    Governorships: State-Regional "Experience" ..ONLY
    Note: Governor to President History....

    1. George W. Bush Jr: 1 YEAR as a TEXAS GOVERNOR..State-Regional Experience.. ONLY

Note: It was said of Bush Jr. "He Had No Experience" Too !

    2. Bill Clinton: Years as Arkansas State Governor...State-Regional Experience.. ONLY

it was also said of him, that "HE LACKED EXPERIENCE AW WELL"

    3. Ronald Wilson Reagan: Governor of California, had State-Regional "Experience" ONLY

and the Media said he was a B-Actor, who had No Experience in Governing a Nation, as well....FACT

    4. Jimmy Carter: Governor of Georgia and Peanut Farmer, He had State-Regional "Experience" ONLY

and the Media said "He Lacked Experience"

Guess what they All Won the White House !!!

PS: You Racist, just say, "I Don't Want a Afro-American as My President or a Afro-American as My 1st lady. You might as well...

You've come up with So Many EXCUSES and the LACK OF EXPERIENCE EXCUSE IS THE MOST PATHETIC EXCUSE OF THEM ALL !!

Hey Goober....I usually do not waste my time with your remarks. You finally posted something without using a filabuster, and brought up a very important issue..EXPERIENCE....there is a wise, old saying about the subject...."There is no substitute for experience". I tend to agree with that statement. You give examples, trying to downplay its importance. You use the following Presidents, as examples...

      1. George W. Bush........well now...How well did this inexperienced President do??? Are you suggesting, President Bush was an adequate leader???

      2. Bill Clinton......if you will review his early Presidency, it is full of poor decisions. From his decisions on Rwanda to his failure to identify radical Islam for the real threat it was. He turned down Bin Laden, on a silver platter. Scandels...corruption...impeachment....a lot of dead people. His lack of experience is quite evident in retrospect.

      3. Ronald Reagan....he was a once in a millennium leader. Reagan was born for the job. He virtually saved this nation. You can find all the faults you want....but I am convinced....Reagan was destined by God, to lead America. This is a very rare occurrence, and highly unlikely to happen again in our lifetimes.

      4. Mr Peanut....PLEASE....Carter is a perfect example of the risks involved with lack of experience. His Presidency is laughable. We only survived it, because God sent Reagan.

So, Goober....I think you illustrated very well....the very necessary asset called experience. When the POTUS lacks it, it is a high risk proposition. And these times we live in????....the risks are too great, to gamble.

After reading so many of these comments, it is obvious that the democratic party is doing McCain's work for him. McCain won't have to run on the issues, he won't have to prove he is mentally capable, he won't have to do a thing except sit back and watch the democrats rip themselves apart.

To Obama's supporters - it is not Hilary's job to make the party endorse Barack, it is Barack's job to win the party over with his invitation. She did exactly what she was supposed to do - endorse him for president and pledge her support. Bashing Hilary does not diminsh Hilary, it diminishes Barack.

To Clinton's supporters - She lost. If you want her issues to have a voice you will need to vote for Obama, it is that simple. McCain WILL NOT champion Hilary's causes. Bashing Barack does not diminshe Barack, it diminshes Hilary.

Do we wish Hilary had less baggage? Yes.
Do we wish Barack had more experience? Yes.

Do they both represent the ideals of the Democratic Party? Yes, yes and yes.

They aren't ideal candidates, either of them. Admit it, swallow it, and move forward.

To all democrats - if you don't endorse the DEMOCRATIC PARTY, the republicans will win in November.

    Your choice.

" ADMIT IT, SWALLOW IT AND MOVE FORWARD "; FAMOUS QUOTE , BY WILLIAM JEFFERSON BLYTH CLINTON.

Finally someone gets it. It's not Sen Clinton's job. Where is Obama? Isn't it his Convention? He isn't even there for his own delegates and certainly not for Sen Clinton's. Why doesn't somebody focus on the NOMINEE?

