Let's face is, Obama is an opportunist, an empty suit, a neophyte, arrogant , and totally absorbed in his self-importance. He definitely is not presidential material. When I found out yesterday that he voted to deny medical care to infants born alive through botched abortions, but instead let them die, I lost all respect for this Obama. Even Barbara Boxer, an ultra-liberal senator, from my home state of Californai, voted for giving the infants medical care, but not Obama. He just voted: Let them die! Sickening. How can such a cold hearted man ever be predient?

He was the punk of Mayor Daley and always will be.

To whom it may concern...those of you that spend time with these posts and blogs and such...
...regarding this campaign...if you are interested in some truth and posting something useful or of merit...

Acquire, review, and compare the voting records of each candidate in detail. Take a close look at how either one of them can impact your life circumstances, or perhaps someone worse off than you, contemplate how either one may be able to make a difference in all the practical "real-life" conditions and circumstances that we ALL universally experience or go through at some point in life...
...Also, ask yourself, why am I posting what I post, what's really behind, and why am I behaving this way or why do I feel this way.
Now if you are part of a propaganda campaign for or against whomever, then...you're just doing what you are paid to do...or pledging your blog alliegance to whatever darkness that lies within the dark recesses of your own hearts.

Either way, at the end of the day, what matters more than either of these two men or what they do, is what we do...every single day, to make your lives, your families lives, a the world better than it was when you got here, and better than it was when you left.

        Good luck.

Oh, you are so correct. Obama is a lightweight and a puff piece.

Forty years ago Mayor Daley destroyed the anti-war protesters at the Democratic Convention of 1968. Today anti-war protesters are worshipping the sock puppet of his equally corrupt son. What utter imbeciles.

Morgo and Kas_Wolf, you sirs are what some of us like to call "Haters". It only show's some of you Republicans are blind and deaf to the fact that a so called Republican president by the name of Bush has put are great country into a huge hole and doesn't care in the least as long as he keeps making his money on the side, forget the rest of us. I also bet that neither of you two have servered in the military or have children that are serving in the military have you? Do you honestly think that our fine military service members want a draft ?? Picture it now, our proud service men serving side by side with people that don't even want to be out there in the first place. That my friends would be endangering their lives tenfold. You also can't think that Mccain understands what a majority of us are going through with the economy. That man grew up rich and got even more rich when he left his wife for a rich woman. That right there shows commitment right? That just shows me that once he reaches the white house, he will go back on his words as he did his ex-wife. A man with no morals can never be trusted. I am proud to say that i will be voting for Obama and all your smart remarks that you keep adding to everyones comments that aren't bashing Obama are childish and rude. You Republicans have your hero and us Democrates ( Most of us have ours)

I could care less who this mans choice is, the bottom line is I have serious doubts about his patriotism, his judgement, his character, his wife, his socialistic views, his friends, his true religion ,his real estate deals etc. This man is not qualified to be president, I cannot see how all these people and the press are bamboozled by this empty suit. He is a typical phoney Chicago democrat and that is not good. Wake up America and vote against Hollywood Obama.

    • Posted By: MaddiesFace @ 08/22/2008 4:37:46 PM

I think you called names with faceless, baseless, answered innuendo. And Hollywood Obama? How about Mr. MCain? Anything shameful there?

The Obama game playing with the Vice President announcement is STUPID. It shows more of the childish celebrity play.

I would suggest he talk to Mark Burnett about the following concept after the convention:

    * a Congressional Game Show for "To Drill or Not to Drill" with speeches, signage, and graphs

    * a Reality Show for "Save the Fetus-Thumbs Up or Down"

    * Mile High Stadium Gladiator competition called "3rd World Tyrant Negotiation"

    * Democratic "Shell Game" Game - "Which War should be fight?" Not Iraq, Yes Afghan, Now Pakistan

    * "What's My Line-Name that Radical" Ayers, Farrikhan, Rezko, Wright

    * "Environmental Dunk Tank" Game for getting Carbon Credits for Hollywood jets - rights to dunk Gore, Pelosi, andReid

    kas_wolf:
Point of fact; anyone of the following should have been a showstopper for his campaign:
Rezko and his support (bribes) to Obama
    W. Ayers
Rev Wright (not the man; Obama's support of the theology)
    M Obama's America hatred
    Ill. voting record
Ill. live baby bill - and votes
    lack of experience
lack of success as anything but a slick tongue.

The media is afraid of being accused of playing the race card.
Obama is where he is because he is black. Ferraero got it right.

