By the way, the large majority of millionnaires who becomes rich either inherit it or you steal it!! only a very small minority does!
STOP ALWAYS BLAMING THE POOR, THEY ARE NOT THE PROBLEM, THE RICH ARE!!
A good question Michael Bloomberg asked: What do you think will happens when 10% of the world population will hold all the wealth and 90% of the rest is poor??? The rich won't survive very long. I garranty!

Well I am one of the rich who made it myself on my own and I regret this great country is SLIPPING so far and so fast. Everybody has those opportunities. It often means YEARS AND YEARS of sacrifice, hard work and for most of the time for almost NO PAYBACK. That's what it takes. If you can make this sacrifice then in this country you can be rich. If you are too lazy then you'll never make it and the rich are tired of carrying your lazy selves.

Very clever equivocating, Mr. Cose, "What if he were a Muslim", rather than "What if he is a Muslim", you cleverly avoided the real question, but you surely can't believe he would have been successful in his campaign if he was a Muslim. His later Christian conversion notwithstanding, it seems obvious he was a Muslim in his youth, how much of that has he retained? I think religion is nonsense now but I remember all the lessons and prayers learned in my youth, who is to know I won't revert to those long ago lessons and prayers if my mind demands it in some situation? Islam is harsh, the lessons and prayers he learned were part of his education, I could be a slacker, it's unlikely that would have worked for him.

No Regrets for a Love Of Explosives; In a Memoir of Sorts, a War Protester Talks of Life With the Weathermen
    By DINITIA SMITH
    Published: September 11, 2001

'"I don't regret setting bombs,'" Bill Ayers said. '"I feel we didn't do enough.'" Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970's as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago. The long curly locks in his Wanted poster are shorn, though he wears earrings. He still has tattooed on his neck the rainbow-and-lightning Weathermen logo that appeared on letters taking responsibility for bombings. And he still has the ebullient, ingratiating manner, the apparently intense interest in other people, that made him a charismatic figure in the radical student movement.

HUSSEIN...YOU HAVE BEEN LYING ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP, WITH THIS TRASH......TELL THE TRUTH......We feel YOU haven't done enough.....

The Muslim religion/way of life is a threat to all Christians & non-Christians alike. Anyone that does not bow down to their God/Allah will be destroyed.

Surah 8:12 Remember the lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you. Give firmness to the believers. I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. Smite ye above their necks and smite all their fingertips off them. (Interpreter Abdullah Yusuf Ali's footnote to the violent passage makes not mistake about the means. He explains: "The vulnerable parts of an armed man are above the neck. A blow on the neck, face, or head finishes him off.")

Surah 47:4 Therefore when ye meet the unbelievers (in fight) smite at their necks. (The footnote explains: "When once the fight (Jihad) is entered upon, carry it out with the utmost vigor, and strike home your blows at the most vital points ('smite at their necks'), both literally and figuratively. (you cannot wage war with kid-gloves.")

This two passages tells it all. There are many other passages that express the same. This is a fight against evil itself. " in dealing with non-Muslims, lying and deceit is permissible" under the Islamic doctrine of tagiya.

We must stand and fight against this insanity!

Malta, and remember the Bible, also, says "Be not decived, for God will not be mocked". We are taught that Jesus is the ONLY name recognized in Heaven by which one can call on to be forgiven. He and He alone is the link between humans and God. Adam and Eve broke the bond, but Jesus repaired it, therefore it is through him that we are able to reach God. It is written that No one comes to the Father except through Jesus. I sometimes feel that it may not be so much that God needs us, as it is that we need him, but he wants us and loves us, and has proved that by his ultinmate gift of his son to us. And Jesus' williness to allow himself to become the sacraficed lamb for us is the greatest gift one could ever give, and those who, graciously, accept that gift is forever free even if he is in a prison. O.K. I'm finished, off the soapbox and onto the ballot box! :)

star reality check, the bible is only true in th eyes who choose it to be true. Answer me this, The Sinai Bible is the oldest know bible yet there is a "'staggering 14,800 differences from today's Bible and yet it still remains the word of God?"

