Comment: "Not all Democrats agree with Mr. Frank that such policies are off-limits to criticism. Last week Rep. Artur Davis of Alabama said in a statement: 'Like a lot of my Democratic colleagues I was too slow to appreciate the recklessness of Fannie and Freddie. I defended their efforts to encourage affordable homeownership, when in retrospect, I should have heeded the concerns raised by their regulator in 2004. Frankly, I wish my Democratic colleagues would admit when it comes to Fannie and Freddie, we were wrong.'
"Mr. Davis is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus."
'Rank snobbery'
Camille Paglia, who supports Sen. Barack Obama, has nothing but scorn for the way the media has treated Sarah Palin.
"The mountain of rubbish poured out about Palin over the past month would rival Everest. What a disgrace for our jabbering army of liberal journalists and commentators, too many of whom behaved like snippy jackasses," Miss Paglia writes at www.salon.com.
"The bourgeois conventionalism and rank snobbery of these alleged humanitarians stank up the place. As for Palin's brutally edited interviews with Charlie Gibson and that viper, Katie Couric, don't we all know that the best bits ended up on the cutting-room floor? Something has gone seriously wrong with Democratic ideology, which seems to have become a candied set of holier-than-thou bromides attached like tutti-frutti to a quivering green Jell-O mold of adolescent sentimentality."
Comment: The Antichrist!:
When George Soros failed to obtain the election of his candidate, John Kerry, in 2004, he brooded for a while, even said he might get out of politics altogether, but he just couldn???t stop himself. He has stated publicly that he wishes to burst the ???bubble of American supremacy,??? because he says our preeminence in the world is a detriment to global ???equilibrium.??? So far, he has failed, but he keeps on trying.
And Mr. Soros has made no secret either of the fact that he sees the shortest way to effect political shake-ups, what he terms ???regime changes,??? is through very difficult economic conditions.
America has not yet felt the full force of Soros style economic shock treatment. But others have.
Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically in comparative worth almost overnight.
When the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 threatened to spread globally, George Soros was right in the thick of it. Soros was accused by the Malaysian Prime Minister of causing the collapse with his monetary machinations, and he was branded in Thailand as an ???economic war criminal??? who ???sucks the blood from the people.??? Right in the middle of this crisis, Soros dashed off his book, The Crisis of Global Capitalism, which demanded a ???third way??? toward economic stability.
Wake up, America, before it is too late!!!!

Comment: In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future. I follow a economist named bob proctor who has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly. He perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown ,and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years Is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression. Banks in the US are going under one after the other. Country wide the largest morgage bank in the world Bear Stearns and Lehman brothers , and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 wall street firms. And now Fanny and Freddy which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States. The goverment took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. If they didn't the entire financially system would virtually shut down, the stock market would crash And we would suffer beyond what any of us have seen before The future of these companies will fall into the hands of our next president
Bush just like Mcain doesn't understand the economy.
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it
He does not understand exactly what is broken. Its no surprise that he doesnt. The people that make up these
securities use complex math models very few people understand.
Bush and mccain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks take risks with all of our future.
Now Phil Graham is the head of mccains economic policy ,and mccain wants to make him the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time bush met with his economic advisors was in march. He either didnt realize or didnt care that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy in our lifetime.
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as bush has done mccain would be
incredibly worse because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like bush did but a tanking economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 deficit. Most of Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will do get what you have always __________
When it comes to policy bush and mccain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
The chairman of mcains campaign recently said that people don't vote on issues
they vote on a personality composite which means. He is trying to sell you personality instead of results.
He believes people will vote against there own self interests.
Lets teach him we are smarter then that .
Hold them accountable now while it will still help

Comment: Dems choose Obama in thunderous acclamation
Yahoo News by David Espo, AP Special Correspondent Wed Aug 27, 7:18 PM ET
Clinton's call for Obama to be approved by acclamation ??? midway through the traditional roll call of the states ??? was the culmination of a painstaking agreement worked out between the two camps to present a unified front.
My commentary:
So, democrats, in order to portray a false unification, schemed to allow politics to trump the democratic process.
And they are insulted when people don???t refer to them as the democrat(ic) party!
Yes, the truth is offensive to the democrat party!
Comment: ABC Reporter Arrested in Denver Taking Pictures
of Senators, Big Donors
Asa Eslocker Was Investigating the Role of Lobbyists and Top Donors
at the Convention ABC News by Brian Ross Aug. 27, 2008
DENVER--Police in Denver arrested an ABC News producer today as he and a camera crew were attempting to take pictures on a public sidewalk of Democratic Senators and VIP donors leaving a private meeting at the Brown Palace Hotel.
Police on the scene refused to tell ABC lawyers the charges against the producer, Asa Eslocker, who works with the ABC News investigative unit.
