    Although I am very happy that it looks as if we are finally going to have an African American as president of the United States for the very first time. I am personally very afraid for this man's life. We know what happened with Martin Luther King, Jr. I trully feel and kinda know in my heart that we are seriously putting this man and his family's (wife and children) lives on the line here. Oh, I'D LOVE TO SEE THIS COME TO PASS!!!! and will being overly happy when it does but I have felt like this from the beginning of this election. Thankfully, now in our time it is against the law to threaten someone of his stature regardless of the color of their skin....I wish Obama and his family a very safe and blessed election and presidency......GOOD LUCK OBAMA FAMILY.....

    I'm a white girl and forgive me for saying so but if those guys are the supreme race then its not saying much for humanity, how disgusting these people are, meth, guns zit faced ugly creatures and they call that supreme???     while Newsweek missed spellcheck - Assination instead of Assassination....it is high time folks learn when to use "your" and "You are/you're"!! It is 'you are' or 'you're' Newsweek.....not "your"! See this just too often...so had to comment!

      That would be great if I was a professional journalist working for a major publication, but I am sad to say I am not. My comment was not just based on the miss spelling, but it was in a caption by a professional, not just someone reading the news. By the way, it is not just this one but as a whole the editing of professionally published media has slipped in to the tank as a whole. I am also a professional and act as such. When I do write docs I use a proof reader because it is necessary and I am not a journalist. P.S. Thanks for the correction!

    I think if Obama is elected our President he will be killed. I dont think America is ready for a black President. I myself really like him and think he could make a difference in our world.     Obama says he is for change. Maybe that is why his "spiritual guides" for the past 20 years are a Priest that has a history of yelling death threats to store owners and a "Pastor" who is quoted, from pulpit, "God D@#& America" not God Bless America. NOW THAT IS CHANGE! I have NEVER seen anyone with this type of ANTI-AMERICAN GUIDANCE be nominated for President. If elected his Pastor WILL get his wish!!!

      Gee I am tired of being diplomatic this morning with all these folks talking out the sides of their necks.....so I will just say, shuddup already. geez.

      Bush has aligned himself with some pretty shady characters who ACTUALLY had real power. Anyway, don't throw out the baby with the bath water. What do you know about this pastor other than that tirade. This man has faults AND some very good things about him like everyone else.

    Democrats have suddenly developed an interesting sense of morality. John Edwards has been banned from making a speech at the DemocraticConvention for having an affair and lying about it. Bill Clinton will be speaking in his place. and michelle's speech is so scripted that anyone could predict what was going to be said so much for being like you and me !! p.s. if they are like you and me then where the hell is my 4 million from last year ?

      Michelle and Obama worked their way up through college and hard work to get where they are today, which is what we aspire to. That's the whole point, with so many strikes against them they were able to achieve what we call the American Dream of making their lives better for them selves and their children, but more than that they took it into their community and now to the country. What is the point of striving, to make do and look forward to more years of paycheck to paycheck? The opposition was the priveleged son of an Admiral and has no clue what we all go through on a day to day basis. I'd like 4 million too, but maybe I should work harder and write books too. Get a grip.

        I have no problem with the dream and the drive that Obama family inspired to achieve. But I have a problem with their "American Dream". It has been reported and proven that Obama has a problem with our National Anthem and our Flag. It is also known and reported in Denver (where I currently live), that he (and the party) rather move the homeless out of Denver to make it "more inviting??? to the media and the American public not to see this type of poverty. It is a known fact that the universal health care cost (based on the European plan that Obama is using) will add another tax that the American people will have to pay. If you do the numbers, it will be a 26.8 % tax per weekly paycheck (this is more than your SS, Med care, and current health insurance combined). I have a higher education degree (I am a rocket scientist from the farmlands of IL) and worked hard for it, - now I would like to have a President who is willing to acknowledge the country's pride, the country's poor and suffering, and the country's hard working class and not take it away from us. Just my thoughts.

    2008 - Is it really that year? Or are we still in the mind set of 1888? - Stop with the race issue...It is a color of your skin. It does not define who you are. That comes from inside and from what I am reading here alot of people need to take a good long hard look in the mirror...Is that what you are teaching your children?

I think the bigger question is, how exactly were some coked up drug peddelers going to even get close to any presidential candidate? This is just someone's idea of a good way to up readership.     I'm trying to relate to John McCain, I really am.
    Would some of you very intelligent, highly educated, introspective and compassionate Republicans care to help me find a reason, any reason, to relate to someone that would continue to promote the policies of an administration that has clearly divided and nearly destroyed our country? I knew you would! Here we go:

    How can I relate to a man whose family owns so much property that he can't remember how much they own and I don't own one house?
    How can I relate to a man that has such disdain for women that he'd call his own wife a "trollop" and a "***" when I wouldn't be writing this had it not been for my single mother of five, all of whom graduated high school attended college and managed to avoid prison, drug addiction and gangs thanks to her?
    How can I relate to a man that was neck deep in the S&L crisis of the mid-80s (remember his buddies? The Keating Five?)
    How can I relate to a man whose only adversity has been to spend five 1/2 years in the Hanoi Hilton due to his own incompetence (how many planes did he wreck and where did rank in his graduating class from the Academy?)
    How can I relate to a man that has such a level of international expertise that he can't distinquish a Sunni from a Shia, Iraq from Iran and would like to bomb a non-existent country into the stone ages all while going after Bin Ladin single-handedly and keeping our troops invovled in an extremist insurgency for the next 100 years?
    How can I relate to a man that preys on the fears and ignorance of the populace to attain his own twisted agenda and who would sooner engage a violent temperment towards those that disagree with him instead of seeking concilliatory discourse?

    Here's the best question of all:

    HOW CAN YOU RELATE TO THIS MAN???

      Thank you, Thank you! Add to that the fact that his wife committed criminal offenses when she was involved with an international charity organization. She was addicted to prescription drugs. The media didn't tell any of this while they were busy bashing Mrs. Obama. The only reason Cindy McCain didn't do prison time is because of family influence and money. I can't relate either!!
