This is real simple economics. How many full-time employees with benefits does a person with a $50,000 income personally employ? For most, none. How many does a person with $250,000 employ? One less under Obama's tax plan, two less if you include Obama's health plan.
The Kennedy tax cut.
http://www.heritage.org/Research/Taxes/bg1765.cfm
About half way through the article.
"President Kennedy proposed massive tax-rate reductions, which were passed by Congress and became law after he was assassinated. The 1964 tax cut reduced the top marginal personal income tax rate from 91 percent to 70 percent by 1965. The cut reduced lower-bracket rates as well. In the four years prior to the 1965 tax-rate cuts, federal government income tax revenue--adjusted for inflation--increased at an average annual rate of 2.1 percent, while total government income tax revenue (federal plus state and local) increased by 2.6 percent per year . In the four years following the tax cut, federal government income tax revenue increased by 8.6 percent annually and total government income tax revenue increased by 9.0 percent annually. Government income tax revenue not only increased in the years following the tax cut, it increased at a much faster rate.
The Kennedy tax cut set the example that President Ronald Reagan would follow some 17 years later. By increasing incentives to work, produce, and invest, real GDP growth increased in the years following the tax cuts: More people worked, and the tax base expanded. Additionally, the expenditure side of the budget benefited as well because the unemployment rate was significantly reduced.
Using the Congressional Budget Office's revenue forecasts (made with the full knowledge of the future tax cuts), revenues came in much higher than had been anticipated, even after the "cost""of the tax cut had been taken into account. Additionally, in 1965--one year following the tax cut--personal income tax revenue data exceeded expectations by the greatest amounts in the highest income classes.
Testifying before Congress in 1977, Walter Heller, President Kenned''s Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, summarized:
What happened to the tax cut in 1965 is difficult to pin down, but insofar as we are able to isolate it, it did seem to have a tremendously stimulative effect, a multiplied effect on the economy. It was the major factor that led to our running a $3 billion surplus by the middle of 1965 before escalation in Vietnam struck us. It was a $12 billion tax cut, which would be about $33 or $34 billion in today's terms, and within one year the revenues into the Federal Treasury were already above what they had been before the tax cut.
Did the tax cut pay for itself in increased revenues? I think the evidence is very strong that it did."
Not only the black's, but all of us who pay taxes are waiting for some return from the goverment, lets say in the form of a check or distribution of income, but what really makes me to think and worry is all about our every day economy, where this turmoil will end, in the devaluation of the american dollar as one of the leading monies?, or is the plan for AMEROS to be part of the 700 billions of the administration? If this happen, we al better be thinking on another way to support our lives and the one we love and care, our families.
I just stood on line, in the rain on a Saturday, for 45 minutes, to participate in early voting in North Carolina. According to the tally on the voting machine I turned my ballot into, so did 8000 other people - the machine next to it recorded another 8000.
And as I left, I noticed the line was even longer now than when I stood on it earlier.
Say what you want about our political system - it is wasteful, corrupt, and prone to vulgar excesses. All of that is true, and none of it matters.
What matters at the end ot fhe day is we are government of the people, by the people. Power will transfer peacefully. It is truly a wonderful thing, and I was proud to participate. So was a young man behind me, a first time voter, his grandmother proudly explaining the ballot to him.
I wonder what the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, China, Zimbabwe, and a dozen other countries would say if they saw that peaceful line? Would they look on in disbelief? Envy? I believe they would.
In this rancorous, uneasy time, it is worth reflecting on how lucky we are to live in America.