A cigar-smoking Denver police sergeant, accompanied by a team of five other officers, first put his hands on Eslocker's neck, then twisted the producers arm behind him to put on handcuffs.
A police official later told lawyers for ABC News that Eslocker is being charged with trespass, interference, and failure to follow a lawful order. He also said the arrest followed a signed complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel.
Eslocker was put in handcuffs and loaded in the back of a police van which headed for a nearby police station.
Video taken at the scene shows a man, wearing the uniform of a Boulder County sheriff, ordering Eslocker off the sidewalk in front of the hotel, to the side of the entrance.
The sheriff's officer is seen telling Eslocker the sidewalk is owned by the hotel. Later he is seen pushing Eslocker off the sidewalk into oncoming traffic, forcing him to the other side of the street.
It was two hours later when Denver police arrived to place Eslocker under arrest, apparently based on a complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel, a central location for Democratic officials.
Eslocker and his ABC News colleagues are spending the week investigating the role of corporate lobbyists and wealthy donors at the convention for a series of Money Trail reports on ABC World News with Charles Gibson.

Comment: Tuesday August 25, 2008: A new 527 Group, Manchurian Exposed, released a new ad today detailing accusations that John McCain was brainwashed by the North Vietnamese Communists while he was a prisoner of war and that he is literally a deep, programmed mole ready to be triggered and used by the communists. It is indicated that several of our soldiers who became prisoners of war were put through the conditioning program that left them as puppets waiting to be activated and controlled at a later date. The soldiers themselves were left unaware of the conditioning and can be activated with preprogrammed deep mental keys that are initiated by a controller. The communists were just waiting for an opportunity that would serve their purposes and John McCain now presents that opportunity. There is also evidence that those behind this program have also been active with the George W Bush administration and exerted significant influence there. While George W Bush was not brainwashed, because of his sociopathic personality that is without any conscience and is totally self-focused it was not necessary as he was easy to control using motivations appealing to his ego and self-focus. Scott McClellan???s book WHAT HAPPENED supported this when referring to the numerous long and frequent private meetings between George W Bush and Dick Cheney, his controller, and then in relating to President Bush???s discipline at self deception (Scotts words) which allowed him to perform the frequent subterfuge. It seems Dick Cheney was the liaison between the outside organization and the Bush administration providing the direction and control and that there also has been a great deal of corporate involvement motivated by the financial return made available to them. John McCains progress to being the nominee for the Republican Party was orchestrated by these same people. ???.
Dont believe all of that? I dont blame you because it is just a lot of made up crap much like all of the garbage that is being put out about Barack Obama. Obama is no more a terrorist than McCain is a communist agent! Ayers, Reszo (sp.), Rev. Wright, etc have no more influence over Obama than Keating has over McCain, in fact in contrast Obama wasn???t even investigated! Obama is no more a Muslim than McCain is a communist! And while McCain has some admitted moral failures, they are both happy family men! The point is to not be taken in by all of the dirty politics and to recognize the BS aimed to just manipulate public opinion. If we can stick to objectively and rationally considering only the real issues and to comparing the candidates actual positions, that should be enough. When it sounds like garbage it probably is and then you can be sure they are trying to steal your mind and vote!

Comment: Republicans Spread Message of Democrats??? Disunity
The Hill by Sam Youngman Aug. 25, 2008
DENVER ??? Republicans have infiltrated the Democratic National Convention as they seek to exploit and widen the divisions between supporters of presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama and his former primary rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) has set up shop in downtown Denver, and a number of high-profile Republican surrogates are making the media rounds at the Democrats' convention. They???re pushing the idea ??? disputed by Obama (Ill.) and Clinton (N.Y.) aides ??? that the Democratic Party is badly divided and Republican Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) is poised to peel off Clinton supporters.
The Republicans are breaking somewhat with tradition, launching a much larger presence at their opponents' weeklong party than in the past. While rapid-response teams from both parties are generally dispatched to the opposing party's conventions, this year Republicans are being much more aggressive.
Alex Conant, the RNC press secretary, said Monday that he doesn't think this year's effort is more aggressive than the one in 2004, but he said that the accommodations this year are more convenient and more "media ready."
The RNC has two-dozen staffers on the ground in Denver, Conant said, and they will have at least one high-profile McCain surrogate in town every day of the convention. Victory 2008 Chairwoman Carly Fiorina was in town Monday, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will be in town Tuesday, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty on Thursday. Pawlenty and Romney are considered finalists to be McCain's running mate, and Giuliani is the keynote speaker at next week's Republican convention.
At the heart of the GOP's efforts is a Democratic convention that still has an 800-pound gorilla of a question ??? party unity. Republicans continue to point to a poll last week that showed only 52 percent of Clinton supporters lining up behind Obama, with 21 percent saying they will support McCain.
