        Yes and it's not Sen Clinton's job - it's barry's and he's not at all interested in her voters. The ball is 100% in barry's court. He fails to reach out - he fails to win the presidency. HIs fault and his alone. Curious how barry offers to take President Clinton to dinner after he shows up to "unify the party".

        The Great Unifier? barry can't stand up to the Clinton's to become commander in chief - how are voters going to believe he can deal with that iranian hitler?

    Give me a break. Gerson's analysis is lame. Each of his points are mental leaps and stretches. What our Republican friend forget to make mention of was the most powerful moment of the speech, her impassioned use of Harriet Tubman's "Keep going" mantra for black slaves seeking freedom along the underground railroad before the Civil War. That these words about dogs hunting you down or slave masters tracking you in the forest with torches, are the words of a BLACK WOMAN, was the most brilliant moment in her speech, and one that must resonate with woman, blacks and almost all Democrats who remember their high school history class. Gerson's oversight of this moment is pure cultural blindness, or worse, deception.

    Why is you feel you have the right to refer to Sen Clinton as "Hillary"? Everyone else in your drivel is referred to properly. Says everything about the kind of cavemen you are.

    AND are you trying to get barry elected? You might want to wake up and realize attacking Senator Clinton does not further the cause. And you might want to remember that the same amount of democrats voted for them. Be creative and write something original instead of the usual Hilary bashing. It just reinforces why you don't write important words for anyone anymore.

    How much does Newsweek pay per words as opposed to Presidents Bush and Clinton?

    Both of you are frustrated has beens because this is the only way your words are seen anymore. And who takes anyone in Newsweek words seriously? Your words are the same old jealous unoriginal sexist drivel.

    And what do they say about you when you don't have another person to hide behind? How much courage does it take to get paid to belittle and criticize from behind the computer screen? Must be quite a demotion to have to comment on someone else's words instead of having your words spoken by a powerful politician. And it must be a humongous blow to your ego to have to make a living commenting on a women who is much more powerful and accomplished than you will ever be. Your envy of a certain male type is transparently obvious.

    Can't wait to read the rest of your sycophantic fawning. I'm sure you will write that barry's words should be recited by every school child. Are you has beens auditioning for a job? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why even barry hasn't chosen to use your words.

    And here's a clue of how insignificant your words: You didn't mention biden or what he should say about obama. And yet you spend paragraph after paragraph on demeaning Sen Clinton and waxing poetically about michelle and even mentioning the opponent and President Clinton. Kind of shows biden was just a quick add on to get some testosterone in the campaign and because of the conflict in Georgia. No way obama could fake that anymore. Everyone knows it was supposed to be Kaine.

    Great job! has-beens. None of your words are worthy of being repeated and most certainly they will never be remembered -- whereas Senator Clinton's most definitely will. Is that the revenge you spoke of mikey?

    Barack Obama had a close relationship with William Ayers (who is an admitted unapologetic terrorist of the Weather Underground back in the 60s who served on the Board in which Obama also served). And Michelle and Williams wife served in the same Law firm also. In fact, the Woods Funds Investments have included investments for this radical group:

    ACORN: This is a LIBERAL ACTIVIST GROUP, notorious for voter registration FRAUD and even paying for votes using crack cocaine.

    Operating in at least 38 states (as well as Canada and Mexico), ACORN pushes a highly partisan agenda, and its organizers are best understood as shock troops for the AFL-CIO and even the Democratic Party.

    ACORN and its affiliates have pulled some real stunts in recent years. In Ohio in 2004, a worker for one affiliate was given crack cocaine in exchange for fraudulent registrations that included underage voters, dead voters and pillars of the community named Mary Poppins, Dick Tracy and Jive Turkey.     ACORN is the group Obama was a community organizer for prior to his systematic trashing of all of his political opponents resulting in his ascension to his short career as a State and then U.S. Senator. ACORN has been convicted of hiring people to fraudulently register and then vote in several states via absentee ballot as many times as they wish.     Hillary and Michelle did GREAT! All the speeches were good tonight, but a standout for me was the Governor of Montana's - he was surprisinging strong and talked about McCain vs. Obama's energy policy, something dear to my heart. He got the crowd really strired up just before Hillary's video and Chelsea's intro.

    If we end up wtih McCain, the rest of the world sees this as the definitive decline of America's power and influence. We will sign our warrant to weakness and descent. It will be the end of America's era of greatness. Couple that bad decision with our dependence on world oil - we consume 25% of total world production and have only 3% of it in our country (this from the Montana Governor, who knows the oil biz since they are drilling in the Bakken formation in his state and in N. Dakota) - discovered or not!

    We have peaked out on oil in the USA since 1970, just like we will have peaked out on our country's geopower if we elect McCain in 2008..

    No way, no how, no McCain!

    With the advent of the Internet coupled with mass communications, the whole world gets an opportunity to witness U.S. politics at its best and at its worst.

