Hillary Rodham Clinton is simply the BEST, remarkable and can unite people from all sides. Her speech last night was remarkable and had me in tears at one point - very moving and yes I believe she got the response she wanted from America - that she is truly respected and loved, and the DNC should have been hers instead Obama. Yes her revenge was sublte but none the less, her 18 million supporters can see she IS Presidential material and ready & able to lead this country and the world. Unlike Obama. She in truly an inspiration to women everywhere and her speech was so powerful and moving that I don't believe Obama could top it if he tried. America can relate to her, we cannot relate to Obama. It's sad but so true - Obama needs her to win and w/out her he will fizzle into the background. Hillary showed us last night that she is not backing down or quitting - this was her campaign speech for 2012 and this is not the last we have seen of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Hillary is a fighter and I hope all of America will get behind her and support her in the next Presidential election. Hillary is an intelligent, strong woman who can succeed at the job as President of this great country, a qualified woman and it's been too long to wait for a woman to be President - men have ruled for far too long and yet here we are again in 2008 voting for a man. Hillary spoke of women being treated "unequal" to men and it's HIGH time women get the RESPECT we deserve - b/c we are not going back to the "kitchens" of America, we are here to stay. So women, use your voice and speak out, it's your God given right. And God bless Hillary Rodham Clinton.

BEST LESSON IN LIFE IS TELL THE TRUTH, THE REAL TRUTH.

I REALIZE THIS CONTRADICTS CLINTON LOGIC.

I WOULD LOVE HILLARY SUPPORTERS TO TELL THE TRUTH, FOR A CHANGE.

        Disagree 100%.
None of what was said was relevant - at all. Considering it was Ms. Clinton tossing in the kitchen sink when things got tough - by every single media account. Also, how insulting is it to say: I'm one of you - and he isn't?

If you want to re-live the primaries go ahead, but Hillary has urged her supporters to move on.

You can praise Hillary all you want for being a well-spoken and feisty fighter, but she lost the nomination because she ran the worst campaign in history. What does that say about how she would have run our country? At least Barack Obama can efficiently run a campaign without insiders fighting and stabbing each other in the back, and can beat such a "sure-thing" as Hillary Clinton with class. Hillary could have been so great had she kept her calm and not panicked with faulty attack ads.

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 08/27/2008 1:21:27 PM

They both have the same issues. What are you talking about. Instead of unity, here you go again with your it should be Hillary. Like I said, we will have our say in 2012. Lets here you talk about unity then.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 08/27/2008 6:35:22 PM

They just showed a new poll and I hope this is true.
    Obama-52%
    McCain-38%

    • Posted By: sharenews @ 08/27/2008 7:35:45 PM

Maybe the poll quote you heard had to do with who was the most elitist. . . LOL. No, seriously, what poll was that? Heres what I found for todays polls:

      Gallup Poll
      August 27, 2008

      Obama - 45%

      McCain - 44%

      http://www.gallup.com/home.aspx

      * * * * * * * * * * ** *

      Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
      Wednesday, August 27, 2008

      Obama - 44%

      McCain - 44%

      With Leaners:

      Obama - 47%

      McCain - 46%

Don't forget the Electoral Map. Noone seems to mention it anymore.....especially not Hannity and Rove, who used to refer to it everynight......hmmm

Rasmussen reports: 193 Obama vs 183 McC
        -w/ leaners 264 Obama vs 247 McC

RealClearPolitics (average of all polling organizations) reports: 228 Obama vs 185 McC

Just thought I'd throw that in there......especially since the Electoral College determines the winner. This is getting exciting!!!!!!

        • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 08/27/2008 8:22:15 PM

KB...You aren't showing the real picture. Real Clear without toss-up states is this.........

Barack Obama 273 John McCain 265

This is the first time in polling history , that a nominee has dropped after 2 nights of their parties convention. Hussein is in big trouble, and the RNC has only shot across the bow. Next week the shots will be for real.

In addition, after America watches Hussein channel Adolph and Nero, and his glass-eyed groupies do their best Nazi Party style chant of YES WE CAN.......he will drop fairly fast.

The man is a crook and a fraud. And that fact is getting clearer by the day.

          NOBAMA!!!

          • Posted By: Kboogie @ 08/27/2008 8:45:25 PM

Hahaha...good try Holy!! Even w/ RealClear's hypothetical, no-toss up scenario, Obama is still leading.