And CNN released a poll Monday that showed 66 percent of Clinton supporters are now backing Obama. That's down from 75 percent in the end of June. And 27 percent of her supporters now say they'll support McCain, up from 16 percent in late June.
"We didn't create all the disunity in the Democratic Party," Conant said. "I think Barack Obama did. We'll do all we can to shed light on it with the goal of reaching out to Hillary Clinton supporters."
Conant added that all the Clinton supporters in the convention hall "are not the product of the RNC."
Because of the Republican offensive, senior advisers to Obama and Clinton were furiously trying to extinguish constant reports of party unrest Monday morning before the convention had even officially begun.
Comment: And now for an open letter to America's Left Wing:
Dear Liberal America,
The right has put up an experienced man with a lengthy resume. You don't have to like him or agree with him, but his experience is obvious and undeniable.
Just because the left thinks McCain is a weak candidate, that should not be seen as a green light to run with a man that has no experience at all. It's not about race, but I can't help but think if Obama was white and had a less exotic name he wouldn't have a prayer of a chance of getting looked at by either side.
A president needs some form of executive experience... period. Three years in the senate is not enough. Go to a grocery store and find out if the manager of the place had only 3 years experience when he made it to management.... probably not. If Obama can't run a grocery store, he has no business running the free world.
Thanks, but no thanks.
Your Pal,
Floridave
Comment: floridav:
"but I can't help but think if Obama was white and had a less exotic name he wouldn't have a prayer of a chance of getting looked at by either side."
Who cares about race or name or the fact that the white guiltists want to make a grand statement by having barry accept on the anniversary of Rev MLK's speech. Just exchange the sex of Clinton and Obama and look at the resumes. Who would be standing on that stage and who would have been laughed out of Iowa?
Comment: Dear Conservative: Length of experience is not enough by itself. The positions taken by the candidates indicates that the one with less experience has better judgment and is more apt to address the problems we face, especially since he understands that we desperately need change and the much older candidate wants to continue with more of the same.
p.s. Be careful about advocating the need for more experience as the pride and joy of the Republican Party was just a movie actor most of his life.
Comment: Just an actor? Do you know ANYthing about Ronald Reagan? He spent more time running the Screen actors guild than Obama has spent in the senate. Then two terms as the governor of California. He also lost two presidential bids (one in the 60's, another in the 70's) because America didn't think THAT was enough experience. He didn't win until 1980.
Still think Obama has enough background for this job?
Comment: Senior Dems Concerned Over McCain Gains
The Hill by Alexander Bolton Aug. 25, 2008
DENVER ??? Senior Democratic politicians are signaling concern about Sen. Barack Obama???s (Ill.) slip in the polls and are urging him to regain his edge against GOP rival Sen. John McCain (Ariz.).
Rep. John Dingell (Mich.), the longest-serving House Democrat, said Obama must realize the primary season is behind him and Republicans will ???run a very rough campaign against him.???
Dingell???s critique comes in the wake of polls showing that McCain has gained ground on Obama since the Democratic senator left the campaign trail for a family vacation in Hawaii. A CNN poll released Monday showed McCain and Obama in a dead heat.
???The campaign has not yet taken off,??? said Dingell in a telephone interview. ???He???s got to address things that go into a presidential campaign as opposed to a primary campaign. They???re very different campaigns.???
Even Obama???s allies, including Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the co-chairman of Obama???s campaign, acknowledge McCain has gained ground. Durbin said Obama???s absence from the news cycle during his Hawaii vacation, combined with Russia???s invasion of Georgia, gave McCain a chance to dominate the race over the last 10 days.
???We realize over the last week or 10 days that John McCain has had a 12-0 run in this basketball game,??? said Durbin, who hastened to add: ???We know the momentum can shift.
???My observation is, and I talked a little bit about it with Barack after [his] tour overseas with dramatic positive results, that we expected an evening of the playing field,??? he said.
Dingell said Obama can regain momentum if he addresses substantive issues such as a withdrawal of American troops from Iraq, rebuilding of the nation???s roads and infrastructure, and the lack of health insurance for an estimated 47 million Americans, including 1 million in Michigan.
Dingell???s words carry weight because of his seniority in the House and his knowledge of Michigan politics. The AFL-CIO, an important ally of the Democratic Party, has identified Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania as the three most important battleground states of the campaign.
Durbin said Obama???s family vacation was ???well-deserved,??? but blamed Russia???s invasion of Georgia for focused media attention on McCain???s national security credentials. McCain is a former prisoner of war and senior Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
???All those things came together in a moment giving McCain the field ??? I mean, a stronger position than he might have otherwise have had,??? Durbin said.
Comment: If Obama doesn't regain at least half of the lead he has pissed away in the last 6 weeks, he is toast. The convention should help, but I doubt it. Too bad, he had some potential. Is Dukakis busy right now?
Comment: ALTER--It is the economy, stupid. So why are they making President Clinton talk about Barry?
