In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide the largest morgage bank in the world,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 wall street firms. Also, Fanny and Freddy Mae which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States.
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. If they didn't the entire financially system would virtually shut down, the stock market would crash and we would suffer beyond what any of us have seen before.

McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.

Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He either didn't care or didn't realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime.
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a tanking economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?

The chairman of McCains campaign recently said that people don't vote on issues they vote on a personality composite. Which means he is trying to sell you personality instead of results.

He believes people will vote against their own interests.

Let's teach him we are smarter than that .

Hold them accountable NOW! while it will still help.

    Elect Obama Biden 2008

Too bad the press is so BIASED and LIBERAL. Divides people. They should report news, not greate it.

Jpoitier - You mean, does anyone do PROPAGANDA better than democrats? I mean closet socialists? All they want is another government handout , so they can sit around and be part of the problem, and NOT part of the solution. Get a job!

Biden was caught plagiarizing papers in college then lied about when confronted.A willingness to lie and cheat to get ahead gives Joe Biden the perfect credentials to be a part of the Obama ticket' Good choice.

Enter Your Comment Another one. Does anybody cheat better than republicans? I remember 2000 and 2004, ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!! got expertise in cheating ?Hin!!! republi---cheat

At least he knows how many houses he owns.

      • Posted By: dgarnernola @ 08/23/2008 11:58:12 AM

What about the liar and cheater that has been in office for 8 years ? Funny isn't it.

        • Posted By: bksta @ 08/23/2008 12:57:34 PM

What about him?Obama didn't ask George Bush to be his running mate.Whatever George Bush's short comings may or may not be has no bearing on the fact that Joe Biden is an old line pork barrel politics Wahington hack.He has spent his entire adult life feeding at the public trough.

          • Posted By: jmuscato14 @ 08/23/2008 2:08:02 PM

Really? He's never tried to get rich off his political status. He came from a working class family and has fought for blue collar workers his whole career. So while he may know his way around Washington, he certainly is no "Washington hack." I am so sick of ignorant comments like yours.

            • Posted By: bksta @ 08/23/2008 4:35:31 PM

Whether he tried to or not he has become rich (by most peoples standards) off of his political status,he will by virtue of decades of living off the back of all taxpayers including those you define as working class, have amassed a retirement package that is mind boggling.I in the working class private sector do not get the opportunity to vote myself pay raises or a bloated retirement package (he has plenty of company in this repect but it doesn't make it ok). I'm not sure what constitutes a misleading lie but Biden ultimately admitted to the the plagiarism charge. If that is honorable in someone's eyes so be it. Claiming an argument or comment to be "ignorant" is a weak response and does nothing to invalidate the comment or argument.

      • Posted By: dgarnernola @ 08/23/2008 11:59:12 AM

What about the liar and cheater that has been running the country for 8 years? Any objection there?

    • Posted By: jmuscato14 @ 08/23/2008 1:59:53 PM

You are spreading misleading lies. He is actually a very honorable man. Get your facts straight.

Our Candidahoice of Joe Biden is terrific. This rounds out the qualities good Americans are seeking for the President chosen to clean up the horrible mistakes of the present Administration. These next weeks will be exciting; please keep us up to date in everything. Anne Bailesy 76 year old American who never fails to study the situation and vote.

Joe Biden is a guy I have long admired. As someone said, he is no ones #2. I agree tht he adds a ton to the Democratic ticket. If I understand the term correctly, it is now one those Kangaroo tickets. The only concern remaining is how long it will take before Biden starts refering to the greviously ambitiousl Obama as "the kid" and everything goes to heck. It will be a war between young Mr. Obama and the esteemed senator from Delaware. These comments frfom a Republican.who sneaked into the room.. .

      • Posted By: Jpoitier @ 08/28/2008 12:09:49 AM

Enter Your Comment God must have wired you guys' brains differently which causes you to see things only in negative term. They go to expensive great schools and come out empty head. Since they have nothing in the brain the only thing left for them is being nagative as if they know something. They never understood anything in common way. I feel sorry for you republicans.

Good choice, just proves Obama is not even close to being able to run this great country!!!

    • Posted By: Jpoitier @ 08/28/2008 12:04:10 AM

Another republican who can't think. Good choice but he is not ready to run the country? This sounds to me as McBush's thinking. The choice is good meaning he is capable of thinking and making the right decisions. The right always has it backward, what a shame?

    • Posted By: benidea @ 08/23/2008 1:12:09 PM

how do you define good and bad. if you want help you ask for it. if you have weakness you fulfill it with a strength, Never spark happens with one stone. Obama has recognized his weakness, which is being peacefull and make peace in america is not easy. His vision is working again by choosing a person that not only gives him strength but also spark.

Joe Biden is a very wise choice. His experience in foreign affairs is a definite plus. His legislative experience is again a definite plus: After all of the division in congress and a destructive and useless VP, we will have in Biden a VP who knows how to get things done in congress. Hopefully he can break the partisan log jam of the last 8 years and help put this country back on the high road. The team is right and the time is right. There will indeed be hope again.

