It never ceases to amaze me how people on a consistant basis defend the sick policies of the the Bush administration by promoting and supporting "McCain't and isn't able to govern" for president. Totally laughable and totally sick. To consider the sourse of the supporting and promoting of another 4 years of the elitist regime of Bush and Cheney as the truth comes to bear it ugly blood on the brain head of corruption all over again.

Extend your lame and same PAIN with your vote for McCain

McCain has flop flipped and flip flopped and flop flipped and flip flopped more times than can be counted among the stars.

'No off shore drilling... ok off shore drilling to win the election.'

'No to timetable in Iraq... ok as long as it gets me into office. We can stay there when I'm elected.'

'100 years in Iraq... ok 16 months like Obama said as long as I'm the one to be elected. I can go back on my word when I win.'

'I support pork barrel spending... oops, I meant I was against it as long as I'm elected to office.'

'Bush is right all the time... No, Bush is wrong as long as I get to replace him.'

McCain, the same old politician. Nothing new, nothing different.

    Vote Change.

It's working. Polls show McCain in the lead, and the explanation is simple. The negative ads are helping. All McCain has to do is keep saying Obama will raise taxes, and will surrender in Iraq. All he has to do is keep implying Obama is not patriotic enough and is out of touch with average Americans; and he will win easily.

    Left Pia a reply.

McCain will drive this country into the ground. He spits on the his word of a civil campaign by telling lies. He stomps on the Constitution with his vile attempts to deny the U.S. citizens their rights and privacy by supporting Bush policy and maintaining the Administrations' doctrines. McCain is a soldier for Wrong. He is Wrong for the Presidency, he is Wrong for the elderly, he is Wrong for the tax payers, he is Wrong for our children, he is Wrong for our energy, he is Wrong.

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 08/19/2008 1:15:31 PM

McCain has no policy of his own so he adopts Obama's as his own. McCain has no agenda of his own so he lies and smears false statements about Obama. McCain has nothing to provide. He lies, he cheats, he steals, he suppresses. McCain, is he right for you?

I am COS and I approve this message. =)

Just curious about your name...does it reference illicit substances (as HolyCrazyRoller has ranted on about) or is it like smoke and mirrors? Like, the cloud of smoke that's blinding everyone (at least the GOP) from the truth? I realize this has nothing to do with the topic, but I've always been curious. I love how you get HolyRoller going--not that it's hard--but it's hilarious!

Just a name. I don't smoke anything but then again can't say the same about HR.

The Georgia conflict has shined a spotlight on McCain's chief foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann.

Scheunamann was a major organizer of the campaign to get the U.S to invade Iraq. He was a board member of the Project for a New American Century that circulated the now-famous manifesto signed by key Neo Cons that first called for the Iraq invasion. He was a founder of the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq. More recently he has been a paid lobbyist for a number of foreign governments including Macedonia, Taiwan and, most importantly, the Republic of Georgia.

According to records from the Justice Department's foreign agents registration office, Scheunamann's two-person firm has received $830,000 from Georgia since 2004. Though Scheunamann now claims to have taken a leave of absence from lobbying, his latest contract, with Georgia's National Security Council, was signed as recently as April 17th. According to the Los Angeles Times, McCain spoke by phone with Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili that day and then issued a statement denouncing Russian moves to "undermine Georgian's sovereignty."

The paper also cites lobbying forms filed by Scheunamann's firm Orion indicating that McCain sponsored or co-sponsored four Senate resolutions on behalf of Georgia and other Orion clients: Latvia, Macedonia, Romania and Taiwan.

The poor judgment McCain showed by appointing a man who was serving as a paid foreign agent to be his chief foreign policy adviser is simply breathtaking. It is even more so because of the history of the current conflict.

foreign policy blunders are without question McCain's strong point of consistency

    @ Hugh G.

Actually, these types of transfer payments have been in place in the US for nearly 80 years, producing the huge economic growth and prosperity we have experienced. They are also one of the core elements of the German, Japanese and overall Western European economic miracle of the last 50 years.

