Biden's mentality is too liberal for being a good Catholic. I hope all Catholics have enough sense to scrap the Obama-Biden idea and vote for the non-Catholic with good morals - John McCain. This country deserves a president with integrity and Obama does not have it. Read the book, "Obama Nation." You will be in for a big surprise.

Good morals? McCain? Divorced and remarried within a year? I'll take an open minded Catholic like Biden any day over McCain.

first let me educate you, don't listen to the Hannity's or the hypocritical, former drug addict Rush Limbough's of the world,it's called pro choice we give the women the choice..Religion (and i'm not Catholic) should never be used when expressing your opinion of a candidate, there is enough prejudice and hatred in the world without you adding to it.

        TREKKIE:

"there is enough prejudice and hatred in the world without you adding to it."

I agree. So why your need for "hypocritical, former drug addict" characterization?

A fine choice that his Republican can vote for in November. Just maybe our nation can get a frest start come January 09. Ron

Isn't it funny how racist always make it a point to state that they're not racist? Then, they continue to comment and remove all doubt. Hmmm.

Fox News is re-airing the Saddleback Church forum today. I recommend that if you did not see it live last Saturday, you catch it today in it's entirety. I was not sold on either candidate, and after voting for Bush in the last election, I was leaning toward Obama this time. However, after seeing how the two candidates answered that Pastor Rick's questions, I'm definitely voting McCain! See it for yourself...experience and leadership, versus waffling. That's what I saw, you will too! Unfortunately for Senator Obama (and fortunately for McCain), Joe Biden is not going to make a difference in a President's roll to make America any better than what we now have.

    • Posted By: Totto @ 08/23/2008 2:00:33 PM

Funny how the "cone of silence" never happened and McCain answered questions before they were completely asked.

      • Posted By: OcPete @ 08/23/2008 2:34:07 PM

Maybe there should be an investigation into your "No cone of silence" theory. If it's found to be true, then I think Saddleback Church should be shut down by the government. But if you're wrong, that would prove that Obama (whom I was leaning toward before this forum) sounds more like a blithering idiot and holds no candle to McCain (whom, I was not going to vote for). Let the investigation begin.

  • Posted By: MBell77 @ 08/23/2008 2:32:58 PM

I've always like Biden. He is thoughtful, personable, and rather straight talking--something McCain use to be--and I think his experience in foreign affairs can't help but be a boost to the Obama ticket. A good choice I think.

  • Posted By: mbdougan@hotmail.com @ 08/23/2008 2:14:57 PM

AMEN! to this is America's post. I too believe the vast majority of American's are uneducated and uninformed people who would given the chance act as sheeple and elect Bush back for another third term, they are that dumb! There is still an ingrained racist ideology in this country. While I am shocked to hear it out of the mouths of some people of which I do business I knew it is still out there, only apparently closeted. I fear that all of the closeted racists will vote for McCain. I do not know how those who voted for Bush can live with themselves much less vote for the same thnigfor another 4-8 years, are you all crazy?

    • Posted By: C. MacLean @ 08/23/2008 2:32:56 PM

The biggest knock on Biden seems to be that he frequently opens his mouth to change feet. However, Bush does it all the time, and still managed to go to Washington twice, so verbal gaffes must not be the big deal every one claims.

Since Dick Cheney and Bush the Elder have shown us how powerful a VP can be, it makes some sense to take a hard look at the VP candidates. And if Biden helps Obama shore up his weaknesses, fine. (Can't imagine who McCain can find to shore up his, but it wil be fun to watch him try).

But with the US in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Russians in Georgia, and the Chinese seemingly everywhere, what we really need to know is who will Obama (and McCain) pick for Secretary of State?

The nominee for Secretary and any Supreme Court justices are much more important decisions than VP - if the MSM really wants to help the American electorate make an informed decision, they need to push the candidates for those choices.