  • Posted By: Jebber @ 08/23/2008 12:26:14 PM

Obama's choice is not change! He is a lifelong Washington guy. He was added to the ticket because Obama is not competent or experienced enough to be Commander in Chief. As for you loons who want to make an issue of the Keating Five, McCain and Democrat Senator John Glenn did the right thing. Here are the facts (if you can read and have any objectivity):
On April 9, 1987, a two-hour meeting[4] with three members of the FHLBB San Francisco branch was held, again in DeConcini's office, to discuss the government's investigation of Lincoln.[8][6] Present were Cranston, DeConcini, Glenn, McCain, and additionally Riegle.[6] The regulators felt that the meeting was very unusual and that they were being pressured by a united front, as the senators presented their reasons for having the meeting.[6] McCain said, "One of our jobs as elected officials is to help constituents in a proper fashion. ACC is a big employer and important to the local economy. I wouldn't want any special favors for them.... I don't want any part of our conversation to be improper." Glenn said, "To be blunt, you should charge them or get off their backs," while DeConcini said, "What's wrong with this if they're willing to clean up their act? ... It's very unusual for us to have a company that could be put out of business by its regulators."[6] The regulators then revealed that Lincoln was under criminal investigation on a variety of serious charges, at which point McCain severed all relations with Keating.[6] Glenn continued to help Keating after that revelation, by setting up a meeting with then-House Majority Leader Jim Wright, which turned out to be the only questionable thing Glenn did throughout the whole affair.[9]

There always will be narrow-minded people in the other side who have nothing in their brains other than being negative. They call themselves conservatives because they failed to live in the present. They still think as we are in the 5th century. I am sorry, you cannot hold us back just because of ignorance.

McCain is no hero. The main is so fool of himself. He is just another mediocre as Bush. These republicans have nothing positive ever. How Christians are they really? What kind of Christians are they? They do not love America either, because if they do they should love paying taxes. That is what a patriot does. They are only gangsters who come to destroy the economy and then we the Democrats come to fix it. It's time to send these Satan to hell and never hear from them again.

If at age 72 the only thing you can do is to run a negative campaign against 47 year old, you must have lived a miserable life. Sorry for poor McCain. This man is too old to be President. Beside, he is not qualified, because he has no brain. He looks phony, irresponsible, and untrustworthy. Remember, he was among the last in his class when graduating from naval academy, isn???t this telling? He just get up and says whatever he is told to say and doesn???t even remember saying it. I know he is phony and trying to act innocent and we must not let us be fooled again.

Great Choice, Mr. Obama. I had the privilege of meeting Joe Biden when he was in Denver campaigning for Kerry/Edwards. He is very knowlegeable about foreign affairs and about the economy. I agree with the previous commentator that his has a BRAIN and is not your "typical" politian. I pray that they are elected and that they can bring this country together because right now we are headed downward in our ability to take care for one another regardless of their race, gender, age, sexual preference, etc. We all have to take responsibility for our actions and we need to support our local, state and national government in order to be strong AGAIN in the world! I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!! VIVA AMERICA!!!

Barack Obama's decision to select Joseph Biden who came through the ordinary ranks of the Amercan life, and who still, on a day to day basis mingles with the ordinary people, and who has tremendous experience in the Senate, and in foreign relations, is only a sign of Obama's wisdom, maturity, courage and his ability to do the right thing! It doesn't show anything negative on Obama's part; it is when one pretends, or when one acts as if he/she has not seen the reality, one becomes like the ostrich! There is absolutely nothing improper in selecting an experienced senator as his VP; it definitely shows signs of maturity and judgement, and a clear sign of acceptance of reality/actuality.

Obama should be seen as a leader willing stand up for the principles, truth, and courage! His background , or, his origins need not be adeterrant - that's what America is all about! Now, Americans have an opportunity to rise above petty l narrow world view, and be able to resist satus-quo, and regain America's
moral standing in the world, and also regain its economic power.

What about all the POWs/MIA soldiers whose rescue McCain deliberately thwarted, just to appease the powers that be? People might not like Ross Perot, but Perot had it correct when he said McCain is a poor excuse for an American...Perot sent his own people over to 'nam to find MIAs and POWs - all the while McCain did EVERYTHING in his power to thwart that - and he has the nerve to say he is a hero?
I beg to differ with his assessment...the McCain people who distort Obama's record and views and who will distort Biden's qualifications, gained their experience distorting the real truth about existing MIAs and POWs - McCain is a disgrace to this country...

  • Posted By: jjriccardo42 @ 08/23/2008 2:46:55 PM

McCain is the new Dubya...Biden is not a bad choice, considering McCain says Obama has no foreign policy experience...Remember, JFK had next-to-no foreign policy experience and, in the end, things worked out well...I can't say the same for Dubya - We all know Cheney is the one running things - Dubya is a pawn - a front man - just gives a dumb faced look to the Presidency...Dubya is Cheney's fall guy... McCain is a Dubya yes-man - or, a Cheney yes-man...and you all critizcize Obama/Biden...at this rate, even Hillary or another 8 years of Bill Clinton would be better than Dubya...Biden as VP can do no worse...
