Barry. I am glad you chose Hillary. The two of you will unify the party. Good job.
Barry. I am glad you chose Hillary. The two of you will unify the party. Good job.
he did?
>>The charge was simply untrue.<<
The question isn't how negative a desperate McCain will get, but why on earth anyone believed the Republicans would be just as vile and nasty as they've always been!
Insulted the French - In an interview with Fox News, McCain aimed his ill-fated humor at our allies, the French. "You know," he began, "the French remind me a little bit of an aging actress of the 1940s who is still trying to dine out on her looks but doesn't have the face for it." This is a country that is heavily involved in the Afghan conflict- in particular, they're training Afghan soldiers to reduce the burden on the US military. McCain's questionable comments raised a measured ruckus in both foreign and domestic circles, calling the Senator's diplomatic skills into question.
It is without question that foreign policy blunders are John Mccain's strong point of consistency
MCC is like GWB in that way - almost every time he opens his mouth, chunks of stupid fall out. The difference is that GWB has raw stupid, MCC has refined stupid.
I don't believe he thinks he is being stupid. He just doesn't get it. We can't wait for him to do so.
Oh, BTW - Talk about smears: Obama jumped all over the fact that McCain couldn't recall how many properties he owned. Talk about calling the kettle black:
Barack Obama knows a lot about housing problems. One of his 'biggest fundraisers' helped him buy his million-dollar mansion. Purchasing part of the property he couldn't afford. From Obama, Rezko got 'political favors' including $14 million from taxpayers. Now, he's a convicted felon, facing jail. That's a housing problem.
how is pointing out how many homes mccain owns a smear? its a fact not an opinion
Not to mention the housing slums he oversaw, and did nothing about.
We have to be honest right now. We can say all this crap, but nobody is going to vote for Obama and that is that. He is not one of us. People can call me names all they want, but they know deep down inside, I am right............Just the thought of Obama in the white house would have the grand wizard sick to his stomach.
nice to hear from ignorant bigots every now and again. go ahead and vote for ron paul or something stupid like that. even better vote for the grand master dragon wizard or whatever nerdy term you guys have for that jackass
Though I support neither BHO or MCC, it would be fun to make the grand wizard sick. Where do they come up with these names anyway? Next we will have the pompous dragon and the arrogant troll - oh yea, the latter is already POTUS!
Who gives two shyts about the grand wizard, cept you? And let him know I said sheets are for beds, not to hide behind.
Great reply,
Thank you Sportie
Obama can connect with voters on the economy by using history as a guideline. He should start by reading "Unequal Democracy," by Princeton academic Larry Bartels. The non-partisan and non-political Bartels points out devastatingly after an exhaustive study of Democratic and Republican presidents that the Democrats built a better economy and a more just society. From CNN
The campaign needs to say that, since 1900, Democratic presidents have not only "won" but dominated on every economic front: GDP growth, employment, deficit and income equality. Need more? How about a better performing stock market and a more fiscally-responsible spending.
word nice to here from somebody who knows the real issues and got the facts to back em up. this whole idea of small government is a joke
A detailed analysis of the candidates' tax plans confirms one of Barack Obama's top arguments against John McCain: the Arizona senator's proposals would offer substantial benefits to wealthy Americans.
An analysis of both campaigns proposals by the Washington-based, nonpartisan Tax Policy Center found that for people with incomes between $66,354 and $111,645, Obama's proposals would cut their taxes by more than $1000, compared to around $300 under McCain's plan. But for Americans with incomes above $603,402, Obama would raise their taxes dramatically, by more than $115,000 a year, while McCain would cut them by $45,000.
fact smack down, if you earn anywhere near the average american the choice should be clear, if your dumb enough to only care about taxs and not how they are used
I want to hear her answer to that question. Also, I want to know why McCain opposed increased funding for SCHIP and what he will do to "fix" No Child Left Behind and really make our schools better.
These are questions that women would like to know. Remember America, McCain would rather see a woman wearing an apron and cooking instead of being a part of the American dream.
I would love it if you could ask Ms. Fiorina how she feels about John McCain's statement that women "just need more training and education." McCain stated that he opposed the Senate bill that tried to obtain equal pay for women because he believes it would lead to more lawsuits. Ms. Fiorina is a successful businesswoman, so I'm curious to find out what she thinks about this issue.