        • Posted By: star3 @ 08/26/2008 1:28:10 AM

Wander, I believe in the Holy Bible, and will not argue, because its pointless. Truth does not change because one doesn't believe it; God will not disappear because someone doesn't believe in him; do you believe in air? Why? Have you ever seen air, or the wind? You believe and accept that air and wind are real, because you feel the effects of them---O.K., so can one feel the effects of God, and we can even see him in everything around us. You just have to look with your spirtual eyes instead of your physical eyes. I heard a joke about how a man told God that we didn't need him anymore because we could now create life ourself just as he did so God said "Show me." The man reached down to pick up some dirt to begin to create, when God said "Uh, uh uh,---Get your OWN dirt."

          • Posted By: wanderlust @ 08/26/2008 2:39:23 AM

Asking you a question is not arguing but I can see thats how you avoid the question. Why you afraid to answer the question? while you come up with some look over here at the wind to avoid, try this on.. why did the First Council of Nicaea have to vote what gods words are, or you a Cafeteria Christian

            • Posted By: star3 @ 08/26/2008 6:19:23 PM

Wander, I do not know who wrote the Sini Bible, but I do know who wrote the Holy Bible. I do not feel qualified to answer concerning that Bible, as a person needs to be very careful what they attribute to being the word of God, but I do know that The Bible I am familiar with says that if anyone should add to, or take away from this book, then they will be accountable. Therefore, I do not attempt to judge what or why of things I am not familiar with. That is God's job. I can not be accountable for what went on thousands of years ago, or who wrote what or when or why, I can only be accountable for myself in the here and now. And I can not be accountable for what you believe or think, they are your own interpetations. If you choose to turn anything I say into an argument or twist it to mean what you have decided I meant, then that is strickly between you and God. I will not defend nor explain my statements, and you can read anything you want into them. I have not claimed to be all knowing or an expert on scriptures, but I am, at least familiar with enough of them to speak only of what I am sure of instead of going off on a tangent about something I have only read, but have not checked the factual truth of it. The physical requires proof, the spirtual accepts on faith. Enjoy your day!

90% of prisoners are Christian, America has the highest prison rate in th world, maybe the Christians need to clean house before they point the finger at other religions.

    • Posted By: star3 @ 08/25/2008 2:39:47 AM

Wanderlust, don't know where you got that 90% figure, unless you just pulled it out of the air, because I do not believe for a minute that is an accurate figure. When one finds themselves in prison, they usually do claim to have "found Jesus", and I'm not going to discuss that issue, as its strickly between them & God, but to an atheist I would say that if you are so egotistical that you do not accept that there is a higher power than yourself, then may I watch while you create a universe in six days, and when you've done that, then I may be sufficently impressed to listen to anything else you have to say.

      • Posted By: wanderlust @ 08/25/2008 4:25:07 PM

oh star your hole comment is very laughable "Bureau of Justice Prison Statistics" has the numbers go look it up and the 90% is before some prisoners convert, so again your wrong . No Im not a Atheist so wrong.. AGAIN and shows you don't even follow your own bible words "without sin cast the first stone" haha how typical of you. the only ego is yours KID-O. thank you for the demonstration in Christian values lol

as i mustusing their god as shield. i question your faith

        • Posted By: star3 @ 08/25/2008 7:51:15 PM

Wander, I did not call you an atheist---that is something you assumed; I only said that is what I would say to an atheist. And there you go, stating an obvious oxymoron, when you say I am not being a christian because I am judging people, and YOU are attempting to judge me. How very typical of your kind, and how nobel of you to point out the faults of others, while you sit on your self-imposed pedestal. Better get use to being knocked off it if you insist on such a self-righteous attitude. And, sweetie, next time you read a post, try not to read between lines that aren't there.

oh my your funny. whats my kind? the only pedestal is the one your on, SORRY for knocked you off with facts. Prove me wrong on the 90% I see you cant refute the so called numbers i pulled out of thin air LOL
You must be sufficiently impressed with me creating the Universe in 6 days, here you are talking with me another demonstration your words are empty and meaningless. you really need to learn what oxymoron means lol