Comment: JONNY ALTERED REALITY:
I just saw you on ABRAMS talking about "Hillary" supporters. You dont have a clue. None of you do. Sen Clinton supporters arent angry because its supposed to be her party. Hillary people arent having a second wave of bad feeling about barry. why do the numbers keep increasing? its the first wave being joined by others including once barrybots.
THEY FEEL IT WAS TAKEN FROM HER AND THEY DESERVED IT. THEYRE VERY BITTER. you bots sure love this word dont you? every time you say it it harkens back to barrys ragging about the votes who can see right through his fraud. so carry on about the bitter feminazis. Youve talked to them jonny? why now? theyve been talking to you in every one of your articles and you didnt listen then. they thought it would be the funnest part of their summer? do you know how utterly ridiculous that is? it goes well beyond that and the more you continue to dis her Sen/Mr Clinton the more that number will go up like it has. For all your supposed knowledge you seem to forgotten that Mr Bill is the only dem whos won since '80. Not even Gore could win without Mr Bill campaigning--DONNA BRAZILE being the political genius she isnt.
Youre even more clueless when you started talking about VP. Yes Sen Clinton should have been vetted. Stop your crap about UNCONFIRMED reports that Sen Clinton didnt want to be vetted. Thats a lie and you know it. Your integrity--whatever you may have once possessed is COMPLETELY GONE. Clinton supporters knew that she wouldnt be caught dead on barrys ticket. She knows hes a fraud and he knows it too. It was clear once barry gave caroline kennedy the job and then pissed on when he hired solis doyle. get a grip. Sen Clinton supporters arent mesmerized cult members. They see whats going on and how the MSM/DNC has orchestrated barrys nomination.
funny thing is with all the help from the MSM/DNC barrys tied with McCain.
THIS SHOWS YOUR ABSOLUTE IDIOCY: You said they met at PELOSIs house. They met at SEN DIANE FEINSTEINs. You call yourself a journalist? ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC.
Then you go on to say that barry didnt dis her all based on UNCONFIRMED REPORTS THAT ONLY NOW CAME TO LIGHT after SEN CLINTON supporters spoke out. Utter BS. had that truly been the case barry would have released the info immediately.
Heres a clue: ITS NOT UP TO SEN CLINTON TO GET HER SUPPORTERS TO VOTE FOR BARRY. SHES DOING ALL SHE CAN AND HAS BEEN CAMPAIGNING FOR HIM--SOMETHING NO OTHER RUNNER UP HAS DONE BEFORE THE CONVENTION. Ted Kennedy? STOP SAYING SHES DOING IT HALF-HEARTEDLY AS IT IS PISSING OFF EVEN MORE PEOPLE. ITS BARRYS JOB AND BARRYS ALONE AND HE HASNT TRIED IN THE LEAST. HE HAS GONE OUT OF HIS WAY TO ALIENATE HER SUPPORTERS--EXHIBIT A: SOLIS DOYLE.
Keep it up jonny. YOU ALONE ARE A BIG REASON CLINTON SUPPORTERS ARENT COMING AROUND. IF YOU WANT TO FULFILL YOUR 2006 PROPHECY YOU BETTER SHUT UP OR GET A CLUE.
Comment: DISCLOSURE: (Something you might try jonny)
I am not a Clinton/McCain voter. I am interested only in exposing the pro-obama MSM bias.
Comment: I second. Alter doesn't care what his readers think and I don't for a minute believe he talked to any Clinton supporters. He is the most in the tank for barry. And as long as they all keep calling her "Hillary" they aren't going to be won over and Barry will be Barry.
Comment: Therefore you are a Clinton/McCain voter attempting to take votes away from Obama by proxy-smear.
Comment: can't you read?
Comment: Wow, this reads as bad as what the Bush haters say about him. Talk about bitter. Sheesh!
Comment: But we especially mention Alter???s eight-year-old column because of that passage from his new piece. ???Al Gore never actually said, ???I invented the Internet,?????? Alter writes this week???eight years after he wrote the column which threw that claim into an unholy stew about Gore???s ???fibbing??? and ???lying.??? It was easy to be a Republican then, with people like Alter playing that game. Sorry, but Republicans didn???t have to ???play the game with genius, courage, creativity,??? as Kinsley pretends. They just had to peddle their bull-roar???and then watch the Alters recite.

Comment: Obama camp downplays Clinton backers at convention
MyWay by Darlene Superville Aug 25, 2008
DENVER (AP) - Barack Obama's campaign dismissed concerns about the impact of die-hard supporters of Hillary Rodham Clinton on the choreographed show of unity Democrats were opening Monday at their nominating convention.
Opening night at the Pepsi Center, the main venue for the four-day Democratic National Convention, aimed to tell the Illinois senator's personal story to the millions of voters nationwide who will begin tuning in to the presidential campaign. Obama's wife, Michelle, was the evening's keynote speaker.
