Keep doing what you are doing! In this world of violence, hatred, rascism, lewdness and darkness, it is great to have a glimmer of light and a chuckle or two. Remember in America, it is your right to say what you feel, live like you want and buy cheap foreign imports like Croc's and Croc knock-offs from your local discount store. America, wake up, stop bitching and start living again!!!!!

When I read your first article, I thought to myself, why am I reading this, I have work to do. I am not a croc wearer, but I have secretly considered it. I just couldn't bring myself to walk around in "Bozo shoes" Anyway, I wondered why you were making such a big deal over some silly shoes, and why you were encouraging you son to be cruel and a bully, which I am still struggling with, but I think with this second article, you have redeemed yourself. Sometimes we don't realize how we tough other people's lives, good or bad. If you can brighten the day of mother who has lost a child, them I say, "You go Dude!" and "More power!". Just try to teach your son to be kind to all those dorks, idoits, ranters, etc... They have feelings too. God Bless.

    OMG....I'm still laughing!

That is the problem with America today...we are all so afraid to step on each other's Crocs.

Loved the croc article, it was unbelievably funny. My ex-husband wears crocs with socks and shorts, thank goodness I divorced him before that started up, I forwarded the article to him, he wasn't amused, but hey not everyone can have a good sense of humor

Mr. Tuttle: I was happy when I read the original article because I thought I was the only one around who hated those shoes. I even forwarded it to many of my friends . I told my wife (who, by the way, defends "Croc wearers" by saying that I shouldn't generalize everyone who wears them because, "My sister and her husband wear them!" -- I just keep quiet.) I told her that I would like to have a beer with the author so we could laugh at the rubber-soled fools together. I now see that a bourbom might be more in order. I'm more of a scotch man, myself, but whatever your poison, I'll buy! I even work in Alexandria, if you want to take me up on the offer! Thank you for your witty writing and your obvious good taste!

Although I too would never be caught dead in these horribly, ugly shoes to each his own if they chose to wear them.
BTW-I read the last article and I also thought it was hilarious. Why does everyone have to take everything so serious these days? Sheesh!

Brilliant, the article he wrote was great! Lighten up people, it's just on person's opinion. There's this thing in the U.S. called "Freedom of Speech", and I support this writer 100%. It was a funny article meant to poke fun at things. If you can't admit that you have never poked fun at a fad, then you are just kidding yourself and all the people here that understood the true intent of this article.

I loved the first article! I was laughing in my office as someone passed by and they had to aske what I was laughing about. As for the people that were mad about your article, they need to learn how to relax! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and we don't all have to like the same things - isn't this America the land of the free?

Loved your rant on Crocs....I hate them too. Maybe your editors will let you continue to write these kind of articles and we can call you the "Andy Rooney" for the 21st century.

I loved both articles. I do have my own pair of crocs though they don't look like clogs they look like flip flops.. would never catch me wearing the clogs. but wether or not you like crocs I believe both articles were well written if so much thought and heat followed. keep writing keep stirring the pot with "the stick of America" thanks very much for the laughs.

I've worn my crocs all summer. I walk my dogs three times a day while wearing the crocs. I've worn them to the
beach. Not once have I had a back ache or any pain in my knees as with other shoes. I've even tried expensive
walking shoes. Long live crocs. Sure they're ugly. I agree. But, for comfort they can't be beat.

I personally do not like the croc shoes, therefore I was entertained by your first article. I could not believe the ridiculous response you received. I think the responses you received displays the low morality this country is currently facing. A job well done for you, for having such a great turn out on your article!

Fantastic! Loved the Crocs rant and love this smack-down of people who can't spell OR take a joke! Thanks.

When I see men wearing Crocs, I always wonder why they left their purse at home.

  • Posted By: jkrushas @ 08/21/2008 7:53:18 AM

I read the original article aloud to my family. We loved it! I have never actually left a comment about an article I have read on the internet. However, it seems appropriate that I should make my cyberspace debut commenting on a profoundly important issue, fundamental to the fabric of our society: rubber shoes that make one's feet smell. Write on, write on, my friend!

Write on, write on, my friend.

I truely believe we will look back & smack ourselves for wearing these God-awful things just as we do for most of the fads of the '70's... not me of course, because I wouldn't be caught dead in the things!!

  • Posted By: jltdubs @ 08/21/2008 7:51:40 AM

Could you please write your next article on wearing pajama pants in public (usually worn with Crocs)? Thanks for giving me the giggles . . .

  • Posted By: aleigh220 @ 08/21/2008 7:50:48 AM

I can't stand those stupid things that pass as "shoes!" My husband jokes that he's going to buy a pair just to upset me. I have no qualms about throwing him out of the house if he tries to bring them home. Those things will not enter my home!! At most, they are gardening shoes. They should not be worn in public... just my opinion! I love that you can find common ground with your son & spend time together even if it is making fun of other "dorks" who wear these things. Years from now we will look back on these & smack ourselves just as we do now for most fads from the '70's.