            • Posted By: star3 @ 08/26/2008 2:24:54 AM

Wander, the only thing I am impressed with is your ability to type while sitting on your brain, but that would explain the idiotic comments, since your one brain cell is so squashed. As for proving anything, i don't have to, since I know I am right; common sense says that if one were really a Christian, they would not commit an act that would land them in prison, so that takes care of your 90% theory. I don't doubt a bit that you read that figure someplace, but perhaps its time yo upgrade your comic books. People write all kind of things, which are not, always, true. Do you, also, believe the cow REALLY jumped over the moon. Just because one CLAIMS to be a Christian does not make them one, especially if they commit crimes they are in jail for. I'm not doubting there are Christians in prison, but not the percentage you quote. There are, also, people who claim that they did not commit the crime, that it was their "other personality". My response to that is tough, both personalities share one body, so both will share the same prison cell. If they are scheduled to be executed, and try to prevent it by saying they have become a Christian, then I would congratulate them, and tell them that will work well for you in the NEXT world, but in THIS one, you're going to be executed for your crime. And BTW, Wander, get yourself a dictionary and learn to spell---in your first post to me, i fail to believe your saying your "hole" comment is blah blah blah..., I fail to believe that is a typo. I believe you meant "whole", but then again...I have to consider the source...tah, tah, I'm off to sit back on my pedestal to watch the peasants toil away.

              • Posted By: wanderlust @ 08/26/2008 3:17:39 AM

wow another demonstration from a loving Christian, attacks only show your tue colors, im sure your god is very proud of you Cafeteria Christianity. 90% is Not my theory BUT facts from Bureau of Justice Prison Statistics but why believe them, we should just believe star3 because in your own words "since I know I am right" self-righteous much?.. i love when a Christian points at other Christians claiming they are not Christian. Once again you prove nothing except you don't follow what you preach, that makes you hypocrite or in your mind its a "obvious oxymoron" LOL... your sad self-righteousness fails..AGAIN

                • Posted By: star3 @ 08/26/2008 5:58:57 PM

LOL! Wander, you are sooo cute when you try to twist things around to fit your own beliefs. It was you who placed the perfectionist lable on me, but you have to admit, I do wear it well, don't I? Why don't we both just admit that neither of us is ever going to convince the other of anything, and move on. I will conceed that perhaps you did read that about 90% of prisoners are Christians in a legitimate form, but it might have been worded better if it had stated that 90% of all prisoners CLAIM to be christians, which of course they would. As for your accusation that I am a hypocrit---that word has been wayyy over used to describe anyone with whom we disagree. And as to your charge that I don't practice what I preach---well, now, I really don't need to, do I, since I am already perfect? Have a good day, Wander. :)

We have fully accepted that all religions should have equal access to the oval office???!!! Like hell we have!! America is based on freedom of religion, but that does not mean we want a Muslim or an atheist as our president. It simply means we will not prevent anyone who is a legal citizen of America from practicing the religion of their choice, or no religion at all if they choose, but America is, primarily, based on Christian values, and that is how we want it to remain. While, other religions are free to be what ever they want, they do not have the right to uproot everything America has always stood for. Does anyone really believe that an Islamic president, who clearly believes that anyone not of that faith is an infidel not to be tolerated on the same planet as they, do you honestly feel in your heart that they would be a fair and un-biased leader? Do upi feel an atheist would allow church services of any faith to be continued? Christians do allow others to be who they are, as long as they do not betray our country, or become a threat to the rest of the population. None of us walk on water, I have only known of one that could; try it somtime; its an amazingly humbling experience. Really causes one to appreciate the frailties of being human. Unless we elect Jesus Christ, we are never going to have a perfect president, and last I heard, he wasn't on the ballot, so we work with what we've got. It boggles my mind that just a short few years ago, our country was attacked by Islamic terrorist, and now people are, actually, considering electing a president who may have Islamic ties. Am i the only one who sees the irony in this? What will we allow next---a communist president? I have listened to all the debates for and against Senator Obama, and I do not feel he is fully prepared to be president at this point in time, however, if the majority of the voters decide he is who they want, then I will respect that, and be supportive, and give him an opportunity to prove himself. I believe in the American people and I hope when they go to the ballot box, they will all base their vote on an honest belief in the candidate, and not on biased opinions that have no validity. God bless us all, and God help us all.

um you forgot you can't have freedom of religion unless first have freedom from it.. i know that hard to understand when you come from a bible thumping back ground but try

Wander, I have never thumped a Bible in my life, but I have read a few. I have a suggestion for you: try walking on water sometime, its an amazingly humbling experience, helps one appreciate the frailties of being human. But then, you may not know much about that, since you are probably still waiting for the mother ship to come take you back to your planet.

star3 this quote is laughable :

''To use one's ethnic or culture as an argument is invalid. The only thing we are concerned with is his politics, his plans for the country, and as long as he does not allow his personal ethnic beliefs to dictate how he carries out his responsibilities, we have no problem. Thats how most of us feel''

Most of you feel that change from bipartisan, war-mongering, and politics controlled by lobbyists should continue, is that it? When you say most of us, what are your representation? 1/3, 1/4 or 3/4 of United States? Ha... tell me another story. I need to tell you that the politics that we have been used to for eight years can be very intoxicating to the extent that it robs us rational thinking. So when someone offers the possibilty of REAL change we cannot believe it.

