Last night at the Forum McCain proved to the world that he is a knee-jerk reationist, and Obama thought things through. Which one would you want with his finger on the Nuclear Bomb Button? The Neo-Cons or a person who REASONS.?

When Mr. Dole lost, as an irrelevant fossil with no campaign, he went on to sell blue pills.
Maybe McCain can shill for dementia meds. He has embraced every element he ran against in 2000.
John, we hardly knew ye.
Constitutionally one could argue that Hillary and Bill could be considered the same and hence Bill Clinton could be considered under the legal fiction as serving a third term in a Hillary Clinton Presidency.
Our Constitution is relatively brief and the writers of 22nd Amendment in 1949 also had to be brief and did not envision or address every potential scenario. Because they did not exclude spouses does not imply that they meant to include spouses as being eligible to serve after one spouse has served two terms. When this amendment was passed in 1949, the lack of women in the Senate, House, and judiciary probably meant that consideration of spouses was not even on their radar at that time. Democrats have elliptically alluded to this Constitutional problem as saying it might be difficult with Bill around in a future presidency of Hillary Clinton. Yes it would be difficult for our Constitution. It is also difficult now to criticize Putin and his legitimacy because we have not been faithful to our Constitution thanks to the Democrats. The answer does have implications beyond our border because other countries look to the United States as a model of democracy or standard in which to emulate. The issue of term limits resonates thoughout the world from Zimbawe to Russia. Foreign countries also may not understand the nuances of our elections and Constitutional law and things that may be clear to us may not be so clear to foreign electorates and leaders.
So Limbaugh told you this is Bill Clinton's fault through Hillary?
I'm beginning to think G.O.P. stand for "Generally On Pills." Do you people all share or are you still sneaky, medicine cabinet snatchers?
You have got to be kidding Me !!!
1. McCain's Foreign Policy Advisor an Very Recently is a Former Lobbyist for (Georgia) is right there in the Thick of Things.
2. John McCain's Campaign stated that if a War Conflict were to Occur, it would Help Mccain..it will Not Now.
3. George W. Bush & John McCain made a Very Bad Choice in Choosing Hot Headed Saashkavilli as their (War Instigator-Tool) Because Bush's Administration are in fact using Direct Diplomacy and Not Force and have said, Military Force is Not in the Equation...Sorry
4. Joe Lie-berman has said that "John McCain would be the Best in a War Crisis based on his Experience" Not True, John McCain would have Started (Nuclear World War 1) and Noone Will ...WIN !!
Everybody in this (Conflict-Crisis) has Used Direct Diplomacy and as Obama has said, when asked, regarding this conflict, he said "We Only have One President at a Time"
Opposed to Hot Head Semi-Senile -John McCain !!
Your comments contradict each other.
When you do your research, at least try to get both sides of the story, and then use your intelligence to decipher what is true and what is propaganda.
Truth: The Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) has Globalization of the World as their primary objective. Google GLOBALIZATION CFR (It was originally called NEW WORLD ORDER slightly after 9/11/2001 when facts started coming out about the attacks and CFR's response - google ZEITGEIST)
While Obama's advisers are overwhelmingly CFR members, he stated he was against NAFTA, and NOW will only "renegotiate" NAFTA. His key phrase for months was "GLOBALIZATION". He is a "citizen of the world". Brzezinski - co-founder of Trilateral Commission - is his #1 adviser. Rockefeller -founder of CFR and co-founder of Trilateral Commission - endorses Obama.
At least when John McCain was asked about the NORTH AMERICAN UNION 2 weeks ago, he stated, "NOT UNDER MY WATCH." "I am American first and foremost." At least McCain will NOT be a CFR puppet.
What do George HW Bush, Dick Cheney, Zbigniew Brzezinski, David Rockefeller, Gary Hart, John Kerry, Chris Dodd, Tom Daschle, Robert Gates, Condoleeza Rice and Donald Rumsfeld have in common?? Their membership to the CFR and their vision for 1 world government controlled by the elitist members of the CFR.
Ask McCain today what he said about NORTH AMERICAN UNION two weeks ago and his answer will be different from what it was two weeks ago.
McCain's Adviser Scheunemann is the Architect of this war.