    The incessant divisiveness that exists in the U.S. is on display before the whole world.

    ...while Russia is in the process of consolidating its influence throughout the world, and becoming its preeminent military Super Power.

    ...while China is in the process of the becoming the most stalwart economy in the world.

    ...while North Korea has reverted back to developing its Nuclear arsenal.

    ...while Pakistan tries to determine which leader will control its Nuclear weapons.

    ...while Oil rich countries are witnessing the United States' interminable dependency on oil, a national security issue.

    ...while disgruntled Clinton supporters and P.U.M.A. try to destroy the Democratic Party...and the Republican Party adds fuel to the fire...

    ...it is evident that the greatest threat to America's security exists, not outside its borders, but within them.

    Ahhhhh they taught her well. This is a couple that want the White House that it is hard to tell who really wants it most.

    However, we will end up being very, very grateful to those folks in the midwest who think for themselves and refuse to be lead blindly down the garden path chanting the empty mantra of "change."

    Change can be good, but on the other hand, the President's job is not the job for an inexperienced individual who thinks we are all stupid enough to follow his empty rhetoric of "change."

    Obama has spent the past two years with Axlerod, campaigning for a job they thought could be won with empty words fed to a stupid public.

    Mrs. Obama was on the Tom Joyner morning show yesterday, a black radio show. Tom said he had gotten a number of calls from black Hillary supporters who were praying for guidance on who to vote for. Mrs. Obama went through Obama's stance on several issues, kind of like a mini-stump speech. Not only did Mrs. Obama have nothing positive to say about Hillary or her supporters, she deliberately avoided using Hillary's name, she referred to her as "another candidate". This seemed hostile, jealous, arrogant, disrespectful, angry, and petty. That also made her speech last night seem phony and staged.

      To News and Notes: It is difficult to believe that any person would have to pray about who to vote for with the economy the way is ??? homes being foreclosures, jobs being shipped overseas, unsafe food and toys for children, health care only for the President ??? are these people better off now than they were eight years ago?
      God gave you a brain it is time to use that gift.
      The main reason for ???Change??? is the Constitution has been trampled over for the past eight years.

        I don't know, I didn't get the calls, Tom Joyner said he got numerous calls from black Hillary supporters. The transcript is probably still on blackamericanweb.com. I didn't take the calls, Tom Joyner said he did. Mrs. Obama's repsonse was, at best, dismissive. The constitution has been trampled on by a man with too much arrogance and not enough experience, GWB

    I didn't watch the DNC or Michelle's speech. Watching both of these are about as exciting as watching 2 flys mate. From the majority of the comments, I didn't miss anything. Michelle like her husband was well versed on what to say. It was not the radical Michelle we have come to know.

    As an African American, i am so greatful for someone like Senator Obama to come along and to help us when we need us most. Most African-Americans are in jail and it is just really an economic issue as all the data that arent done by racist people show! Obama can finally be the one to get us reparations for slavery and fix these money problems caused by those who built this country on our backs! Finally someone too stand fup for me and to face our oppresors!

        Please! I don't know this poster and their doings, but how can you say what blacks go through? Reparations--I don't know personally anyone looking for this, just not to be assumed a criminal first. My experience shows many whites ( certainly not all) tend to be oblivious to the drama ALL minorites go through at some point of their lives. You have enjoyed the luxury of never experiencing someone crossing the street because of the color of your skin. You probaly never felt the need to respond to nervous conversation at the ATM machine, the store selling raggedly clothes, or during the interview. Just stop it--if you don't like Obama, don't vote for him, but stop with the paranoid crap. Experience--Reagan made movies with chimpanzees but he was prez for 8 years.

    As I watched the convention, the epic spectacle of an African-American woman fulfilling her assigned duty of convincing European-Americans that her husband is a fit and competant candidate for this nation's highest office, I could not help but feel for her, to empathize with her on why it was even necessary to convince others of that which is so clearly evident. My greatest fear is that during this nation's greatest hour of need for a leader who is a visionary, who is capable of bringing something new to the table, capable of restoring confidence in a political system that is obviously broken, Americans of European extraction will rationalize to themselves that four more years of Republicans at the helm will not prove to be disastrous. My greatest fear is that Americans of European extraction will cut off their nose to spite their face. "The door is open for a genuine restoration of American health, not only in how we view the world, but, more importantly, in how it is that we are viewed by the world. Never before have we witnessed a nation change its image so swiftly from one who never strikes first, to one who is now seen as being totally reliant on its military to solve its problems rather than rational thought. A new day is indeed at hand and it seems that it is white America that is experiencing the most difficulty in accepting the fact that their "old" world of white supremecy is no more. However, there is hope as evinced by the fact that a multitude of whites are coming to grips with the fact that their antiquated mindset of colonial mentality is a dream in want of a dreamer. AJ