Answer me this: Did Ted Kennedy have to fight to get his name in nomination? Did Ted Kennedy mention Carter's name once in his speech? Did he shake hands with Carter? Did he ever come out and either endorse or embrace Carter?

DID HE CAMPAIGN FOR CARTER BEFORE THE CONVENTION?

LEARN HISTORY AND LEAVE HER ALONE.

And speaking of speeches...I hear Pelosi, even after receiving a sound spanking from the Catholic church for her proclamations that the Catholic church does not agree on when life begins, actually has the ba!!$ to say she stands by her comments. For those of you that didn't hear her comments...you missed a really good " did I REALLY just hear her say what I thought i heard her say?" moment. And she's too stupid to admit she made a really big fauz pas. With friends like Pelosi, Obama needs no enemies!

  • Posted By: mpirog01 @ 08/27/2008 12:31:51 PM

I must agree with Michael Gerson; last night Hillary Clinton did not do enough to unify the party or to pull a spot light off of herself and put in on Barack Obama. Too much of the speech revolved around her campaign and what the democratic party needs to do as a whole, (while not mentioning enough that Obama is the right man to be the president leading it) While she did at points give a rousing speech, it probably did not do enough to provide support to Obama and to get her supporters to back him.

What a powerful moment it would have been if (with Obama in the audience) she had looked in his direction and said: I have over the last 16 months come to know you, to admire you, to respect you, to love you and to believe that you are ready to be MY President, our President. I will work towards your nomination with every fibre of my being. I know that Bill and Chelsea feel the same way. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Instead it was about me, me, me, me, me. Ugh.

You are not one of her supporters and as such will never be happy. Her speech was not directed at you - you already voted for him. How can you posit whether or not she did enough? Her job was to talk to her supporters--her supporters--her only job--and tell them why they have to vote for him or at least Democratic. She laid it out loud and clear. Do you think any of her supporters were the least bit interested in hearing her talk about him? That's his job - Michelle's job. Why, if you hate Sen Clinton so much, would you want her anywhere near him?

      • Posted By: mpirog01 @ 08/27/2008 2:24:01 PM

True I did support Obama, and true she was talking to her supporters not Obama's but my point remains the same. Having a nostalgic concession speech does not help further Obama with her supporters anymore than it continues to seperate them. Both sides are bitter after the end of the primaries, the only difference is that Obama supporters get to continue to vote for him. She can't simply just tell her supporters to vote for Barack Obama she must tell them why they must, because if they wanted to listen to him in the first place then there wouldn't be so many siding with McCain.

        • Posted By: busby @ 08/27/2008 3:59:46 PM

No, HE has to tell democrats why they have to vote for him and he's done an inferior job so far. It's not up to her. HE's the one that is running for office so let him stop fund raising and lead for a change.

        • Posted By: oklok @ 08/27/2008 2:55:34 PM

You're not getting it. It was EXACTLY what her supporters needed. You are not one. You cannot see it from the other side. Impossible. So you cannot say what would help them vote for Obama. It was not a nostalgic concession speech. That is abut as demeaning and dismissive as it gets. You can't possibly be a woman to say that. And clearly you weren't listening to her words. She told her supporters in no uncertain terms (the lives of their children and the future of our country are in peril) what it would mean if her supporters voted for McCain. I quit. You all just want to continue your bashing. Go right ahead and lose Obama votes one by one. Clinton supporters have come out today to see what Obama supporters are saying and what do they see? You words. What is it going to take to get you to see Sen Clinton is done. The Primary is over. She released her voters now Obama has to close the deal and words like yours and the others are not helping. What do you want? Really? To continue to bash the Clintons and her supporters? Do you want Obama to lose so you can keep bashing her? Or do you want him to win? Nothing you have said today is helping him win.

          • Posted By: mpirog01 @ 08/27/2008 3:20:23 PM

Once again you are proving that you are just as close minded as you claim me to be. Other than an obvious Hillary supporter yourself who are you to say what every Clinton supporter needs hear in order to make them vote democratic? With all your comments about other people's comments on this forum, you might just be proving that you are the most bitter Clinton supporter of all. And by the way anyone who bases their presidential vote on the comments of anyone other than the candidate themselves on any forum is a *** moron and should stay home November 3rd, and maybe you should too.

