    Comment: I remember growing up riding in my dads '55 Pontiac with the chief on the hood that had a small light bulb in it.

    Comment: There was also a time when privately-made hood ornaments were added to huge luxury cars. Lalique produced many, including one called "Victoire" that was nearly a foot long and had a light in the base so the screaming head was visible on dark roads... they still make some of the classic pre-war styles as paperweights, and the Lalique men's cologne has an annual limited edition bottle designed like a hood ornament on a large radiator cap.
