It is impossible to overstate how deeply the attachs of 9/11 have pained our country. Those who were directly effected with either losing a friend, family member, or their lives always deserve our deepest respect. This does not mean it is unfair to criticize what has unfolded over the last 7 years. The world is a dangerous place, it always has been and will always be. With the geographical advantage America has being an ocean removed from Europe and Asia it was easy for us to forget this. What makes our country so great is that we do not allough evil to change us. Unfortunatley this has happened and one compromise led to another led to another and suddenyl we are torturing people for the greater good. Right now, we have to take stock of where we are as a country. My vote will go for a more hopeful future in which we rely on the collective strength of the global community. It is possible to be stong and forceful of America's interests while involving the world. Please make sure you at least look at what the candidiates policies, character, and intelligence say about what kind of leader they will be. My choice is Obama.

May be that CRACK-HEAD Obama will legalize your dope for you. Clinton was enough especially after the Monica Lewinskie scandle. Now you dem's want to put an admitted cocain abuser in office......NO WAY ....VOTE FOR SEN. McCAIN

St. Germain all federal employees are subject to mandatory and random drug tests. Your crack-head claims and comments about Obama are baseless and tasteless. You sound like a total degenerate and low-life. What's done in the dark will come clearly to light.

you ill informed obama freaks. i would like anyone here to give an example (with proof) of anything obama has done. you all just follow blindly i guess it is because he is black and you feel it is the right thing to do. your messiah has made the second highest in kickbacks from the lobbyists of freddie mac and fannie mae. he claims he is the reason for the stimulus checks handed out earlier this year (if you check your facts you will see he had nothing to do with them and was not even present to vote on it). he has changed out the american flag for his own made up symbol. he has gone to a church for 20+ years that preaches hatred of man and country. he has ties to a several terrorists. he does not have americas interests in mind. you all think he is going to give you tax breaks you need to check taxes under clinton and now under bush. you will find if you are married making 50k a year you are saving over 1700.00 a year. the media is so bias in their coverage it is sickening and just as sickening of how all of you eat it up. this country is in the mess it is because of people like you who do not research the people you vote for you just take what you hear and make your ill informed decisions when voting. i would not subscribe to this trashy newsweek or cnn or mnsbc or any other media outlet that does not report the news unbiased. so until any of you have a legitimate gripe with facts to back it up and not something you heard from you friend or the media then i do expect you to respond to my comment . if you do some homework and have a legitimate arguement then we can talk.

Obama entered Harvard Law School in 1988. In February 1990, he was elected editor of the Harvard Law Review. Obama graduated magna *** laude From Harvard in 1991.

Partnering first with Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN), and then with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Obama successfully introduced two initiatives bearing his name. "Lugar-Obama" expands the Nunn-Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons, including shoulder-fired missiles and anti-personnel mines.

The "Coburn-Obama Transparency Act" provides for a web site, managed by the Office of Management and Budget, listing all organizations receiving Federal funds from 2007 onward, and providing breakdowns by the agency allocating the funds, the dollar amount given, and the purpose of the grant or contract.

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In August 2005, he traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks.Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. At a meeting with Palestinian students two weeks before Hamas won the legislative election, Obama warned that "the U.S. will never recognize winning Hamas candidates unless the group renounces its fundamental mission to eliminate Is rael." He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya. The speech touched off a public debate among rival leaders, some formally challenging Obama's remarks as unfair and improper, others defending his positions.

In the first month of the newly Democratic-controlled 110th Congress, Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D???WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act", which was signed into law in September 2007.

He joined Charles Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections.<

Re the swing to McCain -- why are people surprised? Because the Democrats should have the election in a cake walk this year. Obama is turning off the middle, moderate voter, as the country gets to know him and Biden. Obama fans should stop calling anyone not for their guy, "idiots, stupid racists dumb etc" This condescending attitude is one of the reasons people are turning away from the democrats.

    • Posted By: ThinkingBeing @ 09/24/2008 11:26:14 PM

Actually, now that people are getting to know more about McCain & Palin people are turning TO the Democrats, TO Obama/Biden---As every single poll now shows. I believe that very few Americans will end up falling for the lies, fear-mongering and mediocrity of the GOP ticket. They are wise to it now. They want a leader to move us away from the mess, not further into it.

      • Posted By: McCainCursingYouTube @ 09/30/2008 6:43:48 PM

Yeah! What polls are you looking at that shows a rise in Rebublicans?

