Comment: It is, in fact, good to know that there have been patriotic, intelligent and sympathetic Americans, SUCH AS THE ABOVE BLOGGER :) who have managed to take, practical observations and apply concise, reasonably accurate and witty summation of the current 'republican candidate' (CAPITALIZATION INTENTIONALLY OMITTED)...

It is truly a joy to know that BLOGGERS such as this person have done such a wonderful job in my absence. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK... Your piece was both obscene and genius, at the same time:) I applaud you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know... Its posts like the above that P!$$3ss so many MC'AINT supporters off but then they realize... that it's the shameful and embarrassing truth...

Dems choose Obama in thunderous acclamation
Yahoo News by David Espo, AP Special Correspondent Wed Aug 27, 7:18 PM ET

Clinton's call for Obama to be approved by acclamation ??? midway through the traditional roll call of the states ??? was the culmination of a painstaking agreement worked out between the two camps to present a unified front.

    My commentary:

So, democrats, in order to portray a false unification, schemed to allow politics to trump the democratic process.

And they are insulted when people don???t refer to them as the democrat(ic) party!

Yes, the truth is offensive to the democrat party!

I thoroughly enjoyed this article,"On His Own" (September 1, 2008), especially the details and photos. But I have to ask, where are the mothers. Are they chopped liver? I have trouble even finding out her name, Ann, and don't see that Kansas grandmother mentioned. The antecdote of Obama lecturing his sister, Maya, on her television habit and his mother that she was working for an agency which bred dependence in the Third World is similar to the story in the Bible of Jesus lecturing his father and mother, "I must be about my father's business." A theis is a wonderful thing; but it shouldn't be used shape an argument without deference to other details. I expect a more detailed account of the mother and grandmother soon?

Well, well, well.....I wonder how many obamamohammeds, have at least, privately admitted........"we supported the WRONG candidate".......Wonder how many Super Delegates are thinking the same thought?

What is President Clinton going to say??? No telling. He has called The False One.....a Chicago Thug......told a group of journalistsabout a scenario, in which American voters choose character and experience OVER issues and charisma......said Hussein did not have enough experience to be POTUS...and this is just in the past few days........oh yeah...I forgot his best comment...."Obama can kiss my ASS". Ya'll did accuse him of Racism you know.

And tomorrow the Toga Party Begins.........gonna be real well received. Hussein channeling Adolph AND Nero. The cult like YES WE CAN. The violence around the event. Well...I'm one Christian that refuses to be fed to the Lions. And I doubt many Jews will feel real assured.

HOW MUCH BUYERS REMORSE IS GOING ON???......boy, this is fun.

No buyer's remorse here, Roller-derby. I could care less if Obama gives any props to Hillary. She's acted like a shrew the entire way.

My only real concern is Biden, whose positions on the War on Drugs and the Iraq War are nearly counter to Obama's. But it's a nod to the center and I understand it, if I don't like it.

I have occasionally experienced some buyer's remorse in terms of the time I've spent reading some of your rants though.

It is the same set up... inexperienced president .. experienced politician VP.. if Cheney had oil base, Biden has credit card company base.. as well as extreme left base. I am sure there are people behind his selection just asBush could n't shake of Cheney even in the second term!!. Just gives you an idea about who is behind Obama's rise!!

As someone who also grew up without a father, I can empathize with Obama's motivations. The drive that has lead him to the doorstep of the most powerful position on earth comes from within, a combination of influences that combine his mother's idealism and his fathers intellectual yearnings. Barak will complete the journey, as his American Dream unfolds.

This must be at least the seventh time that Obama is on the cover of Newsweek. But dedicating half of this edition to Obama with an article that contains fluff and lies is appalling.
The PKI (Indonesian Communist Party) staged a failed coup by kidnapping and killing 6 (six) top generals, but the massacre and ethnic cleansing that followed this coup attempt was executed by military units and Muslim groups. Nearly one million people were slaughtered.
Shame on you for spinning history to pad the resume of your candidate and his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro. You wrote about Soetoro nursing his secrets and troubled by the bloody purge as if he was in danger. As a Muslim, he did not have to fear for his safety.

I keep hearing on the news that Obama's childhood is his big story. I thought CHANGE was the big story.
I think the bigger issue is his policy on abortion and infanticide. Folks, if Obama thinks that babies born alive (after failed abortion) do not deserve to receive medical treatment then how does OBAMA feel about the very elderly? Medically challenged disabled people? These questions need to be asked!

    • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/24/2008 4:51:33 PM

You've completely mischaracterized Obama's position on partial-birth abortion. One abstention on a bill with language that could have criminalized abortion across the board doesn't equal the disgusting things you're saying. Stop claiming that people who aren't for your position are against it.

        • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/27/2008 7:33:55 PM

I've read the article. I will accept that I wasn't fully informed on the matter. The bill I was referring to was an earlier bill that contained this language, not the one being discussed.

However, I absolutely believe you're still mischaracterizing this completely.

          http://www.newsweek.com/id/155560/output/print

          From the article:

"Whether opposing "born alive" legislation is the same as supporting "infanticide," however, is entirely a matter of interpretation. That could be true only for those, such as Obama's 2004 Republican opponent, Alan Keyes, who believe a fetus that doctors give no chance of surviving is an "infant." It is worth noting that Illinois law already provided that physicians must protect the life of a fetus when there is "a reasonable likelihood of sustained survival of the fetus outside the womb, with or without artificial support.""

My sincere and honest guess is that Obama voted against the bill in order to protect doctors who refused to waste hospital resources on a fetus with a temporarily beating heart or muscle movement who had more or less zero chance of long-term survival. Hospitals are overcrowded around the country and this bill would have exposed a lot of innocent doctors to the same kind of judgemental witchhunting you two are going after right now.

Quite honestly, I think you two are disgusting for calling Obama a "babykiller" on this. He opposed the bill because it was unnecessary given the existing language protecting infants with a reasonable chance of survival. It reminds me of the right-wing stance on euthanasia - terminally dying and suffering people who want a chance to die with dignity are accorded so by a compassionate doctor and branded "murderers" as a result. You want to hate. You want to paint a man as a murderer because he doesn't agree that an unviable "infant" of three months with a temporarily beating heart or muscle movement and next to nil chance of survival should be accorded hospital resources that make it harder for doctors to use their best judgement to save as many babies as you can. That's all you want to do. And you care far more about infinestimal, nearly nonexistent chances of a fetus surviving than you do any sort of suffering of those who are already here.

"Infanticide". You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Sh.it. I practically think it's you two who need to be dumped in a hole somewhere.

The article stated that he did.
Please bloggers take a few minutes to research this!
Research Jill Stanek and her testimony.
Obama supports infanticide of viable babies born due to botched late term abortions!
In his own words I heard him say it was "too burdensome" on the mother and the abortionist to call in a doctor for these babies. Obama does not think it is "too burdensome" to the infant who is left to die alone.

Late term born alive babies not partial birth. Both abortions, both are terrible but worse yet is leaving a viable baby in the dirty utility room or pitched in with dirty laundry to linger and die sometimes hours later.
A baby born after 24 weeks and about 500grams is viable if medical is given immediately

Maybe because she isn't talking about Partial Birth Abortion...but the Born Alive Bill.

How about murder of 4000 troops, is that enough to make you sick? You are so hung up about abortion, how about the needless slaughter of people going to war? Where are their rights? How about thou shall not kill for the living? Yes the abortion issue is hot. How about the woman's right to choose? You mean women shouldn't have the right to choose too?

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 08/24/2008 4:13:09 PM

So it's okay to let newborns die because the mother wanted it that way? So any parent can kill their kids anytime because they choose to?
I'm all pro choice too, but there are limits. I disagree with McCain on when a person acquires human right, I believe it's once a baby can survive outside the mother, weather needing medical care or not....apparently that's above Obama's pay grade...so I'm not gonna help give him the promotion. He doesn't have the cajones to come out and say he all pro-choice, then he doesn't deserve my vote.

You can't change the fact that Obama has lied about this issue to try and get votes.
Obama voted to Kill a bill that banned the Killing of innocent babies that survived one attempt on their live...
soldier's have a choice to serve and possibly die in the Military...little babies don't....

        • Posted By: marksgershenson @ 08/24/2008 4:30:26 PM

And what are you going to say if the draft is started again. Did you hear anything that McCain has said. Are you going to be saying that to my child because she is of draft age? She may not have a choice either? What are you going to tell those kids in their face, sorry, you have no choice but you are going to have to kill someone, because of oil? Kind of difficult issue to address when there is no right or wrong.

