    Say again? This is confusing to her "Some connections are just head-scratchers: in the last three presidential elections, states high in openness and low in conscientiousness gave the Democrat a bigger winning margin than did states low in openness and high in conscientiousness, even after controlling for income, education and race."

    This is what I would expect from Democrats.

      Please disregard my earlier comment. I clicked on the article in Yahoo without noticing the article source. After having to create a login, I found that this was Newsweek. Makes more sense now.

    Could you list the states alpabetically listing categories.? Then show what categories each state ranks high, low, n/a, etc. This is very interesting to me I would like to see a complete list showing the traits of each of the 50 states; Thanks, Pat

    So, is there a practical application for this knowledge? Or is it just another way that the system is trying to box everyone in to some other sub category? This sounds less and less like science and more like pseudo-science. Of course where you grow up is going to have an influence on your personality! It doesn't take a research grant to figure that one out! The real question should be who's using this info and why?