  • Posted By: Independent from PA @ 09/29/2008 7:35:21 PM

As a 45 year old independent from PA, I believe Obama has the right vision, judgment and temperament to lead America at this formative time. The recent debate was very telling!

    • Posted By: tippology1 @ 09/29/2008 10:08:50 PM

I believe at 45 a young age your vision and memory is question if you think Barry won the debate.

      • Posted By: McCainCursingYouTube @ 09/30/2008 5:52:38 PM

Find a poll that states McCain won.

        • Posted By: neos @ 09/30/2008 6:32:54 PM

I think you should have said one REPUTABLE poll. Otherwise some dittohead is certain to find one at Faux News that supports McCain.

  • Posted By: bdhotwheel @ 09/18/2008 2:43:11 AM

Comment: You think this race is close?

Obama is supported by less then thirty percent of the voting public and ninety percent of the media elite. When all is said and done we will be sitting down to watch the networks belly up to a healthy helping of crow while listening to Democrats cry about how unfair it was that people would actually vote for God and country rather then to commit to pocketbook issues of the immoral minority.

I second that motion. I just switched from Democrat to Independent and will vote for McCain. Obama just don't cut it for me. Just another car salesman. We don't need that in the White House. There are already people like that. Can you say Pelosi?
    McCain/Palin 08

    • Posted By: McCainCursingYouTube @ 09/30/2008 6:24:55 PM

What? Did you see Sarah Palin's interviews? You have got to be kidding. Even if you hated Obama, you can not put her anywhere near the white house.

Do you really thing that he is an tabula rasa? That logic doesn't hold water. Did you see the Sarah Palin interview?

  • Posted By: Chkadee @ 09/19/2008 7:35:11 PM

Unfortunately we are doing a lot of good things in Iraq the media just doesn't report it. Go talk to your local military. Whether you like it or not our freedom comes at an expense. If we just up and pull out we will have even more anger from the very people we are trying to help over there. Obama wants to pull the troops out of Iraq and doesn't want to drill off of our own shore... so then what is the plan? Oh that's right were just supposed to take him at his word that he will change things. Yikes!!!

    • Posted By: kle5507 @ 09/20/2008 1:02:59 AM

Obama doesn't want to drill and yet, oil price is dropping. The "good" we're doing in Iraq will not last if the Sunnis awakening does not hold or the Medi Army take up arms again. Is your world so simple? Or are you just retarded?

ACORN - will this organization decide the next president through voter fraud? They have been found guilty of it before, Yet they continue to do it. And why has Obama sent thier organizaiton $800,000 then tried to hide it? With ACORN and the MEDIA, how can Obama lose?

These uneducated and OLD redneck Republicans are traitors to this country, allowing our economy to be sabotaged by their thefts with no oversight so that the rich could prosper even more while common folks suffered. We need to set-up a draft that sends all of these Republicans to go fight in Iraq and Pakistan so that we can get rid of them once and for all while they clutch their bibles and flags.

    • Posted By: McCainCursingYouTube @ 09/30/2008 5:50:20 PM

There are proud rednecks in this country and most are decent people.

I understand rich republicans voting for the McCain/Palin ticket, but how do lower income republicans vote for a ticket that only uses them for votes and then throws their supporters in the dumpster until the next four years.

  • Posted By: Dewey Defeats Truman @ 09/29/2008 4:49:33 PM

I do believe the electoral map is bit outdated and rather conservative in its presentation. Barack Obama should carry all eastern states handily. I believe he will win Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada. The states in the old Confederacy are safely in McCain's column with the exception of Florida and Virginia. I am surprised Indiana is rated as a toss-up state. Indiana has been a reliable GOP stronghold for several elections---LBJ was the last Democrat to carry the Hoosier State. Indiana is one of the first states to report on election night---if Barack Obama carries Indiana then John McCain is in serious electoral trouble. I do believe Barack Obama will win in November but the election per se will be close--both in the Electoral College and the popular vote. The result s should mirror the Gerald Ford--Jimmy Carter contest in 1976.

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/30/2008 4:55:03 PM

Isn't it interesting that it appears that West Virginia will rejoin the Confederacy, while Virginia will finally join the Union.

As an 15 year old girl, i dont think either Obama or McCain will do a good job running America. If i had to choose i would go for McCain. Look at what Obama is stating. It would be safer to have McCain.

