I think it would make a difference if he were Muslim. We are fighting a Radical Muslim theology and having someone who states in his own words that he would be on the "Muslim side" truely makes a difference in whether we should vote for him or not. Because he is from African decent doesn't mean a damn thing today to me but perhaps it does to others of African decent. If he were Republican, with a Republican agenda spelled out, I would vote for him in a minute.
Having the radical ideas that Wright and Ayres gave him, this candidate has issues he will have to discuss and bring out before I would vote for him. Even his own VP pick says he is too inexperienced to lead as President. He has about 6 weeks of experience being a U.S. Senator. Most of his votes were either "Present" or "Abstain", both of which doesn't show anything about him other than being coy.
I think, we are not that far gone to Socialism, for Mr. Obama to be president.

Pompous news writers often forget that people outside their elitist circles actually act upon what they believe. For the few of us who did not loose the ability to think critically to the TV set. It is frustrating to see how Americans are being misguided by wrong and potentially dangerous premises often peddled by news and nightly live shows. Contrary to what TV says, real Muslims have a low view of Islam Ala Americana; unlike their American counterparts they do believe what the Koran says, Islamic nations MUST be understood in light of the Koran. Since I want my comment to be posted I am not going to quote the various verses in it I find relevant to my statement but I do exhort all Americans (specially those who believe that everybody can just forget about their core values in order go get along) to read the Koran and THINK FOR THEMSELVES.

Many of those proclaiming Obama to be a Muslim know that it's a lie. The same boards where these scurilous vermin dwell have well refutiated the claim. But it's a convenient way to smear him. It's all by design. The portrayal of Obama as a "celebrity" is also aimed at the reactionary subconscience. Obama is a celebrity because that is where he belongs. In their eyesw, he can be an athlete, an actor or a rap singer, but he must not under any circumstances be the leader of the free world.

Here we go, thanks Media. Right before the convention. And you see what type of dumb, ignorant sludge it's drawn up? So many conspiracy theories, just as ridiculous as Obama being an alien! (I read that) I do now realize that there are really slow, uneducated people in this country... most need a straight jacket and a sedative...accompanied by 4 white walls. Please don't vote you idiots, and do this country a favor and leave!

This country has some THINKING people. I would suggest that you start doing that instead of calling names to people who have the country's welfare at heart!

WHERE??? So far, most of what I've read here is incredibly stupid. Who cares what religion ANYBODY is? It's not like anyone was following their professed faith(s) anyway. Just read the hate and bigotry professed here; It fairly leaps off the screen. People who live in glass houses....or, more aptly, pots calling kettles black!!

Indeed! The Muslims are a religion like any other. So why are they feared simply because they have radicalism within, so don???t the Christians, sad to say. Look back into the radicalism based on Christianity, the Jim Jones cult, the snake handlers, not mentioning several others. Are we going to fear the Christianity because of the mentioned here?

Muslims, like Christians, believe in God, his Prophets, the judgement day and accountability for evil and good, they regard Jesus as a messenger of God and born from virgin Mary. They revere and regard all the prophets mentioned in Bible as holy people. They believe in family values, the sanctity of human life and freedom, the right to self rule. They share similar economic doctrines, that is the free market economy. They have lived peacefully for centuries side by side when politicians left the two peoples and their religions alone. Muslim leaders all over the world condemned the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and the ones before and after that. There are more than 5 million muslims living in the US, and they are not going anywhere. My fellow Americans, we better start understanding each other and look at ways to start a dialogue. When we do that, we will see the true human heart in all of us.

The Nazi considered themselves Christian and so do the KKK and How many Christain men have raped their own daughters? Too many. This religious baiting is just sick and stupid. Read history there is nor has there ever been any majior religon that did not committ crimes against people it just a sad fact of civilization. Where is the kigdom of God if it dosn't lie within your heart?

Yeah, so what if he were Muslim? Democrats adore Muslims anyways -- if anything, it would be an advantage!

  • Posted By: Chloe123 @ 08/25/2008 1:26:38 PM

"So what if he is a Muslim?" Is that the question now?? Now it is too late to ask that- he denied it a hundred times. If he is - and admits it- He will be determined as non credible and offically the liar some know in their gut that he is. The Convention is nothing more than a circus. Anyone who thinks Obama will win is trully delusional.

  • Posted By: topcat9 @ 08/25/2008 1:19:54 PM

Hatemongering Democrats are just as evil as any hate mongering conservative. The only difference is Democrats can't tell the difference between obamas "change" and a fairy tale.

  • Posted By: umapathy @ 08/25/2008 1:17:56 PM

I believe that by making a statement "I am not a muslim" and emphasising Obama's christian faith Obama and his campaign has give fodder for discussion. It basically tells me,it is not OK to be a muslim,Muslims or other religious faiths candidates cannot be a president.
What Obama or his Campaign should have said is ,I am not a Muslim, but even if I were one elect me for who I am and not based on my religion.

