    READ HISTORY!!!!!

Republicans have called democrat presidential candidates all sort of names including socialist!

Do you think Buffet, Rubin, Powell, Clinton, the 2008 nobel proze winner in Economy would be supporting Obama otherwise. Those are not dummies!

    Remenber McCain own words?
Obama is a "decent family man, citizen.................
"He is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared about as President of the United States.......
THIS WAS ONE OF FEW HONEST MOMENTS OF McCAIN WHOLE CAMPAIGN!!!!!

all of those people are paid to endorse Obama including powell and Bill Clinton. hillary still wants her 20 million dollars back from the DNC that she borrowed to her campaign. they all said that obama is not qualified.

OMG!!! yep, thats the easy way out. Just throw the old "racist" card out there and blame it on that. If any other candidate dishonored the flag I wouldn't trust them to be in charge either. Just because I'm not buying what he is selling doesn't mean that I'm racist. Agent for change, I hope you have a great life after this election is over.

For all you Obama voters out there, thank you
Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read ' Vote Obama, I need the money .' I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on a ' Obama 08 ' tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

      Redistribution of Wealth in Alaska
      October 22, 2008, 4:18PM

There is a lot being made by the McCain Palin campaign about the redistribution of wealth as proposed by the Obama tax plan. What seems to have gone unquestioned in the discussion on this question is the redistribution of wealth that occurs in the State of Alaska. This year every man, woman, and child that is a resident of Alaska will receive a redistribution of wealth from taxes on oil revenues of over $3000 each. A family of four will receive a distribution of over $13000. Palin, was apparently instrumental in increasing that distribution this year by about $1200 a person. It is noteworth that Alaskan's do not pay income or sales tax.
      http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/blogs/svjim/2008/10/redistribution-of-wealth-in-al.php

Didn't Palin Redistribute Wealth in Alaska?
      October 27, 2008, 3:58PM

Didn't she increase taxes on the oil companies and give part of the money to Alaskans?
Palin's windfall tax will fund a $1,200 "rebate" that Alaska will give to every eligible man, woman and child in Alaska, to help offset soaring fuel prices. That money will be dispersed as part of larger, $3,269 check that Alaskans will receive that was paid for by state taxes on oil companies - a family of four will receive a check for $13,076. The fuel rebates will cost the state $750 million.

In October 2007 Palin rolled out a tax increase plan on oil companies operating in Alaska, including a windfall profits tax. Palin's plan, called the "Alaska's Clear and Equitable Share" (ACES) plan, was approved by the state Legislature and includes:
      · Raising the state's current net profits tax on North Slope oil from a 22.5% to 25.0% base.
      · A "progressive" windfall profits tax: When oil prices rise above about $50 a barrel, the tax rate increases by 0.2% for each additional dollar a barrel.
Palin said, "The state of Alaska is currently the largest investor on the North Slope, having paid for 50 percent of all investments in 2007. Yet our share of net revenue, including royalties, property and corporate income tax, was about 40 percent. The "equitable share" component in ACES narrows this gap..."

      WEALTH RE-DISTRIBUTION IN ALASKA.........

      Let's see. There's how many Palins, 7.

      So 7 * $3,269 = $22,883

Quite a payday for the Palin family, for doing absolutely nothing.

      Are they collecting welfare?

Here's an idea. Why not give $10 to the waiter and the homeless guy? Then you would have made 2 people happy, and maybe you might have even felt good about yourself, instead of feeling smug about something you obviously don't understand.

I question the validity of the "solid McCain" statement for the state of Oklahoma,. In my judgement this statement is in error. I have talked to co-workers, friends and relatives, in Oklahoma and by 70%, they are voting for Obama. The other thing is that Oklahoma has 250, 000 more registered Democrats than republicains. So how can anyone be so sure to say that Olahoma is "Solid McCain"?

    6. When Karl Rove says your campaign???s lies have gone too far, you???ve gone too far.
McCain???s running a revoltingly sleazy campaign, but it???ll be tough to sink lower than his commercial suggesting Obama wanted to teach kindergartners about sex. (???Learning about sex before learning to read????) The ad implies teachers would be telling kids how to find the G-spot before naptime, but the bill Obama co-sponsored would actually have focused on age-appropriate topics like how to avoid molestation. Imagine if Obama???s ad people were willing to twist the truth like that: ???John McCain doesn???t want little kids to know about the dangers of pedophiles. Does John McCain like pedophiles????