    • Posted By: star3 @ 08/26/2008 5:38:33 PM

Zealot, your name says it all. When I sadi "We", I am referring to anyone who is capable of thinking for themselves, which you, obviously can not. Don't come spewing your liberal views in my direction, unlike you, I have more intelligence than to allow the brain washing methods used by your type to influence me. In all honesty, I pity the liberals for they really have no more sense than to actually believe they can control what someone else thinks or how they will live their life. Liberals are still trying to live the Hippie dream instead of the American dream, and what they need to understand is that, like the dinosaur era, the hippie era is extinct, but, unfortunately, we can't use the hippies to make fossil fuel.

The fear of Obama possibly being a Muslim is no different than the hatemongering that conservatives have been polluting this country with since justifiing the near extermination of Native Americans centuries ago!! These guys wouldn't know the truth if it shot them between the eyes!! These people are simply filled with hate and fear!! Liberals, Moderates, and the Apathetic on this or any other blog should stop arguing with conservatives (the little 'c' is on purpose), because they would rather remain blind with their own lies!! What's the point of telling the truth to those who do not want to see it?? Just tell the truth, and ignore the liars!!

Ok forget his race and that he may have been raised a Muslim.

The richest top 5% pay HALF the taxes in America and top 10% income earners pay 2/3 !

Since Obama won't even help his poor brother George in Kenya who lives on $1 a day WHY should the rich in America who already pay 10 to 100 TIMES our fair share and we pay YOUR fair share too, why should we pay even 1 cent more?

If we want to end poverty in the US we should have income based birth licenses. Poverty could be drastically WIPED out in 20 to 30 years if the poor have 1 baby MAX and if you want 2 or more YOU better have the income to take care of your kids! Simple solutions that does NOT make the hard working intelligent people in this country pay for the poor's lack of education, lack of common sense, lack of RESPONSIBILITY! Crime would over time go WAY down also and all the millions in jail would shrink in half. All that wasted money would go into the economy and EVERYBODY would be doing better!

Simple. The richest 10% earn more than 2/3 of the nations income. Also, since the richest 10% own all the biggest and most valuable real estate lots in the country, they should be paying the most taxes to pay for the military and police that protect their homes and their businesses and their wealth. Its the same reason why a Rolls owner pays more for car insurance than someone driving a used Corolla.

All you folks quaking in your boots about Obama raising taxes on the rich should remember something. There's a lot more people less well off. And a great majority of the country sees it as headed in the wrong direction. Time for a change! If you don't like it, you can go move to your vacation home in the Caymans.

Reading the hogwash in the majority of these posts is comical. You folks claim to be Christians yet its odd that some of you can't sift through the garbage that the media is pumping through your brains. Christians and Muslims are brothers. Some of you should sift through the Bible and compare it with the Quran. Obama hit it right on the head when he stated "folks aren't reading their Bibles." Jesus did not stand for hate, discrimination and prejudice but rather he stood for the peace, love, and humility. For an individual to blame an entire religion for the desparate acts of a few people is ridiculous. There is terrorism being perpetrated by folks who claim to be Christians but it would be extremely ignorant to call all Christians are terrorists. Do you believe Jesus was a Christian? Did he worship himself? NO. Therefore he was not a Christian. Jesus preached about one God and loving him with all your mind heart and soul. How many times in the Bible does it say that Jesus and the other prophets fell on his face and prayed? Who prays like that? Muslims. There is no way that one could say strapping a bomb to yourself and killing innocents is acceptable much in the same way that you can't say the imperialistic murder adventures by Christian countries is legit. Stop judging people by the religion their religion because their are quality individuals of all faiths.....I'll leave you with this quote from the prophet Jesus...."Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

      • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 08/25/2008 4:07:19 PM

I pray for all of the Muslim community...pray for them to be freed from the enslavement brought on by worship in the cult of death. Islam and Christianity are not brothers. They are in no way related. Islam is a perversion of Judaism. Christianity is a branch of Judaism. Yes...Abraham was the father of Issac and Ishmael. HOWEVER...the promise was given to Issac...NOT Ishmael. To teach otherwise is a perversion. The children of Ishmael became a GREAT people. That was all destroyed, by introduction of Islam, which is the spawn of a Fallen Angel and a pedophile warrior. It is HELLS greatest achievment.

