Well, Obama has mystique and that's about it! I hope enough Americans wake up to that fact before November! He has no real federal experience beyond two years in the Senate before he declared for the Presidency. he has no real new ideas. What he does offer is the same old tax, spend & regulate of Liberal orthodoxy. He has the most liberal voting record in the Senate.

He talks a good game so long as he keeps his eyes on the teleprompter. He talks about change but change from what to what exactly? That is never made clear. He chooses a hack and a Washington insider forever to be his vp.

His first significant decision was to choose a person for Vp which undercuts his "change" mantra and is nearly as old as McFart! The Dems are a joke! Wake up America and vote for the old guy on the Republican ticket who will probably choose a young guy like Pawlenty for vp. Go McCain, go! NOBAMA, NOWAY!

You idiots said the same thing of Bill Clinton, He had no experience. Let me tell you something, Clinton kept our country at peace, brought the deficit down to zero and created 20 million jobs and we had a great reputation around the world. Bush and the republican party has destroyed all of this and you have the nerve to deny what a man with so call no experience, did? What has Bush done with his experience?? Let me tell you
one more thing, I would rather vote for someone who has little experience but someone who is willing to learn and to listen!! Also some one who has the intelligence and the
competences to run this country which you, republicans do not have. you have proven your lack of intelligence, commom sense and incompetence again and again. WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!

Check your history book for the definition of Reaganomics. Then skip to the part where Bill Clinton flipflopped on a campaign promise, thereby continuing the same policies, much to the great disappointment of the democratic party faithful. Clinton's success was on the coattails of Ronald Reagan.

The tax and spend label from the right-wingers doesn't hold water when under the last THREE repugnant presidents we have had a record deficit and the only ones who get a tax cut are the super rich. Also, the deregulation practices of the repugnants have caused the mess that we are in now. He doesn't have the most liberal voting record in the senate, that was a lie started by a right wing organization.
Does he have to spell out the change to you? It should be obvious, it is change from the last eight years of failed policy.

I think it is funny that you criticize Obama for not having experience in one sentance and then a few later you criticize him for picking a VP that has vast experience

I say, Wake up America and vote for someone who will change the policies of the last eight years over someone who has promised to continue them.

Very well-written article. In attempting to answer the reason behind Obama's charisma and appeal, it reveals that he is deriving authority from the voters more by his appearance and manner, not from a substantial background of experience and achievement. He is "the new kid on the block" that all the other kids want to hang out with. America elects him at its own peril. Who do you suppose Russia's Putin would rather have to deal with, Obama or McCain? Obama is as refined and McCain is rough, but who is more genuine? And who has more experienced?

    • Posted By: sparky716 @ 08/28/2008 12:39:57 PM

Depends.... if you want to go to war with Russia first and talk next or do you want to talk first and then may be go to war with Russia...who cares who Putin would reather deal with he will still be dealing with America

      • Posted By: wildlifeusa @ 08/28/2008 1:34:43 PM

YOU better care! Russia has the money and the man power!! Let's not forget, oil and gas.

I hope you like mushroom clouds. Jingo John does.

I watch the convention last night and I was amazed but not surprised how well spoken all these democrats were. Not only well spoken, but highly intelligent and full of common sense. They are the true americans, patriotic, compassionate. They are they are the only ones who can take this country in the right direction.

  • Posted By: neda @ 08/27/2008 2:35:35 AM

I see just how cool obama is when he starts stuttering and stammering. His stammering and stuttering is downright embarrassing and shows him coming unglued. Obama has no substances. He is all about talk.

    • Posted By: wildlifeusa @ 08/28/2008 1:04:59 PM

Hey Neda, the french are buying your banks!! Not bad for a socialist country!!

  • Posted By: Loden Green @ 08/28/2008 12:40:19 PM

Just one more backhanded swipe at Obama by the media. Jingo John McCain is going to sail into the White House on red carpet pushed by the media. When this 72 year-old with memory problems, a history of recurrent cancer and a hot temper gets his finger on the nuclear trigger, God help us all.

    • Posted By: jomamaisdaman @ 08/28/2008 12:49:44 PM

You're implying that the media is biased toward Obama????? What cave are you living in? It's been nothing but a lovefest for this chameleon. Sort of like 1930's Germany all over again.

  • Posted By: wildlifeusa @ 08/28/2008 12:43:55 PM

Republicans are all about lies and manipulation. Don't get fooled again.

I don't think Obama is reluctant to talk about himself becuase he is nerdy and into policy discussions. I think he doesn't want to talk about himself because he is incredibely guarded. He is a man who has been disappointed by people (like his father). It is much easier to take hits to and criticisms of your policies than it is to open yourself up personally to criticism.

