    To Awilduck and Ohiodem:

Excuse me? Fun to slam Bush, our President? Fun to be an American subject to the actions of a rogue czar Commander in Chief for eight years? Fun to be the mom of an only son, my only child, in the active military with a Bush or McCain in office? What an insult.

You say its better to vote for someone with experience whose policies & ideology & beliefs have been laid out for years and are clear for all to see? (With the exception of "what he says" changing when he needs to pander to get votes?) You think an old dog learns new tricks? Or you like the way things are in America?

You say its better to vote for two with Bachelor's Degrees, versus the two with Doctorates? Any educated person knows that GOOD, smart leaders, even in big business, surround themselves with the brightest minds and heed their consul. Just look at the brilliant minds counseling and endorsing Barack!

No thank you. The same about experience was said about John F. Kennedy, but they were wrong weren't they? He was the last President that Americans really loved.

Sorry, the damage was already done by the Republican run House and Senate before more Dems got in. Let's not re-write history and invent propaganda like McCain does. And, if you're prone to believe everything McCain & Palin tell you, you might also think Arnold who is stumping for him has credibility in California! Not!

Besides the Palin VP ticket that I find frightening and evidence of the worse judgment by a leader ever, it scares me more to see the inability of McCain supporters to provide an intelligent, logical, thought out reason beyond their beliefs of rumor to substantiate their position. Propaganda kept Russians oppressed.....is this the plight of Americans too?

Did you not notice how painful it was for Colin Powell, a great statesman and Republican, to stand against McCain, his friend, because of McCain's actions? If Barack for one minute had the dubious character you claim, do you honestly think Colin Powell would endorse him? Think.

No. Really. Are you a Klan member? I'm curious as to where you would get "ideas" like that. On second thought, never mind. i really don't think anyone here is swayed one way or the other, which makes you irrelevant. That means that you don't matter. Consider this. What are the chances that everyone here is an idiot, and that you are the one who has it all together? ........Pretty slim I'd say. Good luck with that though. Gleason

I am a democrat that will be voting the for the most experienced candidate for president not vice president Obama doesn't come close. Because I am a registered democrat doesn't mean that I have to vote democratic. I voted for Ross Perot he was independent. There are a lot of democrats that feel this way I am sure. He just doesn't have the experience or resume to be president. Those are the facts.

    • Posted By: Gleeson @ 11/02/2008 2:08:44 AM

Let me try this again. Ohiodem, you aren't able to decide which party you want to belong to, and yet, you believe that we should all be interested to hear your opinions as to what kind of experience our next pres should have.. Do you honestly think that a record of 26 years, operating in our failed and corrupt federal government, is the kind of experience that our next president should have? Would you hire an ex-con to baby sit your children? These questions are not all that different from each other. There is not enough time for you to catch up now. I suggest that you vote the way that sensible sounding people are voting, or just sit this one out. No harm done. Gleason

    • Posted By: rexymeteorite @ 11/02/2008 1:46:11 AM

Are they really the facts now? You are sure about that? Well, enjoy voting for McWar based on "facts" good sir!

  • Posted By: Ohiodem @ 11/02/2008 1:31:19 AM

Dear Gleason: Some of the people who will be voting grudgingly for Obama WILL have a revelation in that booth and ask themselves Who is this guy really? Again no experience, no substantive resume.. how can I vote for him. Anyone in their right mind sees he has nothing of substance that he has done. Where's the beef? Very simple. Bill Clinton, Al Gore and John Kerry bury Obama in experience and resume. You obviously you don't like it that I am voting for the best qualified person for president, he just happens to be a republican. It's really not that complicated. Experience or no experience that is the question.

    • Posted By: Gleeson @ 11/02/2008 1:52:28 AM

OK Ohiodem. I agree. A lot of ignorant people will be entering voting booths this Tuesday, but I refer you to the rest of my posts in regards to the rest of your comments.

EASY easyjet, afterall this is a free country with free speech. Which is it easy? Is B. Obama an atheist, socialist, communist, terrorist, or facist, arab, witch, or just a caring, intelligent, open minded American who happens to love this country and want to improve it? God knows the USA needs all the help it can get after the past 8 years of nightmare after nightmare under Bush. You ought to stop your name calling, grow up, and then get a better education.