This is one question from a hard working woman who would like ask Carly Fiorina a question about McCain attitude towards women and equal pay.
I???d like to put aside all of the garbage throwing and the efforts with the BS for a moment. I???m just curious and if the NOBAMA people can check their exuberance to allow someone else to give an honest and rational answer, I???d like to hear it. Most of the world, and I literally mean most all of the world, recognizes the Bush Presidency as likely being the worst in American history. What they have done with arrogance and without any conscience to consistently benefit only a few while irresponsibly neglecting the many is of itself substantial evidence against them and all of it has been done with the full and stubborn support of the Republican Party. The Republicans accuse the Democrats of advocating a ???tax and spend??? government with too many programs for the people while the Republicans clearly demonstrate a ???spend and owe??? mentality that generates a humongous deficit, negatively impacts the economy, and only benefits a select few. History indicates that the average American typically enjoys a better economy, more spending power and a more just society with the Democrats in power, which of course then also benefits the wealthy. As an ex-Republican now Independent, I???m just wondering how people justify overlooking what seems in their best interests and rationalize a current Republican bias. The Christian Evangelist has to be sold on maintaining a limited conscience to overlook the gross dishonesty, the countless dead and injured in a falsely justified war, the government???s belligerent neglect of responsibilities and of most people and the flagrant and arrogant self-serving focus on benefiting Special Interests and a select few. Those honestly concerned with the economy have to be sold on accepting government spending including excessive pork-barrel that exceeds everything ever done before and again only benefits Special Interests and a select few. Those prudently feeling they are right-wing oriented have to be sold that ???conservative??? really means benefit only for Special Interests and a select few and that benefiting the majority is ???liberalism???. The public has to be sold that neglecting America???s infrastructure, Global Warming and other issues to focus on corporate America???s priorities and tax cuts for the wealthy is rational and is what should be done ignoring the penalties to be paid later. I???m sure there is more and that the Democrats are far from totally pure but my point is that it simply seems there are a lot of people who are convinced to accept things that are not in their best interests and who strongly support those that really and continually do benefit. My question is, how is anyone sold on doing that and how do they rationalize it?
Fundamentally Misunderstanding Iraq Situation - First was the claim that Iran is providing material support to al-Qaeda...they're not. Then was his claim this spring that the US had drawn down to pre-surge troop levels, citing this as evidence of improving conditions in Iraq...but when he said that, the US was still well over it's pre-surge levels- twenty thousand more, to be exact. We'll call it a slip of tongue that he referenced in an interview with Diane Sawyer the tensions on the "Iraq/Pakistan border." Those two countries don't share a border, but Afghanistan does, so hey, maybe he meant that.
But add to that his fundamental misunderstanding about the surge. In an interview with Katie Couric, McCain credited the surge with starting the Anbar Awakening, the forging of coalitions of tribal sheiks to defend themselves against Sunni extremist elements. But the surge wasn't even announced- much less implemented - until months after the Anbar Awakening had begun. McCain should have known this.
It is without question that foriegn policy blunders are John McCain's strong points of consistency
Yeah, he knows better. He saw how those underhanded, dishonest, dirty attacks backfired on Bush in 2000.
Oh, wait...
Families/individuals making more than six figures certainly may be concerned about their family budgets, but those who are at the breaking point -- those on the brink of ???economic disaster??? -- are not those making six- or seven-figure salaries.
In that upper echelon, those making an average of $2.9 million -- the top 0.1% -- would get a whopping tax break of $269,000 from McCain. Under Obama???s plan, the millionaires would take a serious hit, their pockets lightened by $702,000 on average. For those making $2.9 million-plus a year, perhaps that would constitute an ???economic disaster,??? but then the image in the ad should probably be of an anguished CEO clutching his Mercedes key chain not a middle-class mother clutching her child.
If you are a middle class person working hard to take care of your family, you better choice is Obama. If you are in the upper class and you are worried about your Bently or BMW, or your houses no matter how many you have. Maybe you have 7 houses and you wear 500 dollar shoes, then your choice is McCain.
BIG QUESTION..........what gives Hussein or anyone else, the right to steal other peoples money??? What kind of govt. penalizes success?? I understand the average obamamohammed wants handouts, but it is wrong and only increases poverty and dependence.