The countries in the world with the strongest economies and the highest standard of living all do this. So exactly why do you think it is a bad idea?

These are McCain's words in 2002. For all of you that don't see through the mud that McCain slings, or all the lies that he has spewed, read it for yourself.

"I didn't decide to run for President to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run campaign as if it was some grand act of patriotism.

I wanted to be President because it had become my ambition to become President.

I was 62 yold when I made the decision and I thought it was my one shot at the prize."

Again I say, McCain just wants the title, not the responsibilities.

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 08/20/2008 9:45:39 AM

Good smoke. I just talked about that. It's in McCain's book Worth the Fighting For.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 08/20/2008 9:44:11 AM

Who are the troops supporting. All four Armed Forces are pushing for Barack Obama. He has received over 330,000 dollars while McCain has received over 200,000. Troops in Iraq alone has given Obama over 65,000 dollars while McCain has only received just 10,000 dollars. Not even the troops want McCain as our next President. Since we have a Republican in the White House, Countries like Russia is pushing there might. We could push our might in Iraq, but can't keep a country who has no more power from invading another country. This is the Bush?McCain policy.

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 08/20/2008 9:36:25 AM

McCain has had since February to hone his campaign skills. McCain has had since February to form his committees and since then has been throwing people under the bus. McCain has had since February to develop his platform which he has not.

He doesn't want to be president. If he really wanted to be president he would have made a better name for himself while he had the opportunity to do so while Obama was battling Hillary (you all remember the one that was supposed to win). McCain would have righted the wrongs on his VA stances, he would have had a chance to address voting for a war that was wrong and will go down in history in infamy.

McCain doesn't want to be president. He just wants the title. He wants the perks that come along with it. He just wants power.

He doesn't want to be president. If he wanted to be president, he would be giving speeches on the socioeconomic issues the country and world faces which is what the leader of the free world is supposed to do; not stand in front of a crowd of people that already has money looking for a photo op.

If he wanted to be president he would be describing his policy on energy instead of throwing out a gas tax holiday or say he'd throw money at someone to come up with a battery idea that is already here. If he wanted to be president he would be stating his case to be president instead of attacking the person that wants to be president and perform the duties of that office.

Obama wants the job, not the title. He has already made the case to the people. He has already formed allegiances with other countries to deter and suppress terroristic activities and extremism. Obama has put his policies on the table and has let the people see them. He listens to those around him and is willing to work across the aisle to come to agreements on issues that affect us. Just ask Senators Hagel and Bachus.

    Vote Obama for President.

Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran - In April of 2008, McCain was asked what he would do about the growing tensions between Iran and Israel, as well as other Western nations. McCain responded by bursting into song, intoning "bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" to the tune of the Beach Boys' classic, "Barbara Ann." The problem there isn't McCain's misguided sense of humor- it's the lack of respect for the severity of a situation in which millions of lives (potentially American lives) are at stake. Had John Kennedy joked about blowing Cuba into oblivion during the Missile Crisis, who knows whether or not the standoff would have ended with a nuclear holocaust? Had Harry Truman publicly ridiculed the Japanese during World War II, it's possible that they would have been even more reluctant to surrender, dragging the war in the Pacific Theater out an additional 6 months or year, and costing the lives of thousands of additional American GIs.

Without a doubt foreign policy blunders are Mccain's strog points I think the RNC should keep promoting it as such. Ther is nobody who has more of a strong analogy on foreign affairs than john mcCain., LMFAO

Ha Ha Ha Ho Ho ho He He He

If it is PAIN you crave then your vote for McCain will establish years of the same

GMC just announced that they are hoping that McCain becomes the next President so that they can ship jobs overseas to Georgia. They said it would be cheap labor and Obama would tax the company if they would leave America and take jobs away from American people. This is just more proof that McCain is not for the hard working American people. He is for the rich and powerful. He already admited that he will give the rich a tax cut.

  • Posted By: jon-jon alter @ 08/20/2008 8:56:00 AM

yo jonjon I was alerted again by the citizens against pro-obama MSM bias. This is absolutely crazy -- even for you.