The important reality is that THERE ARE TOSS-UPS!!! AND, since THERE ARE TOSS-UP STATES in this election, that would be the solid poll.

Keep hope alive, bro. All polling organizations give the real, and the hypothetical. Of course, it soothes you to use the hypothetical.

The polls have been still over the past two weeks. How, exactly, has Obama dropped since the convention began?

            • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/28/2008 3:22:37 AM

It's not worth it, boogie. The more solid the Democratic campaign gets, the more strident and full of utter certitude Roller's rhetoric and spam is going to get, I can almost guarantee it.

He's attempting to project what he's speaking as fact in an attempt to make people more uncertain about Obama's campaign. The idea is to sound as "strong" and solid as possible in order to convince people who are tremulous about it convinced through force of will.

He's doing a pretty good job. I don't think it's working anymore, though. None of it is founded on fact.

              • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/28/2008 3:28:29 AM

Biden was on fire tonight - I didn't catch the Clintons' oratory - but Biden's speech was as inspiring a political speech as I've heard lately.

As far as I can tell the Democratic Convention is utterly rejuvenating the campaign's momentum.

I really think there's something to the notion that the louder you scream, the more I should believe in how well we're doing.

Why limit yourself to the 80's for the racist cultural reference? Go for the full monty. You have a such a wide variety of insensitive and culturally snide choices to choose from...grab some kind of typecasting from Sanford & Son. Or Amos & Andy. Any show that portrayed blacks in an unfair and negative light. Or really do it up and say she ought to be doing an 1850's minstrel show. Grab the blackface paint while you're at it.

Thankfully, Michelle and Barack aren't a bit worried about your quaint superficiality from two decades ago.

(Just in case anyone is not clear, I fully support Obama and Michelle. The above response is meant hopefully to point out how bigoted the original post was - it's just such a charged issue that I don't want anyone to take it the wrong way.)

She's a fraud, too little too late, we know her real feelings about this 'mean country' that sent her to Princeton and Harvard. Her background screams of white hatred and she and he are too scary to ever be anywhere near a position representing our country. If the people of the state of Illinois have any sense, they'll vote him out of office.

    • Posted By: josemarti @ 08/26/2008 11:41:07 AM

The people of the state of Illinois don't have much sense. Look at the who they have saddled themselves with in the last 10 years: Governor Ryan (R) in prison. Governor Blagojevic (D) going to prison if Rezko cops a deal. Senator Barack Citizen of the World Obama (D). Senator Moseley Brown (D) last seen peddling her influence in Angola. Senator Durbin (D). Mayor Richard Daley (D). Need I tell you that in Chicago we are paying the highest taxes in the land and that the murder rate is up 20% this year. and that public schools suck, and that there is a budget crisis, and that corruption is rampant?

Oh my goodness....Michelle is a BLACK angry militant...OBAMA is a DRUG USING CELEBRITY....
..And don't act like half of you haven't touched a drug in your lives, Obama is a real person who has lived a real life, not a saint. Bill Clinton smoked this...had sexual relations....Bush loves Oil...Mccain is stupid and old....

Get with the real issues people, honestly. YOU. MAKE. ME. SICK. Gain some real knowledge on real subjects and then leave comment!

    • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/28/2008 2:37:35 AM

I'll freely admit to trying a couple different street drugs in a phase of experimentation. So did a lot of the people I know. So did more than half the country back in the 60's and 70's. Nobody in our spheres particularly holds it against any of us.

You, however, seem to want to define people in terms of where they've been as opposed to where they're going - a view that's mired in the past and incapable of seeing present reality or future potential.

Personally, I don't respect in the slightest the people I know who demonize anyone who's ever touched a joint in their lives. Some people refuse to take drugs for health reasons, and this I respect highly. The ones I'm a bit contemptous of are the ones who judge drugs, scream moral panic, and condemn universally anyone who's ever touched them, because they don't understand them, fear them, fear the people who do them, and don't have the courage to face up to them or anything about it. These people wish drugs would go away and try to make it so via legislation that fills our prisons without rhyme or reason - and it barely touches any of the real problems.

