McCain relates to us white blue collar workers. we must leave the tax cuts the same. we must stay in iraq to show our military might. the middle class is more ethnic groups who want to be like us but can't. we must wake up and understand that as much as Obama wants to help the middle class, they are not us. Obama is not us. I support holy roller and what he has to say. remember, you will always find a white person who will say they will vote for Obama, but they won't. whites do not like blacks and thats that.

Hey Milktoast (aka Holiorollo) keep yer propoganda to yerself.

Hillary was the working class candidate, and many of her supporters are still looking for a replacment.. People's reservations about Obama, generally, have to do with his lack of experience, and lack of substance. His skin color is irrelevant.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 08/20/2008 10:58:50 PM

Color of skin plays no part, in my support of any candidate for public office. But if an individual lacks experience, morals, credibility, strength, and character....then they will never gain my support. Hussein is deficient in all these areas.

He is a complete fraud. His chances of becoming POTUS are very near 0%.

      NOBAMA!!!

Then why do you support McCain, because he fails all of the criteria you have set.

    • Posted By: raddave @ 08/21/2008 6:33:23 AM

McCain relates to the middle class? You are joking right? Like Bush related to the middle class. McCain has never been poor or middle class, he has always been privleged, he thinks being rich is making more than $5million. He and his wife are worth over $100 million. Obama on the other hand was raised middle class and has worked his way up to the upper levels, so who do you really think can relate to the middle class? As for no whites will vote for Obama, I am white and I voted for him in the primaries and will vote for him in the General election.

It is absolutely amazing how divided the people of this country can be about an overgrown popularity contest. The Holy roller right wing fanatics are on one side and the bleeding heart nut jobs are on the other. It's a wonder the rest of the world doesn't declare us all insane and block the borders so we can't get out. In all the hullabaloo, you have all missed the most blatant truth of all - Neither BHO or MCC is qualified to lead this country out of the quagmire of mistrust, lies and deceit that GWB has gotten us into. This is not a republican or democrat thing, it's an AMERICAN thing. Call yourselves Republican or Democrat - you can't stand up, say something is wrong with BOTH of these clowns and demand two candidates that are qualified to lead our country back to the high status we once held among the international community, as well as take care of our own citizens in a humane, ethical way. I for one will go to the polls in November and, using a Sharpie if I have to, write a name on the ballot, and it will not count towards either BHO or MCC. Who cares how either voted on an abortion bill (just an example, there are many other issies that this goes towards) - because if either one did not abstain, then they don't believe in (or understand) the constitution. The constitution gave the STATES the authority to legislate these matters specifically to keep the federal government.out of our personal business. Both of these men are guilty of lies to the public, both are guilty of flip-flopping on policy. So, step back, set your loyalties aside for a few moments and really LOOK at these two men and ask yourselves what you really see. The really intelligent ones among us - the leaders rather than followers - will see the truth and maybe enough of us will stand up and say "hey, wait a minute..." and be heard.

      • Posted By: Skallywag @ 08/21/2008 1:32:14 PM

Not even close. The one man that could posibly pull this country back together pulled out of the primaries long before it was just down to BHO and HRC.

Barack Obama???s campaign continued to hit John McCain on his failure to answer a question on the number of homes he owns with a new ad Thursday, as the presumptive Democratic nominee hammered the same point on the campaign trail in Virginia and the McCain camp battled back.

???Somebody asked John McCain, 'how many houses do you have?' and he said, 'I'm not sure, I???ll have to check with my staff,'??? said Obama at a Thursday morning campaign stop. ???True quote! 'I'm not sure, I'll have to check with my staff.' So they asked his staff and he said, 'at least four.' 'At least four.'

???Now think about that ??? I guess if you think that being rich means you gotta make five million dollars, and if you don't know how many houses you have, then it's not surprising that you might think the economy is fundamentally strong,??? he continued. ???But if you're like me and you've got one house ??? or you were like the millions of people who are struggling right now to keep up with their mortgage so that they don't lose their home ??? you might have a different perspective. ???

He also said that there was a ???fundamental gap of understanding??? between McCain???s world and ???what people are going thru every single day here in America.???

    • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 08/21/2008 2:25:35 PM

I would love to be in a position to say I don't know how many houses I have. But then again I think I would believe I was meant to be President. Not because I want the responsibilities but because it would be another medal of honor. McCain is a despot wannabe.

Weathervane McCain???s ability to come unglued at inopportune times and even on people he espouses to love and cherish. In this case, he got highly peeved at Cindy, his wife. This excerpt is from a soon to be published book by Cliff Schecter:

Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain???s intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain???s hair and said, ???You???re getting a little thin up there.??? McCain???s face reddened, and he responded, ???At least I don???t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you ***.??? McCain???s excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.

Sounds like McCain has some serious anger management issues.