So What If He Were Muslim?????......I can't stop laughing.....IF he were muslim....hahahahahahah....of course HE IS MUSLIM.

Almost as bad is how hard he has tried to deny it. ALMOST. Not a lot of things more disgusting, than Islam. The spawn of a fallen Angel and a pedophile warrior.

I love the term "Radical Islam". That means the ones that are radical actually perform the murders. The non-radical only provide finances and moral support.

    Allah Akbar....NOT

A mohammed in the White House??? GOD forbid...And HE has....

Most of you bloggers have never even set foot outside the US - and I venture to guess you've never really known anyone who is a muslim in your entire lives. You'll never know what you're missing. Narrow minds are dangerous minds.

      • Posted By: emmarcee @ 08/24/2008 7:43:42 PM

what you are missing? I guess we really don't miss your contorted one prophet blind religion. Bye Bye.

        • Posted By: jeffreylebowskijr @ 08/25/2008 1:14:45 PM

And what, exactly, is Christianity then?

  • Posted By: valark @ 08/25/2008 12:33:19 PM

I really love how all these proud Christians are ready to slander anyone...nice purity and faith there guys. What a flexible god you believe in.

    • Posted By: katjones37 @ 08/25/2008 1:04:47 PM

Don't go swiping that brush too far and wide. Not all Christians are ready to slander anyone who is not Christian.

      • Posted By: valark @ 08/25/2008 1:14:37 PM

the ratio on here is rather large, I would say about 10 to 1 against true Christian values...it really detracts from a person's statement if they say that so and so is full of hate but I am not while saying hateful things

of course there is always an exception to the rule, but the fact that so many people want to emphizise the division rather than close it shows much more than claims of faith

  • Posted By: imthedudeman @ 08/25/2008 1:14:08 PM

I see the same thing over and over. Everyone sees what they want to see. If you want to dislike somebody because of their political party, the color of their skin, their religion, whatever the reason you'll find a way and never look back. It's just easier that way. And tell me I'm wrong when I say: America wants it easy.

  • Posted By: kirt @ 08/25/2008 1:13:01 PM

It is a sad fact that having religon or should I say claming the right religon is so important in the US. "In my house there are many manson" is not truly felt. It has always been if I clam to believe in what you clam to believe in, then that is OK. To bad because just claming a faith dose not one a good person nor a moral person. I have know too many people who clam to be this or that but are in fact a bunch of butt heads. It is your works by how you treat your fellow person that makes the true difference in life.

  • Posted By: abadreview @ 08/25/2008 12:49:32 PM

Great piece. However, I think it's time to drop the whole non-existent muslim issue. He is NOT a muslim, never has been, so it's completely irrelevant. Anyone who thinks he is a muslim, is a stupid idiot, and a waste of oxygen.

    • Posted By: jayj211 @ 08/25/2008 1:10:43 PM

I completely agree with you. Obama isn't a muslim. Why are we even discussing it? Even if he was, who cares?? The only people this is an issue for are ignorant trash that are scared of something they don't understand or Republicans who are trying to win an election the only way they know how - by playing dirty. The comments from some of these so-called "Christians" are so far removed from Christian value, it is sickening. And it's making real Christians look bad. Ignorant Christians are exactly why I became an Atheist.

  • Posted By: rgiron @ 08/25/2008 12:24:15 PM

Wrong. What a contradiction. Look at the US currency. In GOD we trust. How can a Muslim follow and lead this nation with this kind of belief? As a Church goers, are you to say that if I went to Iraq and tried to be elected for president in a background other than Muslim that they would say "By all means..your in!"? I think not. But they come to the US of A because they can. What kind of crap is that. They can do this to us and yet we can't do it over their? One thing they do on their country's that we really lack here in the US of A is consistency. Demo's have no backbone. They like to make everyone happy for the sake of everyone without repercussion.

    • Posted By: katjones37 @ 08/25/2008 1:09:55 PM

Uhhhh, you DO know that the word "Allah" is the phoetic version of the Arabic word for "God."??? Just like "Dieu" is French for "God" or "Gott" is German for "God" or "Deus" in Portugese, or "????????" in Greek, or "??????" in Russian.

This attorney needs to be disbarred

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 08/25/2008 1:08:21 PM

disbarred???? read his statement. Hussein can put an end to it quick....by providing simple documents...IF HE HAS THEM. If he doesn't he is not eligible to be POTUS. It also shows he is a complete fraud.

and I am ashamed of the majority of you people posting here.
My heart aches for all of you. We should respect ALL people no matter who we vote for.

you are a mom...at least your screen name says so. Hussein Obama used every bit of influence he had....to try and insure "born alive" botched late term aborted children, were not given medical attention, and left unattended to die. The identical bill passed the U.S. Senate unanimously...even Boxer and Kennedy, spoke out with passion for a ban on this practice. Illinois passed the ban, as soon as Hussein left.

And we should respect this scum??? NOT ME.