Americans will trust the report Senator Joe Biden brings back from Georgia.
I surely do hope Georgia was not acting out a Cheney role in an Iran play.
I'd be in Ladbrokes if they'd offer bets that Cheney DID start this with the Shrub out of town and Condi off on her vacation. Cheney's #1 job in this administration is to do the dirty things so the President could get away with trashing the Constitution, Treaties, Laws, Checks and Balances etc.
Georgia is controlled by United States. US is creating satelite states, not Russia and now supporting genocide in Osetia. Where is the US condemnation of the genocide? The last years coupleof years we have learned that it is ok for US to invade other countries, change regimes, torture, create illegal states, break international law on daily basis. Now genocide is also permitted. Any retaliation against US would be justified after this, my respect for the US could not drop lower
The reason there's no condemnation for Genocide in Ossetia is b/c it's a false story pushed by the ITAR-TASS news agency which is essentially government controlled and as such, completely unreliable in terms of the info they present. Try thinking for yourself once in a while and using some common sense. There is genocide and crimes against humanity occurring in Georgia, but it's being done by the untrained Russian 'Peace Keepers' and those separatist thugs.
They are just using words we used in Kosovo. Wait until they say: "Shock and Awe, Regime Change, Overwhelming Force, No Options Ruled off the Table, " and other Neo Con drivel for give me all of the oil.
I have been following the fighting in South Ossetia from the beginning and was impressed by the rapid deployment of tanks and infantry by Russia. Normally that operation takes a minimum of 3-5 days but was underway when the first shots were fired . The Russians reported 2000 civilian deaths occurred in South Ossetia the first day of fighting. In fact, it is impossible for the Russians or the Georgians to kill 2000 civilians hiding in the basements of masonary and brick building with the conventional artillery tanks, lauchers and small arms . Also, the wounded usually number 3-5 times the deaths. According to the local hospitals the actual number of deaths in South Ossetia is nearer a 100 not 2000 with an additional 200-300 injured. The Georgians have a similar number of civilians killed and wounded in the Russian advance through numerous villages and the capture of the city of Gori. On the military side the Russians have close to 100 killed or missing in action and the Georgia Army losses are close to 1000 killed or missing.
It is tragic that so many lives were lost and that more than 200,000 cvilians have been forced from their homes by one or the other Army and bands of roving militia out to loot rob and burn. Maybe our media will actually sort out the truth versus just publishing the exaggerated stories each side has reported.
were killed and injured on both sides.
Comment: Do you know what Grad can do? If you don't, ask Chiniese (Damanski story) or even WWII Germans. All building in huge area were destroyed in few minutes, burying everybody inside. Then Geordian tanks come finishing the deal - no rescue, no survivors, and no injured becides dead. To your information, Russian were criticised by their own media for using old weapon and military sequence of action - this was because they were not prepared and improvised, sending whatever they had around to save Ossetia.
This is correct, Russia did not use it's Airpower correctly at all or they would have trapped all of the comitted forces and not allowed the retreat to Tblisi. There was no Airmindedness or innovation, and many of the targets struck were of little military value, wasting sorties. You needed to immediately impound the battlespace to your command and control, understand it, then get ahead of the decision loop or tempo of your enemy.
Your ground forces continued to show vulnerabilities to irregular infantry, whom you should dispatch swiftly.
Your (and Russia's) observation that the reaction was cobbled and not as effective shows a General Staff that has had too much Dacha and not enough Map. The Bushwhackers have been toying around in these energy assets for some time and they, your Generals, knowing there was a dozen or more year history of United States military aid, should have been thinking... what if.
Ivan has kept a lot nearby since the 2nd Chechen war. His lines of communication are real short. ITN's Julian Mannon reported that much of the atrocities were comitted by Irregulars on both sides (Osset and Georgian) while the Russian regulars have been well behaved, for Russians. This place is a crossroads of History from Alexander, through Khans and Czars, etc. 200,000 refugees is a small historical sample in this area, all of the peoples are refugees from history geographically trapped between great powers.
commies are expect looters!!!
The American people will trust the report that Senator Joe Biden brings back today from Georgia.
Let us hope this is not another script from a Bush/Cheney Iran play, i.e. that the Bush administration may have encouraged Georgia to fire into South Ossetia.