  • Posted By: Nurse Ratchet @ 08/23/2008 12:48:15 PM

I am surprised by all the negative comments. Biden is a great choice, he will provide balance to the ticket. Obama and Biden are extremely smart and both want the best for our country.
Why does every middle class person think they will raise taxes? They want to tax the 68% of corporations that have avoided taxes since 1998!
McCain prides himself on being a war hero. That was forty years ago! He is no more patriotic than Obama or Biden.
And finally, lets stop picking apart everything Michelle Obama says. She clarified her statement a long time ago. I have been ashamed of our US government and its policies for at least eight years, yet I am extremely patriotic. What has Cindy McCain said. Oh, yeah....nothing.
Obama and Biden have moxy and the world loves them. We need a little world support right about now. The best way to deal with Iran is with a world coalition behind us. Trust me, the world views McCain as Bush III.

      Nurse Ratchet -

After reading your request - "Trust me, the world views McCain as Bush III," I wouldn't trust you to be an impartial accurate political observer nor a qualified nurse.

Hillary fans, get over yourselves and quite whining

  • Posted By: Bingobangobongo @ 08/23/2008 2:25:36 PM

I'd rather have a President with the experience. He is the decision maker. Experience is everything and Barry has very little. Thank you, no.

  • Posted By: leepdx @ 08/23/2008 2:23:01 PM

I think Obama's selection of Biden was a thoughtful choice. Biden may be a long standing member of Congress but he has demonstrated his belief that politics is a profession of service in a democracy, speaks his mind and tries to live his life honorably. It also shows great wisdom that Obama can work with someone who has been a critic. An excellent example of good character according to my values.

  • Posted By: thehappyamerican @ 08/23/2008 1:15:55 PM

    Biden! hah!
He obstructed crime control, pretending that peoples rights to keep and bear arms were some how wrecking the US Justice System, and as Clinton needed a certain amount of violence taking place to hatch his gun control schemes!
People died in this country, every day, because liberals will not punish violent criminals! But will try to regiment society threw removal of money (threw tax) and rights ( gun control and other regulation) until the Amerivcan People are "good," which liberals will always say never seems to happen to justify going "further."
Now the DNC has a full scale ultra-liberal, ultra-left ticket! And Americans are getting tired of the Americans Suck First campaign the Liberals and Left have as their banner!
Obama's campaign is shaping up to be a farce. how much more credibility will the MSM squander to prop it up as real?

    • Posted By: Totto @ 08/23/2008 2:22:26 PM

NO, Bush with Gonzalez and Mukasey have "wrecked" the US Justice Department filling it with political hacks, turning it into a subsidiary of the Republican National Committee.

I think Senator Biden is a dignified, intelligent, experienced, man with integrity, grace and good common sense. I also think he and Senator Obama will bring back a sense of worth, value, and hope that this Country has lacked for the last eight years. All you Clinton supporters, I voted for her in the primary, as well, but Democrats have a wonderful ticket, here, so put aside your petty complaints and do your part to stop the train wreck of McCain.

    • Posted By: jjkk @ 08/23/2008 2:21:08 PM

what a PROUD DEMOCRAT you are telling 18M voters to put aside their PETTY COMPLAINTS AND DO YOUR PART. you barrybots don't have a clue. how's your hearing?

  • Posted By: chrisphx66 @ 08/23/2008 1:41:41 PM

If McCain wins, I hope this country suffers terribly for it. We would get just what we deserve - a former 1st-World country that has to borrow from Zimbabwe just to pave our crumbling roads. Maybe we could even divide the country in two (like it isn't already). Dissolve the so-called union.

    • Posted By: mbdougan@hotmail.com @ 08/23/2008 2:20:29 PM

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I cannot believe there are those who voted Bush into office the second time and would do it a third time if they could. Are they crazy? If all of those closeted racists do vote McCain in, we'll need a revolution to get us back on track. This country is going down the tubes...wake up America!
vote Obama/Biden or you'll regret it!

  • Posted By: Isiah35:5-6 @ 08/23/2008 11:23:35 AM

'why..why...can't people give Obama a chance or the credit for his wisdom. If he chosen Hillary, then they would he won because of her. Now that he chosen Biden, people will say he won because of him. My question is if he lose, then is it because of the VP?
When will people see that Obama is very intelligent and has wisdom, which is an application of Knowledge, which is the application of Learning, which is the application of being taught. Which is exactly what Obama did as a University Professor. He taught future leaders the history and policies of the political process. He knows every inch of the political process. Biden has friends in the political process from his long years of being there. That's why he was chosen. I guarantee you that Obama knows more about the political legal process then McCain, Bush, and Biden. However, Biden can be the application of Obama's superior knowledge of the whole system. Question? what did Bush or McCain do to formally train in Political science? Nothing! Experience is great, but knowledge is power. Who would you want to represent you? A lawyer with a degree or man that has court experience. A doctor with a Phd, or a quack with experience. You make the call.