BO (Barack Obama) is one of the greatest statesmen that ever lived. He knows what to say, when to say it, and who to say it to with impeccable precision. You know who else was able to influence a great nation, or a group of believing individuals to believe in them?: Jim Jones (Jonestown 1978...don't drink the Kool-Aid), David Koresh (wacko from Waco), Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin - get my point?! They all were absolutely fantastic statesmen, and I mean the most charismatic, knowledgeable, and believable leaders. They knew WHAT to say, WHEN to say it, and WHO to say it to, because they knew what their audience wanted to hear. They knew how to influence hordes of citizens by telling THEM WHAT THEY WANTED TO HEAR! It's the mark of a great, philosophical orator! But, why is it that only a minority of the American public can see (and see though)this phenomenon? I'm not saying that McCain is the best choice, but I have served to keep socialists out of the US. I have seen my ancestor's homeland (Greece) fall and become decrepit in the hands of socialists. All of us have seen Eastern Europe and France rise up against socialism! Why would we Americans want to repeat the mistakes of so many other countries over the last century? Does BO have such a stronghold on your mind that you can't see through the rhetoric? Come on - we're the most intelligent nation on earth. We should know better than to place a man that wants to "spread the wealth" into power, which, by the way, will be uncontested, because one single party will control all of the American Government (Congress and Senate). We will have systematically eliminated all of the checks and balances that our own founding fathers, and our Constitution, strived to prevent - why don't we just bring back the King of England (OK, it's a Queen now) to control us? Isn't this America - land of opportunity? Are you willing to give up all of the blessings and rewards that opportunity could bring to you, and banish our children into a boilng, socialistic cauldron for several decades? Will someone please turn on the lights and help America see that, if BO comes into power, ALL of what our founding fathers fought for will be dismantled? Come on America - we should be smarter than that!! Please don't ruin this God-Blessed land and turn it into a medieval fiefdom!! BEFORE YOU VOTE, PLEASE THINK ABOUT THE FREEDOM OF YOUR WILL AND YOUR CHILDREN'S CHOICE TO MAKE A GREAT LIVING! If BO is elected, all of that will be lost within 18 months. Mark my words and memorize this time schedule. Only YOU can prevent Socialism in America!

As you can tell KL, I agree with you and we do need a BIG change. Did you see that now Bush has continued his destructive ways and signed in a lot of other deregulations for BIG companies. Gee do you think he wants them all to vote republican. I'm sick of all the little people being destroyed, so to speak, while the fatcats only get fatter. Look where deregulation of Wall Street got us and McCain wants more deregulation so he must be thrilled with Bush's latest poor decision.

Gleeson, I have been reading up on this coming election and listening to everything about it every chance I have gotten ever since seeing B.Obama at the previous Dem convention. I have also listened and learned about McCain. I know who he is and that he resides in one of 7 houses, and is totally out of touch with the average "JOE".....he is the one who has changed over the course of this election, and it hasn't been for the better. I USED to respect him....not anymore.....why?....cause I got to know him better.

  • Posted By: Gleeson @ 11/02/2008 1:15:58 AM

Question. Where are you going to find people who have the "experience" to be the president. Answer. Among a small group of men who aren't eligable to run again. The decision here is EXTREMely compicated, and you won't come to a good decision if you need to ask "who is this guy?!" in the voting booth. Those of us who have done the research, read the BOOKS, already know who the candidates are. How on Earth, in good conscience, could anyone cast a vote, based on a complete lack of information, knowing that they lack the information, because they have to ask themselves "Who is this guy?", IN THE VOTING BOOTH!!! Please America, don't wear your ignorance on your sleeve. It makes it a lot less fun for the rest of us to wipe ketchup on it. If you don't know, please stop TYPING, so that the rest of the people who come here can read the opinions of people who do. Not such a difficult concept, is it? No. The hour is late. there is no time now for indecision. If you don't know anything by now, do America a favor. Don't vote. Gleason

Forgot to mention that I know of a Governor, and that person is a Republican who strongly believes there's no way S. Palin is qualified to become prez. She claims to have so much more experience then B. Obama but when questioned, she couldn't even remember the name of a magazine or newspaper that she uh reads on a regular basis? B. Obamba is a Harvard Law Grad who can speak intelligently and inspirationally. What can S.Palin do besides walk a runway and shoot a moose, or see that someone loses their job because they don't obey her demands. She is unethical and her and her strange minister want to rid the world of witches. Hopefully after Tuesday, Sarah will be the one boooooooooooooooo hooooooooing, otherwise they might start another Salem witch hunt.
Btw, I am a Christian, and even though our founding fathers wrote documents under God's name, no one has done a thing about not keeping church and state separate for a long time, and that goes for both major parties. I think there are alot of hypocrites out there who only bring God's name into politics when they want a vote.