You think you're making the problem better; you're not. You can't fix the problem until you own up to the reality of it, which is that drug users are not all incorrigible criminals and offenders. They come from all walks of life - some are functional, some are not, some are honorable, some are not. Stockbrokers and homeless people are both doing cocaine tonight - I will promise you that to the bottom of my heart and soul.

No one I know is holding Obama's past drug use against him.

And honestly, if you've ever imbibed alcohol in your life, you have no call to judge. Scientifically, alcohol is as addictive and harmful a drug as anything else out there. Addiction specialists rank it with heroin and cocaine in terms of the difficulty of ending addication and the physical withdrawal. It just happens to be legal and culturally accepted. This isn't really about drug use - it's about judgmentalism and cultural norms. I'll own up to having taken street drugs in the past - will you own up to the fact that alcohol is just as much a drug as anything else?

It hurts doesn't it that you can't really find ANYTHING bad this woman has done like CINDY remember STEALING and being an ADDICT for our first lady is not too cool Or would you call what CINDY has done BS ! She sounded like she was running for Ms America pageant ....."I want to save the whales, the trees, the environment" ect.....PLLLEEASSSE???? It was nothing more than a STAGED appearance and speech....I bet her kids practiced that "Hello Daddy" for two weeks and that cute fake smile....

We ALL know how SHE REALLY FEELS ABOUT AMERICA....and her husband too....SO NOTHING she says NOW will take that away !!!!!

And they are NOT THE ONLY BLACK FAMILY OR WHITE FAMILY that worked HARD for everything they have.....and they were RICH anyways....not poor like they claim....Michelle said her mother didn't work and stayed home with the kids....well LADDIE DA? My MOTHER AND FATHER worked when I was a child !!!!!!!! Blue collar labor....my mother for less than a dollar an hour back then.....They just act like being a WORKING FAMILY is some NEWSFLASH and something RARE???? LOL?????

I think they TALK DOWN to black America when they ACT like they are the ONLY black family out there that had a "NORMAL CHILDHOOD" or "NORMAL FAMILY EXPERIENCE AND LIFE"......they just act like they ALL live in government housing and don't hold jobs ect.....which is NOT true....

Michelle Obama is vain and hates America and now is trying to hope we FORGE THAT !!!!! Her husband is a radical MUSLIM who is a trojan horse and wants to take AMERICA DOWN from the inside out and make it a communist, marxist, country like the 3rd world countries he SO LOVES.....Why don't he GO THERE and become THEIR President INSTEAD OF OURS?

Sorry Michelle and Obama....I ain't buyin' into it all....You put on a good "dog and pony show" but.....you have already shown your TRUE COLORS and they aren't ......red , white, and blue......They aren't black either....you do that for votes.....ITS ALL ABOUT YOUR AGENDA TO MAKE THIS COUNTRY SOCIALIST AND MARXIST....its NOT about helping black folks....you are only using them to get into power.....A sad thing to do to your OWN race....but then again....You THROW EVERYONE UNDER THE BUS....So...why am I surprised????????

And Obama was a drug user--which is more important to me! Many white families, including mine, had to work hard for everything we have also.

        • Posted By: summer4077 @ 08/26/2008 12:18:46 PM

WAS. Have you ever been to college? You're pretty well-spoken (written), so I assume you have. Drugs are common on campus. Doesn't make it right, but I'm not going to hold something stupid a person does in their late teens/early 20s against them. Bush dodged the drug question numerous times and is an admitted (recovering) alcoholic. I don't think that has anything to do with his presidency.

Obama admits to more than being a drug user. He admits he was becoming a junkie.

Obama wrote it in his book. It is absolutely true. Why do so many Obama supporters insult first, and ask later? Where do you get the idea I;m a McCain fan?

At least he can admit to it, unlike Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

          • Posted By: StLouisMan @ 08/26/2008 12:30:06 PM

Drugs were all around when I was in college ( BA and masters, thank you) and in over 30 years of work in academia, but I have never used illegal drugs. People have been making a lot of Cind McCains problem--which makes even less impact on his run for president.

Is it BS when she was talking about the struggles of her family? Yes, Obama's grandmother was a VP of a bank and she helped pay for him to go to a prep school, along with a partial scholarship. Obama's mother did not get her PHD until 1992, long after Barack was an adult.

Bill Clinton: "They said I was Too Young & In-Experienced"

    Source: www.thehuffingtonpost.com

They also said this about 43 Yr. Old John F.Kennedy & Jimmy Carter as well...

