I just hope that if Obama is so bothered with Change, he will start addressing that Change with the help of Biden. He's doe'nt need to address people any more about his diversity, people can look that up, but this is where the slagging should stop and Biden & him must address the economic needs of this nation and restore stability with a plan in mind. It's not easy to reverse what has happened but atleast start building somewhere.

America has not gotten the memo, but people all over the world are viewing us as idiots. I was on a Canadian blog the other day, where they were saying how pathetic we were for basing our decision for president on factors such as race.

This election is about Deomocrat vs. Republican cancer policys for America. The rest is bull crap tabloid, market news magazine. You don't give a patient four more years of cancer for the cure. Report the issues ,economy, rotten for chain, high price gas corruption, treason, pervertion in office. Is Obama a muslim ,is McCain the Hanoi candidate?

Yes you are right. Religion should not be a factor in electing our president. All things being equal race, religion and gender do not matter. We are electing a political leader, a moral leader in addition to our government leader. So why do these qualities enter into our decision. Hate, bias, apathy, prejudice are more important to the majority of us. We only care if they look the look walk the walk and talk the talk.

The funny thing is, while Christians go out as messengers of their faith or missionaries, they aim not to only help but also convert. There is nothing wrong with that. But when they FEAR a man thinking he might be muslim although he's been part of a church for nearly 2 decades and baptized his 2 children and married in a church, its very hypocritical. Im not speaking of the majority but it finally comes down to the fear factor. And no im not attacking Christians. Just saying that America is a predominantly Christian country and if a man chooses Christianity although it wasnt part of his early life what's wrong?

    Jefferson Versus the Muslim Pirates
    Christopher Hitchens

America???s first confrontation with the Islamic world helped forge a new nation???s character is a great read. How many know why the Marines were called Leathernecks? Why Jefferson studied the Koran..or what was meant by " ???From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli."? Excerpt: "But one cannot get around what Jefferson heard when he went with John Adams to wait upon Tripoli???s ambassador to London in March 1785. When they inquired by what right the Barbary states preyed upon American shipping, enslaving both crews and passengers, America???s two foremost envoys were informed that ???it was written in the Koran, that all Nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon whoever they could find and to make Slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.??? (It is worth noting that the United States played no part in the Crusades, or in the Catholic reconquista of Andalusia.)

Ambassador Abd Al-Rahman did not fail to mention the size of his own commission, if America chose to pay the protection money demanded as an alternative to piracy. So here was an early instance of the ???heads I win, tails you lose??? dilemma, in which the United States is faced with corrupt regimes, on the one hand, and Islamic militants, on the other???or indeed a collusion between them.

It seems likely that Jefferson decided from that moment on that he would make war upon the Barbary kingdoms as soon as he commanded American forces. His two least favorite institutions???enthroned monarchy and state-sponsored religion???were embodied in one target, and it may even be that his famous ambivalences about slavery were resolved somewhat when he saw it practiced by the Muslims."

As you or someone noted here this is all Bush's fault. History often repeats itself. It is particularly interesting to go back in OUR AMERICAN HISTORY to see what historical events and factors determine how many see "terrorism" past and present and how often intertwined a century or more before. Americans would do well to consider the lessons of the War with Islamism fought by Thomas Jefferson and again by James Madison and this alternate meaning in Franklin???s final words of warning. On the Slave-Trade To the Editor of the Federal Gazette March 23d, 1790: See OUR AMERICAN HISTORY : http://virginiavirtucon.wordpress.com/2007/01/03/thomas-jefferson-and-islam/

By the way: I have traveled outside this country..but I am an American first and foremost and forever. I find the countries I have visited to be very friendly and whomever made up "they all hate us" is bumper sticker "Liberal Garbage' " meant to divide for one's own political or personal agenda.

    Thanks for reading.

What does Obama and Osama have in common?
They both had (have) friends who bombed the Pentagon.

Maybe an ongoing joke but..............one has to wonder about the long time friends of Obama.

Most of you bloggers have never even set foot outside the US - and I venture to guess you've never really known anyone who is a muslim in your entire lives.

What do Romney and Kerry have in common?

They both like to sip tea over crepes suzettes and exchange polite conversation in French.

No more mega-millionaires and fundy fruitcakes ruining our country.

There is something truly strange about mega-millionaires wanting to be in politics. Seems like a very basic conflict of interest to me -- they should be barred from the possibility of running for president.

Fundies are just deluded individuals no matter what religion they espouse. Muslim, Jewish or Christian - these are the threats to our national security. Fundamentalists.

There is only ONE Islam and the Islamic way of life and ours do not mix. Islam does not separate Mosque and state and Muslims should not be allowed to run for office here. Would we of allowed Nazis to run for office here, during WW2?
Muslim Congresman Ellison is the perfect example of why Muslms should not be voted for.
He is supporter of CAIR, a pro-Hamas, pro-Shari group. Not all religions are the same, as Islam is religion and politics mixed.

Well we have Lieberman in the Senate who seems to be totally Zionist. I'd include him in your exclusionary clause - as well as any raging Fundamentalist Christians in our congress who support Zionism.

These too are threats to national security, I'm sorry to say.

"We havn't fully accepted the notion that all religions should have equal access to the Oval Office?"
Don't lecture us with this "we" Americans just Suck (still) horse crap!
That remains to be seen in this election and when (if ) Obama blows it, it won't be about his faith! There are too many issues of great import to our future! And there are people who can blow it for him! Like Biden! Like Hillary or the other Clinton.
WE HAVE FULLY ACCEPTED THE NOTION THAT anyone running for this high office is going to get ground by the two party system!
Americans don't need the lecture from the AMERICANS SUCK FIRST crowd. we know what we are doing. We are a great people and this is a fantastic country!
We DO NOT want to see a return to the conditions which permited a Willy horton or a bill ayers on a bombing rampage! And if a black moslem can help us, bring him out!?
    Where is he?
    Why isn't he running?
