jmd8888 (and anyone who thinks alike), to not care for everyone's life, young or old, makes you a hypocrite. How dare you suggest that unless someone is perfect their life has no meaning to you. I can gurantee that you even have some skeletons in your closet. SHAME TO YOU!!!

anyone that supports killing babies is worse than "not perfect" they are what is distroying this world

jmd8888---Please do not lump us together with bernier. Most votes are not cast for someone but against another. McCain may not be the best person for the job but scraping the bottom of the barrel for the opposing candidate is far from better. She is another one who cannot look passed Obama's skin color so thinks that all others cannot consider his other lack of qualifications for the presidency. It is also possible that she is so uninformed to the shennigans of the democratic party leaders that she would be lead around by her nose. I own my vote and noone especially the self-serving leaders of the democratic party are going to tell me what to do with my vote even tho I had been a loyal democrat for more than 40 years. If Pelosi, Brazile and the likes want to roll in the mud by supporting such a non-candidate as Obama they will not see me as a supporter of their party until the party itself returns to the party of the people. Just because they think we should come together to make change does not make the change positive. I know that many promote the low meaning of the PUMAs but it really stands for People United Means Action and was formed to counter-act the Obama supporters who spout the words of their "uniting" leader who cannot even unite his supporters. Uniting does not mean hate-bashing persons of their own party. And by the way giveobamaachance, you are quoting the Title of Hillary's book.

This is a staged event, just as the DNC (and the RNC for that matter) itself is a staged event. We are all witnessess and subjects of a virtually scientific conditioning and control machine known as the media. If the media reports it, it must be true. And what are the things that are reported most? Events that 'alarm' us and the fear that results is slowly, methodically conditioning us to forsake our freedoms and turn to the Government for help. I know, people like me, who are free thinkers, aka unconditioned as the govt. likes to label us, are small minded...conspiracy theorists...ooohhhh. Are there really only a few of us who see the slow transformation of power from the people, (We The People) to a total Police State? Its happening before our eyes and while more people are waking up, most are either completely ignorant to even the idea of the possibility, or even more ignorantly wait with gleeful anticipation for our society to be completely government dependant. Thomas Jefferson said ???A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both, and deserve neither.??? I dont advocate lawlessness but we have to recognize the astronomical increase in laws and, at best, questionable events serving to shape and condition us to betray the very thing that took centuries of exploration and bloodshed to accomplish... our Constitution. It is not negotiable. It should not be ammended due to "changing times". Freedom is freedom. Before you attempt to ignorantly throw stones and or debate this ideology, I want to offer you a source to educate yourself and make an intelligent argument. John Stewart Mill said "The only way in which a human being can make some approach to knowing the whole of a subject is by hearing what can be said about it by persons of every variety of opinion and studying all modes in which it can be looked at by every character of mind. No wise man ever acquired wisdom in any mode but this." Listen to Alan Watt at cutting through the matrix. He has hours of free listening through various interviews and I promise your questions of why things arent adding up socially, economically, politically, environmentally, and globally just might begin to come into focus.

Amen, brother. Unfortunately, though, we've been living in a Police State for some time now. It just happens to be a Police State ruled by an oligarchy. That would make us somewhere between a fascist state and an aristocracy. But democracy? Oh, we abandoned that great title long ago. Great quote by Jefferson, by the way. All too telling these days. But we do have a pathological need to feel safe. What's a little liberty or freedom in exchange for piece of mind and security? At the very least all those worried folks living in the country can rest easy that their buildings will never have an airplane flown into them.

honestly Obama is Black! We always said it and will continue saying it, There will not be a black president! I honestly am not voting this election... It is a pretty tough choice... I do not want Mccain and I forsure do not want Obama as our President... I feel if Obama becomes President, the blacks are just going to take over! The ghetto places such as Grand Ave so close to a nice area CocoWalk making it look so bad... We need to clear out all these ghetto looking places and make it a more decent place to live! I feel as if Obama becomes President things will not change! He is black afterall.... All blacks stick together... Not only that look at Martin Luther King Jr RIP he died because he was Black.... I dont know! All i know is that Im not voting this election....

    • Posted By: HavanaBaddog @ 08/28/2008 9:55:50 AM

You probably should vote for McCain anyway. At least you could be sure he'd be too old to run again. We would only hope that there would be some good choices in 12.

      • Posted By: IamCloudwalker @ 08/28/2008 10:20:07 AM

Yea, in 2012 we can have a person who wants to run the country, but she can't even keep her own husband from sleeping around. She can't manage her household and she wants to run the country. yippie

        • Posted By: InfinitelyDisgusted @ 08/28/2008 11:55:26 AM

Okay, how stupid are you? Are you trying to suggest that it is a woman's fault if her husband chooses to sleep around? Talk about blaming the victim. And why exactly do so many people look down on Hillary for Bill's past mistakes? She stood by her husband at a very difficult and painful time with dignity and grace and managed to save her marriage. If she had gotten a divorce, you would all be criticizing her for that. Also, I really don't understand how the same people that crucified Clinton for having an affair are now vetting a multiple adulterer for President. McCain admitted on CNN that he had multiple affairs in his first marriage, after his wife suffered through a horrible auto accident that changed her model appearance. He met and started courting his current wife while still married to and living with his first wife. Can you say: hypocrites?

Butterfly_05 are you serious---is this a Prank Post ---lmao. Well, lmao kind of, but it is actually sad if you are a real person with those thoughts. Even the white racists on here with their backwards views were able to put their skewed site into some sort of quasi-intellectual frame.