President Clinton and his family has always our support even in the worst of times. It is sad that for the primaries Hillary forgot that the best and most prepared person to be president was standing beside her on the same team. Obama and Clinton were like the Jamaica's track team. The Democrat had the most ready and powerful candidates. Ready to lead and take down the republican. Obama was ready to lead all even Biden. Obama was right on national security and the war while the rest were not. He is right on health care, energy. Obama Being smart is not sin, Being calm and in control is a virtue. Clinton in her ambition to win pulled a T.Harding on Barack. For some reason the media thinks Barack has to do all the pampering and comforting. Barack has little to thank her for. She created the mess and she need to clean it up. Now she remembers she is on the same team. Well she has to do more than remember. Clinton thought McCain would be the easiest to beat so she sent him support at the detriment of her team. McCain and she friends, Not. Or she would be on McCain's ticket as V.P. Clinton killed that option with Obama by forgetting they were on the same team. Barack proved a true challenge for president so sold out the party. There would be no Unity issues if Clinton had some wisdom and self control about the contest. It's too bad cause I really liked her.
Clinton need to apologize to Obama and the American people. Clinton need to thank him for being so gracious even when she was undermining him and the party. Obama supporters are standing strong and stead inspite of all the negativity. We will not waiver OBAMA/BIDEN.

    • Posted By: neda @ 08/27/2008 2:11:59 PM

I think you must have gotten drunk on the obama koolaid and lost your sense of reality. Ok. It is time to sober up and become back to reality. More and more everyday people are beginning to realize obama is a no suitor with no substances. Can you say "above my pay grade"? Yeah, that is what we all want for a president, someone who can't decide on basic decision.

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 08/27/2008 9:10:01 PM

Can you think of something original? 'Obama koolaid' is not only stale, it makes no sense.

    • Posted By: josemarti @ 08/27/2008 1:00:53 PM

Good post. Don't you think that if Obama had lost, he would not be campaigning night and day for Hillary? Her performance last night was ultimately self serving. It did nothing to humanize, personalize Obama. Anyone who thinks she was not trying to promote herself, and undermine him (without appearing to do so) is a dunce..And we thought that Obama had St. George like slain the dragon. This woman is a Medussa. Will was right "hell knows no Fury like a woman scorned."

          • Posted By: oklok @ 08/27/2008 2:43:32 PM

Yeah like he forgot all about it that first time? And he's ticked off because Clinton fundraisers want nothing to do with him? Somebody better clue him in to respect or he doesn't have a chance in November.

    • Posted By: oklok @ 08/27/2008 1:58:10 PM

      KATI:

"Obama was right on national security and the war while the rest were not."

When? In 2002? His words meant nothing and when they did his actions were diametrically opposed to his words. A theme it seems.

Stop talking about Clinton. You know less about her than Obama. It's embarrassing for you and your candidate.

This comment is for Eva3. You can't honestly believe that race has nothing to do with this campaign. It has everything to do with it when you have individuals in this country who have stated that a BLACK MAN does not deserve to be a president of this country and have those who want to kill him because he is black. Racism is still very strong in the United States, but just swept under the carpet. Yes, I believe that Caucasians experience issues like everyone else in this world, but it is not the same when you are of a different race. I am half Mexican and half Caucasian who is married to a STRONG BLACK MAN and have experienced racism from all three sides. No one is playing the race card- it is called REALITY!!!

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/27/2008 2:51:20 PM

You totally lost me as this is not an answer to my question regarding your comment. By the way I have a very diverse group of friends and associates, Republicans, Independents and Democrats and No the Republicans that I know are supporting Obama this election.

    • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 08/27/2008 3:10:54 PM

That is the biggest crock of $hit yet posted about race. Simply observe postings here. Racism is mostly perpetuated by those who have some sort of chip on their shoulder and lash out at everyone else - mostly by those who can't seem to accept personal responsibility

      • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 08/27/2008 5:14:11 PM

Oh I'm sure there is race bias going on in this campaign, human nature being what it is that couldn't be helped. The only question is, to what degree? As Barack and Michelle become increasingly more known I think it is becoming less and less, which again is human nature. There have been times, especially during the primaries, that it was more prevalent. Hopefully by election time it will be at a real minimum because it really doesn't belong. SEMPER FI

'"I don't regret setting bombs,'" Bill Ayers said. '"I feel we didn't do enough.'" Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970's as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago. The long curly locks in his Wanted poster are shorn, though he wears earrings. He still has tattooed on his neck the rainbow-and-lightning Weathermen logo that appeared on letters taking responsibility for bombings. And he still has the ebullient, ingratiating manner, the apparently intense interest in other people, that made him a charismatic figure in the radical student movement.

I think she did everything she could to support Obama but still staying true to herself. She fought him for the nomination because she felt he wasnt ready to be President. She cant just take it all back and keep her credibility. Sadly, she's forced to fall in line behind him like the 18 million that voted for her will more than likely do. You might think she isnt staying true to herself supporting him now but she has to think of those people she was running for in the first place and which candidate is better equipped to help them now that she cannot. And she must also think of her future in politics and where she wants to go from here.

Reading the comments.....do all you obamamohammeds REALLY think you heard a Clinton endorsment of Hussein??? Come on...don't lie to yourself, now...REALLY????

If you do then it verifies another HolyRoller theory....obama enthusiasm is rooted in mental illness.

    NO WAY....NO HOW....NOBAMA!!!!

    NOBAMA!!!

    • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 08/27/2008 7:31:54 PM

You know all about mental illness.

  • Posted By: C. MacLean @ 08/27/2008 4:51:24 PM

    • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 08/27/2008 5:04:12 PM

If somehow you are convinced that McCain is an ideal candidate, well I think I would suggest you check again. He has experience but nothing to show for it. He has ideas, at least one, more of the Bush-Cheney policies. and he has baggage, a lot of it. Then there is the Republican Party who has continually demonstrated their elitist style and arrogant focus on Special Interests a select few and irresponsible neglect and apathy for the average American. God help us if they get in again!

      • Posted By: C. MacLean @ 08/27/2008 5:28:56 PM

How could you possibly think from reading this post that I think McCain is the ideal candidate? My point is that if the democrats don't stop slinging at each other, he will win by default, because the democrats will have made it too easy for him.

My point is that neither Barack nor Hilary is the ideal DEMOCRATIC candidate - both have flaws. McCain has more, but if the two wings of the democratic party don't move forward, they will cancel each other out and we will end up with McCain.

Obama made a HUGE mistake by letting Hillary speak at the convention last night. Because if I was upset at the Obama campaign for stealing the nomination before. I'm beyond furious now. If I had doubts about voting for him before, now there is no way I'll vote for him! I mean to think that if the media and press was just a little fair to her and not so in the "tank" for Obama, she would have been the nominee. You could tell by the look on the audience faces there was HUGE BUYER'S REMORSE!!! Obama's supporters who never got a real chance to even hear Hillary and by cheating in the Cacuses and the DNC Rules committee sabotage and last night was the first real night they got to see her. They way we see her. The way she should have been seen. As the rightful leader of the party. So yes, I'll suffer 4 more years until 2012, Yes! I will turn my back on the my party in order to save it. Yes! I will for the first time in MY ADULT LIFE vote Republican. Yes! I WILL! CU in 2012!

ANOTHER CLOSET RACIST....OH WELL, WHAT ELSE IS NEW...SO HILLARY LOST THE NOMINATION AND NOW U WANT TO TAKE UR BALL & GO TO THE OTHER SIDE! GROW UP & STOP PLAYING ADULT...WE DON'T NEED ANYONE ON THE OBAMA TEAM THAT'S NOT 4 THE GOOD OF THIS COUNTRY!