The Republican Convention is in St. Paul.

  • Posted By: rockies_2008 @ 08/22/2008 3:49:10 PM

Funny that you bring up the $5million is rich in America and you didn't bother to publish the entire quote. Obama has the media in his back pocket and yet the public is getting smarter about this joker.
kas_wolf has it right. I think the Dems are wringing their hands at this point and wishing they had Hillary.

Ronald Reagan was a TWO-TERM Governor from the largest state in the country! Barack Obama is a newbie from nowhere with ties to 1960 radicals, a racist preacher, and a wife who hates her country. He's been losing since the Texas primary and has stayed tied to McCain since June (at least according to the RELIABLE polls). There is NO ground game. He's going to make some "preacher-like" speech at some over-the-top outdoor rally, the media will go nuts and the rest of America will roll its eyes and vote for McCain. John McCain will be the 44th President of the United States of America.

The more people know him the less they like him. Since New Hampshire, all downhill. Bye, bye Barry.

    • Posted By: kas_wolf @ 08/22/2008 3:41:41 PM

This is (happily) true. The more people actually LOOK at this guy and get some news stories on the truth of his record; the more apparent it is that his candidacy is ludicrous.

Democrats who will come home AFTER the convention? I thought they were supposed to come home BY the convention. As for Ms. Lake's and Clift's "McCain is a known quantity; Obama is a new quantity," are you kidding? When vast numbers of voters say they have already heard too much about Obama? As for the youth vote, this has been a laugh since day one. With this sort of wishful thinking, the republic is safe indeed.

  • Posted By: peterclarke @ 08/22/2008 3:32:28 PM

Well folks, it seems the Junior Senator Barack Hussein Obama has broken yet another campaign promise. The one that he would not attack McCain???s wife. Well he has and that will open the flood gates on his wife. Just goes to show all voters that the issue is not the economy stupid, its about the 4 years of inexperience of Junior senator and politician Barack Hussein Obama. Keep smiling.

  • Posted By: allisongayle @ 08/22/2008 3:31:59 PM

Dear Ms. Clift, This election will remain a close race because at long last, Senator McCain has found a message that resonates and he's now found the discipline to stay on that message. Obama has not found a good enough response that reflects his "change" brand. The only good responses he has are the tried and true democrat/liberal vs. republican/conservative responses of the past. Obama has painted himself in a box because he hasn't figured out how to use these tried and true responses without compromising his "change" brand. Now that he's had to disclose his policy positions, it is obvious we're finding that his policies are not as bold and as challenging as his ability to delivery a speech. He's finding that the American electorate are thoughtful and deliberate when choosing their president, and that his eloquent generalities that can ignite a friendly crowd, don't necessarily translate to votes.

I am a former Clinton supporter. I immediately jumped on to vote for Obama. I care about our country and McCain is another train wreck. You think our country is in bad shape now vote McCain in and we'll be lucky to be here as a whole America in 4 years.

    • Posted By: Morgo @ 08/22/2008 3:30:44 PM

Michelle, any reasons we will all perish or just your amazing crystal ball?

I am a Hillary Clinton supporter who also has no intention of voting for Obama. He was not the peoples choice, he was the media's choice. I cannot stand the sight of him or his wife! And that does not make me a raciest, he is just plain not qualifed to be President. The Messiah, Rock Star, Ha!

So, we've attained majority age and our emotions still not under our direct control. I thought when I grew up I would be able to look at things in a cool, calm, calculated and controlled way. I have yet to succeed at such a lofty goal. I seem to have plenty of company though. It is amazing so many people sabotage themselves and their families because of irrational emotions. You get what you vote for. You got 8 years of the oil-tax, war-tax, mortgage fraud, republican machine tanning your backside, wanna make it sixteen?

    Obama for President 2008

  • Posted By: dannyc @ 08/22/2008 2:55:19 PM

The convention is NOT in Minneapolis. It's in St. Paul, a completely different city. Unfortunately, our disgraceful congresswoman, from the outer Twin Cities suburbs, made this same gaffe a few weeks ago on CNN.

  • Posted By: dmholler @ 08/22/2008 2:54:35 PM

I too am a Clinton supporter who has absolutely NO intention of voting for Obama. I have been a Democrat all my life and I can not believe The democratic leadership(or lack thereof) pushed such an unprepared cnaditate for the party nominee. I will not be too upset to see a Republican president (it's inevitable) since I believe the Constitution works best with the seperation fo Powers. The Cogress will be Democrat and the President WILL BE Republican!