    Barack is age (47)

The New Russian President Medvedev is (42) Yrs of Age.

They said Ronald Wilson Reagan, was "Too Old and Too In-Experienced" and that Running a State is not the same as aRunning 50 States.

My fellow Democrats, sixteen years ago, you gave me the profound honor to lead our party to victory and to lead our nation to a new era of peace and broadly shared prosperity.

Note: Together, we prevailed in a campaign in which the Republicans said "I was Too Young and Too Inexperienced to be Commander-in-Chief"...

Sound Familiar ? "It didn't work in 1992, because we were on the right side of history. And it won't work in 2008, because Barack Obama is on the right side of history"

His life is a 21st Century incarnation of the American Dream.

His achievements are proof of our continuing progress toward the "more perfect union" of our founders' dreams. The values of freedom and equal opportunity which have given him his historic chance will drive him as president to give all Americans, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability, their chance to build a decent life, and to show our humanity, as well as our strength, to the world.

We see that humanity, that strength, and our future in Barack and Michelle Obama and their beautiful children. We see them reinforced by the partnership with Joe Biden, his wife Jill, a dedicated teacher, and their family.

Barack Obama will lead us away from division and fear of the last eight years back to unity and hope. If, like me, you still believe America must always be a place called Hope, then join Hillary, Chelsea and me in making Senator Barack Obama the next President of the United States.

Like I said, we really need to talk about race. Just to see some of the comments and the jokes about the black race, it sad. Obama won't become the POTUS, and we can thank the Hillary supporters for 4 more years instead of 4 more months. We will have our say after 4 more years. We will remember how the Hillary supporters treated us. They will try and tell us to unify the party, but that won't happen and we will have 16 more years of the Republican rule. God help us all.

    • Posted By: Eva3 @ 08/27/2008 1:14:23 PM

Can we please drop all the talk about RACE, this is NOT about racism. This election is about the best PERSON for President, not the best RACE. If anything, this election is about men & women and that a WOMAN can do this job just as well as a man. End of story. I am a Hillary Rodham Clinton supporter and am staying that way. I'm tired of hearing the bickering and whinning about race, drop it - there are all kinds of races in this country and we all have issues (even the caucasions - we have the issues everyone else does). Stop playing the race card - we are all in the same boat and have the same struggles, it's called life.

          • Posted By: okie47 @ 08/27/2008 2:13:35 PM

I totally agree with you. The only ones I've heard talking about race are the Obama's, Jackson and Sharpton. You know there are racist of all color (not just white). Race issues will always be with us because there will always be those who are pregidist. I am not against Obama because of his color. IAM against Obama because of his policies. He keeps saying that he wants to "Change" the way things are now. Well change is not always good. Also, anyone who lived through the 60's knows that Obamas ideas are exactly what the "Hippies" chanted. Make peace not war..... Yeah it sounds good but it is not realistic. Obama has no idea what being president of this country is all about. He has only been in politics for less than 2 years. Obama himself admitted on an interview that he has never read our American Constitution. This is only the document that tells us exactly what our country stands for. He has only worked as a lawyer for special intrest orginazation. I do not agree with everything John McCain says but I do feel more comfortable having him in the White House with all his years experience. People need to study history, in the 1930's a man ran for the leader of his country. He had no experience but the older legislatures thought that if they help get this man voted in he would have to come to them for advise and in this way he would be their puppet. Well the man won the election (by 1 vote). However, when the man became the leader he shunned the others and did things his way. By-the-way, this man's name was Hitler. Don't be fooled by the "Rock Star" gatherings. Listen to the true words, and INVESTIGATE what the man is all about. Just because a candidate is black, white, brown, purple or green does not make them the best person for the job.

Well, the problems are not going to be solved as long as the obama supporters continue to scream racism every time they hear something unflattering about obama. Clinton supporters have endured being called every name in the book as well as listening to a bunch of ingrates attacking the Clintons every time a criticism is made of obama. Frankly, the obama supporters are the ones who need to grow up and realize they can't control the thoughts and preferences of other people. You seem to be the ones with a problem about race so discuss it among yourselves and find out what makes you so judgemental. Then maybe we can talk.