As for taxing corporations.....IF you have a real job...WHO do you work for? Who provides an income to you? Tax the corps. and WE all pay. Not them. Certain scenarios are guaranteed to happen...higher unemployment and lower growth...AND...higher prices for goods and services. They pass the tax on.
Oh yeah, I forgot...in your fantasy world....you don't have to produce. The Mommy and Daddy Govt. will take care of you....Ya'll liberals truly have a mental disorder. Poor little Victimcrats.
NOBAMA!!!
since you asked ...."what kind of government penalizes sucess?"
communinst governments and perhaps...socialist governments.
LORI...you win the grand prize. It is amazing how many people desire to be indentured servants. Simply amazing.
NOBAMA!!!.
What did I win?
You win a NOBAMA bumpersticker.
NOBAMA!!!
A "real job"? You saying all the independent building contractors, graphic designers, computer programmers, consultants, people who own gardening services, gallery artists, musicians, and others who don't answer to a corporation don't have "real jobs"? Most don't take handouts, most are not on welfare, and most make their own way in the world. You implying they're less worthy than corporate workers? I'm sure they'd love to hear your opinion.
America's built on all sorts of people, Roller, not just megacorps. And I might point out that if you happen to think that only the corporations matter because they contribute the most to a GDP number written on government reports, you have no credibility in attacking Democrats or liberals as "elitist". What's an elitist but someone who only thinks that a particular group is worthwhile?
You assume everyone worthwhile in America works for a corporation. This is not only false but completely snobbish and demeaning. You also assume that these corporations never engage in unfair business practices in order to force out competitors. This is false too.
And, as I said above, Roller, only people that are pretty empty inside bully and demean people.
Hey ninny...lying like a rug again I see. These entrepreneurs (of whom I am a part of) in MOST CASES are Corporations. S-Corps. They also provide goods and services to and/or for these "mega" corps you speak of. If the top 20 "mega" corps you speak of......went out of business, or had very long unprofitable runs....the U.S. economy would go into a depression, that no recovery would ever emerge from.
You are uninformed about profit and loss, risk and reward, success and failure, RIGHT and WRONG. We do need safety nets for the sick, old, children, and victims (real ones, not DNC druggies) of circumstances...BUT...this is the land of opportunity. Success is virtually guaranteed for the industious person. America is not a ROB from the rich...and give it to the poor nation....BTW...why do conservative donate about 5Xmore to the poor than Dems??? I thought you were so concerned. All talk no depth. Just like Barry.
NOBAMA!!!
Nice comback. Very nice.
I laugh at you. Why don't you come up with something to show that McCain is for the middle class and poor. Instead, your saying that the rich should get rich and the poor will get even poorer. I wonder if your smoking crack.
I did not say that...you are grasping at straws. By your logic...the poor should just rob a bank. They have lots of money there. Much of it is "rich" peoples money. Your coveteousness and jealousy is amazing. These "rich" people you talk about pay the VAST majority of taxes. These "poor" people you care so for, pay very little, and in many circumstances receive tax credits...well above any tax payments they may have made.
Bottom line is this.....The lower the tax rates...the higher the growth...the higher the growth...more jobs created...I'm sorry...in the Hussein world there are no jobs. Just fun and games. The "rich" will pay our bills. Who do you think you are??? Robin Hood? Sound more like Stalin...that worked out well didn't it?
NOBAMA
You right wingers said the same thing for Bill Clinton and instead, this country saw a surplus. Bush did what you are saying and we are in a deficit. Do you know what your even saying?
It is notable that Senator Obama rarely mentions Osama Bin Laden. The failure to capture Osama is one of the biggests failures of the Bush Administration. I wish that Obama would mention Osama more often. If Osama were brought up by Obama, he would score some political points.
i am not here to say what Obama did or McCain did. i am here to tell the truth. i am a proud white american who knows i will not vote for Obama. I will not vote for him because Obama is not my cup of tea. he would never understand the white race. white america will never trust Obama, no matter how much they fall into the bradley effect.
You are a racist. You sound like Reverend Wright.