But with my child not having a choice, that becomes a black and white issue because of some government mandate. So that is okay to make my daughter become a soldier and face the risk of killing someone or being killed.

Let women choose what they want. It is their business, not mine or yours. Abortion is not a black and white issue of government control. But you drafting my daughter, and giving her the right to kill someone is.

Obama is the one advocating more and more troops to Afghanistan and Pakistan. He is the one advocating a civilian corps to rival that of the Army. Have you been paying attention to him?
If your child volunteers are you going to call her a killer too?
Your making wild accusation with no basis in any fact. Where has McCain said he would institute a draft? Please I want a link with quotes otherwise your guilty of Libel.
Please answer me this....is it okay to let a baby die on a table in a hospital? Is it okay if only to protect a doctor from a law suit? My answer is easy...No and No....Obama's answer...."Above my pay grade" and "Yes".

There is no draft now but there are babies who are born alive after failed abortions. Please take the time to read the information on the Born Alive Infants Protection Act and Jill Stanek. Then read the information on Real Clear Politics about Obama lying about it on the forum . three issues. Let's deal with them individually. First off...infanticide is murder and Obama voted to oppose legislation that would prevent infanticide. Second, it's pretty clear he lied about it as recently as last weekend. Three, we have an adult volunteer military and I have not heard anything about drafting anyone from McCain or Petreus.

"I actually think that maybe having an absent father meant also that you have a different relationship with your mother, and because you have to grow up faster, you feel like maybe you have to protect them a little bit more" - Barack Obama

How misogynist can you get? No wonder he is so dismissive of HRC -- he feels women can't do things on their own and need to be protected. Not surprising he called that reporter he didn't know "sweetie" and discounts HRC supporters, believing they will come around whether he makes any real effort to reconcile with HRC or not.

    • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/27/2008 6:40:03 PM

What an utter load of bullshit. I have an absent father and the man is absolutely right, at least when it comes to my personal experience. I'd like to smack you in the face for attributing misogyny to such an honorable quote.

There's no way a child can do his mother's job. What Barack is referring to is the desire to help the family pay the bills, in light of the persistent wage difference between women and men, and the desire to protect the mother in exactly the way the father didn't by leaving his family. And as far as a different relationship goes, the mother has to take on roles of the father that are often extremely difficult for a woman coming at a man's perspective - talking to her son about relationships, sex, and male gender roles.

You ought to be hit hard, in the head, for going after this quote the way you did. And personally, I love women and those strong female politicians - big fan of Barbara Boxer and her commitment and strength - but Hillary isn't it. Her marriage is utterly political, her motives are egotistical, and her oratory frequently hysterical. Her campaign was marked by financial waste and infighting and accusatory jealousy. I know people voting for Obama who would actually reconsider it if Hillary had gotten the VP nod.

The media is sleepwalking through vetting the Democrats in this election. I understand how attractive having a black candidate would be, and so I give a little on these issues, but Lordy, Lordy you are all in love! Check into the background of "community organizers", write some articles on how "community organizing" is a stepping stone to politics, investigate Obama's accomplishments such as they are, ask what his wife really meant when she said "America is a downright mean place", ask why his mother got food stamps on the taxpayers' tab while she pursued an advanced degree, why did his mother ship him to his grandparents, why was he so willing to throw the only constant in his life (his grandmother) under the proverbial bus, etc., etc. Sooner or later these questions will be asked by some journalist - I just hope it's not after we elect an inexperienced community organizer to the office of President.

On the day of the announcement of his selection to be the Democratic nominee for vice-President, Joe Biden was quick to go on attack and use the Bush clone metaphor in describing John McCain. Cloning of course involves copying genes. Issues involving clones, copying and plagiarism seem to be recurrent themes in the life of Joe Biden. It has been reported that Joe Biden withdrew from his 1987 Presidential primary race against George Dukakis and Dick Gephardt due to reports of plagiarism of a speech by Neil Kinnock a former British Labor Party leader. More damaging are reports that during his first year at Syracuse University Law School, Joe Biden lifted five pages of material out of a total fifteen page legal research and writing class memo from a Fordham Law Review article. Joe Biden received a grade of F in the legal research and writing course and had to repeat it the following semester. Copying and mimicking behavior is sometimes said to be the sincerest form of flattery but plagiarism falls into a special category of a backhanded compliment because it implies a disdain for the original author and your audience. Did Joe Biden believe that none of his professors would take the time to look up his citations or have read or be familiar with the Fordham law review article on his topic product liability. Many Catholics would be offended that a fellow Irish Catholic like Joe Biden would use Fordham Law Review an academic product of his own faith to commit plagiarism.

  • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 08/27/2008 8:57:46 AM

Hey Omarr, you are way behind. The question is not about Obama's birth certificate, but about his adoption by his step-father in Indonesia, making him a citizen of Indonesia, at least according to his school records.

Someone commented that adoption doesn't automatically make a persona citizen of another country, well I confess that I am not an authority on that, but there is the question about whether he used an Indonesian passport when he traveled to Pakistan after he graduated, thereby claiming Indonesian citizenship for himself.

Obama needs to cough up his passport, the one stamped with his visa to Pakistan and entry and exit stamps. Was it an Indonesian passport? US citizens were not given visas to enter Pakistan at the time, so I doubt he was using a US passport, but then I could be wrong.

I am in my 50's and still suffer the pain of their addictions and neglect. Thankfully therapy has helped. However, you never quite get over the pain.

Here is a newsflash....all parent betray their kids at some point. You deal with it and move on...or spend 5 years and 50,000 in therapy so you can tell some shrink that you hate your parents...my way is a lot cheaper and more honest.

When you tell me you have, then you and I can have a meaningful conversation. Your betrayal example at best is weak. Sorry guy/gal. You have hit a raw nerve with me that unless you know what physical, mental, abuse is about first hand you can only speculate and imagine.

Mark, it is disgraceful that some people are not fit to raise an animal, much less a child, yet they do nothing to help themselves. Mark, they did, at least, give you life, which is to be treasured, and thankful for. A child is like an un-written book, and everyone in that child's life is responsible for what they write on the pages of a child's mind. Its a huge responsibility, and very over-whelming for some who think they are prepared for parenthood, only to find out they really didn't have a clue to what is involved in raising a human to adulthood so that they become a loving, caring person, and a responsible citizen. Some kids do become all that, to their credit, because they did not allow the past to prevent their having a future. We are not clones of the people who gave birth to us--thankfully--and we can make our own choices concerning our life and how we will live it. They made their choice, good or bad, but it doesn't mean we have to make the same choices. Live YOUR life, Mark--not a repeat of theirs. If you want an examople of one who made it read "A Boy called IT". Even if you have already gotten past your parent's mistakes and made a great life for yourself, I think you will find this book interesting, its a true story. The best to you.

Which candidate will seek dialogue before warfare? We can't FIGHT our way to domination. It didn't work for the Nazis and it didn't work for the Romans and it won't work for us. The world is to vast and interests constantly collide. The candidate who understands this gives us a better chance for us to be secure from domestic menaces - which rape, murder and rob our citizenry 1000% more than foreign terrorists.

Speaking of Nazis...didn't they rise to power in Germany?
Didn't Obama just deliver speeches in Germany?
Didn't Hitler think he was the savior for the people of Germany during its economic hard times?
Don't people call Obama the messiah?
Hitler had the nazis prectice infanticide?
Didn't Obama , while in the IL legislature vote in favor of INFANTICIDE?

        Boy!

Didn't Bush just visit China for the Olympics? China is where the Mongols came from eight hundred years ago! Didn't Genghis Khan kill millions and millions of people? Didn't Genghis Khan see himself as a "war leader"? Doesn't that mean Bush is a huge supporter of the Mongols? Didn't the Mongols kill the women and children of their enemies? Does this mean Bush is a babykiller?

        ...

No, it doesn't. Neither does the fact that Obama took a press tour in Europe make him a Nazi. Guilt by association is *always* a fallacy, but this post is just beyond sanity.

If you travel to Italy to buy designer clothes and eat Neapolitan pizza, obviously you're a supporter of Benito Mussolini and fascism, right? Someone who goes to St. Petersburg to see the wonderful domes on the Church of the Savior undoubtedly supported Lenin's genocidal purge of his political opponents. And it goes without speaking that if you travel to Japan to see the latest in robotics and consumer electronics, you also supported the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Or maybe it just means you like to travel...just maybe, that's all it means...

I'm trying everything I can think of to point out the absolute lunacy of the post above, but I'm not sure any of my examples can point out the absurdity any more than is present in the original idea.
