Will the checks and balance system that our founding fathers set up still work if one party has control of the white house, congress, senate and soon the judiciary branch? We cannot be consumed about who will be president alone (although it is very important). We need to take a step back and look at the whole picture. If democrats have the power in all the branches of government...who will govern them? Same as if the Republicans have all the power. The reason we have 2 parties is so they can balance each other. We need to either vote for balance or vote for reform in both parties. Seems to me that we all have forgotten what the big picture is...it is the need to protect the USA and its citizens from ALL dangers/ crisis at home and abroad.

How sad if he turns against his family now what makes you think he will take care of Americans. He could have helped her. Perhaps spread his wealth lol. The Great Chuckle: Never since 1735 when my ancestors stepped ashore in Maryland have we seen a greater political bow to "socialism" than we are currently experiencing. The GOP finally did it; destroyed the government with their incompetent President and his lackeys; destroyed the economy with the lackeys failure to regulate reasonably; destroyed themselves in the process. Now with the great "Bailout", ostensibly to protect the worlds financial system, the "grease" that supposedly makes everything mesh nicely all they are really doing is once again hiding the nut under the other shell, providing this rotten administration to glide away into history, hopefully without the tar and feathers they so deserve. America is headed down the wrong trail and unless we elect a responsible, new political class, we are in deep, deep trouble.

If a wealth re-distribution back to the lower 80% is socialism, then I'm definitely a socialist. I used to respect John McCain, but he destroyed his campaign in the beginning by currying favor with traditional regressive right-wing interests, including the faith nazis. He wound up with a negative campaign because he essentially had nothing to offer on the issues. Palin is an insult to our intelligence. On November 4, this independent will vote straight "D" from top to bottom.

If you want an accurate reflection of what is going to happen on 11/4, you need to give McCain about 65% of the undecided vote. In some areas that will be enough to move states into the McCain column. In the final analysis, it will not be enough for McCain...he will still loose.

And if you watch fox news you would think you should vote for McCain. I have noticed an elevated degree of intelligence here by those who have been involved in much diligent research to support their educated choice for Obama. I definitely don't see a simplistic "vote for change" mantra being spoken without substance behind it. That also leads me to conclude that there are many educated people here, who know to weigh in the bias of media & bloggers, including McCain's far-right tv faux news! In fact, many have already told you as much. I am more cynical than most about politics and politicians, but for once in my long years, I see the making for a great leader in Obama. If you see substance behind your support of McCain, then by all means, make a case based on factual data, and tell us what McCain/Palin will do for all of us concerned Americans. As far as I'm concerned, the news is reporting on the pulse of the American people who are so sick of what the same old thinking has done to destroy this great country, and have finally helped to dispel the propaganda and smears spread by the McCain supporters.

Now Arnold is stumping for McCain. Yeah, Arnold sold us a bill of goods too.....he portrayed himself as "non-partisan"....ha-ha. Arnold could have made a deal with the Indian Casino Pact and traded the wildly profitable casino expansion he granted for specified donations to our schools. But no, Arnold gave it all away, for nothing in return. Some want to change the constitution so Arnold, a non-natural born citizen, can run for President. Maria Shriver (a Kennedy), his wife, is for Obama. Curious.

If you are not familiar with Arnold in California, don't be fooled by his celebrity or what he stands for, as quiet frankly, many of us in California still don't see any of his promises brought to fruition here. There are compelling reasons why California is a "solid" blue state for Obama!

Those who say that Obama said what he said or did what he has done are obviously racists. If you would just raise your predudicial veil, you might see that Obama has never said what he said. Nor has he ever done what he has done. You might then accept the change that he says he will bring. But then after he is elected, you will find that he never said that he would bring any changeat all!