I am neither a Democrat or a Republican. I vote for whomever will be BEST for the job just as I would any other job. Weighing everything, including the devastation of the past 8 years, I will vote for B. Obama. He is the epitomy of cool under fire, class, and intellectual listener/speaker. We need to regain respectability in this country and the world and McCain/Palin won't be able to pull that off. Not with McCain's temper and Palin's "you betcha...duhhh attitude and lack of uhhhh welllll everything. I'm totally disappointed in the Republicans of this country, the bigotry and hatefullness it has brought out in them. They have shown their true colors and I for one don't think I'll vote to the right ever again as a result.

This is not the time for religeous discussion. The hour is late. The future of the USA is on the line. Let's hear some facts from people who are sure they have them. Hopefully, people who understand the Constitution of the United States of America.

  • Posted By: KLHilborn @ 11/02/2008 1:05:35 AM

Caseyreads, you're absolutely right! It really annoys me when people say Obama has no experience, when he has 9 more years experience than Palin. And what has McCain done? He's voted with Bush 90% of the time. We already know that system has failed. I'll tell you this. If McCain/Palin gets elected, this country is in trouble. I've traveled all over the world; to 1st and 3rd world countries, and there is a running theme amongst the people - they all hate us! They're mad at what the Bush administration has done. And if McCain get's elected, he will continue Bush's plan. The world will stray further away from us. McCain is not the person for the job. He won't mend our ties with other countries, he'll destroy them.

  • Posted By: Gleeson @ 11/02/2008 1:04:45 AM

Mr Samples, I quote you. " The founding fathers recognised and believed that rights were given by God".....
Are you serious? Do you really believe that? My my. What you describe here is called a Theocracy. Many Muslim, middle eastern countries are indeed thocracies. They believe that all laws are created by Alah, through "his" clerics, not that there's anything wrong with that, but it is not, never has been, and hopefully never will be a fair description of our democracy. Further more, if our founding fathers ever heard
that that was what became of the America that they worked so hard to create had become, they would roll over in their graves. Please get your facts straight, and keep your religeon seperate from our politics.

Here's the thing. It's absolutely clear to those of us who actually read books, that some of you, also read books. It's also clear and plain to see who doesn't. It's interesting that the majority of posts here, written by people who insist that McCain should be our next president, clearly, are in the latter group. It's also interesting that those of you who complain the loudest about our media, parrot the media's talking heads almost excusively, with no tangible thoughts of your own, and when you speak of "what you know to be true", the truth is, your "truth", is nothing more than a lot of crap that you searched for on the internet. Go ahead. Ask me to make any absurd statement sound true, and I'll find you a way to do that with my Google bar. The thing I'm trying to make clear here, is that we can SEE you. Those of us who actually know what's going on because we've been reading stacks of books for decades, can see who's who in these forums. Now, aren't you embarassed? No? I thought not. Point is, if you're foolish enough to think that John McCain is the man to get us out of this mess, perhaps you should shut your computer down, go to a book store, and buy a book. I don't care what you read. Read anything, but READ something. ask the kid in the stock room. Chances are excellent that he's smarter than you are. Who knows. You might even learn how to spell, or maybe form a correct sentence. It is my great hope that a lot of Americans will spend the next four years doing that, reading, learning, asking the right questions , and asking the right people for the right answers to those questions, so that four years from now, I won't have to read anything as embarassing to our country as the amazing stream of BS that I've read here tonight, posted for all the world to see. You need to ask yourselves some questions for a start. Such as, "Am I a fool?" and "Did I vote for the fool who got us into this mess?" Well? Are ya punk? Did ya? If you can't honestly say, " No, I'm not a fool. Not any more." , then you're probably a fool. See how easy this is? Fun too!! Point is,you should know who you are, and if you don't, then trust me. Those of us who are not fools anymore, can see the fools among you just as plain as....well, lipstick on a pig. Admiting your problem is half the battle. The stock boy can tell you what your next step should be.Please. America. Wake up, and then, read a book. I promise, it won't kill you. You might even feel better. I know i will. Gleason.

Obama's 11 years experience as an elected goverment offical, the way he can connect with people, and his views on what's right and wholesome for this world is every reason why he will make a fine president.

The fact that Sarah Palin has 2 years experience and that she only left North American 1 year ago really scares me. How on earth can she be a world leader, when she knows nothing about other cultures? Not to mention that she thinks global warming is a myth, and she endorses hunting down polar bears. If that's not redneck, I'm not sure what is. John McCain might have many years experience, but the last thing we need is another trigger-happy, American is the only country in the world, politican. The next president needs to understand and mend our ties with other nations, not push them away like the Bush Administration has done.

