LMFAO... I actually thought your Crocs article was hilarious - and i'm saying this as a Crocs lover who, yes, is sitting here at work... You'll be happy to know, however, that I can't wear my Crocs to my current job as it is located on a construction site and I have to wear thick-soled closed shoes. I can tell you, however, that they are the shoe of choice at Israeli call centers. Also they make sense when flying - seriously, whats more annoying, someone in Crocs that can be slipped on and off in seconds, or lace-up shoes that need to be untied, taken off, put back on, retied... all while your waiting to go throught the x-ray machine? Really Crocs wearers should have their own seperate line at the airport:)

Well, this one is cut and dry... Crocs bashing is appropriate. Crocs-wearing, if it must be done, should be done only in private, or while working in the kitchen of a restauraunt. It should be aligned with all the other "guilty pleasures" of the world. But, like an animated discussion of last night's Dungeons and Dragons adventures... it should be kept out of public view... or risk the awful things people will say and think about you otherwise reasonable, upstanding people.

I totally agree with you on how silly Crocs look...and after last week, I don't like them for another reason. All these "Croc Lovers" should Google "Crocs shoes and Atlanta Airport" and see what these shoes are doing to kids' feet on escalators. My friends son literally had the ball of his foot ripped off because his shoe was sucked down in to the side of the escalator. And then...they found out he wasn't the first. People should not be putting these shoes on their children and riding on escalators.

Crocs will be looked back on the same way we look at Zubaz's.

I didn't read the original artical... and don't really think I want to. 2 things though jump to mind. Typical and I agree, they are ugly! Althoiugh, I hear they are comfortable, so if you (not you personally) like them, wear them.
I wish I could write as well as yourself. I think it would be great to be a journalist!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!!, for making me laugh so much once again. I also read the previous article and thought it was WAY BEYOND HILLARIOUS, I even sent it to a whole bunch of friends so they could laugh too.
And to all those angry individuals who didn't like the original article...... just leave the bitterness aside and have a giggle. Besides, you have to admit it......Crocs ARE horrible and unflattering little things that shouldn't even be worn in public.

You're a very talented writer, and that has nothing to do with the fact that I find your writing interesting - a good writer can write about the stupidest things and still exhibit talent. I'm glad you're not taking everyone's comments seriously. Journalism needs people like you. Some people (like myself) who hate politics, sports, fashion, and celebrity gossip often find themselves screwed - there is nothing interesting (and/or lighthearted) to read! Awesome job.

I thought both the orignial article and this one were hilarious. All the over-the-top negative comments just proved your original point about Croc wearers. Thank you again for the entertainment (not on comany time).

This article makes me wish I had read the original! I also wish I could have read some of those responses to you, they sound great! I think it was just sour grapes with Farmgirl12. I figure CROCS MUST be comfortable because they are too ugly to be worn otherwise. Thanks for the laughs.

msn.com is my Internet Explorer Home page and I am too lazy to change it. I have never bothered to link to anything on that page, I invariably go somewhere else immediately. However, there must be something about that word ???Croc??? because your link has caught my eye on both occasions

My partner wears Crocs and for good reason (if there can ever be stated a good reason for wearing them). She needed something for the beach, her shoe size is 42 (that is European for something else in inches) and you can???t find anything in the whole of Europe (apart from the UK and we don???t live there any more) that is greater than 40 except, that is, Crocs, which come in a 41.

They don???t look great but at least they fit reasonably well, work well on the beach and are comfortable. We have lol???d at both articles, particularly the second (you???re getting better, must be all that feedback).

Thank you for your writing. I find that not only are is the Croc brand ugly, but in reality it is just another ploy for bad fashion and for people to waste good money on- much like spandex, velcro, and neon colored pants.

Thank you for your brilliance and wit, thank you for getting it right.

While I didn't read the original article, I have to assume that you were as funny then as you are now. I am an avid CROCS fan. I think they are probably the most comfortable things that I have ever put on my feet (if you dis- count the rabbit pelt slippers I had made from victims of my hunting expeditions).
I do have to agree with you on the point that they are the ugliest damned things ever made and that when I wear them in public I get some funny looks from the He-Men in town, but no comments. i was a bouncer for years and have thrown most of them out of someplace on ther ears.
By the way, not all crocs are flip flop clog things. Some are real shoes with laces and everything they're still ugly but they're comfortable. I own both kinds.

As a Crocs hater myself, I found both articles absolutely hilarious!! I'm in the military overseas and those God-awful "shoes" have taken over here on military bases as well. Surely we have more fashion sense to offer our host countries then these sorry excuses for footwear. Next we'll have everyone wearing blue shirts and khakis and calling it fashion forward! Keep up the good work!!

OMG!!! I thought the original article was funny, but this was HILARIOUS!!!! I laughed through the entire thing! As a footnote, I would like to add that I too think Crocs are hideous, even though I am patiently awaiting for my first pair to arrive in the mail. Anyone who knows anything about shoes knows that the rule is: the prettier the shoe, the more uncomfortable it is. That should give you an idea of just how comfortable these abominations of nature are!

I loved the original article, so funny. I made all of my roommates read it. We all agreed that Crocs are evil! Thanks for telling the world!!

  • Posted By: hookedonphonicsdidntwork4u @ 08/21/2008 4:14:37 AM

I did not read the original article, but the simple fact that there is a rebuttal article in response to the feedback of readers makes it quite obvious to me that we have much larger issues in society if people are so worried about what someone has to say about SHOES (Crocs no less). I must admit though, the "stupid" comments made and quoted here are just funny and very ironic. In the world of technology, you would think someone would learn how to use spell check. Let's see what has to be said if/when the poncho makes a "fashion" comeback. The nerve! HA!

The people who are the hosts on the tv show, What Not To Wear, would have a fashion 'fit' if they saw how many people in our little mountain town of Durango, co wear Crocs! But then, once upon a time, Durango WAS voted the worst dressed city! (not totally true!)
