Bring "dignity and honor" back to the White House - Elect Obama-Biden.

Save the USA from total self-destruction and running on empty - spiritually, intellectually and literally (gas guzzling)... Take the White House back and make it BLACK!!!

Black is the new "White" House! And it will be a distinct improvement to have leadership who understands Americans' challenges, issues and struggles better than anybody from the "lifestyles of the Rich & Famous" class - the McCrass class of Bourgeous Bigots.

I wonder how Biden, being a Catholic, will mesh his values with Obama who is pro-Choice and pro -infantacide?

casey, Jr in PA didn't have a problem--even though sr wouldn't vote for Clinton because of it.

All of you Bush, Cheny and McCain supporters go right ahead and vote your way...You'll be the death of this country and while you may not pay on this earth, I firmly believe that those who run this country and have put us in such dire straits will pay somehow, maybe not in this life....do the right thing for God's sake! We can't keep going down the same path. Obama/Biden 08!

It is the Democrates who wage the americans Suck First campaign that is wrecking the country. and the DNC! try to tell a liberal/leftist that this is a great country and they are all full of "BUT"s !!!! They do not want this country to be great. Don't blame Republicans becuase you think the nation sucks. Blame who is feeding you with the garbage!

Well, maybe if you Republikanischers hadn't single-handedly destroyed everything this country is supposed to be about, then maybe this country wouldn't suck right now.

I am old enough to remember when Democratic Presidents were closer to GW Bush politically than they are to the left wing politicians that now dominate the democratic party. Truman and Kennedy are two that were for active projection of US power globally and tax cutting at home. The Democratic Party has now become the party of George McGovern and Jimmy Carter. God help us if they capture all the levers of power in Washington.

What a great day. Joe Biden is the shining example of what a politician should be: enthusiastic about the pursuit of public good, direct about the issues and infused with an understanding of real world lives of Americans in every demographic. Obama is the inspirational leader we need to get this country back on track and out of the messes inflicted by Bush/Cheney et al. Watch out, Walnuts, the real fight is about to begin - and you are going to lose.

I am very pleased with the choice of Joe Biden and I hope that the Clinton supprters will takethe higher road and see that Barack has the best interest of America at heart and that he will use employ the same pariciples as Hillary woould have to make the decisions that will shape the next 4 years and generations to come in our country. A no vote is a vote for McCain and would simply be a selfish thing to do. I you are a democrat and you believed in the message of Clinton then the choice is clear. Biden will bring experiance and grouding to the ticket that makes it the best the democratic party has offered since Bill Clinton and Al Gore.

The unveiling of "get it done " Obama..... This pick indicates Obama is savey enough to surround himself
with enough "experience " to run the country ,if elected, Makes a 59 yr old small businessman feel better voting for him..

  • Posted By: frediowa @ 08/23/2008 6:07:46 PM

    This is great!
Obama has picked the least last person that I would have believed. He is a looser senator, at least in the national theater, and seems to win in Delaware, where there seems to be nothing important going onbeyond voting for ole Joe, who has plagarized on the Senate, and who comes from an inconsequential electoral college state. Further, if there could be anyone more business as usual than Joe Biden, I am not sure who it would be. Change we can believe in? what change? Way to go. He just lost the election to appease the DNC.

This country is in such a crisis, anyone is better than Bush. I'm certainly pleased with Mr. Obama's choice but wish politicians would learn to keep their mouths shut on occasion. Those that think Obama isn't readly to be President should be asking themselves why did they think Bush was.

You know the words that really hit me as a voter and soon to be ex-democrat were that Hillary wasn't even vetted. In other words never mind what 18 million people thought, Obama didn't care enough even to consider the person 18 million of us thought would be a good Pres. I said "even consider". it reminds me of the day after West Virginia chose her by a huge margin and Edwards decided that next day to announce his support for Obama. I said Wow in other words Scr__ you West Virginians we are not even goning to let you have one day in the media we are hogging it all (funny by a cheater) and I actually felt sorry for the West Virginians. And now well I don't feel sorry for anyone, I feel mad, that what 18 million of us thought wasn't even considered. I am a Floridian and I will vote McCain, I hope he gets Romney to help with the economy.
    An ex-Dem.

