It will be a sad day tomorrow if that really does happen "Princess August"! and there may be millions of swing voters, but they are definately not like you and don't worry, there will be smarter people in swing states too and they will vote for Obama and Biden because last time I checked, both of these incredible people are TRUE Americans!

    • Posted By: BrianBBB @ 11/04/2008 10:50:46 AM

Last time you checked they were both true Americans? Was that before or after Obama quit going to his ANTI-WHITE, ANTI-AMERICAN church. Or was that after he denounced his friendship with all of his radical friends?

      • Posted By: ji905 @ 11/04/2008 11:16:30 AM

Really? You are playing guilty by association? Do you really want to start that cuz McCain has a ton of un-american associations... you need to stop and think for a second before you start giving me the same stuff that McCain has repeated over and over again. Obama IS a true American... I feel sorry for you that you need to be reminded of that... well let me remind you... Randy Cunningham (way more un-american than Reverend Wright), and the Keating Five... if you don't know both sides then I would suggest you don't talk!

If BO becomes president, I can fire my 80 employees and close business. Why should I take a risk of losing everything when there is no reward? Besides, BO will pay me more to do nothing, so why work for a living?

    • Posted By: Athena59 @ 11/04/2008 11:15:39 AM

You are so ignorant. I'll bet none of the 80 employees that you claim to have are Black. Myself and my 4 brothers are all college graduates from schools such as Brown University, Cornell University, Stanford University, and Harvard Medical School. We are not on welfare and have never been in jail. Once of my brothers is retired from the Army and another has been in the Army Reserves since 2000. And yes, we are all Black. I am not voting for Obama because he is Black. I'm voting for him because he has high hopes for our Country and he inspires me to want to do more on MY part to help other Americans.

Please think clearly when casting your votes, do not vote based on color, this could be your worst mistake, if you have been following comments by the cantidates closely. The only one who actually believes in our society and is not afraid to give straight answers when asked pointed questions has been Mccain. Obama is no different than Clinton was in his stupid Monica Lewinski ordeal. The man cannot give a straight answer, he has yet to state his point of view on many topics --whther he chooses one side or the other. But in an interview withthe washington post, he did give detailed answers about attending flag burning rallies and why he refuses to salute our flag, I don't know about you, but as an american, I can't think of ANY reason that's good enough to keep me from saluting that flag and saying how proud I am to be in this country --- he makes me absolutely ashamed, how will we look to the rest of the world if our newly elected leader does not even back up the foundation of the country he is in charge of? He is not capable of making an educated decision about the US. DON'T ELECT THIS AMERICAN HATER!!

  • Posted By: mommy2two @ 11/04/2008 10:58:33 AM

Barack is forgetting who his MAMA is! Yes his Daddy is BLACK - but who raised him. HE IS A RACIST, not a Black man! The media does not tell us he is a decendent of a multiracial couple - they call him an AFRICAN AMERICAN - which is fine. HE HAS NO ONES INTEREST IN MIND BUT HIS OWN. People of true stature tell the truth - THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE! OBAMA is in bondage of his own deceitfulness! VOTE - MCCAIN - don't buy into Obama's lies!

You sound stupid so shut up. When you have something intelligent to say then by all means you can share but until then read a few black history books, better yet read anything.

I'm still laughing at the ignorant Obama supporter or said I kill a baby every month when I release an egg... if making a baby was that simple, I'd never need a man in my life; thus making life SO MUCH EASIER! I'd be ashamed if I were Obama and I saw the ignorance that comes from his supporters. THEY are allowed to help make the decision on who runs this country? That's a scary thought.

  • Posted By: jstahora @ 11/04/2008 11:03:50 AM

The fact that all of you McCain supporters can ride Obama on his lack of experience, that he is a "radical muslim", and even twistedly refer to him as giving good speeches similar to Hitler, SHOULD ALL DO YOUR HOMEWORK! McCain picked Caribou Barbie who is NOT ONLY lacking in the experience to become 2nd in command BUT IS ALSO LACKING IN THE INTELLIGENCE (if you need something to support this, please refer to her interview with Katie Couriec) to GOD FORBID, step up if something were to happen to John McCain. Sarah Palin's husband was a member of the AIP (Alaskan Independence Party) up until 2002 who not only wish that Alaska could seperate from the United States of America, but HATES AMERICANS as well! I know I will get what I WISH FOR....OBAMA as the next president, but if by chance we do get what you McCain supporters wish....ALL HAIL QUEEN PALIN!