Islam believes wrong. Remember, Jesus led, he did not shove. Islam shoves, Christians lead. Christians do not kill in the name of Jesus, or force anyone to accept their beliefs or die. Islam kills and forces all in the name of Allah. No, I do not believe all Muslims are bad, just as I do not believe all who claim to be Christian are good. We are all humans, with minds of our own, so although we may have those who attempt to change us, they can NEVER stop us from our thoughts; we may do as they say because of fear, but they can not kill what we, secretly think & feel inside.

Nice try Bonehead. Jesus Christ was not a prophet....He was GOD in the flesh. He stood for peace, but was willing to fight for his name....remember when he tore up the temple, driving out the money changers. Our Gods are not the same god. Sorry, but Ra was the Egyptian sun god, they didn't have a god named "alah" until after the time of Mohammed. But do I have a shocker for you. If you go back to the original Aramaic of what Jesus said on the Cross, he called out to Allah and asked why had Allah forsaken him. Hmm, there is a closer connection between Christianity and Islam and Judaism than any of them want to admit.

Aluminum hat wearing, paranoid conspiracists aside, nobody really believes Obama is a Muslim. I attribute most of the 12% of the Pew poll who responded that he was Muslim to political motivations rather than ignorance. If a pollster called me and asked if I thought GW Bush were Satan I would respond in the affirmative, however I don't actually believe he is a fallen angel who appeared as a serpent to poor old Eve.

A more telling question would be to ask if you thought Obama is a Christian. Despite the fact that he drags his family to church on Sunday I absolutely believe he's no more Christian than the Dalai Lama. Does he respect Christianity? Sure. Is he a moral man? Absolutely. Is he Christian? Puhhleeease! He's a liberal from Harvard for cryin' out loud. He goes to church because it's a job requirement. There is absolutlely no way a non-christian can be elected in America. Psuedo-Christians (read non-protestant) maybe, but you can forget about a Hindu, Muslim, Budhist or Sikh ever being elected president. Jewish? Sorry; no chance. Way too much anti-semitism in the land of the free. Nope. It's Christian or nothin. We tolerate diversity in America, but we're sure not going to promote it!

So what is Obama if not a true believer in the one and only savior, Christ our lord? I think he's an intelligent, modern man. He believes there is probably a God or Universal Power, but realizes it is beyond human capacity to know or understand It. I suspect he realizes that all religions, including the one he is supposedly an adherent to, are false simply because they attempt to describe the indescribable.

It's a sad fact in America that in order to rise to the highest levels of public office you MUST be a Protestant or a liar. Protestants make up about 40% of the American population. Why is it that they make up 99% of congress? Who in their right mind believes in the piety of our nation's politicians? Nobody. What does that tell us? That America's voters are by and large NOT in their right mind. Any thinking man can see that a politician's religion is as often as not nothing a sham, yet we Americans continue to insist that the charade be performed before we'll elect a candidate to office. We don't really care what religion someone belives in, but we DO care, very deeply, what religion they SAY they believe in. Well guess what? Obama says he's a Christian. Done deal. He's met our standard. Let's move on.

Saltydog, I like your style, and you are probably correct in your acessment of the American public, however, in all fairness to the people of this country, they are in fear of too much change, especially if they view it as negative change, which to some, it will appear to be. I am not much different, and am suspicious of anyone's motives who promises me something for nothing. The public isn't stupid, but some politicians behave as though they are speaking to children who need to be taught what is good for them. That is a mistake, to talk down to people, is to lose them immediately. I agree that many people who, actually, believe themselves to be Christians---and I'm not saying they aren't---but their idea of being a Christian is going to church every Sunday or whichever day they go, reciting prayers, ect., and thats all well and good, but I heard a comment several years ago that impressed me, it was this: "Some people are too busy practicing their religion to be a Christian." There is truth in that. Anyway, just wanted to say I agree with you, and, as a Christian, I will be praying that the right choice is made in November.

How about you pray that the next study on praying proves it works..