          • Posted By: chindognyc @ 08/27/2008 1:50:53 PM

Then why would a white woman who was at the DNC would go on Fox News and say if a black man becomes President, then whites will become second class citizens. What are blacks suppose to think?

            • Posted By: neda @ 08/27/2008 2:05:04 PM

I have repeatedly said that there is an element of prejudice in all of us and for those who say there isn't, they are liars. I mean, the obamas themselves can't seem to leave race out of the campaign. What do you expect from everybody else. Everybody know they are black. why do they keep making racist statement to the media? You'd think they would get a clue?

              • Posted By: chindognyc @ 08/27/2008 2:12:44 PM

And neither can the Clintons. They started it. Look, I already said that no way Obama can win this. Even the World Leaders said it today on the news. Read my earlier comments. We are a joke in the worlds eyes. No wonder Russia don't have any respect for us. And by the way, the people in Russia said they would rather have Obama as President than McCain. Their reason is because Obama is more for peace and not war. All McCain can say is he knows how to win wars.

                • Posted By: busby @ 08/27/2008 3:30:56 PM

No, the Clintons did not start it. Obama started it by accusing them of racism. If anybody were not racists, it was the Clintons. If Obama thinks he can exercise control by using racism, he's got another think coming. Most of us have been called racists for not falling into line so many times that it has no meaning anymore. So, please stop attempting to use it to intimidate people into silence. It doesn't work!

You are making some really valid points in your comments and I totally agree. Honestly I wish that all that you posted was not true, but the fact is that it is all true this is the country that we live in. So very sad.

Have you ever watched a black comedian before? Better yet a black sitcom? I think the writers for these people couldn't come up with a single joke if they weren't making fun of white people. BTW those offensive impressions of how white people talk, Ive never met a white man that speaks like that IN MY LIFE!!!. Matter of fact, Bryant Gumble is the only person I know who speaks like that. lol You wanna be offended by race jokes? Watch how 100% of all black comedians speak of white people. Find me one black comedian that doesn't tell white jokes. Be offended about that, or stop asking others to do what you won't do.

I agree with you and I do have to say, I am against blacks making fun of white people. I cannot disagree with you on that matter, but Obama will not become the next President. As long as people are saying that if a black man becomes the next President, then whites will become second class. That was said just yesterday and at the convention hall.

If Obama loses he has nobody to thank but himself. Hillary has been campaigning her heart out for him, even though he has done very little to help her with her debt like he promised. Some Obama supporters think they can win without Hillary and her supporters. Go ahead and try, but if you lose, blame YOURSELVES, NOT Hillary, and not her supporters. Hopefully most Hillary supporters will take Hillary's advice, and not listen to the arrogance and insults of the worst (hopefully minimal) portion of the Obama supporters

      • Posted By: oklok @ 08/27/2008 1:55:03 PM

She's done all she needed to do. The ball is in his court. Period. He loses - he can choose to blame it on racism. But it will have absolutely nothing to do with Senator Clinton. His supporters have to accept that. Where is Obama reaching out to the black community like Sen Clinton did to hers? Party unity one way only. Bill is a separate entity. He is the only president in 28 years and left office (after impeachment/pardon) with a higher approval rating than Obama has now. Mr. Clinton can say whatever he wants and I sure the heck hope he does. How many proven Democrats would enjoy it? How about the delegates who have buyers remorse? Obama's camp has painted him a racist and completely dismissed his legacy. And If Obama really wanted to take control of his party why is he not in Denver?

What is it that nobody says anything about how smart is Obama as opposed to McCain's intellectual shallowness? The media points out experience how about graduating 894 out of 895 in the Academy. Obama is 10 times smarter than McCain.

    • Posted By: judithod @ 08/26/2008 12:21:31 PM

But for all that intelligence, Obama has no professional accomplishments. His resume is comprised of only job hops designed to give him a political stage. No one can name one notable accomplishment he's had since graduating from law school--EXCEPT for convincing the Democratic machine that he can read a teleprompter well enough to bamboozle a lot of Americans into thinking he's presidential material.

Be fair though, the same is true when the republicans enter something - Democrats vote no. It isn't one sided. It is typical political BS. What has the democratic controlled congress ever done (other than lie to us). Step back in time when social security was touted by and put into effect by democrats. We were promised that the money would never be touched for anything else. But, that sure didn't happen now did it. They found a way to tap into it with IOU's.... guess who pays back those IOU's.... yep, me, you and every other taxpayer. So breaking it down, the took money from us for this fund, then they "borrowed" from it with us paying it back.... not very sound judgement there..... That is one of many examples of what happens when these politicians try to govern anything.....