    7. He???s Charles Keating Jr.???s ex-BFF.
In the late ???80s, Charles Keating Jr., owner of Irvine-based Lincoln Savings and Loan, also owned McCain???s ass. McCain and four other senators (the infamous ???Keating Five???) received ample campaign contributions from Keating. McCain partied like a pimp on Keating???s dime, enjoying what he called ???Charlie Keating???s Shangri-La.??? Keating actually boasted to reporters about buying McCain???s loyalty. The Keating Five pressured regulators to overlook Keating???s illegal activities, leading to a bank failure costing taxpayers over $120 billion by some estimates. It was a dress rehearsal for our current horror show, with McCain at center stage. McCain officially cut ties to Keating in 1987. His wife???s business partnership with Keating lasted until 1998, but McCain insists he didn???t know.

    8. He agrees with Bush 95 percent of the time.
McCain???s trying to distance himself from the unpopular Bush, but in 2007 McCain voted with Bush 95 percent of the time, according to Factcheck.org. Seriously, your dog doesn???t even agree with you 95 percent of the time.

    9. He???s very old.
Things McCain is older than: Life Magazine, World War II, the Golden Gate Bridge and Keith Richards. In 2000, McCain himself suggested he???d be too old to run by 2008, saying, ???I think I might be ready to go down to the old soldiers??? home.???

    10. He???s in lousy health.
He???s endured four bouts of malignant melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Ominously, McCain refuses to allow full access to his medical records.

    11. His age and health really matter.
It???s not unlikely McCain would croak in office. Then we???d be stuck with Palin, and W???s administration would seem like the good old days.

come on people wake up. You guys are following Obama like lemmings. When he visited foreigh countries that someone so aptly noted where he was welcomed and was changing attitudes toward the US. Out of respect for their customs or faith Obama dressed in their ceremonial garb; however, in our own country he dishonors our Flag. How does the possible new president and commander-in-chief defend his actions. You people better get some coffee before its too late and he sells us down the river. My advice too all is forget about the stock market and buy more bullitts. If Obama get elected you will need them to protect your homes and families.

Maybe McCain is a maverick and has a way with the ladies...3 beauty queens isn't small potatoes.....

Sometime around 1900, Archie Wright made his way from Mississippi to Indian country around present-day Muskogee, Okla., and proceeded to raise Cain: "Arch Wright Given Jail Sentence," read a headline in the Muskogee Times-Democrat in 1908. "Lots of Booze," the same paper reported six months later after deputy sheriffs raided Wright's house.

That man, described in the local press at the time as a "well-known debonair, dead-game sport," was the maternal grandfather of Sen. John McCain. While much has been made of McCain's paternal lineage -- the upstanding admirals of the Navy -- less appears to be known about Arch Wright, who made a fortune on liquor, gambling and oil in Indian territory before relocating to Los Angeles with a sprawling clan in tow, including McCain's mother, Roberta Wright McCain.

Sarah Palin is a mom of 5, a soon to be grandmother, and loves to hunt. She is the Governor of a state of 600,000 and was the Mayor of a town of 6000. She hired a lobbyist to bring in earmarks over 28 million dollars, and as Governor has requested more earmarks than any other state per ca pita.

She is tough. When the news media keeps telling everyone that she did not sell the state jet on ebay, or that she was not always against the bridge to nowhere, she sticks to her scripts. In the face of truth, she is able to repeat her stomp speech and not change a thing. Not many politicians can say that.

She stood up to Charlie Gibson in her interview and said, "Yes, I am ready to be president." She is ready. How many people can say they are ready to be president. Why do the liberals want to ask her questions about her past or what she believes in? This is not fair. She has a right to be VP without explaining herself.

She also stated that she did not blink when McCain asked her to be VP. This is proof that she is a patriot. She will take on Russia, and go to war if necessary to protect our great US of A. She is ready to be VP and even President.

McCain knew it after meeting with her twice that she was his soul mate. McCain's gut told him- now that is the kind of guy that I want leading the country. A man that tosses reason and logic out of the window and goes with his gut. Unlike that wimp Obama; who wants to talk or use diplomacy first.

Proven by all of the things I have listed. Who cares about The Bush Doctrine? She is a mother of 5, not a baby killer. She looks like the girl next door, and has a comprehensive energy plan that includes only drilling. She will not drill in Indiana, Ohio or Michigan, but there will be lots of jobs in Alaska- America's Last Frontier.