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 08/21/2008 1:16:01 PM

McCain was at the bottom of the list in the Navy. He was given a political position, never worked to get it. He has all kinds of money to spend on anything he wants and what he wants is more power and no responsibility. If he were a responsible steward of authority, he would have been campaigning non stop since he secured the nomination, but what's he been doing? Nothing. Wait, he's been doing something... he's been cheesing and smiling thinking he was a shoo in for the POTUS. Man you are crazy to want to vote for McCain. He doesn't have any military experience other than being shot down but a pop gun.

ABC News' Teddy Davis and Hope Ditto report: Obama V.P. prospect and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine mocked Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on Thursday for not knowing exactly how many houses he owns.

"I understand that Sen. McCain was asked yesterday this question, 'how many houses do you own?,' and he couldn't answer that question. He couldn???t count high enough apparently to even know how many houses he owns," said Kaine.

Time Magazine's The Page has the video. Watch it here.

Kaine, who made his remarks on CNN's "American Morning," was referring to an interview that the presumptive Republican nominee gave to Politico on Wednesday when the Arizona senator was uncertain how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own.

"I think -- I'll have my staff get to you," McCain told Politico in Las Cruces, N.M. "It's condominiums where -- I'll have them get to you."

The correct answer, McCain's staff told Politico, is at least four, located in Arizona, California and Virginia. Newsweek estimated this summer that the potential first couple owns at least seven properties.

McCain Bush doctrine of Our Guns are Bigger Than Yours is finished. If McCain wants to go to war, he can do it on his own yacht. Take Bush, Cheney, Rice and all those other war mongers on the open seas and shoot spit wads at the 'axis of evil'. Everything Cheney does is personal the same way Bush does operates. It's all about me, me, me, me. Country First, YEAH RIGHT. Pockets first, Bush second, Beer third, wife fourth, family fifth... you get the picture.

And as McCain takes the lead in today's polls for the first time, I quote to the disgusting core of Obama supporters who took the "high road" so dear to them and polluted the blogs with Hillary is a Bitch and McCain is an old degenerate idiocies, the words of Obama's inspiration, the Rev Wright: Your chickens are coming home to roost and that rough sound that you hear is the Fat Lady clearing her throat in honor of your messiah's candidacy.

That is right. We do not only want McCain to defeat Obama, we want him to do so so soundly that Democrats will not dare to ever again elect somone so far to the Left, so radical, so hostile to America's interest, so inexperienced, so dangerous to our future, so grandiose, and so unqualified.

            This is from Factcheck.org

Is it true John McCain voted with George Bush 95 percent of the time?
The Obama campaign keeps claiming McCain has voted with President Bush 95 percent of the time. Is this true? Is this significant?
A: Yes, it's true, according to Congressional Quarterly's assessment of McCain's voting record.

            Now in all fairness the information below regarding Obama's voting record is also included;

As for whether voting with Bush 95 percent of the time last year is "significant," that's a matter of opinion that we leave to readers to determine for themselves.

When doing so, they may wish to consider that Obama's votes were in line with the president's position 40 percent of the time in 2007. That shouldn't be terribly surprising. Even the Senate's Democratic leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, voted with Bush 39 percent of the time last year, according to the way Congressional Quarterly rates the votes.

                No problem,

I do not nor have I ever followed anyone blindly, I understand that Obama is a politician and will play political games, he really has no choice. There are now and will always be issues on which I disagree with him. But he scares me much much less than McCain, that is why I am voting for him.

Hope your day is going well.

McCain Cast 377 Votes in Support of President Bush???s Position, Supported Bush a Majority of the Time
METHODOLOGY: This section was developed from Congressional Quarterly's Floor Votes. Here is a video of McCain stating in 2005 that he agrees with Bush's policies it does not state 95%, although I have seen a video of that and will try to locate it for you, then in 2008 stating that he did not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm9rLDU-SiE

Here is another where there is a clip of McCain stating that he voted with Bush over 90% of the time. Also there is an interview with Davis defending it.

The majority of Bush's time in the White House has been focused on spending money for a war that was unwarranted. Bush has put so much money in other countries that it is pitiful. Bush has snubbed the military time and time again by refusing to supply them with the supplies and personnel needed to win this illegitimate war. The vets have not had substantial care because Bush and his Administration has turned its back on them. Soldiers are committing suicide because there is no care. All this and McCain has supported Bush 110% on all this. He has not once said he felt duped with the intelligence. He has not one time opposed the cover ups. McCain is a Bush lapdog dressed up in a puppet suit with cable strings costing the tax payer billions more to support. We are already paying the cost of his Georgian counterparts because he would assume create a new cold war with his illicit behaviour coupled with the missile defense deal Rice has orchestrated with Poland. To think that this man should be leader is crazy. But hey, it takes crazy people to do it.