        • Posted By: News and Notes @ 08/26/2008 5:18:03 PM

anything? don't be so sure. After a first term of W's arrogance, incompentence, belligenance, and divisiveness, I didn't think he could ever get re-elected, then he did and he was exponentially worse in his second term. I'm very concerned about a relative new comer

      • Posted By: wildlifeusa @ 08/26/2008 1:27:38 PM

Inexperienced?? Do you think with all his experience Bush has done well?? he is the worst president EVER!! I will choose intelligence over experience anyday! Obama will be surrounded with plenty of experienced people and the difference with Bush, he knows how to listen! You dumb republicans! You are the shame of this country.l

        • Posted By: catspaw @ 08/26/2008 6:11:43 PM

Speaking on knowing how to listen. What do people think about Bush's cabinet members quiting on him. (HE DOES NOT LISTEN TO THEM)

Obama already stated he wants his people to tell him if his ideas are bad and why and work to make it the best for the American people.

      • Posted By: PaTriotDE @ 08/26/2008 12:58:21 PM

Really? You are drinking the Fix News Kool-Aid. It is funny to see the repubs squirming with their panties in a bunch. LOL!! I could write a lot about Obama's accomplishments, but for someone of your intellect it will be a waste of my effort, since you are firmly grounded in the talking points that Fix News and Rove inject into your brain. So, there is a poetic irony of people such as you as they drive into the abyss with your beliefs firmly at hand and does not understand that the calm that your convictions give you is nothing but the short flight that will end as you meet the gravity of the situation as the reality crashes into the ground, with blind white pain and end the ignorance of your existence with you even knowing that you have wasted your life.

The bottom line is: after all the speeches, fanfair and balloons are gone, you're still left with a guy with an empty CV. If he was looking for a job as a used car salesman he'd be the man for the job. But leader of the free world and commander-in-chief, I think NOT. We Democrats better re-think this!

    • Posted By: bravo01 @ 08/26/2008 1:28:22 PM

What, exactly, did GB have on his resume when he took office? Or Reagan for that matter?

      • Posted By: wildlifeusa @ 08/26/2008 1:54:50 PM

Oh yes, Reagan.. he was a hollywood entertainement... what a great resume!

          UMMMM GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA !

          • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 08/28/2008 1:37:08 AM

            Um, Bedtime with Bonzo.

          • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 08/27/2008 3:55:05 PM

Governer of California who turned the economy around in California to actually help his state, not turn it into a laughing stock like Arnie has done. Arnold used to have strong value beliefs, but I guess being married into influence and riches has changed that.

          • Posted By: pimpnamedslickback @ 08/26/2008 9:21:42 PM

So Arnie is the most popular and effective CA gov? "You are terminated"

          • Posted By: catspaw @ 08/26/2008 5:22:15 PM

The last governor who took office didn't do dittle sh!t for us. So how about a bit more simple man in the office. What a breath of fresh air!

      • Posted By: Davy2008 @ 08/26/2008 2:44:49 PM

How about Governor of Texas for starters

  • Posted By: josemarti @ 08/26/2008 2:14:38 PM

What a disaster. The Democrats thought they could ride the wave of Obamania into the White House. You thought you could link McCain to Bush. Think again. Now you see the problems with your candidate, but it is too late. And the Republicans have not had their convention yet. And the real and sustained attacks have not started yet. And McCain has not had a chance to knock him silly at the debates and unmask him. Cubs win the World Series in October. McCain the White House in November. Off to Telluride in December. Can't wait.

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 08/26/2008 3:41:55 PM

Only about half the democrats. The other half voted for Hillary

      • Posted By: bennettsusan @ 08/26/2008 8:21:10 PM

Considering all the benefits Hillary had coming into the election, all the money, the backing of the Washington establishment, the name recognition.....it took quite a screw up for her to lose. The fact that she didn't win is really quite amazing. She lost to a mostly unknown African American candidate in a country that still has considerable racial tension! How is it that the Clintons have somehow managed to
get any sympathy from this unattractive victim suit they have put on? They blew it big time. Hillary deserves credit for her own trailblazing, to be sure, but blaming her own mess ups in the primary on everyone but herself is not very presidential like.