    • Posted By: SUZE @ 08/23/2008 6:02:59 PM

Thank-you for writing. I too am an ex-Dem. What they did and continue to do to Hilary is the final straw. I live in CA and lots of us feel this way. Went to 2,000 person plus Democratic meeting and the each time the speaker tried to rally us for B.O. there was a very loud statement made in the small smattering of applause. This was an over 55 group - a group that has always voted in the past.

If you have your way, i pity your kids who have to fight in Iran or Russian, or Iraq - who will have no job, an inferior education and a fascist society that is run by the military. We enjoyed certain liberties the world used to envy. But, if we are poor in school, then we do not know the history.

Hillary polarized her own camp, and she threw the kitchen sink at Obama and hard working people of color. The Clintons were constantly in gridlock and could not pass a universal health care plan when they had two terms in the white house and the economy was strong. You sicken me.

      • Posted By: pugs @ 08/23/2008 10:18:15 AM

NO YOU MAKE ME SICK, BILL DID MORE FOR MINORITIES AND PEOPLE OF ALL COLORS AND STAGES BENIFTTED FROM THE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND 22 MILLION JOBS FORMED WHILE HE WAS PRES, AND EVERYONE TURNED BACK STABBER. THAT IS WHY I AM HILLARY FOR PRES IN 2012 SO MY CHILDREN CAN GET THAT OPPORTUNITY BACK THAT WAS CREATED FOR THEM WHEN THE FIRST CLINTON WAS PRES. NO ONE SEEMS TO REMEMBER THE 90'S I DO.

        • Posted By: Amma @ 08/23/2008 11:37:31 AM

I apologize for saying you sicken me. It is the war that sickens me and the American arrogance that keeps us divided as a people at home and abroad.

Bill was not responsible for economic growth. Post-industrialism, the advancement of information management technology spurred the nation forward. I supported Bill. But, he became ineffective - was under constant attack, disgraced and nearly impeached. Many others progressive people were attacked by the same neo-conservative right wing conspiracy. We could get no help from the White House. The neo-cons gained incredible power to unleash an unlawful war that Hillary, Lieberman, and McCain supported and continue to justify.

How is it possible we can improve the economy if we are in war for the next 10 or 20 years? Since the neo-cons are declaring war on Muslims, perhaps we will be at war for 100 years. America is borrowing money from China and other foreign nations to pay for this war and incurring massive debt ??? such that we wont be able to pay the interest on all of these loans. Those in the gun industry and the big oil giants make great profit. While our children are on the front lines underpaid, maimed and killed, and coming back emotionally traumatized.

Will McCain end the war in Iraq, neutralize Iran with military threats or spur the fight on and obliterate Iran, as Hillary put it? When one votes for McCain, one objectively supports killing, rape, torture of 100s of 1000s of innocent people. Hillary lost an election fair and square? She is the one that got ugly in the campaign and she lost. You want Obama to pay the debt Hillary ran up to discredit him and pit white Americans against him, and choose her as VP - or you will vote for continued military aggression?

The self-righteous indignation to take revenge for the sake of revenge, fight for fights sake is destructive to our national interest. Why not exercise humility? Americans are notorious for arrogance. But, when we are wrong we are wrong. We need more that a fighter. It is essential that American people come together based on common issues that we can rally behind. Not make decisions merely on gender or personal preference -- or we slit our own throats.

The first step in improving the economy is putting an end to this war and working to diffuse aggressive tensions in the world that will ultimately destroy America. We need to focus on education and retooling the American workforce so we can be globally competitive, not begging other nations for loans - that in effect make us worse off than what we witness in third world countries. Our national debt is higher than all of the third world countries combined.

Some may figure we can use barbaric tactics and steal other countries natural resources, but my friends - we will lose those wars and we will pay a harsh and severe price for voting for McCain. Perhaps its in your long-term interest to think twice Hillary supporters.

All I can remeber about Clinton is when he was in the White House with Monica and wheh he and Hillary left (Than God) and took some of the white house stuff with them.