I have a problem with a person who continues to lie to the American Public when the truth is confirmed otherwise as with the Lear jet issue. It is true that ALL policiticans bend the truth but most accept the truth when confronted. Continuing to be dishonest in the face of truth is not a virtue I would espouse for a President. At least I hold the office of the President and Vice President of the United States in higher regard than that.

    • Posted By: suzvoter47 @ 09/28/2008 5:08:14 PM

Everyone should care about the Bush Doctrine it gives us the President the rigjt to go into anothet nation on a premptive military strike without approval or real proof of threat to the USA directly. Since when do we have the right to attack another country on a military level without a known threat and this decision is made without the approval of cd ongress. That is a VERY dangerous power and if one is going to be potentially the President., that person needs to know this Doctrine. Additonally, toughness if not enough for presidency wisdom, knowledge and the abiltity to SEE and inderstands all the sides and consequences are neccessary. Palin does not have this abilty. Using your GUT only could be the start of WWIII. Additonally we have 3 percent of the oil and we use 25 percent do the math how long will it last....

      Thinkl dont just react.

Before you accuse me of being a libral I am a registered Moderate Independent who is sick and tired of the ranting, our country is taking and it will take a great deal of wisdom to get us out of the messes the current Republican Administration has created.

I had to produce my birth certificate in order to obtain a passport, to go to school, get a driver's license and other things. Why is porducing his now such a big deal for Obama? I have always found that one who secretes things that most would not object to, has something to hide and is not to be trusted. To those who are in favor of Obama's tax policy, remember that when taxes on business goes up, one of two things MUST happen - either consumer proces go up or the company must cut overhead, typically resulting in a loss of jobs. So, a vote for Obama will result in either inflated prices (which the working class will have to pay( or loss of jobs, again resulting in hardship to the working class, A vote for Obama is akin to a vote to cut your own throat.

    • Posted By: Eltaco @ 10/29/2008 5:20:47 PM

If you want to see his birth certificate, go to his website and view it. He was born in Hawaii. And speaking of the working class, I dont know about YOU but I pay taxes on %100 of my income, those who make obscene amounts of money like 700,000 a year only pay taxes on 300,000 or so....that is totally unfair but that's the way it has been for far too many years!! I think it's time the taxes were raised on the extremely wealthy, that extra 400,000 a yr they made only helped make them more corrupt.

    25 Reasons McCain Sucks
How does John Sidney McCain III suck? Let us count the ways . . .

    1. He???s a closet neocon.
According to Rolling Stone, McCain privately calls himself ???the original neocon.??? McCain began pushing for war with Iraq in the ???90s, and within hours of the World Trade Center attacks he was on talk shows insisting Iraq was developing WMDs. Pre-war, he repeatedly stated we would win easily. Later, after the war became a disaster, McCain pretended he???d always been against it. ???The American people were led to believe this could be some kind of day at the beach,??? he said in 2006, ???which many of us fully understood from the beginning would be a very, very difficult undertaking.???

    2. Elect McCain, and you can expect more pointless, bloody wars.
McCain clearly has his sights set on Iran, for starters. Retired general John H. Johns, McCain???s former friend, says if McCain???s elected, he???ll be ???Bush on steroids. . . . He puts military at the top of foreign policy rather than diplomacy.???

    3. He doesn???t know when to hold ???em or fold ???em.
McCain???s got a gambling jones. He blows thousands per game playing craps. John Weaver, McCain???s former chief strategist, told Time, ???Enjoying craps opens up a window on a central thread constant in John???s life. . . . Taking a chance, playing against the odds.??? Suddenly it makes sense why McCain chose a moose-hunting beauty queen for his running mate: It was a huge gamble. We can???t risk McCain ???rolling snake eyes??? with America???s future.

    4. He???ll destroy what???s left of the economy.
McCain has admitted that ???economics is not something I???ve understood as well as I should.??? With the economy so grim that every morning you pray your corner ATM still dispenses cash, do you want to hand things over to a guy who declared this March he???s ???always for less regulation???? One of the Keating Five? Mister ???The fundamentals of our economy are strong???? Elect McCain, and blame yourself when your family is staying warm by burning your useless checkbooks.

    5. That awful woman.
I don???t even want to get started on Sarah Palin, or this list will quickly turn into 25 reasons why she sucks. Let me just say that Palin is so horrible that people who like her are a danger to themselves and others, and shouldn???t be allowed to walk around without protective headgear.