I write no such blank checks brother. I love Joe Biden, but unless the document/presentation he returns with comports to the facts and international law, it's a mistimed stunt. Johnny MaC the barbarian's boy Scheunemann sold us the Iraq war and Achmed Chalabi. This looks like a Neo-Con oil play, Smells like a Neo-Con oil play, and has all of the same players. Except the neighborhood has changed and they have been dusting off an old boogeyman for a long time. One cold war was enough.
We can change the dates back to the late 1930's and change the name to Hiltler, the results will be the same, slowly Russsia will regain all its former territories while the world sits around and watches. Will we ever learn.
Who are you selling weapons to? Russia has a diaspora that are going to go Kosovo on us. You can't kick Ivan forever, and expect him not to bite back. For 5 years Bush has worked against Russian interests, and called them names. Bush and his ego have been a far greater threat to world peace, and the shadow executive and K street people who want the oil economy to predominate. What really is the difference between Tblisi and Baghdad? We lied to get Saddams oil, and shot at Russians to steal his.
The chinese had to shoot down one of their own satelites in space to show the Americans that they can not attack China even though they are building a rocket shield. Russia will have to increase its nuclear arselanal and place nukes in other regions to get around the rocket shield to restore balance against the American nuclear threat
I hope another world war is not started by another %$#@#$$ Balkan like WWI.
we need to bring an end to russas bullshit. take them to the un and nato to set restrictions on there control over there naboring countrys.
Take Russia to the UN? They are a permanent member of the Security Council like we are. NATO has no jurisdiction over Russia either.
Raddave, keep explaning to them hopefuly it will sink in.
What does the Balkans have to do with Georgia?
I watched very closely the early fighting in South Ossetia and was very surprised by the very rapid Russian Deploynment in force of tanks and infantry. That operation takes 3-5 days minimum to manage and the decision would have had to been made by the Russians about the time the first fighting began if not before!
Secondly, the Russian Army could not kill 2000 civilians in a single day taking shelter in basements of brick masonary homes with tank , artillery and small arms fire. The Georgian Army did not possess the weaponary necessary to inflict 2000 deaths and normally the wounded would be 3-5 times that number.
Those dead and wounded civilians the Russians reported have mysteriously not been found. Most that came to the local hospital were wearing army uniforms. The actual number based on the weapons deployed in South Osettia realistically is going to around 100 civilian deaths and 3-4 times that number injured. The deaths and injuries in Georgia will be about the same. The Russian Army lost less than 100 killed and the Georgian Army close to 1000. Both sides have a number missing in action. .
I would hope that most intelligent people would realize that in a war both sides exaggerate !!!!!
It is a TRAGEDY that innocent civilians were killed and wounded in South Ossetia and Georgia.
Do you know what Grad can do? If you don't, ask Chiniese (Damanski story) or even WWII Germans. All building in huge area were destroyed in few minutes, burying everybody inside. Then Geordian tanks come finishing the deal - no rescue, no survivors, and no injured becides dead. To your information, Russian were criticised by their own media for using old weapon and military sequence of action - this was because they were not prepared and improvised, sending whatever they had around to save Ossetia.
Would a new Russian President without a Prime Minister Putin in the background invaded Georgia this soon? Emboldened by his successful finesse of a continuation in power despite the Russian Constitution, Putin can look for support no further than the candidacy of Hillary Clinton and her finessing the 22nd Amendment of the United States Constitution. Cognizant of the candidacy of Hillary Clinton, Putin ignored the Russian Constitution on term limits and still stays in power as Prime Minister. Putin changed the Russian Constitution to perpetuate his control over Russia. Similarly, Hillary Clinton ignored the 22nd Amendment to our Constitution that restricts the President to two terms. Because Bill Clinton is not divorced from his wife, the election of Hillary would effectively give Bill Clinton a third term in office. In almost all states, there is a legal fiction that spouses are viewed as one or as a single person. You have joint custody over children and there is only one marital estate that is divided up at divorce. One spouse is liable for the debts of another spouse accrued during marriage. Spouses are liable for the negligence and torts of another spouse such as in car accidents.