        • Posted By: News and Notes @ 08/26/2008 9:30:09 PM

Who has Hillary blamed? She has wholeheartedly endorsed Obama. We have had a terrible 8 years with a republican. A young, smart, attractive, new candidate comes in and stirs up hope, change, and unity. He gets 90% of the black vote. He gets endorsements from the DNC and party elites. Its amazing Hillary still got half the votes. What is your problem? How does criticizing Hillary help Obama's cause? Obama and his supporters NEED Hillary supporters.

          • Posted By: katvan @ 08/27/2008 7:30:14 AM

Don't forget the MSM has been in the bag giving him only positive coverage and attacking Sen Clinton. barry outspends her as much as 5:1, he wins 11 in a row and can't close out. With all his advantages he couldn't win and yet they continue to bash Sen Clinton. There is maybe 40K voter difference and out of barry's 13 caucus wins only 4 are blue. How far is 38% in Iowa gonna count in November? Gov Sebilius said yesterday not to count on Kansas. Utah? Idaho? Those caucus states account for the delegate lead. I don't think people want barry as much as they want to out destroy the Clintons. I can see why -- they've all failed at being president.

            • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 08/28/2008 1:34:35 AM

MSM likes Sen. Obama. And why not? Sen. Obama lit the fire in this election. As Pres. George H.W. Bush so eloquently admitted: 'We're jealous.'

        • Posted By: katvan @ 08/27/2008 7:06:57 AM

Great job in promoting your candidate!

    • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 08/28/2008 1:27:03 AM

And don't count your chickens before they hatch.

    • Posted By: PaTriotDE @ 08/26/2008 2:32:31 PM

That is the difference. Republicans only know how to attack, and that is the only option they have left, since they have nothing else. Did you noted that they did the same thing in 2006 and got the butts kicked. People are tired of the repubs, people are tired of hearing about Bush, everyone knows it is disaster. When the majority of people think of Bush their mind associate his name with disaster and incompetence. when most of the people think of repubs, their mind associate them with disaster, incompetence and corruption. I know that is inconceivable in repubs mind not to go on the attack, but here it is and it is working, why do you think that democrats are registering in record numbers and republicans have actually seen a decrease in their membership? The name Bush is almost becoming unmentionable and will be buried in shame and dishonor. Republicans will love their convention and their attack lines as much as they enjoy watching Fix News, but the rest of the country is tired of the Neo-cons and their corruption. Bottom line, we will see in November how sick and tired the country is of the Neo-cons.

      • Posted By: cynthiann @ 08/26/2008 4:03:28 PM

I agree with PaTriotDE. The Republicans are all about trying to shoot someone down with negative attacks..That shows in the system. We are all messed up now because of negativity. Maybe one day we will learn how to come together. Unfortunately there are some people out there with some cold hard hearts. May God Bless them.

        • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 08/27/2008 3:48:58 PM

Were you asleep during the democratic race for the presidency, or are you so dilusional that you see your party do something then blame the other? Here is a hint: Both sides attack, neither is innocent. To believe otherwise shows your ignorance

      • Posted By: Red Meat Democrat @ 08/26/2008 2:44:08 PM

The Democrats will pick up seatsl in Congress but lose the White House.

        • Posted By: PaTriotDE @ 08/26/2008 3:07:05 PM

Dream-on, but we will see in November and since you can't predict the future, you cannot make such a statement.

          • Posted By: repub4obama @ 08/26/2008 3:19:37 PM

If you believe that you can make some money on betting on the presidency. My money is on Obama, (cleaned up in the democratic nomination). There are numerous sites you can bet on I can give you a list if you want. Of course any gambler will tell you that the smart money is on Obama.

      • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/26/2008 2:45:42 PM

How can one turn a great speech into what Mr. josemarti wrote? She was brilliant. All of the medias around the States are impressed and humbled, and this guy brings cold, dirty water to the party.

    • Posted By: maymok @ 08/26/2008 4:24:52 PM

Let's vote our fears. Lte's vote for McCain. Let's vote against our own self-interests. We know exactly who is behind McCain: Bush and Rove. We know who benefited from the 8 years of Bush. We know who is worse off. We know who will benefit if we vote McCain. Let's vote Mccain and precipitate the fall of our country. We will have nobody else to blame but ourselves. Civilizations rise and fall. This is our moment to decide either we fall or we go on.