Democrats beware! Nixon's "silent majority" may very well give McCain the rustbelt and Pennsylvania. Gallup tracker has the rustbelt, Colorado, and Minnesota as tossups with McCain and Obama either even or slightly ahead within the margin of error.

    • Posted By: agent8833 @ 09/29/2008 5:04:27 PM

By giving this election to McBush, USA will miss a great deal of once in a century chance to leave past behind and look ahead to future. I know there ar sizable number of Nixonites still around, but look what had happened to their mantor! Does anyone care for him?

  • Posted By: Barbie123 @ 09/29/2008 12:50:49 PM

At some point I hope that people see past Obama's color and vote the only way a true American can, what's best for the nation.....anyone can see that John McBush does not put country first, the surge is working, he votes against veteran bills, he picks the silly woman from Alaska, heck her popularity is falling in Alaska she's making all Alsatians look stupid

  • Posted By: TruthForward @ 09/26/2008 1:08:32 PM

Obama is likely to win because people who are for him, are not going to change now: And they will vote. However, McCain will loose some supporters in the coming weeks.

    • Posted By: Simpleton @ 09/28/2008 2:09:36 AM

Nope, Obama has no chance. He is up against racism which pervades a majority of the voters.

      • Posted By: Bella333 @ 09/29/2008 11:25:01 AM

I have to agree with you on the racism issue. It is sad to say, but people would rather see their country fall and or suffer for another 4 years because of their racist views. If that is the case, then America deserves the outcome that it will get for voting the wrong person in office. We all know Palin is not qualified, but if you have racist views, it is better to put an unqualified person in office than the guy who looks different.

      • Posted By: mccaincursingonyoutube @ 09/28/2008 5:19:36 PM

When people are facing losing their life savings, banks closings, and rampant corruption, they will vote for a toad if they believe that it can make their situation better.

Sociologist state that we treat people a manner that is appropriate for their position. Obama made a believer of many that viewed the debate according to the CBS poll. He looked like JFK, for which people remembered a time when things were better and will vote for Obama in an effort to return to a time of peace and prosperity.

  • Posted By: BJP225 @ 09/29/2008 10:23:32 AM

I am 99% sure Pennsylvania, Virginia, Michigan and Wisconsin will go with Obama. I would consider Ohio a tie. I think Colorado is leaning Obama. I think the events of the past five days and John McCain's bizarre conduct, coupled with the urgent state of our economy, are giving independents the nudge they needed to decide to go for Obama. I am a white female over 61 and I am for Obama. I live in Mcihigan. Need I say more?

  • Posted By: Morgan2008 @ 09/23/2008 7:26:22 PM

When the day of truth comes on November 4th John McCain will get most of the swing votes. Barack Obama is an empty suit and a bag of hot wind. He is all empty rhetoric talk and the majority of experienced voters know it. He doesn't have a record to back up anything he says. Barack Obama has zero leadership experience. He doesn't even have an impressive record in the senate unless you call voting present 130 times an impressive record...proof he has a problem with making a decision. All the campaign promises he has been making to first time voters he has recruited to vote for him are just empty promises he won't be able to keep because America is already deep in debt. You see how little he knows about what is going on ...making big giveaway promises without the money to back it up. Barack Obama is a slick talking flim- flam man from the Chicago political machine politics who tells you whatever he thinks will get you to vote for him. Obama tries to blame the current economic crisis on John McCain which is utter nonsense. Wall Street Executives, the entire congress and the administration along with the ignorance of many Americans thinking they could get something for nothing when they signed up for those destined to fail mortgages caused the financial crisis. There is plenty of blame to go around on this crisis. Congress needs to get past their partisan ways and more concern for their own political careers than doing their job of serving the people who sent them to congress to represent them. This week is a good test for congress to work in a bipartisanship way to help ease the current economic mess and hopefully keep it from getting worse. John McCain has the record of working with democrats and republicans in bipartisanship to get the job for the people done. Sarah Palin has a record of challenging and beating the establishment. McCain/Palin is the right ticket for America in this perilous time. NOBAMA

Obama voted over 4000 times in the Illinois Senate; only a tiny handful of his votes were "present." The NY Times points out that "a present vote is not unusual in Illinois," and it is often used to protest bills that may be drafted unconstitutionally or as part of a broader legislative strategy. So please stop spreading this incorrect statement about Obama's record in Illinois.