I don't know why. I'm just sure it has been his motive all along.

The Congress did everything they needed to do to appropriate the funds. It was Bush, Rummy and McCain that jostled the reasons behind not wanting to provide the supplies necessary to facilitate this illegitimate war. The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Barack Obama attracting 45% of the vote while John McCain earns 42%. When "leaners" are included, it's Obama 47% and McCain 46%. And Obama has never been behind McCain with Rasmussen polls.

    • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/20/2008 2:15:41 PM

      You wish.

I can't speak to the attacks on other candidates by Obama supporters, but rest assured they've been equalled across the board by Hillary and McCain supporters. And then there are the candidates themselves. Hillary tried to claim Obama shouldn't run because "we all remember Robert Kennedy" - claiming in essence that no member of a disadvantaged ethnic group that has a higher risk of assassination should ever run for President, and thereby perpetuating those same disadvantages. And McCain tried to imply that a Harvard-educated lawyer and Senator, who's spent decades preparing and educating himself for these careers, is the same as a socialite (Paris Hilton) who never went to college and has a reputation for superficiality. Attacks by supporters may be one thing, but when it comes to attacks by the actual *campaigns*, only Obama's camp has avoided ugly, campaign-demeaning attacks based on popularity or prejudice instead of fact.

Also, statistically, the candidates are still roughly equal. McCain's actually led in some polls for the duration of the race, and Obama's led in others, and that trend is *still continuing*. But your ideological language leads me to wonder whether or not you understand statistics. For some reason I'm reminded of a jubilant Harry Truman holding a newspaper aloft with the headline "Dewey Defeats Truman"...

      • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/20/2008 3:01:39 PM

        Vig,
What do you mean you can't speak of on the attacks by Obama supporters? Say your just kidding, please!
Here's a refresher......Why do I always get the first question? Sniper fire!! How about one of the great white pastors speaking of Hilary at Trinity? Try youtube, video's dont lie do they?

        • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/20/2008 3:21:07 PM

And by the way, the idiom "speak to" does not mean "speak about". It's much closer to "speak for". In this context it means that I don't necessarily agree with the people who engage in these attacks and don't claim they represent my own viewpoint. That phrase is part of the English language and has been for some time, and it's always meant something akin to "I can't comment on that because I don't claim that view", in case you attempt to claim that I'm going back on my original phrasing or something.

        • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/20/2008 3:17:15 PM

*I* haven't engaged in them to the greatest extent that I can - I've slipped occasionally, but I've never called McCain an "old degenerate" or Hillary a "bit.ch" or anything similar - and I *can't* speak for what other people say. What power do I have over the part of Obama's support movement that denigrates other people? It exists. And I speak out against it. I've said it on other comment threads and I'll say it again - I don't believe in those kinds of personal attacks and wish people on both sides would stop them.

And yes, videos lie all the time. I saw an anti-immigration video that claimed to be unbiased "coverage" a group of Latinos protesting U.S. immigration policies, denigrating the protestors and making condescending comments designed to sway public opinion against them, without mentioning that on the opposing street corner, there were a group of anti-"illegal-immigration" protesters who dragged the American flag on the ground, used in as a weapon in conjunction with pepper spray to threaten people who disagreed with them, including a sixteen-year-old girl. Videos are a form of communication just like any other - they can be edited to show only part of the truth, they can be altered to conceal things that actually happened, or they can record people who *are* lying. What makes you think they're any different from audio recordings or just plain speech?

*Any* form of communication can lie, plain and simple. It's the nature of *any communicative medium*.

And finally I did a poll of all of my neighbors and friends who own dogs, cats, rodents, tropical fish, and ant farms. We all chipped in for a psychic to interview all the above listed animals, including humans, and the results drew the same conclusion every time a poll was conducted. Polls that humans rely on are worthless.

Obama is in a lot of trouble. He has soared too high to fast. He has been running a terrible campaign ever since the primaries ended. He'd better be very careful who he wants as his VP. He needs to be more detail oriented in his policy discussions. He is a gifted orator and politician, but hismesage of hope, unity, and change are not sufficiently backed up with ability, .competence, and substance. He is having a terrible summer, all self inflicted. Up to now he's run on popularity and likeability. He'd better wake up before he loses in a can't lose year. Its unbelievable this race is even close.

Everyone that says they are the all american will have a different opinion when November comes and goes. Many people talk about how patriotic they are and this and that about how they love their country. If Obama is elected President, they will just assume pack their bags as they will more than likely feel that they have been betrayed and that America is not America anymore. It won't surprise me one bit. But if they do think like that then they can go back to England or Ireland or where ever their ancestors came from, no skin off my back. I have had to sit through GW and Ronnie that stomped on my rights for too long. Obama will bring true perspective of equality to the U.S. This election is too much for youse. Stay on the porch.

