So you think someone who is supported by extremists went to a church that condemns America and only left it when it conflicted with his presidency campaign, Ok's partial birth abortions where babies that didn't die during the abortions are dropped in a feces filled basket and left to die, Who compares the US to Hitlers regime. Who wants to tax businesses even morewho are already paying 37% taxes to begin with and provide jobs for those of us who need them. You are going to distroy a whole country with that idea. America was built on people working and building businesses and the freedom to do it. Our taxes are some of the highest in the world. Why do you think business are starting to get workers from other countries. Obama wants a socialistic country and a one world government. It is because of Obama and his party that we are in so much trouble. They hung up everything in legislature that would have helped our economy not because of George Bush.

In my opinion the only reason we were ever in Iraq was to support the Bush family stock holdings in oil. The Bush family not only owns tons of it in Texas but I assure they have plenty of shares of stock... Make sense now? Until they are selling their resource they have to make their capitalistic gains somehow. When you have a lot of money in this country you get to decide everything that happens. One reason we are not green is because oil makes money, car manufacturers have no pressure to change or they would.

    • Posted By: JasperJesters @ 11/04/2008 3:50:14 PM

We need oil. Almost everything we manufacture and use uses oil in some form. What do you think we use to run the machinery to make your goods? oil. What do you think makes plastics and rubber items? oil has a "hand" in manufacturing of said items. So even if we become more energy independent, which we should, we will still need oil. You cannot rid the USA of that necessity.

ok....so tell me how much do you think gas price is going to be if we did not enter Iraq? forgot to see that side of the war?

I am appalled at most of the comments I am reading. I believe both Obama and McCain are honorable men. They both love this country but have different thoughts on how best to run it. I am personally for Obama. But we have a checks and balance system in this country so neither man will be able to do completely what he wants. Both men have run their campaigns and now we will see who the majority wants most. We need to stop fighting at this point and come together and support whichever man is elected. The whole world is watching us. I hope we show some class which unfortunately most of these comments don't reflect.

Comment: I am a republican voting for Obama. I am disgusted and embarassed by what Bush has done to this country in the last 8 years and its time to change the path of this country. Clinton cleaned up up and Bush trashed it. Obama cannot do anything but good at this point.

  • Posted By: jarheadatunm @ 11/04/2008 3:41:09 PM

I personally do not believe that either man is worth a salt. The problems this country has gotten into are not the result of politicians alone. We all must accept responsibility for these problems. President Bush did not force anyone to excessively spend money and go into debt. Senators do not force people to sue each other excessively over minor problems. Congressmen don't force people to become lazy and expect the government to provide everything for them. We are all to blame for our problems. Banks saw an opportunity to lend money to people to buy homes because Americans created the demand for it! Banks did not force people to start the process. People wonder why the rest of the world dislikes Americans? It is because we force our views of everything upon them. Does any honestly believe that the largest religion in the world - Islam - believes that gay marriage is a right! Until this country and its citizens start living like the founding fathers wanted us to, nothing will change and will only get worse. We are all responsible for the failings and successes of the US and we need to stop pointing the blame at others and standing in line with our hands out expecting the government to take care of us. What happened to accepting responsibility for our actions? Isn't that what we teach our children? Yet when it comes us, we look the other way and demand that politicians take care of us like we are children. I for one do not want the government involved in my life and I believe I am the best judge of what I need. That is why I have served the last 17 years of my life in defense of this great nation.

Barrack has ten years experience in public office, more than the two other leading Democratic candidates, Hillary Clinton (six-plus years as Senator from New York) and John Edwards (six years as Senator from North Carolina). Barack's first eight years spent in the Illinois senate before his two years (and counting) of service in the U.S. Senate, should not be forgotten. Far away from the Washington spotlight, he introduced, voted on and passed bills, debated with his colleagues???something that was missing in Washington, where everything is settled in the backroom???and arduously worked to satisfy his constituents. Most important of all, he learned that how to work across the aisle, and get stuff done.

RaynNorthCarolina - Please enumerate, specifically, what he got done.

    Obama & Biden Rock 2008!!

  • Posted By: 4USA2MORROW @ 11/04/2008 3:36:06 PM

Because the alternative is McCain and the nation won't go down that road. You people are attacking Obama like he is personally going to be responsible for our country - NO - he is going to lead our nation into a new way of thinking which is ANY WAY BUT THE REPUBLICAN WAY! How come POW's don't support McCain? How come George Bush doesn't support McCain? Oh sure he says the bare minimum to support the "republican party" but NOBODY likes John McCain - he is weak, old and picked an even worse second in command. THAT IS WHY OBAMA will win - he is the lesser of two evils in this country.

    • Posted By: tim5711 @ 11/04/2008 3:45:51 PM

lesser of two evil's, then why vote for either one and do some reseach on some of the independent parties. It doesn't have to be the lesser of two evils. The info is out there if you want to obtain the knowledge. But when the media force feeds the people and they but it this is what you get ( the lesser of two evil's)

you're an idiot whoever you are...obama is the change you all want??? you want your tax money to go to pay for girls to have abortions for free WITHOUT a parental consent?? is this nation becoming corrupt or what?? we can not have obama as president, he has no clue...i agree with rhino, he doesn't love this country, he simply wants to run it. his wife is ignorant and has a chip on her shoulder, she acts very racist and is not classy in any way...i don't want her as the first lady! read your bible people...obama is the antichrist!