    • Posted By: Red Meat Democrat @ 08/26/2008 2:21:18 PM

Si senor! The left wing of the party has run the train off the track yet again.

  • Posted By: ICYEYES800 @ 08/27/2008 10:44:57 PM

BEFORE choosing Biden for the VP position, Obama was all over the fact that McCain was too old, too senile and FORGETFUL to be even considered for the Presidency....Now, he's one upped McCain, he's got an OLD, FORGETFUL, and FULL OF HOT AIR....McCain looks like a super genius compared to these idiots...they look a lot like DUMB and DUMBER....No Obama

He still is too old and you are still sick in the head.

It is sad when I talk about Harriet Christian saying "if we elect a black man to be POTUS, then white America will become second class citizens." She said this yesterday on Fox News and yet, people seem to agree with her. Are you on this for the issues or are you here to show your true colors!!!

  • Posted By: Gojira @ 08/26/2008 2:17:50 PM

Obama is far from perfect. He's no saviour, just a politician, albeit one with great oratory skills, true compassion and the talent to inspire -- something this country needs greatly. We can vote in McCain, and reward 8 years of failure. Yes, and maybe we should, this country might need to bottom out before we realize counting on 20th century ideas and a John Wayne attitude to keep our place in the 21st century world is a road wrought with danger and, ultimately, failure. We get the leaders we deserve. I'd like to think that we'd get the obviously more thoughtful and forward thinking one as opposed to the one who represents pig headedness as a virtue. How anyone can look at McCain, can look at the Republican party and say that's what we need more of -- well, they're not Americans I care to know, or even call Americans. The GOP has damaged this country in ways most folks don't know. We should pay attention to how the world sees us, and not because they're better than us, but because as the world goes, so go we. If we keep playing cowboy, especially now that our cavalry has been decimated by the incompetence of truly bad human beings, we will lose... Obama 08. It's a vote for tomorrow. McCain is a vote for yesterday. And yesterday is dead.

Fabulous post, I agree totally, he is just a man, a politician but one that I trust a hell of a lot more than McCain.

  • Posted By: News and Notes @ 08/27/2008 10:47:47 AM

Many Obama supporters are still trashing Hillary supporters rather than reaching out to them. The type of arrogant, angry., judgemental, dismissive, insulting, and oversimplified attacks on this blog against Hillary supporters are odious, and go against core democratic principles. If Obama wants to win in November, he and his supporters NEED to understand, reach out, and convince skeptical Hillary supporters that they are important.

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 08/27/2008 11:03:38 AM

You know what, these women who wanted Hillary to be the first woman in the White House are so fake. They forget that black women have it much harder. Not only are they women, but they are black. They have a much tougher time reaching the top. Why don't they think about that. Blacks would like to see a black man in the White House also. Blacks can do anything whites can do. Please remember that.

      • Posted By: archmsu @ 08/27/2008 11:23:49 AM

Are you talking about black women who go to college, or the rest who get pregnant at 15?

        • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 08/28/2008 1:10:29 AM

Or beautiful black entertainers and models.

      • Posted By: News and Notes @ 08/27/2008 4:21:26 PM

Why are so many Obama supportes so hostile towards skeptical Hillary supporters? Who mentioned women? Who mentioned race? Obama can win over Hillary supporters by showing his abilities and competence. That is how he can win the election.

      • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 08/27/2008 11:26:53 AM

Sounds like you are supporting Obama only because he is black, not because he is the best candidate or the best leader for the party or our country.

      • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 08/27/2008 11:23:24 AM

So, because black women have it harder, you would divide the democratic party and ensure another republican in the white house?

    • Posted By: fairobserver @ 08/27/2008 4:51:16 PM

Obama and his supporters have bended over backwards for Clinton and her supporters last night was a good example of that. Obama did something that no one else has ever done in the history of the DNC giving the losing opponent a prime time spot light appearance which even included Clinton???s daughter. After watching her speech last night it included everything with the exception of her accepting the nomination. What were Obama???s supporters doing in the mean time sucking it up as usual while her supporters continue to complain and demand more stating that Obama has not done enough for them or her?

There was a count of (17), I???s in her speech.
