Comment: Its interesting that Most if not all assassins and would be assassins are republican. Maybe its because the republican platform is based on hate and fear.

I am an Illinois resident . Obama the Senator hasn't done anything for our state. He spouts pretty words and ideas but when it comes to action, zip.... I know America wants/yearns for a change, and I want that too. I only wish it was with someone with more substance/experience and a clear line of action.

Butterfly and anyone else who's still reading, Barack Obama is NOT black. Unless you accept the "one drop" theory. He is biracial. His mother was white. And I wish the news media would stop being an enabler of this mistake.

This so called plot is so bogus. the suspects look like they were taken from the cast of "Deliverence". It's just a ploy to invoke outrage from the liberal public . Another excuse to use the race card.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!! It's sad that alot of people may not vote because, they don't like either canidate. Our nation is lost, and the war on "Iraq" is senseless... More of our people lost for what? I do understand that we had to act. But, our troops have been in Iraq since Bush has been in office. If you ask me Bush has alot of hell in him. Being human, is to make mistakes. But, a president that watches its own country suffer and does nothing is stupid. I will pray for us all, the whole world, Jesus is in control. We can't handle another 8years like this. People are losing everthing, do to others greed. Love everyone despite their imperfections, but stand up for what is right....

Here's the bottom line ....no democracy can endure without an educated electorate. This was stated over 200 years ago. The vast majority of posts here are no more than parroting the party line. What do we really know.....Republicans against higher taxes and big government ... the truth: Bush I raised taxes, Bush II expands government. Bush takes us into Iraq with no plan for an endgame. Democrats favor the little guy: Clinton relaxes accounting procedures leading to Enron, WorldCom, predatory lending etc. The little man is wiped out. Clinton lets Obama go free, WTC is bombed the first time and plans made for second bombing. Democrats for the war (when popular opinion made it political suicide to vote against it). Then as it becomes more apparent that there was no exit strategy, they are against it. Both parties have failed miserably on energy and fiscal responsibility (yes this include Clinton as despite the "budget surplus, the deficit continued to rise). Both parties have failed miserably on the defense of this country (the invasion from the south).......yes I know this will lead to charges of racism but what else do you call a massive illegal movement of one country's population into another's territory with no intention of assimilating? The only thing missing are the traditional tools of war. So pick you idiot ......Obama or McCain.....you lose.

I beleive this threat is being taken to lightly .. i beleive any person messed up on drugs and carrying weapons is a threat to everyone ... i am going to vote for obama and i pray he wins and that this country starts to pull together again and overcome all these obstacles we face as a contry and individually .. people need to stop hating someone just because they are different from you ..these guys need to be punished and held in jail as long a s possible ..i think they were serious about harming obama and that would be a tragedy ...keep these jerks in jail ....

And what about those overloaded twisting of words in character assassination? Those talk-show hosts are all in it together. They try to mix up the emotive association of "love" and "proud" trying to assassinate Michelle Obama. Get it right; one can love a country but not be proud of it.