McCain has flop flipped and flip flopped and flop flipped and flip flopped more times than can be counted among the stars.

'No off shore drilling... ok off shore drilling to win the election.'

'No to timetable in Iraq... ok as long as it gets me into office. We can stay there when I'm elected.'

'100 years in Iraq... ok 16 months like Obama said as long as I'm the one to be elected. I can go back on my word when I win.'

'I support pork barrel spending... oops, I meant I was against it as long as I'm elected to office.'

'Bush is right all the time... No, Bush is wrong as long as I get to replace him.'

McCain, the same old politician. Nothing new, nothing different.

    Vote Change.

At what point has Obama made you doubt anything he stands for? And how has McCain, through all his negative campaigning, come up with a more influential message?

ok dems, let's get the facts straight, it is the dems that perfected the attack strategy: the Clinton years (how many people did they destroy), Michael Moore (liar, thief and all-around ***hole), October surprises (liar Dan Rather brought down in 2004) , and let's not forget the Losers of the Year Award winners Olberjerk and nothing upstairs Matthews (and he brags about being part of the Carter Administration, the worst administration of ALL TIME!!!!). If you can't take it, don't dish it out. Also, if you hate America, get out! By the way, if you dems don't think we are paying enough in taxes, I think we should change the IRS code to increase all dems taxes to 85% if you make more than $400. Finally, you would be paying your fair share.

Obama has many platforms to address many of the issues we face today. He has laid out his policies that are being developed. He has given the people insight into proposals would impact our lives. When anyone gives the people info on what they are proposing then that is the signs of a good leader. He obviously wants people to pick it apart and have their say. He is willing to "change" his stance in order to change the country. McCain on the other hand will change his positions to obtain the title of President. He doesn't want the work that comes with it. Obama has already addressed many Americans' plights and is developing policies to make life more comfortable. That's a leadership quality that is needed. Obama will reach across the aisle in order to make the choices that have both Republican and Democratic ideas. He will address the Congress in a respectful manner to ensure that the parties stay on topic. So why would you question his policy versus McCain who has no platform other than small quips against everyone else and has no policy developed? If you vote for McCain you are not really attuned to what's going on.

HolyRoller, you want to cite the National Review as source?!! That publication is clearly biased, it's affiliated with the Repuplican party, and was started by a repuplican/conservative commentator. At least Newsweek is fair and balanced and has this article PLUS a main cover story about "What Bush Got Right" and another story called "[Obama] Distorting McCain's Remarks." It's just that people like you place a higher priority on distorting the truth to continue living in your own close-minded world.

I guess that's why McCain's wholly untrue attack ads appeal to these types of people...they're too lazy or dumb to check the veracity of the facts. The ads appeal to the lowest common denominator and that's what these people are. They believe what their neighbor says or the email in their inbox. Try reading a book now and then or doing some objective research, maybe, I don't know, instead of using valuable time to come up with hateful acronyms and nicknames for people who don't agree with you, such as 'RINO' = republican in name only, 'NoBama,' or 'Hussein' instead of Obama. Classless and hateful...

Just finished a great book...called Obama Nation by Jerome Corsi. I highly recommend it. As for the National Review......I challenge you to point out any error in the report. There are dozens of sources, incl the liberal bible NYT. Do your own research....you really don't have to though....Hannity has gotten his hands on Hussein's audio tape discussing the infanticide. He said tonight he would release it in its entirety. He also said it will show beyond doubt....Hussein has been knowingly lying. BTW...Corsi's book uses actual transcripts of Hussein speaking against the bill.

Allowing "born Alive" botched induced abortions to be treated as garbage, and left to die, is America's last straw with The False One...And the real damaging info has yet to be released......Hillary was quite right...He is unelectable.

The DNC is run by idiots.

      NOBAMA!!!

UNHolyRoller, do you realize that Clinton criticized Obama for not taking a more aggressive stance on the "Born Alive" Bill?

davieboy...Hussein was a Illinois State Senator...NOT a U.S. Senator. The Clintons did not get involved...HOWEVER an identical bill passed the U.S. Senate unanimously. Barbara Boxer and Ted Kennedy actually spoke out passionately, in favor of the ban.

          NOBAMA!!!

In 1995, McCain sent birthday regards, and regrets for not attending, to Joseph "Joe Bananas" Bonano, the head of the New York Bonano crime family, who had retired to Arizona. Another politician to send regrets was Governor Fife Symington, who has since been kicked out of office and convicted of 7 felonies relating to fraud and extortion.

We have fought too many wars and McCain is ready to fight some more. McCain doesn't think about being a statesman no more than Bush did. Maverick, Cowboy... whatever, they both act the same, wrecklessly. He's dangerous, he's incompetent, he's untrustworthy.
