How does Biden not represent change? Change means getting away from an administration that goes to war for oil. Change means getting away from an administration that couldn't foresee a long and expensive occupation in Iraq (as both Biden and Obama did BEFORE the invasion). Change means moving on from a worthless commodity of oil that pollutes our air, empties our pockets, and funds our enemies.

Besides the verbal gaffes there is the lying about his academic record in college and law school. He brings nothing to the ticket that will help in the midwest or elsewhere. Ted Nugent for secretary of da fence.
Ann Coulter for secretary of state.
    Sharpton in charge of education.
    Jack Kavorkian for Surgeon General.

Where is "Change" now? Obama targeted Biden, Clinton, and Edwards on their Iraq votes and for being life-long politicians (not to mention PAC or lobbyist $$$- goodness!). NOW Obama & David Axelrod require experience: Biden. I like Biden (for Defense Secretary!), but Obama has done a 180 degree turn on his rhetoric of 'Change'. I wonder if Biden had to kiss Obama's "ring" for the position (Biden initially supported Clinton). Also, Biden said that he was "not the VP guy". Now, I initially supported Edwards initially due to his campaign in 2004, and once he was on Kerry's ticket (sic), he debated a fair "stalemate" against Dick Cheney. Since the affair broke (well, it's been known to the Edwards' since 2006) why such HUGE coverage now?? Maybe to get him off the VP list, but I wonder who helped push the media domino that disseminated the news so quickly (Axelrod?). What was Obama's start? "Community Organizer" = getting folks to vote for you in the future while denouncing other candidates via challenging any write-in signatures vying for the same position within the IL legislature and beyond. I'm not sure of Obama; he utilized tactics that helped him "win" the national Democratic nomination. Additionally Richardson, Biden, Dodd & Hillary Clinton have done more for the US than Senator Obama. Richardson had decent foreign credentials with the experience of balancing budgets & improving the lives of constituents. Senator Obama utilizes Axelrod's marketing company to enhance his image and to sway public opinion in his favor: http://www.nbc4.com/news/15616529/detail.html
You see, as a new member of the US Senate, Obama had 'no intention' of running in 2008: http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A48523-2005Feb23?language=printer (but we know he was running since the 2004 DNC in Boston)
Lastly, for the entire 'lowdown' regarding this Democratic campaign, please review this: http://www.thecityedition.com/Pages/Archive/Winter08/2008Election.html
I'm not voting for McCain, but I might abstain voting in the presidential category for the first time in my Democratic life; the Biden selection will cause folks to say that if the Obama/Biden ticket doesn't win in November, it will be Clinton's fault (?!?). No, it will be Senator Obama's fault - the primary has been over (by the MSM and respective parties)- so if Obama cannot sway opinions about him (with a PR firm to boot!), the loss is on him. BTW, I'm African American!

Great choice. Biden is a mainstream caucasian-american that is articulate and bright and clean...not that good-looking though.

Go McBush! Let???s elect another genius after the last one pur our country in such good shape. Obama has the brains to help right our country and Biden has the experience to guide him through the process. I think that some will be disappointed Hillary did not win, but there is bad blood between her and Obama and she would be a distraction. Mcain is not the answer our country can???t survive 4 more years of big government republicans.

Go McBush lets elect another genius on the verge possibly the worst recession in our lifetime! Maybe the reps can put us another 50trillion in debt in the next 4 years! Biden and Obama are a dream team, together they have the intellegence to get our contry back on track.

So much for Obama being a voice of "Change" and New Politics. Clearly the DNC has him on a very, very short leash and is controlling his every decision...

    • Posted By: sadler05 @ 08/23/2008 4:55:16 AM

where did you get this idea??? How did you determine this was a DNC choice? Is Biden not progressive enough for you? Or is there some other basis for your statement not backed up by the facts.

Speaking of the smear machine, what are the chances posts 3:45:50AM to 4:05:44 AM were made by McCain operatives? Is anyone else up at those hours??

  • Posted By: saxxon_domela @ 08/23/2008 4:12:09 AM

Congratulations to Senator Biden. He has the style, wit, and charm to counter the right wing smear machine. He will allow Senator Obama to continue to take the high road while he counter punches against the a tactic that has been all to successful in the past. You've got hard work ahead of you Joe, thanks for stepping up.

Brilliant pick. Obama now has a running mate who called Obama too inexperienced to be POTUS, but makes up for that by deivering his 2% of the vote and the state of Delaware. And that vote of his to authorize the Iraq war dovetails nicely with Obama's message. Seems like the main thing they have in common was being wrong about the Surge, calling for a retreat and a bloody mess left behind.

Hillary did say no, and so did all the others on the so called short list. Obama's pick of Biden proves he had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for a running mate.

Obama/Biden will win in 08 - but too bad for them the win will be on The Biggest Losers Show!
