Doesn't McCain have a proven criminal record dating back to the Bush Sr. Administration for his role helping the Keating Five in the S&L scandal...? How can he claim all sorts of mysterious, shady dealings of Obama's with Ayers, for example, when it is HE in fact who was guilty by association - with the Keating FIve, who were convicted.

Wonder how many millions McCain secretly stashed away -- making money off the average Joe in the mid-80s during the S&L crisis? Interesting that Bushes were in power then too - and Neal Bush, W's bro, was up to his eyeballs in the deals (and probably stashed some big bucks away too)... thanks to his daddy, Bush Sr., our then-President.

Thank you, factcheck, for this story. Using the name Rezko has become a mantra to the Obama-haters and it is good to have in print a detailed accounting of how the Obamas bought their single home. For all the hysteria Rezko's name has generated, even I thought there might be a sweetheart deal somewhere in that transaction. It's is enlightening, to say the least, to discover that the Obamas paid MORE than they were asked to slightly enlarge their backyard; that Mrs. Rezko -- far from doing the Obamas a favor -- swung a pretty nifty real estate deal for herself; and that the only "favor" Obama did for Rezko was to support a low-cost apartment complex. Good story!

Be careful where you tread. Obama is from a country with 57 states. I seriously doubt if you could name 100 issues that would be of concern in this election much less 100 that McCain has flipflopped on. As for The Obama's paying fair marked price for their home, they paid $300,000.00 less. The doctor that was selling the house did not want to sell the house unless the buyer bought the lot next to the home too. Obama couldn't afford it so Rezko's wife bought the lot and resold a part of it to Obama for $10,000 plus but Mrs Rezko put up the $14,000 fence. (some fence). It seems that Rezko want his friend Barry to live across the street from him so badly that he got a loan from a long time friend he went to school with. Nadhmi Auchi, a cousin of Suddam Hussein loaned Rezko 3.5 mil just weeks before the Michelle's Dream House Deal. Mr Auchi sent the money from his General Mediterranean Holding company through a Beruit bank account of Panamanian Fintrade Service SA. I am quite sure that Mr Auchi was a good friend because when the judge found out that Rezko had hidden the loan when she was determining his bail, she through Rezko in jail. Mr Auchi put up one mansion and 2 loop condo's for Rezko's bail. What are friends for? Why would Mr Rezko go through all that just to have his friend write a letter? It might have something to do with the legislation that was enacted to help developers of low income housing projects and millions of dollars of tax credits. Mr Obama was also an attorney for the law firm that did the legal work for Rezko. In fact his boss, Mr Allison left the firm and went into partnership on a project with Mr Rezko. Let see, yes, that was the Cottage View Terrace project. Many of Rezko's projects ended up being boarded up, condemned, or foreclosed. There was one cold chicago winter when the tenants had to sue Mr Rezko to get the heat turned on. It was probably because Mr Rezko is from Syria and maybe they don't need heat systems there. He probably didn't know how to fix it. Oh, he didn't know much about plumbing either because the tenants had raw sewage backing up into the kitchen sinks. That's why some people call him a slumlord. I don't think that was too nice and Obama did like it either. That's probably why Obama did not want to make things worse for him and complain about the 11 projects that were in the disctrict Obama served. I don't think there is a house that I would like so much that I would sleep with the devil to get. In fact, I wouldn't even would even move across the street from the devil to get.
