Ms. Clift, I believe it to be in the best interest of any canidate running for office, to show no fear, and go into hostile areas where he knows most of the people there are against him, or her. Only time will tell if he has gained or lost, but at least an effort has been made, and he will never have to second guess himself. A national audience was watching also, and some of the valued swing and independent voters just might have liked what they saw and heard. His biggest worry was not the crowd before him, but those around the nation would see him as being to inexperience, and that he might make a blunder of some sort. Now a positive, is that he got apractice round for the debates, and yeah, I know he has debated before, but things are going to be different for the general election, and this also helped to get a little "rust' off the brain for the big 3 coming. He didn't change my mind (still leaning McCain), but it did show he was willing to try.