    • Posted By: jjkk @ 08/23/2008 2:17:40 PM

your words are insane. you don't even know what barry taught. he was never a university professor. and your question: if he loses, then is it because of the VP? No of course not. It'll be because of Sen Clinton's feminazis not jackstepping in line with the messiah and because: HE'S BLACK! HE'S BLACK! ala bob herbert. barry will never get blamed for his loss and he knows it.

    • Posted By: Jill from Florida @ 08/23/2008 11:49:32 AM

Wright, Avery, Farrakhan, Daschle, Kerry, Brzezinski. And it's the last one that worries me the most.

He shows total lack of GOOD judgment. If the only thing he showed good judgment in was being against the Iraqi Invasion, why did he chose Biden WHO VOTED FOR THE INVASION!!

So much for his change, unless you mean changing BACK to the Carter administration. No thanks, the world would be much better off if Brzezinski had stayed in Poland and away from any of our POTUS.

      • Posted By: zivo24 @ 08/23/2008 12:12:25 PM

Hey Jill from Florida the F-Up state...

        Here's a quiz for you:

Q: Which presidential candidate was OFFICIALLY REPRIMANDED by the senate for "QUESTIONABLE CONDUCT AND JUDGEMENT"?

A: John McCain (I won't resort to the immaturity of playing propaganda games with his name like you do with Obama).

McCain was not only one of the founding members of the "Keating Five"...he was the one who took the most money and favors from Charles Keating in exchange for his influence into the investigation into the Lincoln Savings and Loan debacle that cost taxpayers more than THREE BILLION DOLLARS.

McCain obviously didn't learn anything from getting caught with both hands in the cookie jar because he has been buddy buddy with lobbyists for his entire career...and today they make up the majority of his top level advisors and fundraisers.

Guess who he is going to be beholden to if he gets elected?

The shameless hypocristy of republicans makes me sick.

If the dems put up a candidate who had cheated on and then dumped his first wife for his second, and been spanked by the senate for taking huge campaign contributions and personal favors (10 luxury all expense vacations) in exchange for influence into a fraud investigation..you would be all over him like a pack of rabid dogs.

        Shameless hyocrisy.

Republicans truly are evil, duplicitous pond scum.

        • Posted By: Jill from Florida @ 08/23/2008 12:31:21 PM

Extremists from both parties are evil. Just as the neocons have destroyed our country, so have the neoliberals with their globalization and/or extremist environmental goals.

This country needs moderates in control of both Houses and the Presidency. McCain is more liberal than Obama is moderate. If Congress is controlled by extremist Democrats, the last thing we need is an extremist Democrat as POTUS.

As for the OBAMA BI n la DEN - the common link is Zbigniew Brzezinski. Brzezinski funded Osama bin Laden under the Carter administration and is funding and advising OBAMA today.

As far as Michelle Obama is concerned, she isn't running, but on the subject a few observations: Since negroes were first shipped to this country, there has been a constant effort by some of us to portray black people as somehow inferior to the rest of us. She is criticized for milder statements than would even get an ear had she been a white woman. It is obvious from the look in her 2 little girls' eyes that they really have a warm and loving home. A child's eyes don't lie. When have you seen that kind of love and family integrity among the Bushes, Cheneys, Clintons, McCains, Reagans, Hannitys, Limbaughs or Ann Coulter? She could get Mother of the Year over any one of their wives. I wonder what Rush tell his children about illegal drug use. I've heard the conversations that Obama and Michelle has with their children. They don't hide them like Bush's "like drunken father, like drunken" daughter. Her comment about being proud of America is no worse than the millions of us who ask, "What the hell is going on in this country?" Don't lie and say that you've never said it. It would be UN-AMERICAN not to express displeasure when OUR government seems to have spun out of control.
