To call any voter who hasn't jumped on the Obama bandwagon a racist is demeaning and unfair. I, for one, refuse to vote for an inexperienced, liberal leaning hack whose calls for "change" do not match his record, slim as it is. Obama favors abortion on demand, is weak on foreign policy and has shown he's so arrogant. WHY would he listen to Biden, anyway? Barack is stuck in his self-made mesiah complex...I just pray the voters wise up before it's too late.

It's funny. I didn't vote for Kerry, or Gore, or Clinton either. But in those elections, my vote wasn't called racist. Now, I am voting Republican again, because I find the Rep. candidate to the (marginally) better of the two candidates. That's my right and decision to make. Nobdoy called me racist for voting my party's candidate in the previous elections.

I'm voting as I always have, since the GOP more closely mirrors my values and wishes for the country. Suddenly, after all these years - I'm a racist?!?!?!?! It sound like you people think we don't even need an election. Isn't that kind of a slight to Obama? Didn't he earn the right to run fair and square? I gave him the respect of considering him for this election. I didn't have a whole lot of options to choose from, but I chose. That's why they call it an election. People can't see beyond color. Those who claim a color blind society are normally the racists. Obama's problem group whether its been women, working class citizens, etc....it returns to older whites who still believe that blacks are inferior. If you said, that blacks only voted for Obama because he's black despite the fact that blacks have overwhelmingsly voted for whites in the past. If you felt that everytime Obama spoke to a black crowd he was pandering because you know, blacks only see the color of his skin like many white voters do. When people talk about him winning because of Affirmative action...The list goes on...We have shown our whiteness in this country. DEAL WITH IT. NEWSWEEK has buried the TONY REZKO story (friend of Obama and convicted felon). They thru it up on their site today and buried it at end of the day. Couldnt find the link to the article so I used Newsweeks search engine which is useless. Then I googled it outside the site and found it. When i pulled up the link, the lead in page shows 3 blogs (the norm) but when I went into the all comments area every blog was wiped out. I dont think that was coincidental.

DOES ANYONE ELSE FEEL LIKE WE ARE LIVING IN THE USSR OR CHINA HERE? The MSM I have lost any respect for. . . they only feed the public what they want them to see and if they are pressed to at least write an article that is controversial about Obama, wham, it is gone within 24 hrs, buried in the site.

What a incisive and apt analysis. s an African American 50 year old man I cant tell you how disheartened I would be by an Obama loss, not because he is Black/biracial but because of your deft analysis of just how inept, for this time in our history, John McCain is. The McCain of 2000 is someone I could see leading this country. This bellicose, Rovian, simpleton who is runing now is scary. I pray our country will elect Obama and Biden because of their competence, leadership and vision not elect John McCain out of fear and prejudice. If we do the latter God help us all.

Comment: I hope race will not be a major factor, but in response to one of your writers, I find it hard to believe McCain will be the better individual for president after eight years of the mess this coutry is in. It truly takes more than being a POW and supporting George Bush's policies to be the best person to be president. Although Obama may not have as many years in Washington as McCain, he is just as ,if not more, intelligent to be president.