Please remember to vote.
in response to you about the elections in other countries, the mexican way I personally study is better, because the winner is elected by popular vote ( vox popully), and not by an electoral college, that actually not represent the popular vote
I believe not only the black's, but everyone of us that are tax payers are expecting some benefit to came back, either in the form of a check or a distribution of income, but my really concern is, what's really gonna happen with the american economy?, afther the 700B baill out, we all was expecting some recovery, and the reallity is been the opositive, with the stock market plumbing like never before, is this the way they want to spreed the bill and devaluet the american dollar?, is tha AMERO the ending point of this?. If I'm wrong ( and I hope I'm wrong ), please anybody let me know, but first to any response, please be informed about the devaluation of the mexican peso made in early 90's and the consecuense on global economy, I been seeing the same factors here right now
2:39:50 PM: I agree with your comments in their entirety. I have long espoused beliefs that are very similar to yours to my friends. When it comes to elections, I just do not understand human nature. I see it all around me. Guys like Joe the Plumber who would benefit greatly by an Obama win say they are voting for McCain because he is redistributing income.
In one of my college economics classes, we were studying the theories of Keynes. Keynes believed that the distribution of income was one of the functions of the central government. He also believed that money tends to trickle upwards, not downwards as many Republicans would have us believe. If this were not so, then the spread between the super wealthy and the middle and lower classes would not be growing.
one of the most fascinating thing i find about white america is that precentage wise it is the white middle class who are taking a beating from mcclain and his cronnies in washington and the claim mthat it is the poor blacks but the poor blacks have already learned to live poor coming out of slavery and percentage wise it is the white middle class who get the home loans and who are being forclosed and now that a black man is on the doors to the white hose they acuse him of every despictable thing you can imagine while lifting up a great white hope mcclain whos been in washington for over 27 years and now decided to help them go figure 8 years of bush policy now hes for the people says hes for the people but i dont recall in my 53 years on the earth hearing a massive news outburst on mcclain mavericking for the people until now go figure they say if you keep kicking a dog in the behind and he dont more keep kicking him because hes either dump or a racist and this is why whites dont want to vote for obama so the white middle class will keep getting kicked 4 more years massive white middle class being regulated to as we call poor blacks status good job white poeple for sticking to you racist behavior at least that shows something if nothing but dedication while suffering wit the rest of us poor hard working americans of the other color
well if obama has already won the electoral votes, why bother to even vote. I think the november voting is a waste of precious time. just escort obama to the oval office and give him the key. oh yeah, and dont forget to tell mccain.
It is purely a matter of intelligence aand at a time when intelligence is called for. I am a Vietnam era veteran and sick of McCain and his failed military career, beginning with bottom of the class at Annapolis and then 5 jets crashed, and then 132 military servicemen killed when he wet-started his jet prior to take-off on the USS Forrester. He suffers from arrogance disease and then add his war hawk approach and his age of 72. Palin is not fit for anything in Washington, DC. Perhaps Alaska, or Hollywood, but not the White House.
Intelligence trumps ignorance and arrogance every time...
What do you really know about Obama???s economic philosophy? Since he has never run a town, state or business, he has no record to look at. Oh, he has made lots of promises, but given that he broke his promise to be limited to public campaign funds, you can???t put much faith in that, and there will be means to keep those promises anyway.
But you do know that Obama, along with his democratic buddies in Congress, personally and professionally advocated for a residential housing policy favoring forced sub-prime lending, which subsequently resulted in massive defaults and foreclosures, leading to your loss of significant equity value in your home, to the point that it destabilized your banks, which panicked the stock market, which wiped out your savings.
Look and listen to Obama for yourself. Obama in this video, addressing his community activist work and his work representing ACORN in litigation against the banks and relating to the Community Reinvestment Act, and addressing the failure of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae as those actions relate to the destruction of our economy by causing the current real estate and subsequent financial crisis, states that, and I quote:
"Subprime lending started out as a good idea, helping Americans buy homes who previously could not afford to. Financial institutions created new financial instruments that could securitize these loans, slice them into finer and finer risk categories, and spread them out among investors and around the country, as well as around the world. In theory, this should have allowed mortgage lending to be less risky, and more diversified."
Acknowledging the catastrophe, but as apologist for the Democrats, Obama then offers this justification.
"The original idea was a good one, which was, lets see if we can distribute risk more broadly, and make it easier to provide loans to people who otherwise might not be able to get one."