If McCain and most of the Republican party hadn't turned their back on fiscal conservatism, there would be a much starker contrast between them and the Democrats. Instead, they have catered to groups of radical Christian evangelists with a moral agenda for the past 8 years (this is called "pandering to lobbyists") and have stripped away our liberties with copious "anti-terror" laws, using fear-mongering tactics to scare the American people into thinking that we are hounded at every step. Terrorists don't win by destroying physical objects, they win by destroying the peace of mind in those they target. Americans need to realize that they have sacrificed their freedoms for a false sense of security in the form of unconstitutional executive orders, frivolous spending on programs with no results, and wasteful foreign endeavors.

In truth, the Democrats are no worse than the Republicans, and the lines between them are so heavily blurred that they are indistinguishable, except for sycophantic party rallying cries like "terrorism" and "socialism". We, as Americans, need to start holding our elected officials accountable--regardless of party affiliation--and demanding a higher standard of representation. We need to stop demonizing the people that we disagree with and start progressing towards achievable goals, rather than spouting off the latest zinger of slander and muck that has been dredged up on either candidate. For that reason, I plan to vote for Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate this election.

Palin did great today on her Energy Policy Speech...shame she isn't a democrate...she'd be great as the head of the Energy Department. Otherwise she will just have to go back to Alaska and push from there to help this country get it's head out of it's ass on energy security and independence. I'd like to know more of obama's energy plan and I hope it will help push us forward...it would help solve many problems we face currently, i.e., jobs, energy investment here at home, and may even help stabalize the markets...but that is just to much to ask from our government. Or is it?

The only person who has the experience to be president is a president running for reelection. You're late on the fear angle. but desparate times for McCain require desparate measures. Good luck with that. Nine of ten people that claim the Trinity church is VERY RACIST have never attended. They say Rev Wright is unAMERICAN, but he enlisted TWICE in the military once in the Marines and once in the Navy after it integrated. Granted youtube is at fault for not playing the ENTIRE sentence which stated "...for turning its back on its citizens". We know that the clip was meant to damage Barack not inform us about a man who was a pastor since 1972..

If you graduate near the bottom of your class, 26 years is about the time it takes to have enough experience to be president. However what is the sense of electing someone for office that will continue to lead us down the same path Bush has. McCain is not Bush obviously but adopts his philosophy. So far he has adopted Bush's economic policy, foreign policy, and now election strategies. How much more do we need to see to understand that things will not change if McCain is elected. . The only stick we can use to judge how McCain and Barack would run this country is how they ran their campaigns. Since Barack is a quick study and actually listens, he ran circles around everyone deemed experienced. McCain as Bush are not known to listen to the people around them and that is dangerous during these times, so choose McCain and I'll stick with Barack.

At the weekend, David Frum, a leading Republican thinker and former speechwriter for Mr Bush, wrote in the "Washington Post" that Mr McCain was doomed and "is losing in a way that threatens to take the entire Republican Party down with him" The only hope for Republicans, he argued, was to divert resources to prevent the Democratic majority of 51 to 49 turning into a 60 to 40 majority which would be filibuster-proof and therefore enable an Obama administration and Democratic Congress to push through a Left-wing agenda.

"In these final 10 days, our goal should be: senators first. A beaten party needs a base from which to recover."

    19. He???s a self-described ???computer illiterate.???
In an age when a cyber-terrorist attack could cripple America, should we elect a dude who doesn???t understand what the kids are doing with those infernal machines?

    20. ???Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.???
McCain criticized Obama for publicly discussing his plans for Pakistan . . . after McCain announced his own aggressive intentions toward Iran in song form.

    21. His ???senior moments.???
McCain???s had troubling memory lapses. He referred to the ???Iraq/Pakistan border,??? forgetting Iran is between those countries. He addressed a rally as ???my fellow prisoners,??? suggesting he may be having ???Nam flashbacks on the campaign trail. In an interview, he mistook Spanish Prime Minister Zapatero for the head of a Latin American dictatorship, refusing to say if he would meet with him.

    22. His environmentalist talk is a bunch of greenhouse gas.
He told The Orange County Register ???addressing climate change effectively??? is one way he???ll distinguish his administration from Bush???s. But in 2007, McCain earned a zero score from the League of Conservation Voters, and if he dies in office, we???ll be stuck with Ms. Drill-Baby-Drill.