An emotional highlight was expected to come with a video tribute to Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. The liberal stalwart was diagnosed in May with a malignant brain tumor and has had surgery and a six-week course of chemotherapy and radiation.
Behind the scenes, however, polls showing significant Clinton support still being denied to Obama and pro-Clinton demonstrations at offsite venues were creating a different kind of anticipation. Clinton has backed Obama and was scheduled to speak Tuesday night.
"There are a lot of delegates here who had passionate choices in an extended primary season," Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs told "Today" on NBC. "We feel confidant that if we can demonstrate a record of change, a record of vision ... a team of Barack Obama and Joe Biden can convince Democrats, Republicans and independents to support a ticket of change in November."
Republican candidate John McCain tried to widen any schism remaining between primary-season rivals with a TV ad featuring a Clinton supporter who now backs McCain over Obama.
"She had the experience and judgment to be president," says Debra Bartoshevich, identified by the McCain campaign as a former Clinton delegate. Of McCain, she says: "I respect his maverick and independent streak, and now he's the one with the experience and judgment. A lot of Democrats will vote McCain. It's OK, really!"
Comment: They haven't even taken into account the Sen Clinton supporters who are going to write her in on the ballot.
Comment: Poll for White House Tied
by Paul Steinhauser CNN Deputy Political Director
DENVER, Colorado (CNN) -- It's a dead heat in the race for the White House.
The first national poll conducted after Barack Obama publicly named Joe Biden as his running mate suggests that the battle for the presidency between the Illinois senator and John McCain is all tied up.
In a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Sunday night, 47 percent of those questioned are backing Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominees, with an equal amount supporting his Republican opponent, McCain.
"This looks like a step backward for Obama, who had a 51 to 44 percent advantage last month," said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "Even last week, just before his choice of Joe Biden as his running mate became known, most polls tended to show Obama with a single-digit advantage over McCain."
So what's the difference now?
It may be supporters of Hillary Clinton, who still would prefer the New York senator and former first lady as the Democratic Party's presidential nominee.
Sixty-six percent of Clinton supporters -- registered Democrats who want Clinton as the nominee -- are now backing Obama. That's down from 75 percent in the end of June. Twenty-seven percent of them now say they'll support McCain, up from 16 percent in late June.
"The number of Clinton Democrats who say they would vote for McCain has gone up 11 points since June, enough to account for most, although not all, of the support McCain has gained in that time," Holland said
Comment: Gore's "I invented the internet" quote was so taken out of context that you could have used it to claim that he murdered Jimmy Hoffa or kidnapped the Lindberg baby. Gore said "I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system. Too bad the MSM were the only news outlets at that time. The myth of his quote would have been debunked before it really became a phony issue.
Comment: It would have been better if McCain had said "I am a Bushman from Australia."
Comment: What difference does it make Mr. Alter. As long as we don't have the chance to vote for that horrid woman that you and your fellow journalists destroyed with your sexism, your personal bias, it's win-win for you. I write with disgust as a long time democrat who has no party any more; who has no fourth estate to go to for truth and protection of democracy.
Nothing will change no matter who is elected because the system is gamed. The men like you and your peers have kept us out. Enjoy what you have created.
Comment: the Primary is forever illegitimate. negotiations took place behind closed doors. period. what if the positions were reversed? would the MSM be saying barry isnt trying hard enough? laughable. would barry get a complete roll call? would he have been asked to give up his delegates? would he have been told for months to get out already? would his black voters be called bitter and racist and ragged at to just get over it? would barry be blamed for their protesting? would barry have been forced and publicly bashed for not "conceeding" on the night of his last primary? would he have been told that Sen Clinton won even though he got the most votes cast for him? would he have been expected to campaign for him before he became the nominee? and when he did would the MSM be coming straight out and challenging his efforts? would he have been forced to suspend his campaign before the convention? and the MSM wonders why Clinton supporters are angry? all they have to do is interchange the names and see what would happen. this is a complete and utter fraud--as is barry. the American people will not have nominated barry. the DNC/super delegates will be coronating him. barry has the MSM/DNC campaigning for him and trying to destroy the Clintons in the same breath and barrys tied with bush 3. why? it's not the Sen Clinton bitter estrogen-filled feminazis. its the longtime (meaning most likely to vote) democrats who have watched barry the fraud and the MSM/DNC totally disrespect President Cllinton and his legacy.
Comment: If it's not the angry or BITTER (the only word the botlets can come up with) Clinton supporters, it's because people are racists. It can't possibly be because he's a fraud and real people can spot a fraud. Did you hear Barry try out Sen Clinton's speech. He said I will get up every morning and work for you. Even Barry couldn't pull that off. He gets up in the morning thinking about how to inflate his ego. Period.
