I was planning on voting for Obama, but then i found out that he doesn't eat fried food, and i do, so i dont feel that he relates with me.
I was planning on voting for Obama, but then i heard he's a muslim from a Conservative tabloid-trash journalist, and that scares me, so i'm not going to vote for him.
I was going to vote for Obama, but he didnt pick Hillary as a VP candidate, and i voted for her during the primary, so i dont feel he respects me, so now i'm not going to vote for him.
I was planning on voting for Obama, but he has a extremely loose association with some guy who was a "terrorist" in the 60's, and i don't like terrorism, so now i dont think im going to vote for him.

Whats next? I was planning to vote for Obama, but he looks good wearing orange, and it doesn't look good with my complection? Get a freaking grip, get a clue, and get some prospective.

I voted for Gore and Kerry - don't blame me for Bush being in office.
As for Poppa Bush, I voted for Mondale.

Democrats have suddenly developed an interesting sense of morality. John Edwards has been banned from making a speech at the DemocraticConvention for having an affair and lying about it. Bill Clinton will be speaking in his place. and michelle's speech is so scripted that anyone could predict what was going to be said so much for being like you and me !! p.s. if they are like you and me then where the hell is my 4 million from last year ?

    • Posted By: m921 @ 08/26/2008 1:09:27 PM

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE REPUBLICANS BANNED ANYONE FROM SPEAKING AT THEIR CONVENTION WHO HAD AN AFFAIR. OF COURSE THERE COULD BE AN EXEMPTION IF YOU WERE A POW. AND THERE WOULD BE AN EXEMPTION IF YOU MARRIED THE PERSON YOU HAD THE AFFAIR WITH AND THAT UNION INCREASED YOUR NET WORTH TO MORE THAN $100 MILLION. THAT WAY JM COULD SPEAK.

    • Posted By: m921 @ 08/26/2008 10:09:15 AM

Do you think she would need a script to know how many houses she owns? All these speeched are scripted. As to morality, certainly Democrats have know monopoly on immoral behavior.

      • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 08/26/2008 10:55:12 AM

The house question was a set up -- it didn't matter what McCain answered, they just wanted some film of him being asked because they planned to misrepresent whatever he answered. "Houses" do not include condos, and "he" doesn't own all the houses the democrats attribute to him.

If you watch the video, it is clear that McCain was sharp enough to figure out that it was a "trick" question, mentioned the condos, then decided it was best to just follow up later because asking for clarification would have made it look like he was trying to hide something. This is typical Obama, setting up questions and taking whatever is said out of context (like the "fairytale" comment by Bill Clinton).

Here's a link to an interesting analysis of the way Obama tries to trick people into saying things, exposing a sophist's strategy and mentality, not a search for truth.

        • Posted By: max in fl @ 08/26/2008 11:12:37 AM

Do not start the Obama's team tricked him routine. McCain's camp has that covered. McCain had the public finance reform to a science and had Obama stand on the X. Obama ego has to be larger than life because politics will eat him alive if he were humble. They tried to say he is not tough enough, now they say he thinks he's the Chosen One. He can't satisfy everyone, but I respect that he's trying.

Some in the Clinton camp (I said some) say he is not trying enough to get their votes but know in their hearts that they wouldn't vote for him if he was the only name on the ballot. They just want another reason.to justify their position.

. . . you are so correct, willnotvoteobma, and to top it off the U.S.A. of unswayed FREE SPEECH has been suppressed to the point of this Presidential campaign as a whole (primaries and the GE) has resorted to the acts of the USSR of yore and CHINA and more. But all of the bias of the DNC and the MSM will DEFINITELY be reflected in the ultimate votes in the G.E. this fall for JM.

      • Posted By: coach740 @ 08/26/2008 10:01:08 AM

Hmmm! If you were giving a speech to millions would you leave any thing to chance. I think not, you would prepare. A script is the order of the day in that situation.

THE PROBLEM IS IF SHE SPEAKS THE TRUTH THEN HE WILL NOT WIN THE ELECTION !!! BECAUSE THEN EVERYONE WOULD KNOW WHAT THEY ARE ALL ABOUT ! Once again, the Democrats are in the process of behaving like children come convention time. Memeorandum captures a slew of stories on bickering between the Clinton and Obama camps.

This is neither new, nor unexpected. They will offer excuses for this - it''s the Clintons, a too close primary race, but none of their excuses can ring true. They are, for the most part, a party of children and became that by choice.