    23. He ???palled around with terrorists.???
In the ???80s, McCain was on the advisory board of the American branch of the World Anti-Communist League, an ultra-conservative group linked to Nazi collaborators and Central American death squads. McCain claims he resigned in 1984, but the group has no record of his ever leaving. And McCain has the stones to attack Obama for briefly serving on an educational board with a ???60s radical-turned-tweedy professor?

    24. He supports torture.
In 2007, McCain rightly denounced waterboarding as torture, noting that it was used in the Spanish Inquisition. But he later hailed Bush for vetoing an anti-waterboarding bill, and voted against it himself. McCain???s been tortured himself, he knows firsthand how horrible it is . . . and he supports torture.

    25. Mr. ???Straight Talk??? has no integrity.
McCain has cozied up to the fundamentalists he once dismissed as ???agents of intolerance.??? He???s pushed for the tax cuts and oil drilling he once opposed. He???s hired the guys who sank his 2000 presidential bid with a whisper campaign about his ???illegitimate black child??????the same guys he once said deserve a ???special place in hell.??? And, oh yeah, he now supports torture. During McCain???s August appearance at OC???s Saddleback Church, he described himself as a ???very imperfect person.??? Well, at least we know he???s honest about something.

Everyone shoud really calm down on the whole socialist thing. It is truely comical how you repubs bounce from one talking point to the next. Rather than attack Obama, I urge any McCain supporter to explain 1 new idea that McCain is propsing for the economy that has not been a Republican agenda for the last 20 years. The truth is the only idea is cut taxes and hope businesses decide to not just pay themselves more and instead decide to employ more people. Fact is, this does not happen and we all know it.

I understand people being skeptical of Obama and that is fine but when you go into the voting booth think about who could restore America's image to the world and you will see that it is not John McCain.

I believe that the world leaders, who don't have the USA's best interest in mind are drooling over being able to take advantage of a President Obama.

You mean like the Europeans who recently voted like 9 to 1 that they would rather have Obama as President. And honestly you think so little of our country that we would be taken advantage of by a nation like who Pakistan. Get real.

You mean like the cheering Germans that Obama belittled America in front of on his overseas field trip, with al the Obama media. I am glad that the Germans or English are not voting in our elections, or did ACORN go on Obama's field trip too.

    12. He???s such a jerk, other Republicans hate him.
Various Republican senators have described McCain tantrums where he shouts profanity and shoves people. ???It was incidents of irrational behavior,??? said Bob Smith. John LeBoutillier calls McCain a ???vicious person,??? adding, ???Nearly all the Republican senators endorsed Bush because they knew McCain from serving with him in the Senate.??? Thad Cochran claims that during 1987 diplomatic talks in Nicaragua, McCain went nuts and grabbed a Sandinista official. This January, Cochran said, ???The thought of [McCain] being president sends a cold chill down my spine.??? (Cochran has since endorsed McCain. You can???t really blame him . . . would you want to be on McCain???s bad side?)

    13. Seriously, he???s a total jerk.
???At least I don???t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you b**ch.??? ???McCain to his wife in 1992, in full earshot of reporters, after she joked about his thinning hair.

    14. Wow, is he a jerk.
???Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father.??? ???A McCain joke from 1998. (Karma in action: Little Chelsea grew up to be a stone fox, while the once-handsome McCain now has a head like a moldy biscuit.)

    15. He???s a jerk, jerk, jerk.
When McCain returned from Vietnam, his then-wife had been in an accident that left her five inches shorter and on crutches. While the mother of his children was undergoing painful physical therapy, McCain cheated on her and eventually dumped her for a younger, prettier and richer girl (the current Mrs. McCain).

    16. Did we mention he???s a jerk?
McCain has repeatedly clashed with families of POW-MIAs, and in 1996 one clash turned particularly ugly. A woman in a wheelchair equipped with portable oxygen approached him to ask about her son. Witnesses say McCain raised his arm to strike her before shoving her wheelchair away. Forget running the country, you shouldn???t trust McCain to watch your cat.

    17. No abortions for you.
McCain has said, ???I do not support Roe v. Wade. It should be overturned.??? Palin, meanwhile, wouldn???t let you have an abortion even if your dad raped you.

    18. If McCain wins, expect more Katrinas.
McCain swears he???d never mismanage a disaster response like Bush mismanaged Katrina. But after Katrina, McCain actually voted against emergency funding for Louisiana and Medicaid and unemployment for Katrina victims. (And where was McCain the day Katrina hit? In Arizona, celebrating his birthday with Bush. Cameras captured the pair cutting into a big cake and grinning like newlyweds.)