Yah, great idea. Economically unsound, but embraced by Obama. Listen for yourself. You cannot dispute the mans on words recorded live:

(oops!) stating that Freddie Mac was spending tax payer money to target Republicans in 2005 who were trying to regulate Fannie and Freddies fraud. Democrats were not targeted, as the were all in the tank with Fannie and Freddie to kill the regulations. Hear that, the article admits that Republicans were trying to regulate Freddie and Fannie, and Democrats were trying to stop it from happening as a means to facilitate the Community Reinvestment Act.

Stating that Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act wasn't what caused the meltdown, and noting that "economists on both sides of the political spectrum have suggested that the act has probably made the crisis less severe than it might otherwise have been."
In the exchange with "Joe the plumber" we find out that Obama really is as radical as his early political acquaintances, Davis, Ayers, Wright, etc., and that he is into the failed economic policy of wealth redistribution. Obama's tax and spending plans alone would be bad enough, but add Reid and Pelosi to the mix, with the three of them controlling both houses of Congress and the executive branch without any effective restraint, and you have something that should causes concern even among moderate Democrats.
See Wall Street Journal: A Liberal Supermajority:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122420205889842989.html
Their failed policies are what brought us to ruin. Even Bill Clinton says so. Obama and a supermajority of Democrats simply is not the change we need, nor is it change we can afford.
THE GREAT BUSH DEPRESSION
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
He perfectly predicted the current meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen next
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything seen in generations
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand how its been broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use quantum mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He was the last to know somthing was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a budget surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that
Stand up and hold them accountable
Bush isn't on the ballot this year but his policies are
Elect Obama Biden 2008
Check out this video of sarah palins interview and ask your self if she understands what she is talking about.

I am praying for you Senator Obama to be not only a president for the Democrats, but for the Republicans, for black, for white, for everyone. I am also praying that you are one of the wisest leaders. God Bless. I also pray that we get our old Senator McCain back, we miss him.
I will not be voting for Obama and Biden. I am from Illinois, and I do not feel that Obama has enough experience to run our country. He is a Junior Senator and is also linked to the scandal in Illinois government. I know that i do not trust anyone that is linked to this scandal. Our government in Illinois is in a real mess because of our Gov. and he is linked with the scandal also. Vote McCain/Palan
staceybeth2000
Senior Senator and Junior Senator are terms commonly used in the media to describe United States Senators. Each state sends two senators to serve in the Senate; the longer (continuously) serving of the two is by convention referred to as the senior senator, and the other is referred to as the junior senator. If both are elected at the same time (e.g., one in a regular election and the other simultaneously to fill the seat of a senator who resigned), the one who is sworn in first is senior.
Richard Durbin who is senior senator is 64, so until he retires or loses his seat Barack will be Junior senator. The point is, if this case were reversed, Durbin 64 would be a junior senator until Barack 47 loses an election or retires.
Do you think Palin is qualified? She can't even read a script. Do yourself (and the country) a favor and watch Colin Powell's endorsement of Obama. He knows both men well and has personally observed their decision making capabilities. I'm guessing he knows them better than you.
...........................................It looks like Obama needs only about 20 Electoral Votes to put an end to the Eight Year Disasterous George Bush Nightmare...........America will move into a New Era of Peace and Prosperity and return to a position in the World of again being respected among Nations..............Cheers,,,,, Here Is To America, Back On Track Again!!!!!!!!!
Hey, the environmental prophet is right, both candidates (especially the black guy that looks like tiger woods) are evil. I would like to stand by Mr. Fan because if we can stop everyone from voting, maybe NO one will get elected. And then the prophet of the environment can take his rightful role as the world's leader.
Muhahahahahahaha....

What's Wrong With "W"? --- George W. Bush's Political Troubles Affecting Economic Trend And Outcome Of Election. Part III.
by Jordan C. Fan, Prophet Of Environment.