Spouses stand in the shoes of another spouse and have the highest priority in making medical decisions where there is no health care power of attorney or expressed preference by the patient. Even at the federal level in tax and estate law, bankruptcy law, immigration law and criminal law there are laws, regulations and public policy considerations to view spouses as the same or nearly the same.
You have joint bankruptcy, joint tax returns, spousal privilege in criminal cases. Spouses are given highest priority in immigration matters. Under Social Security law there are survival benefits for spouses and ability to collect under another spouses contributions. While there are exceptions under federal law with provisions for separate tax returns, exemptions and separate bankruptcy filing the presumption is that spouses usually file jointly in tax and bankruptcy cases.
On the other hand, parents and adult children are view as separate under state and federal law. A parent is not liable for the debts or torts or wrongful actions of an adult child. A child is considered emancipated upon marriage and considered an adult. There is no parent-child privilege that can be invoked by either party in criminal law either at the state or federal level.
So mere relationship with a former two-term President does not answer question. There is historical precedent for father and son presidencies with our second President John Adams and sixth president John Quincy Adams and Bush 41 and 43. The type of relationship seems to matter under the concept of legal fiction in both state and federal law as it applies to spouses.

If it ever became apparent that McCain will win the election
the Russians will pull out of Georgia faster than you can say ???Ronald Reagan???(if they don't do so before then).
They know that McCain will go eyeball to eyeball with them if necessary. The Russians are
bold but not crazy and will back down.
To Obama, I???m afraid Georgia will just be the price of peace. But then he???ll be tested with Poland, Hungary
and the Baltics when it will become a lot more dangerous to respond..
If you remember, it was the reality that Ronald Reagan would be occupying the White House that got the ball
rolling on the Iranian hostages.
What planet are you living on? Regan got the hostages free by making an illegal deal called Iran-Contra not because he was some hero the rest of the world was afraid of. And as for Sen McCain bringing fear to the Russian goverment, I did get a good laugh out of that one. What can he do? Our military is fighting his "surge" in the middle east for the 18th month consecutively and really not capible of sustaining another front, the rest of the world has no confidence in, nor will it follow Sen McCain or Mr Bush. These are the results of this administrations shortsighted and failed foreign policy.
Not this time. Reagan had an American Military rebuilding across the board and excellent volunteer quality within the cadre. The United States had one strategic goal, containment. Within our national reserve pool were veterans of the draft era, dating to WWII.
Now we have an End-Strength total force less than the Army component available to Reagan. This military is deployed and fully employed in a rotational phase. We do not maintain the numbered army groups necessary to get loose in Asia at all.
Ivan has roughly 27 Million men under 50 who can muster and an equal number of women fit for national service. Ivan is in a rebuilding phase, has no deployment obligations, and is defending at home. (Historically, his best play...)
The oil people may have really messed up this time, and done the irresponsible on behalf of the unaccountable.
I wake up each morning in the hope that this nightmare is over. However, the war just continues and gathers steam. Now the first conclusions can at last be made. Firstly, Georgia has been preparing for this situation for a long time and these preparations have not been made by Georgia alone. It is clear that it was supported by the most reactionary circles of today???s governing elite in American. This is because as a result of this military aggression it is the Republicans who win, represented by candidate McKein, who managed to not only catch up with Obama but to be in advance of him. Thus, thanks to the heating up of the international situation by Georgia, the hawks are winning. That is why American as an acting power has invested so much money in Georgia.
Please go to the UN, and state this case. Before these idiots ignite the world in the flame of a nuclear war, shouldn't the whole world know what we wish the people of Tshkinvali knew before the rockets came? They should also publish at the same lectern a detailed case concerning the missiles in Poland, and the nature of that threat to your strategic interests. They should also see the Unites States domestic political agenda and the oil issues.
??????????????With great sorrow I have to state that we completely lost the information war. What they say of us abroad is terrifying. Saakashvili can be seen everywhere strongly resembling Hitler, tossing himself around, with a puckered mouth and with an idiot fringe, crying that Russia started aggression against Georgia. Yet, not a word is said that the Georgians first destroyed Tskhinvali and shot civilians and peace-makers. I do not even mention that Saakashvili has to be judged by the Hague Tribunal as an international criminal for the use of heavy artillery and "GRAD" multiple rocket launchers being used against living quarters. This is, for those who do not know, that "GRAD" launchers cover whole districts in their power. This weapon cannot "find out" who is right and who is guilty, and when the military hostilities destroy the whole network existing on a huge area (not only military facilities but the living quarters as well), it becomes clear that Saakashvili had a purpose to destroy the Ossetian people physically, and he succeeded in this killing by 2000 people in 1 day. If the European community judges Karadjich for genocide, so, obviously, Saakashvili has to be next in line.