I am not a racist. I am a realist. White america can say all they want, but they will never trust that a black man can run this country. I know i don't. You guys come up with all these excuses for why you don't want to vote for Obama. Hillary and Obama both have the same views, but yet, you were ready to vote for Hillary over Obama. You know that is because she is one of us. That is the truth.
If your a realist, I am the pope. HollyRoller wouldn't like me to be promoted. However your outright racist and bigotry need to go elsewhere.
Hey markymark...he is most likely an obamamohammed trying to racebait. As for you being the Pope...well I'm Pentacostal, but I'm sure you would make a fine Pope. You could exorcise those nasty mohammed demons from the DNC.
NOBAMA!!!
I'm closer to any pope than anyone here. Pia means, Pious
The name Bradley effect is derived from a 1982 campaign involving Tom Bradley, the long-time mayor of Los Angeles, California. Bradley, who was black, ran as the Democratic party's candidate for Governor of California against Republican candidate George Deukmejian, who was white. The polls on the final days before the election consistently showed Bradley with a lead.[5] In fact, based on exit polls on election day, a number of media outlets projected a Bradley win that night; early editions of the next day's San Francisco Chronicle featured a headline proclaiming "BRADLEY WIN PROJECTED". However, Bradley narrowly lost the race. Post-election research indicated that a smaller percentage of white voters actually voted for Bradley than polls had predicted, and that voters who had been classified by those polls as "undecided" had gone to Deukmejian in statistically anomalous numbers.[3]
One month prior to the election, Bill Roberts, Deukmejian's campaign manager at that time, had predicted this behavior. He told reporters that he expected that Deukmejian could advance approximately five percentage points from what his poll numbers indicated, due to white voters giving inaccurate polling responses in order to conceal an appearance of racial prejudice. Roberts's comments were disavowed by Deukmejian, and the controversy that surrounded them ultimately led to Roberts's resignation.[6]
Similar voter behavior was noted in the 1989 race for Governor of Virginia between black Democratic candidate L. Douglas Wilder (right) and white Republican candidate Marshall Coleman. In that race, Wilder prevailed, but by less than half of one percent, despite pre-election poll numbers that showed an average lead for him of nearly nine percent.[7][8] Again, the discrepancy was widely attributed to white voters who had told pollsters that they backed Wilder, but who did not actually vote for him.[9] As a result of this race, some re-christened the "Bradley effect" as the "Wilder effect".[10][11] Both terms are still used, each referring to the same dynamic, and less commonly, the term "Dinkins effect" is also used,[4] in reference to 1989 election of David Dinkins as Mayor of New York City over Rudy Giuliani.
Polls are completely untrustworthy. That is why I refuse to participate in them
Just found out that spirited away and holy roller are the same. That tells me they are kids.
Comrade Chin...your facts are like FactCheck...non-factual.
NOBAMA!!!
McCain is not the same McCain as the man who headed
the straight talk express. That train has definately left
the tracks.
I can not say how deeply dissappointed I am at McCains
outright lies about Obama.
To think during the last election I broke my back for
a man who now has sunk so low.
John...you are a BIG DISSAPPOINTMENT!
I agree, McCain will run this country into the ground like Bush, but because he has my skin color, I must vote for McCain. Me and every white blue collar worker will vote for McCain. We will just have to suffer 4 more years and loose a lot. But the bigger picture is that we kept the white house the right color.
Get the f*ck outta here loser. I would gaurantee your azz isn't white. Are we really trying to bring back the white people wont vote for a bi-racial man? You better get on the wagon quick buddy, America isn't stuck in the 1920's anymore, and it appears your gonna get left behind.
yeah you're all stick in the 20's.
I will not vote for Obama, but it is not because of his race. It is because I oppose higher taxes, socialized medicine, no immediate action on energy relief, etc. Just one man's opinion (by the way, I wouldn't have voted for Hillary either.)
In 1995, when Colin Powell's name was floated as a possible 1996 presidential candidate, Powell reportedly spoke of being cautioned by publisher Earl G. Graves about the phenomenon described by the Bradley effect. With regard to opinion polls showing Powell leading a hypothetical race with then-incumbent Bill Clinton, Powell was quoted as saying, "Every time I see Earl Graves, he says, 'Look, man, don't let them hand you no crap. When [white voters] go in that booth, they ain't going to vote for you.'"