"But when he resorts to these kinds of falsehoods, and casts such aspersions on his opponent's patriotism, John McCain is no longer putting his country first. If he were, he would recognize that the interests of the nation require a relatively truthful campaign. To fulfill his image of himself, McCain should stop lying about his opponent. For a man with his claims to honor and integrity, that's not too much to ask."

Why not reread that as pertains to barry? Are you and NEWSWEEK working in the "interests of the nation require a relatively truthful campaign"? No way. Bias exists and NEWSWEEK is #1 and you are the headliner. And need I go into your crazy statement about not lying about his opponent? What about barry and his "change in positions"? And :for a man with his claims to honor and integrity? Isn't that barry's statement? How much "honor and integrity" did barry show when he allowed his camp (MSM/DNC) to tear apart the Clintons? What about barry's "above the fray" and no old Washington"? Does that include negative ads? What about this grand "transcender of race" who allowed race to be the single issue to dominate the Primary? What about this Messiah of Unity? Is not the Democratic Party irreparably divided? And whose fault is that? barry's a bunch of crap. And as far as "casting aspersions" about barry's patriotism - barry did a fine job of that all by himself. Standing there running as a presidential candidate with his hands intentionally over his parts instead of honoring the flag has nothing to do with Sen McCain. One picture is enough. And the flagpin pandering? And there's his official campaign jet he used on his mission to "increase America's (barry's) standings in the world" had his giant logo and CHANGE! and where exactly was the American flag? How was he advertising to increase our standing in the world? And Landstuhl? Nobody - not even you - can justify that. Casting aspersions? barry cast himself as a non-patriot since that steak fry in Iowa.

ps. Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance before his appearances is pandering to the nth degree. He is absolutely hysterical and so are you for taking him seriously and going to bat for him. You only get 27 outs and you surpassed that in March. Have you written up your article already that covers Wright's reappearance in late October with his book?

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 08/19/2008 10:29:57 PM

Summary: In her U.S. News & World Report column, Gloria Borger asserted that "[n]o one would accuse [Sen. John] McCain [R-AZ] of equivocating on anything." But McCain has done just that on a variety of issues, including tax cuts for the wealthy, abortion, teaching intelligent design to public school students, and the Confederate flag.

McCain said that he wants to give tax breaks to the wealthy.

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 08/19/2008 10:36:20 PM

Not only that, but his health care "plan" involves taxing all of us on our health care benefits that we share with our employers - he sees this as "extra income' that should be taxed. To pay for WHAT? Now if it were used to pay for medical care for ALL American citizens and people who set foot on American soil (including "illegal immigrants" and tourists), I'd bit the bullet and say, FINE - go ahead.

But he probably wants to use it to benefit the business execus, the business owners and even the insurance providers. His plan is radically different and not sure to work; it sounds like another TAX to pay for a was nobody wanted in the first place. We already pay taxes on our SOCIAL SECURITY INCOME, OUR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS and every other little thing. Why stop there, though, says McCain - let's tax their health care benefits on top of everything else to make it really difficult to find the dollars to pay for necessities in an economic downturn (or even during prosperous times).

McCrass sucks. I'm sick of the GOP in general, but the neocons are the worst.

      • Posted By: summer4077 @ 08/20/2008 8:16:54 AM

No no, notrouble, you have it all wrong. He wants to use the taxes on our healthcare benefits to further fund the fiasco in Iraq--wants us there 100 years! Looks like the kiddies in Baghdad are going to be enjoying some pretty snazzy swimming pools!

  • Posted By: jath123 @ 08/20/2008 8:13:36 AM

    Mr. Alter,

I must admit I am bit sick of hearing about Obama running ads in several states that are "below the radar" of the media . They are televised ads, for gods sake! There is nothing "below the radar" about them; there is nothing stopping the media from covering and analyzing them other than sheer laziness. The media is complaining about these ads simply because they weren't spoon-fed the distilled press releases they rely on so much these days. If Big Media has a problem with this, then maybe they should hire back some of their newsroom staff slashed in recent years, and pare back on the Infotainment garbage they spend so much time on lately.