Wander, prayer does work, I prayed for an idiot to enlighten, and along came YOU! Just yanking you around, Wander, so no offense. You left yourself open for that, and my horns came to the surface, and I couldn't resist; guess you could say the devil made me do it. I know you will have an excellent response to this, so don't disappoint me. :)

"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion"

Treaty of Tripoli signed by President John Adams on June 10, 1797. unanimously approved by Senate june 7. Funny how Christian love to forget American history

Funny how you ignor the facts....

      Translation controversy

Miller's Investigation and NotesThe translation of the Treaty of Tripoli by Barlow has been found faulty, and there is doubt whether Article 11 corresponds to anything of the same purport in the Arabic version.[17]

In 1931 Hunter Miller completed a commission by the United States government to analyze United States's treaties and to explain how they function and what they mean in terms of the United States's legal position in relationship with the rest of the world.[18] According to Hunter Miller's notes, "the Barlow translation is at best a poor attempt at a paraphrase or summary of the sense of the Arabic" and "Article 11... does not exist at all."[19]

After comparing the United States's version by Barlow with the Arabic and even the Italian version, Miller continues by claiming that:

The Arabic text which is between Articles 10 and 12 is in form a letter, crude and flamboyant and withal quite unimportant, from the Dey of Algiers to the Pasha of Tripoli. How that script came to be written and to be regarded, as in the Barlow translation, as Article 11 of the treaty as there written, is a mystery and seemingly must remain so. Nothing in the diplomatic correspondence of the time throws any light whatever on the point.[19]

From this, Miller concludes: "A further and perhaps equal mystery is the fact that since 1797 the Barlow translation has been trustfully and universally accepted as the just equivalent of the Arabic... yet evidence of the erroneous character of the Barlow translation has been in the archives of the Department of State since perhaps 1800 or thereabouts..."[

Well it would seem that the Supreme Court who would know the law of the land didn't regard the treaty when they declared unanimously that this is a Christian nation.....

The treaty of Tripoli is no longer binding to the United States..... since there was a war declared by Congress afterwards.... notice that we weren't at war when Jefferson was fighting the pirates in Tripoli.... after war is declared all treaties are voided.... and the treat of 1805 with Tripoli is in effect and doesn't say that an Islamic country bent on establishing what religios beliefs american should have....

It is funny that most people who support the Treaty of Tripoli indirectly support the indoctrination of Islamic extremist who were fighting a terroristic conflict with the United States at that time....theri whole goal was a jihad and declare to the world that Islam is the supreme religion... the problem with the second treaty is that in a way the establish their superiority by making the United States pay tribute..... I suggest you read up on Tripoli and the Barbary Wars.... It is no wonder that you support Barack Obama and the demo(n)crats who see Islam as a peaceful religion....

Funny how you don't post this.... http://www.vftonline.org/TestOath/HolyTrinityOp1-2.htm

      THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT
      HOLY TRINITY CHURCH v. U.S.
      143 U.S. 457, 12 S.Ct. 511, 36 L.Ed. 226
      Feb. 29, 1892

If we pass beyond these matters to a view of American life, as expressed by its laws, its business, its customs, and its society, we find everywhere a clear recognition of the same truth. Among other matters note the following: The form of oath universally prevailing, concluding with an appeal to the Almighty; the custom of opening sessions of all deliberative bodies and most conventions with prayer; the prefatory words of all wills, "In the name of God, amen;" the laws respecting the observance of the Sabbath, with the general cessation of all secular business, and the closing of courts, legislatures, and other similar public assemblies on that day; the churches and church organizations which abound in every city, town, and hamlet; the multitude of charitable organizations existing everywhere under Christian auspices; the gigantic missionary associations, with general support, and aiming to establish Christian missions in every quarter of the globe. These and many other matters which might be noticed, add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation. In the face of all these, shall it be believed that a congress of the United States intended to make it a misdemeanor for a church of this country to contract for the services of a Christian minister residing in another nation?

Here is the bottom line. The right wing has nothing to stand on this year. No legitimate issues at all. There candidate is on the wrong said of every relevant dilemma facing the country so what we get is a barrage of stupid accusations, conspiracy theories, and unimaginative character assassination. This is what it has come to! McCain wants to keep us in perpetual war, privatize social security and education, and overturn roe vs. wade.

just check how many muslims were killed in the last 20 years by nonmuslims, and how it dwarfs the number of nonmuslims killed by muslims. you will see who has problems with who.