Your is just well, kind of Forest Gumpy for lack of a better analogy. Good luck with expanding your horizons.

Aaahh! the blacks! they're everywhere!! YOU'RE A DUMBASS

    • Posted By: mudpup @ 08/28/2008 10:00:17 AM

Butterfly, no disrespect intended, but that is one of the most ignorant comments I've read and a poor excuse for not voting. If you truly feel that way about Obama and the black community (and no, I am not black), then perhaps it's better that you don't vote. Do your homework, read up about the candidates, and make your choice. Don't make your choice based on the opinions of others or what you may or may not believe to be true.
With your logic, then whites should be running the entire show. That is not an America I've grown to love. The America I love accepts all who value freedom over tyrany, no matter what their ancestry.

Thank you Jkmoree. And for brutus, you are on the right track. But it goes much, much deeper than 'special interest.' I think a lot of people consider that to be simply a representative of a corporation, or industry, that has the financial resources to influence. And that is partially, and sometimes true. The thing not realized is that the heaviest hitters, those with the deepest pockets and lined with gold are not acting with the interest of this country. They do not represent American based businesses. They represent global powers who have a global agenda and America is on its way out. China has for years been groomed and they are onsidered by those in the highest echelons of power to be the ideal state. They are the role model for these elitists and that is the direction this country is headed in. Dont be so foolish as to not have the capacity to recognize the uncertain direction we are headed in. Listen to Alan Watt.

In my opinion this is a case of persons of questionable character in the wrong place at the wrong time. I would not put it passed the Obama group pushing for the drama. Did they not accuse Hillary Clinton of putting a hit out on Obama by bringing up Bobby Kennedy? We, Hillary supporters are accused of being drama queens but Michelle Obama's remarks and those of Obamabots reak of high drama. They see everyone as racists.

  • Posted By: Jkmoree @ 08/28/2008 11:26:49 AM

Well said sterilyzit....Some weeks ago I was reading the Declaration of Independence only to discover to my horror, that we have in essence become what we sought to free ourselves from. Government interference sanctioned and encouraged by the out of control media is ruining our democracy. Like you, I do not in any way sanction anarchy, but things are disproportionately out of control and unfortunately, most of us are too apathetic to even realize it is happening.

i appreciate your encouragement to lose the stereotypical associations that confirm rascism(soccermom78), but do you feel that way genuinely? or do you feel that way because you have achieved "success"?...why not state your comment without the accolades of who you are or what you do...as opposed to relying on the stereotype that a doctor, lawyer, etc. is an achievement - its as if you are validating your personal culture because of your ability to "rise above" - that idea in itself still smacks at the least of stereotype, if not racism...I'm not being critical, just wondering why we have to validate who we are separate from what we are - shouldnt they be the same?....black, white, yellow, success is not about abandoning the culture, its about the transparency of the culture - to exist in total, without any comparison, be it black/white or educated/uneducated, or anything else that by comparison, makes us feel "better" and therefore capable of looking down our noses at the "stereotype". Stereotype is not propagated by the opposite culture, it is the culture - and the sooner we allow for it to exist instead of excusing ourselves in an effort to "rise above" - onlt then will we honestly be comfortable with who we are, instead of harboring blame for our circumstance because of what someone else thinks...

blah, blah, blah, how dumb r u people? u really think ur vote matters? REALLY? wow, u r dumb. let's see, did Bush win the popular vote?...no. so go ahead waste ur time and vote but in the end whoever is in office has lobbyists lining his pockets to makae sure the special interest group gets what they want while the rest of us suffer. they are both crooks...until they stop taking money from lobbyists they are one in the same. its amazing to c u people all brainwashed into thinking u have some influence on what happens, or that the candidates are different. wake the fck up and realize that neither cares about YOU, just how they can make more money for the elite and themselves. but they sure got you idiots thinking they are different and that your vote matters...so go vote and feel like you mnade a difference, then in 4 years tell me how much better off you are not. when the lobbyists are out of the picture, then just maybe, we can have someone for the people, but until then u r wasting your time voting, but hey they make you feel like u r doing something...americans r so dumb

Soccer mom78, grow up! Our country has come a long way! Yes there will always be white people hating blacks, but I have news for you, it goes both ways, there are blacks that hate whites as well. The point is you cant elect a person based on his ethnic or minority back ground, becausde you feel bad and are trying to even the tide based on our past mistakes, or be politically correct. You are electing a person to run the most powerful country in the world. The House, (Senate & Congress) has the lowest rating in years, and guess what it has Democratic control. Now you bring in the most liberal Senator known, with what 2 years experience, and say here you go, give it a shot! Wake up! It is like handing over the CEO job of GE to a junior in college!! It is stupid! As a intelligent human being you should be able to understand in these times with issues of oil (which Pelosi and the House still have not voted on) yet over 80& of the US citizens want us to start drilling, possible war with Georgia & Russia, and other aspect that we need a little more experience. Give Obama a term or 2, see how he does he has plenty of time to make a run. Use your head, voting is like the stock market, you cant afford to get emotional, if you do, YOU LOOSE! What do you kow about him?

A poorly written story, and the headline on MSN (Did men plan to kill Obama)would indicate that all members of my gender planned to kill Obama. I'm far from being a big fan, but certainly mean no ill will toward him. Should the article include what women wanted to do to him?

It's like the rest of the story. Not all the facts have been mentioned in the article. I guess the writer was more interested in getting a story out than they were actually "reporting" the story.