QUIT THREATENING & JUST KILL URSELF SINCE IT'S SO BAD 4 YOU...WHO NEEDS U?

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 08/27/2008 3:34:51 PM

Welcome to the "party". Hillary gave on of the finest speeches, I have ever heard...from any politician. As for you voting McCain...it shows wisdom. It shows your American before any other identification.

I told this forum many months ago...McCain will receive the most cross-over Dem votes since, Ronald Reagan vs Mr. Peanut Carter. It will most likely dwarf the number.

I have supported McCain since he got the nom., but have never had serious issues with a Hillary POTUS. National Security is my top issue. I KNOW she LOVES America, and would use whatever means necessary to protect our homeland and children. Hussein would not. Case closed.

And he chose Biden (9000 votes) instead of Hillary (18,000,000). And he makes good judgements?

      NOBAMA!!!

Hey tired and old. Do you have problem with woman per se? Have you been rejected by a woman or you are just simply gay? This Presidential election is between Obama and McCain, yet, you wouldn't hesistate to bash Sen. Clinton. You branded her as evil when she is calling for unity. In this posting, I did not read any derogatory remarks against McCain. Do you like men?

I concur that Hillary could have done a lot better but what she did was just sufficient enough for the "public" not the wonks. As a 64 year old white working woman who was an active women's liberationist, these other women better get a clue and listen to our youth. While gender discrimination is still an issue it pales in comparison to racial discrimination. Yes, we got the vote later but whne we got it, we didn't have to get ourselves beaten up or killed to excersize that vote as African Americans did. And our young women understand this! Because of our struggles, they have to face less of it. But hail to Michele Obama. She had to overcome both and did it beautifully. Get a clue and listen to our young women and men who understand Obama better thatn we do.

    • Posted By: think4yourself @ 08/27/2008 3:50:10 PM

I agree with you Michelle was good. It should have been her running for the nomination, she seems more creditable than her husband. But most women are. As the the "Youth" they will not come out in the droves you think. They are always engized and ready to go! But they dont follow through. Between Russia's rising cold war behavior, the Olympic Games and growing threat from Iran, this is the most patriotic we have ever been and it doesnt matter if you are a youth, elder, woman, minority, spritutal, or not. We are American's first! That is why Obama will lose. In times like these we want Apple Pie. And Obama is not Apple Pie. Sorry he's gonna lose. 2012

      • Posted By: imani1107 @ 08/27/2008 6:52:22 PM

AND JOHN MCCAIN & GWB ARE "APPLE PIE?" CAREFUL, YOU'RE LETTING UR OWN PREJUDICES RULE UR COMMON SENSE. YES WE CAN...OBAMA WILL WIN!!

So true, I have been called racists so many times, I am immuned to it! When it comes to Obama and many of his supporters, I think the motto is "when all else fail, play the race card! I am sure it will be constantly played as we get closer to Nov 4th-----but it is going to back fire the same way it was backfired on Obama when he tried to play it last month!

ABC Reporter Arrested in Denver Taking Pictures
    of Senators, Big Donors

Asa Eslocker Was Investigating the Role of Lobbyists and Top Donors
at the Convention ABC News by Brian Ross Aug. 27, 2008

DENVER--Police in Denver arrested an ABC News producer today as he and a camera crew were attempting to take pictures on a public sidewalk of Democratic Senators and VIP donors leaving a private meeting at the Brown Palace Hotel.

Police on the scene refused to tell ABC lawyers the charges against the producer, Asa Eslocker, who works with the ABC News investigative unit.

A cigar-smoking Denver police sergeant, accompanied by a team of five other officers, first put his hands on Eslocker's neck, then twisted the producers arm behind him to put on handcuffs.

A police official later told lawyers for ABC News that Eslocker is being charged with trespass, interference, and failure to follow a lawful order. He also said the arrest followed a signed complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel.

Eslocker was put in handcuffs and loaded in the back of a police van which headed for a nearby police station.