Comment: Sean actually makes some sense here. The media is always looking for that ???sticky??? moment to either catapult or sink a politician. We as Americans need to do our own research and figure out which candidate is best for us. The numbers are what they are???.just numbers and are not an accurate depiction of who Americans will REALLY vote for.
Here???s a hypothetical question: You are in a voting both, the ballot outlines the policies of Candidate 1 & Candidate 2. No mention of age, race, color, party affiliation or wealth. Who would you vote for? Probably the one that has your best interest in mind???Right? So why can???t we just close our eyes and take this approach with this upcoming election???
We as Americans need to vote for the best candidate to lead this country back to prominence and take care of home first. Regardless of their race, creed or color.
Comment: Sean actually makes some sense here. The media is always looking for that ???sticky??? moment to either catapult or sink a politician. Comment: What you outline is an absolute impossibility.
Comment: It was not owning seven houses, it was his senior moment of not remembering how many, that mattered. It is scary to think of such a forgetful doddering senior citizen sitting at that Oval Office desk, trying to remember all the thousands of details, dates, and names that come to him from all over the world on a daily basis. There will be no more little crib sheets and teleprompters to help him.
Comment: It wasn't that he didn't remember, it was a trick question, obviously a plant, and he was smart to mention the condos (which are neither houses nor homes) and then simply say, "I'll get back to you" rather than ask for clarification of a question which really is not relevant to the election.
Most senators have multiple residences as a necessity for serving their constituents.
Comment: WHY IS IT A SURPRISE THAT ROUGHLY 30% OF HILLARY'S VOTERS IS GOING WITH McCAIN?
This should not be a surprise. Exit polls taken after numerous democratic primaries showed 10%-to-20% of those voting for Hillary, said they would never vote for a Black man as POTUS. These are not my words. These are the responses given to exit pollers as they queried voters exiting the polls. It is only logical that if 15% of her voters freely acknowledged Obama's race as the reason they voted for Hillary, then you can safely assume a matching 15% felt the same but did not publicly admit it. In addition, 10%-to-30% of Hillary's voters were primarily GOP crossover voters and Reagan Democrats, that acknowledge to polling people that they were planning to vote GOP in November no matter what.
With these two facts unhidden and publicly available, why is it a surprise that nearly 30% of Hillary's voters are supporting McCain? Duh?
With 20%-to-30% of Hillary's voters acknowledging during the primary they never planned to vote Democratic in November's General Elections, is it not disingenuous for Hillary to claim she has 18-million cracks in the ceiling. Really? With 20%-to-30% never planning to vote for Hillary in November? Is it really 18-million "sincere Hillary supporters", or is 18-million minus 3.6-million crossover voters causing havoc in the democratic primary?
Comment: You may want to peruse through those polls again and report them factually. You may also want to read the polling results that showed more Americans were uncomfortable with a woman as president than a black man. So nice try.
Comment: QUOTE THE POLLS.
Comment: Wrong on the cross over voters for Hillary, it was Obama who was wooing the republicans back in 2007, getting them to change their registrations so they could vote to defeat HRC. No surprise that they returned to the republican fold since Obama only asked them to be democrats for a day.
I'm going to be a republican for a day, because I won't vote for a man who admits using cocaine for years.
Comment: Actually it was Rush Limbaugh who invited people to become democrats for a day to vote for the weaker candidate, Hillary Clinton.

Comment: We don't want no socialism, why spend money to improve life in America. That's anti-American. America stands for war, killing, murder, torture, or all the rest. Or does it? Ripple in clear water. Who's to guide you? Sick of my taxes going for war, death, torture. Sick to death of it. That's all that Bush, McCain, and all the rest of them promise. Go Obama go.
Comment: Obama is an expert in murder, ask him about his IL legislature and his position on late term infants born alive after abortion and voting to prevent them getting "healthcare" so the die. In my understanding of the law that is infanticide. Women who deliver their babies and put them in trash cans or dumpsters alive are charged with attempted murder or if the baby dies murder. What is the difference? According to Obama it is simply the fact that he doesn't want to burden the abortionist that screwed up the procedure in the first place.
Comment: She succintly says what I think:
"BAIPA isn't really about protecting infants; it is anti-abortion rights legislation crafted by the hard right. BAIPA targets the abortion procedure known as dilation and extraction, which anti-choicers have so successfully re-branded as "partial birth abortion." Dilation and extraction accounts for less than one-fifth of one percent of all American abortions, and is used most often to end wanted pregnancies in which expectant parents learn their baby will not be viable outside of the womb. During the operation, the fetus' skull is capsized inside of the woman, after which labor is induced and she delivers the fetus. It is a wrenching process, but one that allows a woman or couple to grieve and bring closure to a pregnancy by holding the intact fetus. It also decreases scarring, bleeding, and pain inside of a woman's uterus and vagina.
