I've yet to see anything that Senator Obama has done that convinces me completely, he could be a President of note. Or someone that would be called a true statesman as was JFK among others.
His choice of running mate bothers me in that it involves no real voter input, as of yet.
Our country is still headed "down the tube" if we refuse to change, or continue to do it so slowly.
Sadly I can't see Mr Biden as much help when he's known to shoot from the lip and doesn't question himself or his possible responses first.

Now they have the upside down ticket. They might have had a chance if the ticket was right side up, but people don???t vote for the VP. If we have the misfortune of winding up with Obama as President of the United States of America, you can be certain that the real man will show himself: ???I???m the man.??? The Pied Piper may have allowed the background people, like those who got Bush elected, to guide him through the process of getting the nomination, but, once he got what he wanted, that???s it. As for the speculation of why Senator Clinton did not want to be considered, she just had more smarts than that.

MCShame will haev you wishing you had Bush back. Remember this one: 'some straight talk, my friends, we will fight a lot more Wars, a lot more Wars. We need to prepare for that.' And the recent ;yeah I agree,' sublty hinting that a draft is a done deal. Blind and stupid are not good qualifications for American advanced citizenship! Get it?

I think Senator Biden is an excellent choice. I've watched him on C-SPAN many times dealing with issues and we need people who are willing to work across the aisle with Republican senators to get things done. I think the chemistry between them will be good and this choice should give confidence to many Americans that we have an experienced VP in the White House strong in Foreign Policy in today's unstable world.

Now they have the upside down ticket. Of course Senator Clinton did not want to be considered for second choice. She has more sense than that. As far as Senator Biden's knowledge of foreign affairs, it doesn't matter. The Pied Piper won't listen to him. He may have listened to the people who, like the Bush let's make a president bunch, showed him how to get the nomination, but that's the end of that. If we have the misfortune of his getting elected to the office of President of the United States, you can be sure that his true attitude will kick in. "I'm the man." No, even the likeab

Johm McCain is a true patriot??? McCain's POW status does NOT qualify him to be President unless you want 4 more years of Bush, which I guess you do, Anna7777777777 (or however many. I can't count them all, sort of like McCain and his # of houses) But I digress to the sacred cow status of McCain. McCain is the original flip-flopper, ESPECIALLY on torture. Go figure that one! Wesley Clark had it totally right about McCain, his POW status does nOT make him a fit candidate for President. Look at all of his gaffes that the media has either covered up or minimized, and quit being such a bunch of media tools...McCain is a guy who doesn't know Shi'a from Sunni, doesn't know that Chekoslavakia hasn't been a country for 14 years...and he's the big foreign policy expert?? And that's his STRONG suit? Let's all think long and hard about the fate of the economy should he become President...Pretty SCARY! America will miss the first bus with any chance of getting us out of this mess if we fail to elect Obama and Biden.
Of course they are trying to tear it down...They know that it would be a strong, effective ticket and Repubs are trying to de-fang it. GOOD LUCK! It's a winner, and you know it and it's driving you crazy...Good....

I read an earlier post by you and despite your inability to spell when using a phrase to bring emphasis to your point and though, maybe you were level headed. Then I looked at this and was with you until you brought Wesley Clark into the equation. What is wrong with people? Does everybody just talk without any basis to their opinions? Get smart before you spout. http://www.antiwar.com/orig/jatras12.html As for the ticket, it is upside down, Biden should be the nominee and Obama the Veep. The only good out of the Biden choice, is at least he didn't pick Clark. The brain is an vital part of our existence, don't waste it. Learn what you are talking about and use facts instead of emotion to make a statement.. PLEASE!!!!!

This will be a case of the VP being the one in control and the President subserviant to Bidens control. Mark my words.

'why..why...can't people give Obama a chance or the credit for his wisdom. If he chosen Hillary, then they would he won because of her. Now that he chosen Biden, people will say he won because of him. My question is if he lose, then is it because of the VP?
When will people see that Obama is very intelligent and has wisdom, which is an application of Knowledge, which is the application of Learning, which is the application of being taught. Which is exactly what Obama did as a University Professor. He taught future leaders the history and policies of the political process. He knows every inch of the political process. Biden has friends in the political process from his long years of being there. That's why he was chosen. I guarantee you that Obama knows more about the political legal process then McCain, Bush, and Biden. However, Biden can be the application of Obama's superior knowledge of the whole system. Question? what did Bush or McCain do to formally train in Political science? Nothing! Experience is great, but knowledge is power. Who would you want to represent you? A lawyer with a degree or man that has court experience. A doctor with a Phd, or a quack with experience. You make the call.

Not that I would like to see these two elected, but it would be really fun to watch Biden get the criticism he dishes out from the other side. This Senator has an ego big enough to fill the Nations Capital 3 times over. Yes he is well respected, however he is like Jessie Jackson who talks to her himself speak and only is reasheard by his own comments. These two together is like the Clinton days all over again only with different names. Lets get real, Bidon will not take the # 2 position well for 4 years let alone 8 and likely he would cost them the election if elected in 4 years anyway. This guy should be excommunicated from the Catholic Church. I cannot believe he recieves communion when he promotes death of a child with no voice. What a hipacrit. Don't claim a religion you never plan to practice fully. Better you start your own new relgion and pick and choose what you will and willnot practice. Biden and Obahma deserve each other because they both want change but it;s change they can only give on their terms. Let's remember it the United States of America and not the United States UNDER Obahms and Biden.

Are we to believe that Bill Clinton's finances would be MORE scrutinized if Hillary was seeking the VP spot than if she were the Dem presidential candidate? Perhaps the American public needs to do a better job of "vetting" their presidential candidates. Good luck to Senators Obama and Biden.

HRC supporters: she LOST. Shut up and go away. Vote for McCain. How many houses? Could it be 7? How much money must you make to be rich in America? $5 million. You are a bunch of sore loser idiots. How could a man that doesn't know how many houses he owns and thinks $5M is rich lead this country? I think 1/4 million is a lot, as do MOST Americans. Obama - you're the first Democrat I'll vote for.

    • Posted By: what? @ 08/23/2008 11:18:22 AM

"shut up and go away." & "bunch of sore losers"

Wonderful way of showing party unity! Keep up the good work!

Gosh...what happened to "change"...this guy has been in Washington a whole lot longer than McCain. And, like Obama, he has never managed anything. If he had to have foreign policy to offset his deficit there, why not Bill Richardson??

  • Posted By: Doug17 @ 08/23/2008 11:17:50 AM

So Senator Clinton preferred that her husband's finances not be scrutinized if she were selected for the VP spot, but they wouldn't have been analyzed if she were seeking the Presidency? Perhaps the American public needs to do a better job of "vetting" the Presidential nominees in the first place.

  • Posted By: tsalagi @ 08/23/2008 11:16:09 AM

I don't care for Biden and this gives me even more reason to vote for McCain!!!

  • Posted By: Bob2008 @ 08/23/2008 9:23:39 AM

Joe Biden said "I mean, you got the first sorta mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," about Barak Obama. He also said Obama is a nice guy, but inexperienced and NOT Ready to be President. Has Joe Biden become an opportunist like Obama?

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/23/2008 10:25:11 AM

Noway! He's a Democrat. Democrats are way above that kind of stuff. They're not politicians, just the Republicans lol