In national political terms, prospective nominee Barack Obama is most certainly the equivalent of a young child. His attractiveness is not so much a gravitas, or an earnest grasp of important domestic or international affairs - it is the wanderlust of the almost always emotionally immature Hollywood star, or starlet.

As if Hillary Clinton speaking from the floor as part of the New York delegation can really resolve the bitter differences of boys and girls accustomed to having their way on the play ground for all too long.

And if there''s anything the vast majority of Americans simply can''t tolerate, it''s a child who does not know how to behave, especially in public. Don''t be surprised if Democrats are spanked yet once again this year in their seemingly never ending quest to gain the White House. I''m afraid the National Park Service may need to add a playroom and a playground or two before that even becomes practical for them at this point.

    • Posted By: max in fl @ 08/26/2008 1:06:34 PM

Save it, It was a passionate race. McCan't is on the other end of the playground collecting money. He is crying out, come to me all distraught voters, HRC should have been on the ticket. McCan't be president just dousing the fire with gasoline.

Maybe McCain will put his money where his mouth is and put Clinton on the ticket. The plot thickens...Oh wait a minute, some Republican hate the Clintons even more than they do Obama.

I dunno Howard, i think blue collar got lost and gave in to bigotry. This election has nothing to do with the color of ones collar, but the color of ones skin. Americans have become a nation of haters, black, Mexican, oriental - doesn't matter as long as you hate some minority, you're mainstream.

Its amazing to read comments like the one posted by ssbn777.....Voters like ssbn777 is the exact fan base that Hilary took advantage of as well as George Bush. This is the voter base that just because they may make over minimum wage, live in a half class suburb and drive a 30,000 car that somehow you have been made to believe that you are not POOR in America. Just because you can afford some minor luxuries that doesnt make you too far from the welfare class of Americans. What the "working class" has been tricked into believing is that just because they live a comfortable life paycheck to paycheck that they are not poor.Bty average Joeneeds to think what will happen when the Republicans push all jobs abroad because that will make better profit for the companies that they own economy, and hell to top thus causing less jobs for the working class and turning them into the POOR of America. Dont vote Obama, Vote McCain because that will keep America right were we have been for the past few years. Under Republicans America is failing! We have a weak dollar, under-educated society, failing industrial it off women will continue not to have equal rights because McCain doesnt find that important either. Some are blinded by what it means to be American because all they can see is color, nothing has changed! And one final correction to ssbn777 more people of color are born and raised in "exotic countires" than white people! Jamaica, Bahamas, Haiwaii, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico...are all the ORIGINAL homes of people of color!! And if its so rare for blacks to receive an ivy league education then how did Obama come across a black woman that also attended Harvard? His wife isnt peddling beer for a living! Your racism is hidden but your comments will always show your true feelings. Vote McCain, because you are just like him......living in the past and in denial!

Did you forget that the damage was done under Democratic Congress? NAFTA was written by a Democrat, supported by the same neoliberal Democrats who back Obama, joined not by moderates of both parties, but by the Big Business Republicans, and signed into law by Clinton - a Democrat.

By the time Bush took office, manufacturing was virtually non-existent. And, you can personally thank Pelosi, Hoyer, Kennedy, Biden, Kerry, Dodd, Durbin and others joining with Lott, McConnell, and others who "put the screws" to the American worker.

A typical brainwashed Obama supporter you are cindoll.

  • Posted By: Sprachkundiger @ 08/26/2008 9:43:46 AM

I don't even need to read this article: the title alone raises my doubt about the insight of the "average" Democratic blue collar worker. McCain comes from a legacy of family military history(just what we DON'T need more of in America), lived in comfortable cirfcumstances, married a second rich wife; Obama was raised in unstable circumstances, lacked a father to be there for him, and raised himself to his present position. And blue collar workers WORRY about him?! Who are these people? They'd better open their eyes!

    • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 08/26/2008 9:48:32 AM

Baloney, Obama was raised by his affluent grandparents. His grandmother was a bank vice president. He was not "raised in unstable circumstances" and had a loving and responsible step-father and interested and involved grandfather. In spite of all this, he decided he needed to use cocaine to deal with his conflicted racial identity. He is still trying to deal with his internal racial identity conflict, and has imposed that conflict on the democratic party. We can't afford to let him divide our nation the way he has divided the democratic party.