(10) Serious battles are raging between corporate executives and stockholders. Greed plays an important role in the downfall of the Bush administration. There are plenty of corruption in the Federal, state, and local government. Even civilian and military personnel aboard are corrupt. The two major political parties are too busy choking each other's throats than to care about corruptions and government inefficiency. Racial tension will prevent both side from criticizing each other especially on racial sensitive matters in the workplace and society. Political correctness forbids anyone from commenting on anything. (11) Lack of cooperation from the media. American media are extremely bias. Bush's strong arm policy and his challenging of the press have worsen the situation and washed away media supports. The situations were especially serious when many of Bush's policy are implemented without good reasons and full of loopholes. His confrontation with the media brought about his final demise. (12) I don't think John McCain should be penalized by mistakes made by his predecessors. George W. Bush is a spoiled heir to a well-to-do family while McCain is a well polished, fully trained, disciplined, tough and no nonsense soldier and politician. They are simply men of totally different breed. McCain will certainly perform better and have more motivation to achieve his objectives. McCain will challenge America's highly bias media, reuniting Congress and stamping out corruptions in government and corporations. (13) During this Halloween Season, election and other important matters especially those of competition in nature will undoubtedly control or release by my supernatural and spiritual forces. Anything can happen now with little or no predictions and protection to anyone. More than likely some Scarecrows who hidden behind the Bush will suddenly jump out to scare you or haunt us. So expect the unexpected! Additional branches on Bush should continue to grow or fall here during this highly catastrophic Fall Season and beyond, or you may want to add or subtract some of his failure. May the Great Spirit of Halloween prevail and bring about my success!

(7) Also since the Civil War, the U. S. has been trying to destabilize the world. First they attacked Britain, Spain and then China during the Eight Nations Invasion (Boxer Rebellion) of the Qing Dynasty. After that, the U. S. had exported their rebellious ideology to countries such as Serbia to initiate and then participate in World War I. The U. S. also supported the British to start WWII. In addition, the U. S. has continuously staging revolutions, coups, protests and demonstrations using freedom, liberty, human rights and racial independence as excuses. Finally such U. S. strategy came back to haunt Bush and his efforts in the Middle East. The expansions have all failed due to human rights violation issues. Same situations also caused the American failure in Vietnam. (8) In addition to unity problems, the American economy have collapsed since the Great Depression of late 1920-30. The only reason they are still surviving is to use the method of "robbing Peter to pay Paul." To achieve such goal, the U. S. resort to massively wasting our world's natural resources on unnecessary and redundant projects. In many cases, Americans will simply throw away perfectly functional items so that they can manufacture new ones to stimulate industry. There were also welfare and research programs which have little or no clients. Their government also encourage fraud in those programs, in addition to forcing and harassing other countries into supporting American wasteful policies. (9) Failure of education programs. No matter how hard the American government has tried, their education programs failed. Americans are simply not in the mood to study. More than half of the school children never even bring their books home. Others are too busy participating in extracurrricular activities in sports and social events. At home, students are often too busy arguing, dating, watching movies/TV, playing music, video games, chatting on the phones and Internet. Most children were seriously affected by their financial and family problems to pay any attentions to study. Little or no one were interested in studying or other activities which could improve their employment qualification. Rich families will send their children to private schools. Most companies already have plenty of well trained high level workers and have no need to support education. In fact they need more lower level labors to fill routine jobs. The United States have no choice but to bring in immigrants or outsourcing to India to fill the gaps. This also resulted in income and export shortfall. The failure to overturn affirmative action at the Supreme Court has damage the quality of education further.
No matter how McCain and Palin beat about the bush, they have shown that they do not have a handle on the economy. They will drive this country further into the ground. Talk about taunting the enemy and fighting in Iraq till the last soldier...We are about to see the US military might zeroed out by McCain the war munger. With his Hot temper, diplomacy is a no go. His healthcare plan leaves a lot to be desiired for the common American. How does McCain intend to create jobs? " He just responds by saying, I will fight for America..." All they (McCain and Palin have done is, fill the air with empty words. No solid "how to's" . Every American would be contented with a job and health care. Then we can bicker about the rest. McCain is short on both ends. As for Sarah-de-Wasila, she is an apology for a vice presidential candidate. Sorry .