  • Posted By: leahmc @ 11/04/2008 2:59:55 PM

I just wonder who OWNS Obama? Somebody with some serious money has paid for his rock star campaign, or several somebodies, and he obviously doesn't want us to know who it is, or else it would have been disclosed. I know, I know, you can go on some websites and see the individual contributors, but there is also about $100 MILLION out there that is still undisclosed. I think it's a little suspicious. Well, I guess we'll find out soon enough if this puppet actually gets elected.

    • Posted By: su1950 @ 11/04/2008 3:44:33 PM

HE WILL GET ELECTED CAUSE THERE IS NO ONE ELSE RUNNING AGAINST HIM!!!!!

As a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan. Recognizing the terrorist threat posed by weapons of mass destruction, he traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world. And knowing the threat we face to our economy and our security from America's addiction to oil, he's working to bring auto companies, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians of both parties together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards in our cars

So some1namedjeff3 is ready for Stalin and/or Mussolini rule! Socialism here we come! Share the wealth and universal healthcare here we come! Raised taxes and little or no military to protect us when our Kum-By-Ya of a president cannot talk his way to peace with our worse enemies. When countries through centuries have such a deep seated hatred for the USA, OBAMA is not going to miraculously change their minds and viewpoints. People...seriously! THINK! Educate yourselves on the issues and speak intelligently!

I am saddened by the lack of knowledge both Proud American and Buldog show in their comments. Particularly frightening is the continued belief that Obama is a muslim. He is not. Even John McCain had to set his supporters straight on this. Please be responsible citizens by learning the facts behind the countless sound bites.

From the beginning, I knew I'd support the Demos for this race. Whether it be Obama or Clinton, I knew I had to support their cause and our ultimate cause, as a country. In all, we need to unite...as a community, as a country, as a human race. I know some of the things that divide us is our beliefs. And there are cut and dry beliefs that we uphold...such as abortion, the war, gun control, taxes, the economy, etc. And I realize that we are all from different cultures living in this wonderful country...America. Only the Native Americans can really claim their true American roots...as most of us are from 1st, 2nd, 3rd generations of people from all over the world. We need to get over the past...but learn from it. We need to strive to make change and at the same time...do so by coming together...as a solid COUNTRY! Whether it be Obama or McCain...we need to live in peace.
Obama...I feel can help us achieve this. His campaign was natural and from the heart. He may have ideals that many may not agree with...same with McCain. But ultimately...I view his vision as something that can accomodate the Country, and help bring unity. On the religious standpoint...I am against abortion...and I pray all the time that women do not have to go through that...but I am not one to make their decisions...I know that it is ultimately up to them...Who am I to judge...she will have to live with that decision. So, call it ambiguous, but that is my standpoint. But I don't understand the hiprocracy of McCain and Palin, to be so against killing of unborn babies...but are able to support a war that has already killed 5,000 Americans, our brave soldiers, and countless innocent people of the countries at war. ? That, I will never understand. I don't understand how Palin can sit there and shoot up a dear or any animal for that matter...I understand if use the meat to eat...but to kill for sport ? I will never understand...BUT I DO NOT JUDGE! To each his own. I just know that Obama has proven his skills and his ability to withstand any circumstance that may come his way. Unfortunately, McCain and Palin, unable to help me understand their mission, throwing negative attacks, ducking the questions...and not able to talk about issues...SCARES ME TO THINK THEY COULD POSSIBLY LEAD THIS COUNTRY. I honor your work, Mr. McCain, but see you as more of an advisor...NOT A LEADER. So, just enjoy the rest of your life with your beautiful wife, and leave the leading to the utmost capable LEADER...Obama.

IF YOU WANT TO KILL BABIES, HAVE YOUR GUNS TAKEN AWAY AND ON YEAH OPEN THE DOOR FOR ANYONE TO ENTER THE COUNTRY THEN VOTE FOR OBAMA, THE LEST YOU COULD DO IS SAY YOUR SORRY.

Kmartio7: You are an obtuse pandering bigot. If I stuck a pen in my anus and farted above a page, I could write a better support for McCain. But keep on going, it only means more votes for Obama. Thanks!!!

Lets face it people, this isn't an issue about Republican or Democrat majority. It's about survival. 8 years of Bush has all but destroyed the entire middle class. 4 more years of a Bush look alike will not only cause a recession but a repression. Obama knows that without the middle class all the enterprise in the world isn't worth a cent.

  • Posted By: Proud American 45 @ 11/04/2008 3:42:48 PM

To some1namedjeff3, I am glad you saw the difference between McCain and Obama. The only problem is that while Mccain was out getting tourtured, I am sure you were sitting on your comfortable butt not thinking about anyone attacking us. Where was Obama during that time. Oh wait I remember, He was snorting coke. I would much rather have someone who has been there and done that then someone who has not done anythig except get high,