"Race is an issue that I believe this nation cannot afford to ignore right now" -- Barack Obama

      • Posted By: max in fl @ 08/26/2008 10:33:39 AM

So he should take an Al Sharpton approach with a hint of Jesse Jackson or is it the other way around. He is the embodiment of what is wrong perceptually in America without saying a word. He as we try to ignore the color lines because we feel we should be past it by now. We forced to become savvy in hiding our prejudices ie Muslim, Ayers, Wright, or Hillary. As intelligent as he is, people some people think he is stupid...how? Any red blooded American would take a shot at being president. Would you wait to be the president of your company if you had the chance?

How dare he try to be president. He should let the establishment consume him first. He should wait until he is older. He should wait so we can actually get some dirt on him first so we can have a real reason not to elect him. The bottom line is if you like him, you like him.

        • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 08/26/2008 11:25:55 AM

He should follow the path Artur Davis is taking -- great man, who will be an outstanding candidate in the future.

        • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 08/26/2008 11:25:06 AM

If I thought my effort to become the head of the company might destroy the company, absolutely, I would wait.

But then I am more concerned about the company continuing than I am my position within the company.

We can't afford to let Obama divide our nation the way he has divided the democratic party.

  • Posted By: Spacer @ 08/26/2008 10:54:58 AM

pearsoncrz: The "fairytale" comment was taken totally out of context by the Obama campaign and used to portray Bill Clinton as a racist
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What your claiming is also a fair tale. There was a small number of people associated with Obama's camapaign that distorted Bill Clinton's comment, but the Obama campaign _never_ tried to portray Bill Clinton as a racist. There are always a few people with any campaign who say stupid things. Like Geraldine Ferroro, who really did make racist comments about Obama.

    • Posted By: Jill from Florida @ 08/26/2008 11:23:23 AM

      Race. Racist.
Obama and his supporters are not dealing with the Democrats now. It's time for all people of all color to accept the consequences of their own actions. The race card no longer works wonders. Stop looking at the color of someone's skin and look at their character.
It is Obama's character that was in question with the working class - who are known for their common sense. It's people like you who are the true racists. Time you learned to get along with all types of people.

    • Posted By: Jill from Florida @ 08/26/2008 11:09:48 AM

The economy downturn started when the neliberal (globalizationist) Democratic leaders joined the Big Business Republican leaders during the Carter, Reagan and Clinton administrations and gave tax incentives to manufacturing companies to relocate their plants OUTSIDE of the USA. By the time Bush took office the Mom & Pop's were already eliminated, manufacturing within the USA virtually non-existent, government spending and waste rampant, offshore drilling limited, and alternative and renewable energy research ended.

The people to blame for our economy are the same leaders of both parties in Congress today as those during the 70's, and 80's and 90's. That includes Biden, Pelosi, Hoyer, Durbin, Kennedy, Kerry, Dodd etc. The only change has been the POTUS. Obama is owned by the neoliberals for globalization and extremist environmentalists as Bush is owned by Oil and Big Business. They have the same objective. And the Democratic leaders have just become better liars to the masses.

Carter had Brzezinski as NSA who armed and funded the then Afghan Mujahideen led by the infamous Osama bin Laden, and is credited with starting the Islamic Fundamentalist Movement.

Obama has the same Brzezinski as his number one Foreign Relations Advisor.

Second term of Carter - absolutely no doubt.

Since Obama has a white mother too, we can not be racists.

For the uneducated Obama supporters, we ARE NOT looking AT his skin - we are looking at what is inside - THAT IS WHY WE ARE NOT VOTING FOR HIM.

Stop your clinging to guns and Bibles you clinging clingers. Repent. Repent. I teach you the Overman. Thus spoke Barry Zarathustra Obama.

  • Posted By: angela2008 @ 08/26/2008 10:28:50 AM

Obama still needs to explain his " cling to religion and guns" remark and many others- Obama needs to go to PA, FL, NV, ETC.- himself- a leader faces the challanges head-on and forthright- stop forcing Clinton and now Biden to go to these places for you- this is Obama's doing- he and his supporters need to stop blaming Clinton- Obama does seem to INTENTIONALLY have a disconnect with white and hispanic middle income and even upper middle income white and hispanic voters and of course blue collar workers- I don't get it- but he - yes, he himself needs to earn our votes - Clinton and Biden cannot do this for him- He needs to e xplain his remarks and himself- he must do it - not his wife, not Clinton, not Biden- and he should stop the obvious double talk about Clinton as VP- he never really considered her- we see it and he makes it worse by not being upfront about it- enough fluff- he seems to want to have nothing to do with Cinton, white, hispanic ,middle income , and blue collar voters- he needs to e xplain why- GET REAL- YOU CANNOT WIN WITHOUT ALL OF US!

  • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 08/26/2008 10:26:59 AM

It's not just blue collar workers, it's women too. How misogynist can Obama get?

"I actually think that maybe having an absent father meant also that you have a different relationship with your mother, and because you have to grow up faster, you feel like maybe you have to protect them a little bit more." -- Barack Obama

No wonder he is so dismissive of HRC. Apparently he feels that women need to be protected and can't do things on their own. Michelle certainly fit that role last night with the two little girls.

  • Posted By: jms58 @ 08/26/2008 12:37:49 AM

As a lifelong Democrat and Hillary supporter I have no intention of voting for either candidate because neither are qualified for the job. Neither man has ever managed anything. Obama is all talk but gives no plan of action , which is like Bush's war in Iraq. McCain can't be forgiven for his and Cindy's connection to the Keating scandle which cost so many their life savings. He only plans to stay the course of Bush.

    • Posted By: coach740 @ 08/26/2008 10:05:00 AM

Go to Obama.com and read the platform and his stance on the issues. Then tell me he is not qualified. He is as qualified as John Kennedy or Jimmy Carter were.

  • Posted By: Jill from Florida @ 08/26/2008 9:58:11 AM

Extremists on both parties have been responsible for our failing economy.

Under Carter, the neoliberal Democrats opened up unrestricted trade with Red China, and was supported by the far right Republicans For Big Business. As one of the last acts for the 96th Congress under Carter, the neoliberals and Big Business Republicans again joined forces to write the WIndfall Profits Tax of 1981. They phased out the coveted small business tax credit of Investment Tax Credit and did a major overhaul of revising the 1040 whereby average wage earners no longer could take any deductions unless they had a mortgage. This resulted in the largest actual tax increase for the middle class and started the demise of the working class. Mom & Pop's either closed their doors or were bought out by the Big Business. Manufacturing dramatically decreased because small businesses now had to chose between paying income tax or upgrading equipment. (And Uncle Sam is a nasty creditor.) Now, remember, this was done with a "globalization" Democratic President and Democratic party leaders for "globalization" and Republican Big Business leaders. Manufacturing plants started to move to other cheaper labor countries. Welfare was stepped up to appease the masses who directly and indirectly lost their jobs to the outflow of manufacturing plants.

Under Reagan, and a Democratic Congress controlled by the "globalization" and special interest leaders, the extremists of both parties joined forces again to stop funding for research and technology for alternative energy and renewable energy. Oil Companies and Big Business owned the Republican leaders. And, "Globalization" and Radical Environmentalists owned the Democratic leaders. Manufacturing companies were given "incentives" for relocating their plants outside the US under the World Wide Income tax loopholes. Welfare and welfare abuse was greatly increased to appease the additional masses of newly-unemployed.

Under Clinton and the neoliberal (globalization) and extremist environmentalist Democratic Congress leaders again joined forces with the Big Business Republicans, and wrote the disastrous NAFTA. Those leaders who supported and voted for NAFTA are the exact same leaders in Congress today (with the exception of Senator Byrd who is still against NAFTA). Pelosi, Hoyer, Biden, Kennedy, Durbin, Kerry, Baucus, Dodd, Harkin, Leahy, Murray, Cantwell supported and STILL support the elimination of manufacturing within the US. The same is for the Republican leaders - but they PUBLICLY state their support.

This country's economy and our growing debt is not just a result of the Bush Administration's tax cut and the Iraqi Invasion. It has been growing for decades. Until there is a new third party of moderates, or until the extremists in both parties are voted out, the working class of USA will continue to be the majority poor class.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING!!

Obama has no credentials. Michelle -- as much as she 'pleaded' and tried to act down-home demeanor, she was clearly out of her league in presence. People in the audience, which the media cameraman clearly staged, were driven to tears to see a black woman on stage in this position. That was 'racial pride', just as Hillary supporters feel 'female pride' when she takes the stand and veterans 'courage pride' when McCain gets up, etc., etc.
Michelle said nothing poignant, nor new about the credentials of her husband, just told over and over how 'nice' and 'caring' and 'hopeful' he always has been and will remain to be. And she was trying in her 20-minute pleading voice to show the world how 'nice' she thinks she is. That makes him PRESIDENT? Don't think so ...

    • Posted By: coach740 @ 08/26/2008 9:46:47 AM

You know, I think I saw white people crying and nodding as well as black. What Michelle said is not meant for only one race or gender. It is meant for all of us if you get over your anger and resentment and dare to believe in what our country can be again.
