I thought crocs were the worst thing ever also but I now have a pair because of plantar faciatis and a heel spur the podiatrist recommended them I still think they are ugly and a fashion flaw but when you have tese problems with your feet they are a God send I also bought a pair of croc flops they are great to. I think you ought to try a pair just for the fun of it because despite the look they are comfy.

I think the original Croc article was great and this was even funnier....it's a shame I am laughing at the people that responded and what can only be deemed as an obviously a lack of education. You keep writing - everyone needs a great laugh now and then!

I think the first Croc article was hysterical and this one is even funnier since its based on the reader's remarks. Now we see why we are not producing more rocket scientists.....

Crocs make women look like they have clubbed feet! Look especially ugly on ladies with short chubby legs.
Your kids will look back at you and laugh just like you look back and laugh at the "Liesure Suit" GaG, BaRf~~!!

While you are at it please feel free to kill the whole flip flop phenomenon, trucker hats, metrosexual and 80's imitation clothing fads going on today, Americas Best Dance Crew, The Hills and The O.C, and a whole list of other wack stuff that seesm to have taken hold of our mindless sheep like society.....America needs you " Stop the Wackness 2008"

Hasn't anyone ever heard of flipflops, sandals, or slippa's...these are just as comfortable and are much easier on the eyes.

Steve, this was even more entertaining than the original article. LOVED IT!!! If this was inspired by your sonn then just imagine how many more amazing articles you have left to write. Best wishes for your continued success and mad prop on your skillful use of sarcasm. Tell your son he is hilarious too!

I'm a nurse and I wear Crocs. I loooooooove Crocs. They DO look like clown shoes. I work on an Alzheimer/dementia unit and the residents compliment me about my shoes all the time. So, what's the problem?....:) Your article made me laugh out loud. Yep, another marriage proposal.... wink, wink.. Thanks!

I thought your article was funny, and this article about all the comments was good, too. I have quoted your son's comment about "a family of dorks coming along soon " to a few friends! Maybe they are comfortable, but you are right, CROCS are DORKY!!!

  • Posted By: burkett1974 @ 08/21/2008 8:37:31 AM

Absolutely delightful follow up story! I was overly joyed about the first article because I think they are ridiculous shoes as well. Comfortable they may be, but not for me! Love the wit and humor and the fact that people get angry over their beloved Crocs. I say that your next "rant" should be about people who wear socks with sandals! Now there is a group who deserves to be called "Dorks", even more so than the beloved Croc wearer. Keep writing and i will keep reading.

Hilarious...I agree with you I hate Crocs....I guess I am an AntiCrocite

Dear Idiot, I haven't read your first article and I doubt if I have ever read any of your others, but since you popped up on my msn news window I thought should find out what everyone is wasting their time about. Clearly you must be one of the masses who think it is better to look and be cool rather than be practical. I succumbed to the croc phenom last year while camping and bought a cheap pair of knockoffs. Why your tiny mind asks? Because I watched my 9 year old twins and my wife head off to the showers in them and realized they were quick to put on, water proof, and on top of that I found out they actually float as well. The latter benefit was found while at the marina climbing on to our boat. Now granted my Sperry Topsiders do look aesthetically better but they don't float and they pick up a terrible amount of dirt while camping. So take comfort in being an idiot. You are not alone. Others will join you in your rant. And yes, I am writing this while at work but I am self employed so I am only hurting myself. PS While a cute move on your part to make your critics appear illiterate my guess is because they, as I, don't have spell check available on this reply so cut them some slack. After all you started it!!!

I couldn't stand the shoes before this last weekend. I had a weekend boat trip that I needed some easy on easy off water shoes for. I also needed them to be durrable so I could walk on the rocky shores. Water shoes are never cool so I decided to try on a pair even though it was against my better judgement. I thought they would be hard like rubber but they were kind of soft like foam. Their ugly as hell and I won't wear them out of the house except on the boat or to take the dog out. However, they are perfect water shoes that actually are really comfortable. I look forward to wearing them while taking the dogs out late at night. lol

Well, after reading the initial article and chuckling a bit, then reading tis second one about people leaving comments, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon, as you'll soon discover I'm good at. For the last 4-ish years, I have hated crocs. I think they look like gardening shoes and have been appalled since I saw the first pair of them on a mother's feet at the daycare I worked at. But this past summer, I'll admit, I purchased a pair. This was not without good reason; I occasionally buy shoes with theme parks in mind, and these seemed like a good bet--they'd work for water parks and log rides alike, with a back strap to keep them from falling off on the coasters. Because you know you just can't make yourself wear those only shoes that are dorkier than crocs, the water shoes they sell for kids on the flip-flop rack at Wal-Mart. so I bought some Mary Jane crocs, and put them on... and LOVED them. They are, much to my chagrin, possibly the most comfortable shoes I own. As a matter of fact, when I forgot to pack them to take on my vacation, I spent a fair amount of time on said vacation attempting to replace them. They're good for the beach, too, for avoiding sharp shells, coral, and broken glass. So, I hate them, they're ugly... and I've purchased three pairs-one for me, a replacement for the first ones for me, and one pair for my husband. Oh, and by the way, I'm writing this from work. :)

I've noticed more and more people saying that they are "offeneded" at the slightest remarks these days. It's almost as if they think that saying that will get them something. "Your opinion offends me...you owe me for that." And my response? "Well, your idiocy offends me and everyone else around...so you owe us!"
That being said, I think that Crocs are the ugliest clown shoes in the history of the circus. In fact, I would rather wear Ronald McDonald shoes than Crocs!
(I hope the increased traffic on the site equals a rasie for you< you're very funny!)

Well, I would hope the author would continue "raisin" his son with such humor. Then he might actually have a chance to grow up less easily offended and angry. Unlike some of the readers of the original article apparently.

I work at a bank and it astounds me when I see my fellow co-workers wearing crocs - with pantyhose. Like that makes it better. However, since I consider myself a brave woman I am going to have to look up the high heeled crocs. Besides, I want another good laugh today.

  • Posted By: mommac123 @ 08/21/2008 8:33:23 AM

I love my crocs! I wear them everyday to collect eggs from the hen house. The chicken poop washes right off!!

  • Posted By: jyatiz @ 08/21/2008 8:32:26 AM

Maaaan, the piece about the crocs was funny, but this? This takes the cake, c'mon! What's with you , people? It's meant to be funny, have a laugh, after all...he's not asking you to give up your Crocs..or is the last article making you reconsider looking dorky as opposed to being comfortable? I myself do not wear them--I think they are downright awful and plain ugly--but don't fault the dorks, I mean people...sorry, who wear them

    Have a nice day...