    • Posted By: james_t @ 11/04/2008 11:10:51 AM

Palin has as much executive experience as Obama! He is a first term senator!

It's a sad day when we have managed to fool the ignorant into thinking that taxing the "rich" will lead them to prosperity. Of course, that has always been the stance of the democrats- give to the poor, the lazy, the underemployed, the welfare abusers...instead of helping people help themselves. If there is a person alive (and obviously there is) who thinks that they will reap the rewards of doubling the capital gains tax or increasing income taxes, they are so lost! What they will see is bigger programs and bigger governments. Socialism almost destroyed us in 1980, and getting in bed with terrorists almost destroyed us during 9/11. If anyone believes this BS rhetoric trumped up by the media and mindless hollywood fluff like Sheryl Crow, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon then perhaps there is a worse more pervasive problem than just ignorance. I'm sad to see that of those polled voting for Obama: when asked what Roe Vs. Wade was they stated, "Isn't that about a black guy and a white guy" or when asked if they agreed with McCain's (but told it was Obama's) policy on "X" said, "Oh yeah." I'm all for "get out the vote" but know what you're voting for.

mommy2two: you and I, and all of us were once apes. Or forget that. Say we're all decendents of God. We'll it's a finite world. No aliens that we know of. So, we must ALL be related to each other somewhere in history.

quite honestly i find the blind biases of both sides fascinating if not disturbing. reading through all these comments there are a mere handful of people actually making any sense at all. if you have nothing intelligent to say then you would be well served to not say anything. and no, referring to senator obama as the anti-christ and president bush as the devils puppet is not intelligent. i would love to list some of the comments made and hope we would all just stop and listen to ourselves. we should vote for Obama because all the comments left by Mccain supporters have spelling errors... ???? there's a platform. we should all vote for Mccain because Obama has never shown anyone his birth certificate...??? heavan forbid. if some one was unaware who was running and then read this they would think obama was running against bush. bush isnt running. everyone that think the republicans have dug us a huge whole and life his horrible now, give live over seas then come back in a year or two. everything will seem just fine. those of you who think that if obama wins that will be end of democracy and we are on our way to communism, guess again. if we really understood how this country works we aould realize that no one has the power to make changes like that. even if Obama wanted to (and im pretty sure he doesn't) he couldn't change the constitution in a million years. no matter who wins life will go on and no president will ever make everyone happy. no matter how wonderful he is there will always be those here on these things telling others that the preident they voted for is going to hell cause their party members dont use spell check. branch out everybody.. stray from the party lines just a little and take a look at what is really going on out there. watch cnn and fox everynight and make an educated decision. Wouldnt it be great if we could just support the president when he wins no matter who he is? in four years we can try again and vote for the guy we want. Go America!

The world wants Obama to win so they can roll over the top of us. Forget the fact that Obama is black. Alan Keyes would have done a great job as our President. The issue is our country needs a leader with a spine of steel. McCain has a spine of steel. I met him at a rally years ago and when I shook his hand and looked into his eyes, I felt no weakness. It seems as though we have lost sight of what a true leader is. Obama himself does not have the back bone we need.

  • Posted By: jasonhutchcraft @ 11/04/2008 11:09:34 AM

I voted for Obama, what can I say... I just can't allow another bible thumper like palin be second in command, or worse, if something happens to old man McCain, we have to salute that retard. She seriously thinks that humans and dinosaurs walked the earth together. Moron. She thinks that the party picked her because she was qualified. Fool. Republicans are just a bunch of selfish bastards who are unsure of their place in the world. I'm sorry if these guys are building there castles on sand, but if you have no foundation or reason for your success other than the hard work and dedication of your employees, then you are doomed to utterly fail when they move on to another employer who appreciates them. It's only a matter of time before we see the lower class filled with a lot more CEO's. Also, when you have all the money in the world, and you are outnumbered by the poor and hungry, how long do you think you are going to hold on to that money? Its simply a case of RIch Man/Armed man. Who's money is the Rich man holding when a starving man holds a gun to his head? I understand that these CEOs worked hard, but it will only help them if they spread that wealth and keep their employees healthy and nappy. I'm sure that they wont mind it if that 17th automobile doesnt take up anymore space in their garage.