Vadim,
This war was started by people with a public relations plan, who knew how the western media operates, with an eye toward the Unites States elections occuring in a few weeks. Putin was caught off-guard and stormed out of the Olympics in a complete rage. You were set up to look bad, and set up to be a boogieman for their continuing misadventures.
Personally, I see this as a complete tragedy in slow motion that is not going to stop. Abkhazia and S Ossetia are gone from Georgia now. Georgia lost any rights when they killed all the civilians in a filthy sneak attack on apartment blocks with rocket attacks. McCain and Bush may think this is a good thing, I think it is sick and evil. Very evil.
Russia also made a huge mistake in not publishing the attack on Sochi the night of the war. There are no pictures in the western media of the victims on the beach. Americans do not know these things. It would have changed opinions quickly.
What all of these mistakes really mean is that Russia wasn't ready for this war. The guy with the propaganda machine usually started the fight. In this war, CNN went in to out-Fox Fox. If they could get two Georgian mouthpieces to say the same thing, they ran with it. If a Russian Airplane popped a sonic boom near the Airport, two Georgians would declare an airstrike near the President, etc.
John McCain's #1 policy guy was a merchant of death in the Iraq war, and has a mercenary attitude toward foreign policy. Lavrov called this an American Project. He should fully explain that. Against such a pathological batch of liars, you'd better get your A game on fast. You had better get the attack on Russian soil solved, and make a broad case against this adventurism.
The American people are honest and fair, and loathe liars and deceit. Yours is the high moral ground if you would just act better than us.
The fact is that almost all present leaders of the Balkan States are puppets of the US. This is reminisence of what the US did in Latin America. The US is definitely not stopping at just installing puppets, because it is now installing missiles in Poland poised towards Russia and China. This is undeniable proof that the US has an open agenda to take on Russia and China.Only a bloody dumb, stupid and brainless moron will believe that the missiles are "shields" against Iran! (If so, the so-called missiles must be placed in Israel or Iraq). Russia is just responding to the US action.
To take advantage of the situation now, Russia must maintain its presence in Georgia and hold Georgia hostage and demand that the US remove all its military presence in the region including the removing of the missiles in Poland. Russia must then do what the US has done, to change the leaders in the region to be pro-Russia. The change must be subtle and persuasive rather than by brute force. This will instill confidence in the masses, starting by re-building the destruction in Gori and South Ossetia by using the oil money.
The US must not be allowed to be the master of the world because it will only bring hardship, death and destruction where ever it goes as history has proven.
Our dear president is mentally challanged. Our dear Vice President is a senile old sociopath.
But, what bothers me the most about our dear leaders is the fact that they aren't the kind of people who make realistic plans. The president can't plan a bicycle ride, let alone the evacuation of an entire city in the advent of a hurricane. And, the Vice President can't even plan an amicable quail hunting trip.
Putin IS the sort who makes realistic plans! And I have no doubt that he has realistic plans for us now that Bush has gotten us involved in this.
I wish that those in the Senate and the House who would be our future leaders would at least hold a special session to consult with us about what they believe needs to be done or perhaps not done.
Well, chalk up another one for the Ivy League. Saakashvili is just another in a long line of idiots to come out of those hallowed institutions. He joins such classic dumb-asses as George Bush Jr. and his wimpy daddy, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, John Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, etc. When you're best and brightest are dumb and dumber, you know you've got a problem. Are there any smart people in the Ivy League?
Russia should set a time-horizon for leaving Georgia, but it should be based on the situation on the ground as determined by the military leaders of Russia.
South Ossetia is to Georgia what Taiwan is to China. Its just amazing the level of hypocrisy by the Bush administration. Everything Bush and company are saying about Russia now was told to them before the Iraq war, and Bush didn't listen to anyone back then.
