What Will The Neighbors Think?

I don't care about Obama's race, so how about nominating a black man who has more than a blank sheet resume and Marxist tedancies? Talk about ridiculous, I'm not voting for the most liberal senator who also has no clue what it means to be an American. I don't have a problem voting for a black man, but no way in heloo am I voting for THAT black man.

The point of the article is that SOME PEOPLE OPENLY ADMIT THAT THEY WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA BECAUSE HE IS BLACK. If that is not racist, I don't know what it. It is also a safe assumption that an even higher percentage would not vote for him, but will not tell that to a pollster. It's not saying that all whites are racist. It's saying that if Obama loses the election, that it will be in part due to people that would never vote for anyone black. And nibbles2008...there are African Americans...Americans with African ancestry.

A sign and symptom of OUR nation's historical decline would be the , oh God, election of Obama. It's absolutely NUTS to support a person who is so unqualified and hates the U.S. so much. It's NOT about race. I would glady support J.D. Watts or Condie Rice for President. These are two people who really know what's going on, and LOVE THEIR COUNTRY> Obama's CHANGE seems to say..."To COMPLETE AMERICA we ALL MUST be UNDERachievers." The Bigger the Government, THE LESS FREEDOM for all of us. And Obama's Marxist/Fascist ideas do not sit at all well with my idea of what America should be. I don't care what color a person is, Socialism, Marxism and Fascism are NOT the way to go.

Mr. Weisberg - YOU SIR, are a bigot. Where were you when Rwanda was happening? Did you save even one of these people. For that matter where were the Jesses and the rest of the Black- They could not care less. If they did care they would work to clean up the Congo, Zimbwabwe, Sudan and the rest. Until YOU do something about it, don't come and lecture us about bigotry.

I guarantee you one thing you must be a graduate of one of the elitist schools that does not allow the ROTC to come in. Wait till you need the national guard to come in for a riot or the levy fail. you will be point your tiny little finger blaming them what a poor job they did.

I totally agree with Mr. Weisberg. White people are afraid of a Black man running this country because they are afraid they will no longer have the white priviliges they are use to receiving. White people believe this is their country and no one else since they took it from the Indians, used the Black man to build it and they sat back and devised ways to run it and keep other minorities down. They will not give up the right to control this country to a Black man or any other minority. It has gotten so bad that 33 pastors got in the pulpits over the weekend and told their congregations to vote for McCain. Now I'd say that's running scared.

Mr. Weisberg, why are you writing for Newsweek? Why are you bleeding your ???white guilt??? onto us? Obama is where he is because he IS black. Oprah supported him because he IS black. I wonder if Oprah would support him if he was white or if she would support Clinton because she???s a woman? I wonder if Oprah and others asked themselves these questions? Obama is not the "perfect opportunity" as you claim because he lacks experience. He might seem motivating, but that's just hot air! He gathers up the crowd but when it came down to it, he did not deliver. This isn???t a popularity contest, this is my country and the only ???selfish??? one here is you because you rather make history than do what???s right by voting for the most qualified. If you were looking for a Financial Advisor, would you give it a young, inexperienced Obama with lots of ideas, or would you give it to that old man with lots of experience and wealth to match?
Obama is tied with McCain because Clinton voters (or more appropriately, women voters) are truly the ones crushed beneath the "myth", beneath societies??? glass ceiling. Clinton's lost epitomizes our society's sexual discrimination because society would rather have an inexperienced man as President than an experienced, proven, tested and devoted female. I???ve witnessed this happen in my own life. Of course, talking about sexual discrimination only marks us as whining, angry you know what; and if we are opposed to Barack, we're prejudice on top of that. Give me a break.
If Collin Powel ran for President, I would vote for him in a heartbeat over McCain, Obama, Clinton, or anyone else. Collin Powel exemplifies leadership. Obama is nowhere near. I've never trusted John Edwards, and look what has surfaced about him. Biden gives me the same creeps and Obama isn't far behind because he???s an opportunist. I think they are all politicians, but I truly believe that Hillary and McCain will do what's in their hearts. They are not perfect and they might not share my opinions, but they are more true to their beliefs than the other politicians.

John McCain was a POW... So was the two young ladies that where captured when the war first started. Does that make them an expert in foreign affairs, This world wind is affecting white america, black america, and the whole melting pot. People would rather continue to struggle and barley make it in this world than vote for a black man that has a better plan than the one we have now. When clinton left office, we had a surplus, look at what we have now! a trillion dollar deficit and kids dying everyday. If we are going to fight this war that should not have been. Send some of these life long criminals and gang bangers over there to fight and earn their keep, instead of sending 18yr old boys who just graduated from high school. they won't do that because prison's are money makers. I love this country but we do things totally backwards and people wonder why westerner's don't like us. Well it's time for a change people, if you like struggling vote for McCain, if you want change vote for Obama.

I think you've missed the point, Mr. Weisberg. Write the same article from the perspective of the black voter. For whom is he or she voting, and why? Answer: Obama, because he's black. That's the wrong reason to vote for anyone.

As for the worst part of our history, I'm really sick of 12% of the population holding such huge sway over American life. There are constant "reminders" that my ancestors were slave owners. Perhaps you include yourself in that category. My great grandfather fought to end slavery, but no one, black or white, has ever offered to thank him and the other hundreds of thousands of white men who laid their lives on the line to set the black man free. And, by the way, I've never owned a slave, and neither did my father, my grandfather, or my great grandfather. Affimative action has taken this country *way* too far over the "politically correct" limit. Vote for Obama because he's black; I won't, any more than I'd vote for him because he's white.

If you want to stop the racism, quit promoting blacks just because they're black. In fact, drop it entirely. Make an arugment based on whatever merits you think Obama brings to the frey, but don't tell me I'm a racist if I don't vote for him or if I detest rap music.

What a load of crap, although I would expect no less from Mr. Weisberg. Equal opportunity means fair and equal access, regardless of social class, ethnicity, religious preferance, and so on.Mr Weisberg's idea of
equal opportunity means we are all supposed to roll over and vote for a Socialist disaster like Mr. Obama so as not to appear racist. I wondered how long it would take the media and the Obama camp to roll out the race card. As I expected, they didn't disappoint, a true sign of desperation.