The antis want to redefine these fetuses as "born alive" and require that doctors provide "resuscitation." As a state senator, Obama saw BAIPA for what it was: an ideologically-motivated ploy to vilify women and doctors who choose abortion. On the state Senate floor on April 4, 2002, he explained, "This issue ultimately is about abortion and not live births. Because if there are children being born alive, I, at least, have confidence that a doctor who is in that room is going to make sure that they're looked after."
Of course, the idea that otherwise viable babies are regularly "born alive" during abortions is an invention of the anti-choice movement. Ninety percent of abortions are performed within the first 16 weeks of pregnancy through a procedure called aspiration, in which a surgical vacuum is used to empty out a woman's uterus. The second most common abortion procedure is dilation and evacuation, which takes place in rare cases after 16 weeks of pregnancy, often when a woman's health or life is at risk. Under that procedure, the aspiration process is sometimes preceded by an injection into the abdomen that ensures fetal demise."
http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/blog/2008/03/25/when-obama-voted-no
So the only abortion procedure that could ever result in an intact fetus outside the uterus is the extremely rare dilation and extraction. The fact that just a few doctors perform just a handful of these procedures in the United States annually hasn't stopped the anti-choice movement from creating an entire lexicon, imagery, and legislative strategy around the symbol of these aborted fetuses.

Obama has lambasted lobbyists and moneyed interests who "have turned our government into a game only they can afford to play."
"It's an entire culture in Washington -- some of it legal, some of it not," the Democratic hopeful told a New York crowd in June. But last year Obama introduced nine separate bills exempting foreign chemical company Nufarm from import fees on a range of chemical ingredients it uses in the manufacture of pesticides and herbicides.
Nufarm wasn't the only beneficiary of Obama's efforts to reduce customs fees and duties. In early May of 2006, two Washington lobbyists registered to work on behalf of Astellas Pharma, a Japanese-owned drug company which also has offices in Illinois.
Together, Obama's obscure measures -- known as tariff suspensions -- steered more than $12 million away from federal coffers, according to government estimates.
While legal, Obama's bills on behalf of Nufarm and other companies are part of the special treatment machine Washington rolls out for special interests, say good-government watchdogs. With a dozen tariff suspension bills to his name, Obama stands out as the most prolific of any presidential hopeful on the topic. Sen. John McCain introduced none.
"If you have a company...there's a whole factory set up to help you get these suspensions," said Steve Ellis, president of the Washington, D.C.-based watchdog group Taxpayers for Common Sense. "It's a pay-to-play system you have to rev up and work." Hire the right lobbyist, pay the right fee, and you can save millions, he explained.
Some say the tariff suspension process isn't how Washington should operate.
In his speeches, Sen. Obama seems to agree: "We need a president who sees government not as a tool to enrich well-connected friends and high-priced lobbyists, but as the defender of fairness and opportunity for every American," the candidate said in his June speech. "That's the kind of president I intend to be."
But his actions speak louder than his words.
Junker defended tariff suspensions as good for American businesses. "It's nothing to be embarrassed, ashamed or suspicious of," he said.
justifying the breaks for Nufarm to import a chemical known as 2,4 D and other ingredients by claiming they would "eliminate these unnecessary and avoidable...costs to [Nufarm's] consumers."
But the company's financial reports, issued just two months after Obama introduced Nufarm's numerous tariff-lifting bills, indicate Nurarm was making more money than ever before in North America because it had increased its prices on its U.S. and Canadian customers, predominantly farmers, in particular on "phenoxy herbicides," a family which includes 2,4 D.
Economics aside, some medical researchers have purported to find a link between high exposure to the chemical and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a type of cancer.

Comment: ...good one, McCain Nation (i.e. Machination)
The "crafty scheme or cunning design for the accomplishment of a sinister end" is the overturn of Roe v. Wade with the help of the disgruntled Clinton supporters.
Comment: McCain won't be able to do anything without democratic approval in congress. It's basic checks and balances.
A lot less scary than a socialist with a democratic rubber stamp.
Comment: McCain Nation (i.e. Machination)
As a former military officer, Senator McCain should never condone the maligning of another colleagues' reputation. The specious and malicious book written about Senator Obama is indefensible.
The dictionary defines "machination" as... "A crafty scheme or cunning design for the accomplishment of a sinister end."
To write a book titled "McCain Nation" detailing Senator McCain's sinister desire to become President of the United States so that he can strike militarily against all of America's "perceived" enemies would be completely and wholly fallacious and unacceptable.
...but then again...maybe it would be fair play!
Comment: It is the economy, and more specifically taxes.
If Obama doesn't counter the "hes going to raise your tax's ad very strongly and very soon, that one ad could cost him dearly.
The fact is some 30 to 40 % of voters will go to the polls only vaguely aware of the candidates party affiliation and everything they know about the candidates is what they remember from the last ad they saw.