I'm voting for Obama because John Mcstupid is to old, lives in the past and has done nothing in the senate in 30 years...why all of a sudden can he do something ....he's a flip flopper on everything and can't remember how many homes he owns or what kind of car he drives...hell he can't remember what he said the day before...I'll bet every one who reads these comments and has a comment knows how many homes they own and what kind of car they drive...how can you trust a man to run our government who's only memory's are being a pow for 5 years and thats all he's got...he's had did nothing in the last 8 years but vote 95% of the time with his good friend bush...I'm only a 62 year old US Navy vet and retired electrician BUT I know how many homes I own and what kind of car I drive....John McBush scares me

NO BOUNCE FOR OBAMA EVEN AFTER THE MICHELLE AND CLINTON SPEECHES! HMMM COULD IT BE THAT EVERYONE SAW THAT MICHELLE'S WAS A SCRIPT AND THAT CLINTON BARELY ENDORSED OBAMA (NEVER SAYING HE WAS READY TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY OR THAT SHE THOUGHT HE WAS!) WITH GOOD OLE BILL SPEAKING TONITE THERE WON'T BE A BOUNCE IN THE FUTURE EITHER! BILL CLINTON WILL NOT LET ANYONE TELL HIM WHAT HE WILL SAY IN A SPEECH AND YOU COULD BET HE WILL SAY WHAT THE OBAMA CAMP DON'T WANT YOU TO HEAR (ITS PART OF THE CLINTON PLAN!)

    • Posted By: raddave @ 08/28/2008 10:43:52 AM

I guess the Obama camp didn't want to hear Pres. Clinton say that Obama is ready to be President. Because that is what Pres. Clinton said lastnight.

To nedalife.... President Obama has said for his view he would not choose abortion. But he is for giving a women her God given right to choose. You nor I have the right to butt in. It's between her and her maker. Ya got it ....Good. Now Obama is a thinker and speaks the truth about what he thinks. McCain has nothing to say he's the same as bush. he just likes telling 55 year old War Stories. I want to hear about Health care for all.

    • Posted By: neda @ 08/27/2008 9:00:29 PM

      yeah, right.

    • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 08/27/2008 10:47:34 AM

Except if it is one of Obama's girls who he wouldn't want "punished" for a mistake. And check the fact check on his claim that he did not oppose medical care for fetuses born alive.

What does "stittering" mean. Are making fun of people laughing at someone else?

    • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 08/25/2008 4:06:01 PM

Be fair and note the many gaffes committed by McCain; blunders, lost train of thought, mideast geography mistakes, on and on. Then hoping for a relaxed town-hall environment, thinking that his ineptness will go over better and he can just laugh and say, one more time "my friends"

  • Posted By: repub4obama @ 08/27/2008 4:49:28 PM

Not the right wing conservative McBushites. They hate the fact that he is loved by true Americans and the international community. You can see the right wing conservative pics that tried to assasinate them. they look like most of the anti Obama bloggers on here. Quite pathetic.
I just don't understand you right wing conservative McBushites, why do you want all of our politicians to be hated by the world and America.
You guys love Bush and are just dying for 4 more years of failed Bush policies. Doesn't make sense.

    No more McBush 08

    Excellent article.

It seems to me that whether it's Obama or Mccain, we Americans hope that someone is not "all talk" and that he's going to come in with a magic wand and fix everything for us.

I think it's time we Americans learn to grow up and fix our own problems. Out of a job? Get some more training while you work waiting tables. High gas prices? Demand the electric car and buy a bike. Bad economy? Stop using your credit cards. Global warming? Recycle, take shorter showers, get involved.

Only when we start trying to makes things better will things start getting better. No president has a magic wand.

  • Posted By: jnakhoul @ 08/27/2008 10:27:48 AM

neda: what world do you live in? mccain is the one how offered up the gas tax holiday, the shining example of how he is entirely incompetent with regards to the economy and that he is a populist with little concern for what effects his policies would have on the long term

  • Posted By: neda @ 08/27/2008 2:50:21 AM

obama tells you what you want to hear and what makes you feel good. As a result all of you are running around here having obama orgasms. At some point, though, reality have to set in. His talk is rhetoric and his change amount to the same old same ole. For goodness sake in an attempt to again please everybody, this man said it is above his paygrade to decide when human rights begins. That was a simple question. Everybody knows he is pro choice. We all expected a ligitimate answer from him. Not that above my pay grade crap. When I see obama I see a fake, a big phony.

  • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 08/26/2008 11:48:08 PM

If we end up wtih McCain, the rest of the world sees this as the definitive decline of America's power and influence. We will sign our warrant to weakness and descent. It will be the end of America's era of greatness. Couple that bad decision with our dependence on world oil - we consume 25% of total world production and have only 3% of it in our country (this from the Montana Governor, who knows the oil biz since they are drilling in the Bakken formation in his state and in N. Dakota) - discovered or not!

We have peaked out on oil in the USA since 1970, just like we will have peaked out on our country's geopower if we elect McCain in 2008..

No way, no how, no McCain!
