I gotta admit, I wear Crocs and love'm, but people are open to there own opinion, and the fact that people can get pissed about something so UN f**kin' important is just stupid! This is like when everyone was freaking out about the 600 Starbucks locations, instead of things that really matter to us and our future! I personally think you're a funny guy, and you should totally continue writing articles, even though I love my Crocs, I love people who have there own opinion but the fact that you had SO many people reply to this with such anger is kind of...umm stupid? :D People need to be focusing on what REALLY matters in this world, then some silly pare of rubber shoes...even though they rock and there super bouncy! Anyway, that's enough of me, keep writing $hit and pissin' off the public! w00!

I woke up early today to see on the news in my town here in Chicago about a officer that drunk and drove and killed, a hate against race story, more on the Stacy case, the war, children getting shot, and then I get to work and read your article. Every single day I read about so much hate and violence that I wonder every time I leave home is this the day I get shot because I bumped someone. But for a couple minutes this morning I smiled and laughed and you know what I decided I am not going to watch negative news anymore, I will continue to read goofy stuff that makes me smile no matter how goofy it is. I am not going to fuel the fire of hateful bitter people that have nothing better to do then be ANGRy because of a silly story, come on. If they are so adament about you writing this story instead of fixing the world why are they reading the story and not fixing the world.Just silly. But I love the happy spin you put on the negative comments and for that your son will be proud of his goofy dad. I myself don't like the look as fashionable but I like the look of comfort. But I was not born to judge so I can not judge a person's fashion to each there own. That's what makes us humans different our different fashion style, or at least most of us. Thanks for the laugh today..

I got a good laugh out of your article, and I totally agree with you about crocs. I actually tried a pair of them when they first came out, and I don't get the popularity of them. They are SO big on your foot that they weren't comfortable worth a hoot to me. I do admit that I bought a pair for my son who is in college (a brown pair thank goodness) because I like them more than sandals or clogs with white socks on guys. Shoot me if you will!! Keep on writing - we need a laugh now and then. Too much bad stuff going on. Now, I guess I'm "publicated", too.

I just went back and read the suspect article, you couldn't be more on point, they are atrocious looking and the people that wear them usually are dorks. And for those who were offended by your article need to toughen up, grow some thicker skin, everybody is so (sniff, sniff0 sensative these days it makes me sick. Kudos to you.

Steve, here's another reason to hate Crocs. They cause foot problems! My wife is a massage therapist, and she has seen numerous cases of plantar fasciitis (a very painful condition) caused by Crocs, typically by nurses or others who wear them all day. Her own podiatrist hates them for that reason, as well. And get this -- somehow, Crocs are endorsed by the American Podiatric Medical Association! (See http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS153322+27-Mar-2008+BW20080327) What a Croc!

Your latest article was brilliant and friggin' hilarious, by the way.

Another brilliant essay, and funny too. I'm sure some of the comments stung a little, but you found some gems to share. Wit happens, you know? And when the wit hits the fan, someone has to clean it up! Seriously though, you managed to make me feel all warm and fuzzy at the end by sharing Leayellowrose's comment. It made me want to be a dork too, as a demonstration of solidarity. Peace.

Touche' on both articles. I, at one time, tried my best to buy a pair of Crocs, but just couldn't get past how UGLY they are. Even that word does not describe them adequately. I can't believe there are people out there that would be so offended as to call you names and leave death threats! Now THAT is ugly, and THEY are the idiots. They are SHOES people, GET OVER IT!
Thanks for the laugh both times!! Keep up the good work!

I read the first article and thought, " Great! I am not the only one who hates crocs and thinks they are ugly." I agreed with the whole article and can't believe people actually took the time out of their day to make threats towards the writer. That is just plain ridiculous, they are just ugly SHOES! I can't believe someone would be at a store and see the multi-colored croc shoes and think to themselves,"I got to have it!" Crocs do make regular looking sandals now, I think everyone needs to switch to those and get those other eye sores off their feet.

This article and the one that spawned it are hysterical!! I have 3 girls who have not only the summer crocs but the even uglier winter crocs with all the jibbitz you can imagine BUT I told my husband if he ever got them that that may be a reason for divorce. This was after we were at the beach watching a grown man with size 14 BRIGHT ORANGE crocs walk by. Ew. Anyway, thanks for the laugh. I only wish I had invented those darn things even though they would never touch my feet. Thanks!

Forget airline food and cell phones. How about the fact that we have an item labeled Smart Water that is just tap water put in a fancy bottle and marketed by a substandard actress in Jennifer Aniston.

Touche' on both stories. I loved them. I, at one time, tried my best to purchase a pair of Crocs, but just could not do it. THEY ARE SOOOOO UGLY! Even that line does not describe them adequetly. But to read there are people out there that were offended enough to leave death threats or call you names, now THAT is ugly! Keep up the good work. I enjoy reading your stories.

Brillant!! With all the crap in the world today it is a relief to read something about nothing that makes you laugh. I wear crocs and you are right on so many levels, but the older you get the less you care aout what people think about what you wear:) Keep up the the humor and it is good to see the haters getting worked up over nothing...
    Cheers!!!

I loved the original rant and love this response. I find a ton of humor in how passionate we all can be about brightly colored rubber clogs.

  • Posted By: mdebot @ 08/21/2008 9:50:02 AM

I too read your article the first time around and it was hilarious. I agree, crocs are a NO GO! It is
nice to read something funny ,instead of all the doom and gloom that is lingering in the air lately.

I believe farmgirl12 should be less worried about your parenting skills and absolutely furious that parents are trying to turn their children into dried fruit. I have one piece of advice for her: in the tool bar there is something called the grammar check and the spell check - turn both on. This obviously drives home the point that croc owners are dorks. They should be made fun of and humiliated until this horrid trend ends. I commend you for allowing your son to poke "gentle" fun at them. In fact, if I had children I would do the same. Please dont ever cave and buy a pair- my heart will break.

Loved your original rant, and loved this response. I find a ton of humor in how passionate we can all be over some brightly colored clogs.

OMG--and I thought the original article was funny! This REALLY made me LOL. Steve, I love you, too!

I loved the croc story the first time I read it. Had to forward it to everyone I know. One lady said she would 'never wear rubber shoes'. I agree. They - who where crocs - look like dorks. You crack me up. I love it.

You are hilarious. I'm tired of talking about serious stuff. Keep up the funnies.