While this may sound very pessimistic and it is. At the same time you have to keep in mind some 30 % of Americans still think Iraq had something to do with the twin towers.
That is the result of and evidence of the effectiveness of the Republican propaganda machine.
Another is the support Bush has as a result of his tax cuts, and a guy making $40,000 is totally oblivious to the fact his tax rate is exactly the same as it was in 1999 his tax reduction was ZERO and he still will blindly support Bush, "because he lowered our tax's"
Hate to say this but about 40 % of voters are not smart enough to pour piss out of a boot.
The fact is even a person making minimum wage will vote against any thought of have higher tax's even if it doesn't affect him..
Comment: If the reduction in taxes on interest, dividends and capital gains expires, then all retirees will be paying more in taxes. Is that fair?
Comment: Democrats are trying to do away with secret balloting on union elections. The democrats also defeated an amendment that would have allowed employees to put themselves on a "do not call" list to avoid union pressure to sign a card.

Comment: Obama Misspeaks, Calls Biden 'The Next President'; Biden Calls Obama 'Barack America'
August 23, 2008
ABC News' Sara Just reports: Journalists who were awake until the wee hours waiting for confirmation that Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., was indeed Barack Obama's running mate, cannot be blamed if their hearing is a little fuzzy today.
But after today's Obama-Biden speeches to a massive crowd in Springfield, Ill., many reporters are rolling back the tape and asking each other, "Did he really say that?"
When introducing his running mate, Obama said, "So let me introduce to you the next president - the next vice president of the US of America, Joe Biden."
And then when it was Biden's turn to speak, the Delaware senator called the presumptive Democratic nominee "Barack America" instead of Barack Obama.
"My friends, I don't have to tell you, this election year the choice is clear. One man stands ready to deliver change we desperately need. A man I???m proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next president of the United States, Barack America,??? Biden said, per ABC News' Sunlen Miller.

Comment: And they said McCain is senile? Biden must be just as senile.
And Obama...well he just had a little JUNIOR moment.
Comment: The reason McCain's comment is fair game and may "stick" in voters' minds is that he didn't give a reasonable answer to a simple question. He could have said something like, "We spend most of our time at our Washington condo and our Sedona ranch. My wife has several other properties, which are mainly for investment purposes."
For most of us, our home occupies a great deal of our mental and physical energy, from thinking about how we will pay the mortgage, taxes and insurance to keeping up basic maintenance and wondering whether the property is going down in value. For someone to be so oblivious to these important concerns of ordinary people that he doesn't even know whether he has one house or eight houses is to be seriously out of touch. A few years ago in Detroit McCain was asked what kind of car he drove and he didn't know that either. Again, he said lamely that he would have to consult his staff.
Comment: McCain is becoming senile, that why he has Lieberman to help keep him out of traffic and other trouble.
Maybe McCain should be asked how many houses 150,000 Iraq war vets own, the answer is easier, it's Zero,
We have 150,000 homeless vets in America, and McCain opposed the GI bill but now trys to take credit for it.
I used to have some respect for McCain but the more I see of him the more I think he's a slime ball, and I hate a liar, senile or not.
Comment: "Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses?"
Obama is the unnamed "political candidate" referred to in a section of the document that accuses Rezko of orchestrating a scheme in which a firm hired to handle state teacher pension investments first had to pay $250,000 in "sham" finder's fees. From that money, $10,000 was donated to Obama's successful run for the Senate in the name of a Rezko business associate, according to the court filing and the source.
Rezko, who was part of Obama's senatorial finance committee, also is accused of directing "at least one other individual" to donate money to Obama and then reimbursing that individual -- in possible violation of federal election law.
Obama donated more than $44,000 in Rezko-linked contributions to charity last year, including the $10,000 donation mentioned in the court filing.
That money was donated to Obama by Joseph Aramanda, a Glenview businessman and Rezko associate who, sources have said, is the ???Individual D??? prosecutors say received the $250,000 in finder???s fees demanded by Rezko. Individual D did nothing to earn those fees, according to prosecutors.
The $10,000 contribution to Obama was given in Aramanda???s name on March 5, 2004, records show. While Obama???s camp has said the senator did not know Aramanda, Obama???s office hired Aramanda???s son as an intern in 2005, at Rezko???s urging.

Comment: A reasonable question? Most senators have more than one residence - their "house" where their wives and under 21 children live, the apartment/condo in the state capitol or business center where they spend time with constituents, and the place they stay when Congress is in session. What makes it a question that specific reporter was interested in?
It was a set-up. It appears that he only owns one "house" which was what the person asked. He was smart enough to figure out that it was a trick question.
The Dems had the ad all ready to run and only wanted some video of McCain. It didn't matter what he answered.
If he had answered as you suggest, you can bet they would have lambasted him for being "evasive" or trying to hide how many "houses&quo