To the Irish Polish American Indian.............6 degrees of seperation

  • Posted By: Dem all the way @ 11/04/2008 11:08:50 AM

One major problem with the American people is that there is a mountain of information out there that can help them make heads or tails of all the misleading advertising on the TV but people are to busy, overwhelmed or lazy to find it for themselves. There is a very good book out there called "Unequal Democracy" by a prominent Princeton professor - L.M. Bartels. Bartels demonstrates that elected officials respond to the views of affluent constituents but ignore the views of poor people. He shows that Republican presidents in particular have consistently produced much less income growth for middle-class and working-poor families than for affluent families, greatly increasing inequality. He provides revealing case studies of key policy shifts contributing to inequality, including the massive Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 and the erosion of the minimum wage. Finally, he challenges conventional explanations for why many voters seem to vote against their own economic interests, contending that working-class voters have not been lured into the Republican camp by "values issues" like abortion and gay marriage, as commonly believed, but that Republican presidents have been remarkably successful in timing income growth to cater to short-sighted voters.

The book states that over the last 60 years the Democratic tax & economic policies have produced a higher job-growth, higher income growth for the middle class and a higher growth in the GNP than the Republicans. The Republicans trickle down economics has not worked and has produced a much less job growth and only an income growth for the top 1% - middle class has lost during those periods of Republican rule. One issue with the trickle down economics is that we are giving tax breaks to the wealthly corporations so they can create jobs but we no longer have the Walt Disneys, Sam Waltons and Henry Fords running the companies - we now have people like Larry Mizel CEO of MDC Holdings (Richmond Homes) who in 2007 laid off 200 people but still requested that his bonus for the year be $10 mil instead of the $2 mil offered - the company lost over $600 mil that year. The top CEOs are greedy and don't care about the little people who work so hard for them - they just keep those tax breaks for themselves.

So I say we vote for the guy who wants to make sure that the middle & lower class Americans can provide a decent life for their children and families not someone who wants to continue to give the companies who are run by Kenneth Lay (Enron), Joe Nacchio (Qwest), Larry Mizel (MDC Holdings), Bernard Ebbers (World Com)and etc any more chances to make the rich richer and the middle class poorer.

I must agree with aquamerican. The news media is not about news anymore... it is about entertainment just like hollywood. Sizzle sells while truth, honesty and fairness take a backseat to ratings. Whatever happenned to the responsibility of the media to simply report the news, give the facts, let the people make their own decisions instead of the bias reporting and opinionated comments that distort and corrupt the general public's view on issues. You have totally disgraced the professionalism that should be held highest for news media reporters... that is right, reporters not commentators. Tha thsould be left to those that actually know what is going on. McCain has been railroaded by the media and this whole election process as reported, and I use that term very loosely, has been a disgrace to all americans.

I have always trusted the American public to chose the right person for the job. Our history has shown that reguardless of the choice there has been something positive from each elected President. What worries me this time is the amount of voter fraud and the amount of money that has been spent. It seem that certain people believe the White House is for sell. Many American have died to give you and me the priviledge to live in a country where we can disagree and still not worry whether our families's lives would be in danger. What I see from the two canidates is two different views of life. One to take away from the producers and give to the non-producers. The other is return more to the producer and make the non-producer be more accountable for themselves. The difference from theft and taxes is simply who is controlling the gun pointed to your head. I for one preferr that our government would become resposibile spenders and therefore taxes would be reduced. All of you McCain or Obama hater need to relize we are one country and we will continue after this election.

some people just need to read a book... and stop listening to rush limbaugh. Kap96... really? c'mon now.. So i agree with you about Pelosi... and yes, you are entitled to your own opinions but you are not entitled to your own facts. First off, im no democrat... i even voted for mccain in the 04 primaries... So to say the least, your understanding of Obama's proposed tax plan is dreadfully skewered and its sad that some uninformed undecided voter might see such a claim by someone as ignorant as yourself and believe it.

Just take time to actually look something up rather than speculate jibberish.

  • Posted By: bpfeifer49 @ 11/04/2008 11:07:23 AM

Time for a change???? I hope so. It amazes me that there is so much time and money spent on the presidential election in this country and it is probably one of the more insignificant votes to be cast. You need to look at the other 545 or so offices that actually make the laws and pass the legislation to establish the course of our lives. The senate, congress, house and the supreme court justices are the ones screwing the American people. Time to clean house and get rid rid of the ones that have been in the pockets of the wealthy that are actually running this country. The good ole boy network needs to be taken down and elections are the tool to do this with, or maybe another Boston Tea Party .

MWILLKW, Thank you for pointing out that it was BO and his party that has run the senate and house and are therefore responsible for the current state of the economy and the lack of moral and ethical values in our nation. Make sure that you VOTE OUT EVERY STANDING DEMOCRAT in the HOUSE AND SENATE.
