I'm voting for neither. I'm voting for Nixon - at least he's a devil we're familiar with and he's dead, so he can't do anymore damage than what we're seeing, and may see, in our current situation. VOTE NIXON IN 2008!

"But I just thought is absurd that you would call blacks racist"

So you're saying that blacks can't be racist, or even if they are, it's ok because they aren't in a position to ACT on their racism?

Yeahhhh, ok, I'm going to need you to step back and go ahead and rethink that ridiculous statement you made there... if you could do that and then re-engage your brain at a later date... that'd be great...

  • Posted By: Doc65 @ 08/28/2008 9:07:42 AM

Apparently the American press and public suffer from a severe case of attention deficit disorder or a collective short term memory. These idiots were labelled by a member of the Colorado law enforcement community as "just meth heads, just knuckleheads"; two other individuals who were "just meth heads", Timothy McVeigh and Michael Fortier committed the worst act of domestic terrorism and killed 168 people...never, ever, underestimate the power and will of a psychotic fueled by methamphetamine...

    • Posted By: Astrozombie @ 08/28/2008 9:12:14 AM

Mc Veigh was never called that, but play off the ignorance of the average liberal Dem, is a good way to promote your propaganda.

      • Posted By: Doc65 @ 08/28/2008 9:21:17 AM

Begging your pardon, but what exactly do you mean by that? McVeigh and Fortier were both known to be users of methamphetamines...perhaps they weren't called that by the press but lets call something for what it is - a user of crank IS a meth head, regardless of who they might be...and as far as the idea of propaganda, the US public and press are notorious for their short-sightedness and short-term memory...
The whole issue, here in this forum and in the press, is lending itself far too easily to be used for political purposes. If these idiots voiced the fact that they were intending or had the intent to harm Obama (or anyone for that matter, regardless of race, political view or beliefs), they are of the same ilk as the idiots in the Great Sandbox overseas.
Also, it would be nice if you would clarify your statements befoer your post; fragmented sentences and ideas only muck up the discussion...

    centerio,
Your comments alone confirm that your views are racist and biased. All blacks do not expect government handouts, are on welfare and commit crime. So the fact that you have steroptyped all blacks tells me that you still have issues with blacks. My question for you is what makes McCain a stronger leader than Barack?

  • Posted By: ILresident123` @ 08/28/2008 9:15:17 AM

Anyone who backs Obama is definitely NOT familiar with the state of his home state, Illinois. We are in the worst shape we've ever been in. Obama has done NOTHING to help our state. As a matter of fact, he never votes on any issues! If you want the US to be in the same mess that IL is in, go ahead, vote Obama! As for me, I'm voting McCain!!!!

No doubt when the original report came out, Obama fans were gasping in shock and pointing to the similarities between JFK, etc. Now that more details have come out and it turns out that it was a mumbling from a meth freak coming down from his latest score the story doesn't seem to have the same symbolism. Comparing Obama to JFK is a joke. So far off the mark it's not even funny. Although, the comparison to Malcolm X is a little more in line. Radical, far far left, and media induced celebrity, yes, a closer match.

    • Posted By: BRM@ @ 08/28/2008 7:49:19 AM

Malcom X was more than a radical. Radical is not so bad when you consider the predicament a whole race of people, himself , his wife and children by racist ideologies and policies of OUR country at that time. Malcom X put fire where it was needed in that struggle.

If you want to reduce Malcom X to that then you might as well reduce JFK to a media created sensation as well. His term was cut way too short to warrant putting on such a pedestal. The IDEA of this man is greater than the sum of what his administration actually did. I still admire him mostly as a figure in history, but let's get down to hard core facts since you want to go there.

I take it you are a white person. Do you thank GOD that you arewhite. Do you consider it a luck of the draw. How ignorant you are. We will all be like dust in the wind some day. You bleed red and sh---t brown like everyone else. Get over yourself.

Do you actually think you will go to Heaven with such hatred in your words??? lol though

      • Posted By: HavanaBaddog @ 08/28/2008 9:05:07 AM

I have to assume the "hatred" you are referring to is the comment about the meth freak. Oh yes, I do hate meth freaks. As far as comparing Obama to JFK goes, in what stretch of anyone???s imagination does an abject opportunist like Obama have any comparison to a giant like JFK? JFK served his country bravely in WWII, won a PULITZER PRIZE in history for his book Profiles in Courage, and served more than 10 years in the House and Senate. Obama on the other hand has logged a TOTAL of 143 days of actual work in the Senate, never held an executive position of any kind, and has yet to personally author any legislation in Illinois or Washington. You know what. Malcolm X was a radical, plain and simple. His biggest failure was getting killed before he could change the course of radical Islam in the U.S., which in the end may have given them a serious voice in U.S. politics. Hatred, LOL.

For those of you who think the only thing about Barak is that he is BLACK, is nothing, and will do nothing, your ignorance is obvious; please learn to spell when posting! Some of the words you use aren't part of the English vocabulary, nothing elitist about that.

    • Posted By: Astrozombie @ 08/28/2008 9:10:33 AM

Great Idea, change the subject with pointing out spelling errors when you do not have anything good to say about Obama, or know anything good to say about Obama. Very propagandic, just like your candidate.