        • Posted By: Ron D @ 08/23/2008 10:23:31 AM

Bill Clinton, like Al Gore did not create the internet. That is why the 90s were a time of economic growth. The dot com bubble just happened to burst about 8 years ago, when the current president took over (by the way I hate bush and am voting obama. Hillary Clinton would not do any better than anyone else right now, so get over yourself.

    • Posted By: Braes @ 08/23/2008 10:05:52 AM

No Hillary supporter is going to jump McCain. The GOP myth machine is working full speed.

I AM A HILLARY SUPPORTER AND I AM JUMPING SHIP BUT NOTICE I SAID I AM A HILLARY SUPPORTER BECAUSE I THNK SHE STILL CAN BE PRES IN 2012. TRY NOT SPEAKING FOR EVERYONE REMEMBER ONE VOTE PER PERSON.

  • Posted By: crazydems @ 08/23/2008 5:22:22 PM

Obama is getting him in there because he's a Catholic. Well, Mr Obama, I as a Catholic would NEVER demean my religion and vote for you. Here's one example, Barack: . Barack Obama was the only member of the Illinois Senate to speak against a bill that would have granted legal protection to already-born babies still alive after a failed abortion. He used his power to prevent those innocent babies from having the best chance to survive. The evidence speaks for itself. It doesn't get much colder than that.

    • Posted By: loriw @ 08/23/2008 5:30:14 PM

you are exactly right. Many people like myself were unaware of this about Obama until very recently. Help spread the word. Picking a Catholic for a VP will not unring that bell, Sen. Obama!

      • Posted By: jojosteele @ 08/23/2008 5:58:39 PM

Apparently you didn't hear him on that matter. Of COURSE you didn't. He made sense when he explained that there was ALREADY a LAW in place...and YOU all aren't accustomed to a politician making sense.

I believe Joe Biden probably should be president. He is knowledgable, experienced and seems to have good judgment. It is not a bad choice. But it won't change my mind. I will not be manipulated by the DNC and the campaign. I'm still voting for Hillary in the fall.

    • Posted By: George from Westerville @ 08/23/2008 3:36:12 PM

I voted for Hillary in the primary, but I believe we need to vote for one of the two viable candidates that we feel will best lead this country. If you are a true Hillary Clinton supporter, you would follow her plea to vote for Obama this fall, whose policies are very similar to Hillary's and both quite different from those of McCains.

Hillary has to vote for oboma, she is a democrat andthe old foggies would run her out of the senate if she did not vote for him but we can vote independent, support Hillary NO OBAMA,FOR ANY REASON

        • Posted By: NewDawn @ 08/23/2008 5:34:04 PM

No Obama does not mean you will get Hillary in White House. It will certainly mean McSame will get in. So here is the picture of next 4 years.
Change in Supreme Court, overturning of the Roe, back alley abortions.
Continuation of War into Iran & Russia, more body bags coming back home,
          Tax break for the rich,
Unlimited loop holes for the BIG OIL croonies with record profits
          Just a few.
Now you do have a choice to write in Hillary, but just think with all passion aside, "Is this how Hillary would like to see our country?"
I share your passion for Hillary, however I have acepted the fact that our campaign did not do its best. We were a few votes short and now we should move on to nominate the one who is closest to what WE stand for.
I believe that it was good that Obama did not vet Hillary. You ask why?
Well, here is what I think is the great chance for Hillary. Sen Kennedy is at a point of retiremnet from Senate. This is a chance for Hillary, to go out this election cycle to get some senators & congressmen elected who are fighting the hard fights. Once they are in they will be her group who can help her gain the leadership position in the House. I think this will be the best thing for her to do as she will be seen as the leader not a number 2. She is not a number 2 and I will ask her advisors to think seriously about a Senate leadership position.

      • Posted By: ej617@comcast.net @ 08/23/2008 5:04:05 PM

If I don't believe either candidate is a person I would like to see lead the country, I don't see another choice. I have been voting for a while and really the only "change" that came was when Carter and Clinton were elected. I have no idea whether Sen Obama has what it takes to lead our country. He hasn't done anything yet - at least anything that sounds like the image of himself he wants to project. Talk is cheap, action speaks. I am really, really unhappy with the DNC, my vote is a precious thing and I will my judgment, not the DNC's when I cast it.