    • Posted By: Ohiodem @ 11/02/2008 12:47:58 AM

Obama is a great orator.... no resume of substance..... no experience of substance = he's not qualified to be president..... not close. If you support him because he talks a good stick more power to you. I just can't do it.

  • Posted By: caseyreads @ 11/02/2008 12:45:47 AM

Ohiodem, then why didn't you just change your political affiliation preference before now? God forbid anything happen to McCain to prevent him from serving, because with S.Palin next in line, our country will not only fail miserably, but states will start succeeding from the union...if her hubby has anything to say about it and I hear and read that he very much does. He speaks, she jumps. How you can you then condemn B. Obama with a backup as experienced as J. Biden. I'd rather have him at our backs then some ditzy ex pagent contestant who was very easily punked into thinking the French prez called her. Her ego knows no bounds. Not to mention that this country is in enough trouble from the Bush/Cheney years to have 2 more of them running things.....

To: Sanlass, hopefulmom, mackwheaton, blista, and those who are not "sheep." It is good to see Intelligent Life Here.

Mackwheaton, you forget to mention, that Palin, with her Bachelors Degree in Communications, thinks she knows more about Global Warming, and our Endangered Species, such as the almost extinct whales up in her drill-baby-drill ocean, than the most brilliant scientists in the world! The Polar Ice Caps, melting at an alarming rate right in front of her eyes in Alaska, according to her, is not caused by global warming. The uninformed here believe she will be a leader capable of bringing in great minds & base her decisions on their intelligent knowledge? McCain, who the Repubs claim capable of leading this great country, also defends his choice for Palin to succeed him? Lets not forget, McCain only holds a bachelors degree too. God knows who he consults with, a sentiment by many horrified Republicans in politics!

While Palin calls a fare tax change "socialism", she gives every single man, woman and child in Alaska an annual check from the oil profits. Oh....but this is somehow, not a re-distribution of wealth? While at the same time, millions of our tax dollars from the rest of the states go to her in Alaska? I guess re-distributing the wealth only applies when Obama talks about it.

How much pressure was put on McCain by Big Oil Companies to select Palin? We already know McCain had to change his own ideology to win the support of the far, extremist Christian right! And he did this by selecting Palin when he needed this base he upset by opposing their extremes. Who else will McCain pander to under pressure? Now Palin & McCain preach taking away a woman's right to choose? "You Betchya!"

Communist Russia was able to make its citizens sheep with it's own propaganda.....which only succeeded by the removal of any books that do not support it's views from where? Yes, the libraries and all public access! Palin tried to have books that do not support her extreme Christian ideology removed from libraries!

Oh, someone cited some hate written by an advisor to Pres. Reagan? Yes, wonderful, patriotic Reagan who while governor in California kicked out most of the mentally ill from hospitals, a majority who where Vietnam Vets, and put them where? On the streets. I watched it happen right before my own eyes.

First the brain washed Repubs here complain about the media, then the electoral voting system, and now they are arguing that Republican Bush has nothing to do with Republican McCain whose policies almost mimicked Bush all these years....but now, after his 72 years, he's promising change? Sure, McCain jumped on that promise when? A few weeks ago? Right. Who is the political chameleon here?

Anyone who read George Orwell's 1984, also knows about "double-speak." I just can't believe how many Repubs here have bought into it and continue to spread the propaganda as if there is

    • Posted By: jrsamples @ 11/02/2008 12:44:05 AM

Mya, I am not trying to change your views. Sounds like you are neck deep in the Kool-Aid. I hope that you will take the time to read the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights and consider the origination and purpose of them in the eyes of the founding fathers. You will see that the rights are not given by a government. What would stop them from deciding to take them back? No, the founding fathers recognized and believed that rights were given from God not man. Like it or not, that is where they received the inspiration to write them down. You know, most of us, and I will assume to include you in that group, really like that first amendment. I wonder from your tone whether you believe that there is a God? If you do not believe in a God, then where would you suppose those rights would come from? Obama has said that he believes that healthcare is a right. In this Godless world, if you have enough power, you may decree what ever right that you wish. If you do believe in a God, maybe a Christian God, do you not think that it would be strange for God to create a child but at the same time give you the inalienable right to kill it if you CHOSE? One last thought, I wish you folks who think that it is o.k. to kill the unborn would at least be honest with the terminology. Quit calling it the "right to choose." Be honest with yourself and everyone else. Just say "I, Mya, support the ability to kill my offspring at any time."