    • Posted By: mccaincursingonyoutube @ 09/28/2008 5:26:42 PM

Look at the latest polls. McCain in almost sure to loose. Swing States? Just do the math. Try to get McCain to 270 using the latest electoral map. It is almost impossible.

Obama's ground game is amazing. I am in Las Vegas and went door to door in Las Vegas with to volunteers from Las Angeles. They were about 22 and just wanted to make a difference.

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/26/2008 2:21:49 PM

I bet you supported Bush in 2004, and look where that has gotten us. let's ship the neocons and thier philosophy overseas to our enemies where the damage it brings can do some good..

    • Posted By: constitutionlawprofessor @ 09/23/2008 10:47:42 PM

Do I detect a little racism here? So filled with hate that you would say anything to ignore the impact on the American people caused by Bush Cheney, McCain and the rest of the neo-cons.

  • Posted By: proud2brepublican @ 09/26/2008 6:00:14 PM

It isn't likely that Obama is going to win. If the American people vote for someone that doesn't stand for anything where is that going to put us?

    • Posted By: Simpleton @ 09/28/2008 2:08:15 AM

      Yes, that's why they'll vote for Palin-McCain.

Obama won't win, because a majority of the voters are racist.

      • Posted By: mccaincursingonyoutube @ 09/28/2008 5:10:27 PM

Well the polls tell a different story. Obama wins and by very likely larges numbers. Go to CNN and play with the electoral map and you will see that McCain is dead in the water.

Don't forget. Sarah Palin. Obama's ace in the hole. Thanks John.

  • Posted By: ranimargo @ 09/27/2008 8:10:50 AM

I believe the latest polls in NC show Obama up by 2 points (49 Obama, 47 McCain. Why aren't you reporting this? When do we at least shift to "tie"?

    • Posted By: mccaincursingonyoutube @ 09/28/2008 5:04:13 PM

It is only reported if it is a trend. This could simple be an aberration.

Let's revisit it over the next few days, and if he is still ahead you will hear lots of reports about McCain losing the race. I have gone over the electoral map and New Hampshire is very important. I live in Las Vegas and i don't think that he can turn my state blue. If he turns Virginia blue, then he wins handedly.

The map becomes impossible for McCain to win as it stands today.

  • Posted By: Greateridea @ 09/27/2008 10:13:18 AM

I like the debates on taxes, and international experience, but when are we going to see more on the abortion question. The last time I checked McCain was against " Partial Birth Abortion " and Obama was all for it. This will definitely affect who I will vote for in November.

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/27/2008 11:24:23 AM

This will definitely affect who I will vote for as well. The Democratic platform will stop the disasterous economic and education policies of the last 8 years that have brought an increase in abortions during the Bush years. Fighting poverty, making health care available to all, and age appropriate sex education will accomplish more than self-righteous calls for re-criminalization ever will..

      • Posted By: mccaincursingonyoutube @ 09/28/2008 4:55:40 PM

  • Posted By: suzvoter47 @ 09/28/2008 4:54:57 PM

Wow am I ever surprised to see Indiand of all states now a toss up and possibly going to Obama, Indiana has been a Republican state forever. Looking at some of these states that are toss up and leaning blue it is becoming more clear that people are starting to THINK instead of vote party line.

One thing that has becom very clear in recent days is that in the event that McCain with his age and health record bacame seriously ill or died that Palin is WAY out of her league. McCains choice was unfair to her from the start and like many of his impulsive, shoot from the hip acts shows more and more each day that his judgment is poor.

Refelecting on the debates, his body language told me more than his words. As is known by professsionals in psychology 80 percent of what a person says comes from their body language, McCains indicated anger, and hostility and his inabiltity to look at Obama directly indicates he would not be one to try diplomacy and if frustrated or in disagreement with another head of state very likely would have difficulty finding middle ground of any kind. That is a scary thought as we are at odds with many countries and even our allies are not to thrilled with the actions and "bully" perception of the current administration. Do we really need more hostilty our nation is strecthed on all fronts and our new administration must be able to show a willingness to negotiate and use other means with countries we diasgree with other than military ot force. Force should be are last resort not first. Im afraid McCain would do the opposite as that is what he appears to know best.

McCain appears to have changed since 2000 froma person with flexability to one of cyncism, exuding sarcasm. Our country needs hope and hope for change. McCain cannot deliver not due to lack of experience but rather to experience that has colored his judgement and world dark.

    Independent voter for Obama/Biden