Video taken at the scene shows a man, wearing the uniform of a Boulder County sheriff, ordering Eslocker off the sidewalk in front of the hotel, to the side of the entrance.

The sheriff's officer is seen telling Eslocker the sidewalk is owned by the hotel. Later he is seen pushing Eslocker off the sidewalk into oncoming traffic, forcing him to the other side of the street.

It was two hours later when Denver police arrived to place Eslocker under arrest, apparently based on a complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel, a central location for Democratic officials.

Eslocker and his ABC News colleagues are spending the week investigating the role of corporate lobbyists and wealthy donors at the convention for a series of Money Trail reports on ABC World News with Charles Gibson.

Hillary, being the classy, gracious, professional, exceptional leader she is, gave a magnificant speech supporting Obama last night. She did everything she could to ensure her supporters, some of whom are still skeptical of Obama's experience and ability to deliver. Despite her gracious overture, this blog is filled with Obama supporters alienating and insulting Hillary and her supporters. There is very little outreach. This is outrageous. As an undecided Hillary supporter, I hope and pray that some of these angry, nasty, insulting, arrogant, far reaching, bitter, and self-righteoud Obama supporters do not represent more than a small minority of Obama supporters. Hillary is not a candiate for president, but she is one of the most respected of all US senators. The primaries are over. Hillary is doing her part. Its up to Obama and his supporters to reach out. Unfortunately, I'm not so sure it will happen. Hillary supporters are moving towards Obama, but not with the level of enthusiasm he needs to win. Many Hillary supporters are moderate, LOYAL Democrats.

News and notes. These loud mouths lost me a long time ago. But it would not change the way I would have voted. I've never voted for a republican but the questions I have about Obama are about his character and would he be good for the country. And, Im sorry, but I just can't pull the lever for him because he just doesn't ring true and I don't think we will be any better off with either him or McCain. In short, there is no decent choice this time. We no longer vote for candidates for any of the right reasons.

I totally agree with you on your post News. She indeed gave a wonderful speech and went a long way in trying to unify the party. I especially liked it when she said. "I want you to ask yourselves: Were you in this campaign just for me? Or were you in it for that young Marine and others like him? Were you in it for that mom struggling with cancer while raising her kids? Were you in it for that boy and his mom surviving on the minimum wage? Were you in it for all the people in this country who feel invisible?"

I did not agree with all of her tactics during the primaries, but last night she showed real class and showed that she did deserve to as well as she did in the primaries.

How about Obama's extreme position on live birth abortions for one reason? IMO, Clinton does not go this far.

      http://www.newsweek.com/id/155560

Or maybe the fact that I don't trust his positions on foreign affairs what with the Goolsby episode and his flip flop on Palestine/Israel.

Or maybe the fact that he doesn't have a clue about how American business works, never having actually worked before in his life. Clinton understood the dynamic between labor and management, and IMO, McCain has a better grasp on it than Obama.

Or maybe it is because I believe in the value of checks and balances. I believe in secret democratic voting, which the democrats are about to deny workers with HR800. If Obama wins, he will sign this bill into law, and then all production really will leave our shores. What will happen to the economy then?

  • Posted By: C. MacLean @ 08/27/2008 9:39:09 AM

Oh for heaven's sake, for a bunch of supposedly grown men, there is too much whining coming from these "professional" speech writers..

Hilary Clinton did exactly what she had to do - help the Democratic party go forward by helping them heal. She addressed her remarks to her female supporters rather than her blue collar supporters because her female supporters are the angriest, the ones who feel the most betrayed.

Her job wasn't to endorse Barack Obama, although she clearly did that. Her job wasn't to attack John McCain and the republicans, although she clearly did that.

Her job was to unite the party and move it forward.

Clearly, she did that. And she did it with class, with style, with grace and with power. Power, most of all, which is one of the reasons the male speech writers are having so much trouble giving her the kudos she deserves, because they are such wimps.

Obama does not need her endorsement of his character - he needs to do that himself. He needed her to unite the party.

    She did. Move forward.