I type fast and I may have typos, but pointing out other peoples typos, is just a way of saying that I am politically inept and my comments have no merit, and that is why I do not.

  • Posted By: Doc65 @ 08/28/2008 9:03:59 AM

The comment made by one law enforcement officer to the effect of these are "just a couple of meth heads" is simply disingenuous. Apparently the American public's memory is so short that they have forgotten that two other "couple of meth heads", Timothy McVeigh and Michael Fortier, managed to kill 168 people in Oklahoma City...never underestimate the power of a psychotic fueled by drugs...

    To Beeobee,
What an idoit ! ! ! The Democrats came up with this plot? You have got to be kidding. These guys had guns, walkie talkies, bullet proof vests, etc. etc. Yea, we need another old fart in the white house to keep dragging this country in the toilet. I don't give a dam what color a man is, if he can get us back on track. I'm sick of you racist's. I'd rather take a chance on Obama than have another four years of the Republicans & their big money. ( And I "used" to be Rep.)

    Mad gramma

In answer to one of the comments posted. I have lived thru numerous presidents and I agree that this has been the worst. Middle class working stiffs have had no help with anything, They are the backbone to this country and whom ever gets the presidential election needs to remember that fact. HANDS DOWN WE NEED CHANGE, REAL CHANGE FOR THE WORKING CLASS PEOPLE NO MATTER THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN!!!!!

    • Posted By: adirondack_1 @ 08/28/2008 8:18:54 AM

The change needed is for the middle class to quit their dependance on credit to sustain a lifestyle they should match to their reality. Paying 24% over cost has destroyed far too many working class peoples ability to "get ahead". Try blaming congress for legislating budgets that do not jive with the fact we are at war and should either fund that as a priority and take a few sacrifices or just resign ourselves to suffering a growing worlwide movement to destroy democracy by every dictator or religious sect that has a bone to pick with western values. The two are directly related to the partisan promoted idea that we can have our cake and eat it too.

      • Posted By: BRM@ @ 08/28/2008 8:57:17 AM

adirondack--your view is only half sound, there are some middle class trying to live beyond their means, abusing credit and so forth, but there are many who are not AND CAN'T CATCH A BREAK.

Lets face it, we need a new or at least tweaked model other than the rabid Capitalism out here. We have sold our souls to the mighty dollar. The trickle down economic set-up is FALTERING. and GREED is a BAD MASTER.

    • Posted By: BRM@ @ 08/28/2008 8:21:53 AM

AGREED! The average middle class is SHRINKING rapidly and being SQUEEZED.Enough.

What's really sad and pathetic is how the democrats and republicans have become our two royal families. And the american public argues about which millionaire is best for the country. None of them could care less about the country . only power. The blacks look at the democrats and Obama as their savior. Look at what the democrats have "given," the black man ..... poverty, ghettos, welfare, crime, etc. The 20th century form of slavery .....you don't pick cotton, you just vote democrat. The republicans? Well remember the "Contract ?" You know....83% of americans wanted term limits .....didn't happen. Think about the things that most americans want ....neither party delivers....why? They BOTH want you dependent of them. My ancestor fought at Valley Forge........here we are again.

    • Posted By: fightinfreedumb @ 08/28/2008 8:52:06 AM

Americans who are tired of 8 years of hell see Obama as their "savior" as you put it. His campaign is not just about Blacks. Watch the convention tonight and you'll see who this campaign is about...Americans. Not just Black Americans.

  • Posted By: 4-RealConservative @ 08/28/2008 8:51:48 AM

I guess if the so called assassins were black it would be okay. I'm so sick of this racial crap. Just because someone doesn't like Obama does not mean it is because he is black. Maybe it's because of his views on morality issues. I don't agree with abortion or gay marriage, but I don't hate people who do those things or want anything bad to happen to them. If Obama was a white guy it wouldn't matter, I still would not vote for him. Race has nothing to do with it! If there were a Conservative Black, Asian, Indian, or Hispanic running for President that would be fine with me. The racism will never stop, especially when all people want to do is bring that up when others do not agree with them. You can dislike someone based on other issues you know! And you want to say people are racists, quit pointing at others and think about your comments- which to me are racists as well. Obama doesn't have what it takes, period. I don't hear anyone whining abour Hilary Clinton not getting the Democratic Nomination because she's a woman. It is the same so called racists that didn't vote for her that are not going to vote for Obama. Please complain about something else. There are always going to be racist people in this world that are full of hate, but don't think everyone who is not going to vote for Obama is a racists!!!

I am ashamed that in this day and age we still hold the color of someones skin above all else. Who cares what color the man is if he can do the job and turn this country around.

  • Posted By: center10 @ 08/28/2008 8:48:05 AM

Cute dr....but what was ignorant in my post(s)? Don't throw that out without justification. BTW, I flew with Reagan for 2 years aboard Marine One.

  • Posted By: no-american @ 08/28/2008 8:47:49 AM

    center10, you are exactly right!

  • Posted By: fightinfreedumb @ 08/28/2008 8:47:06 AM

adirondack so easily dismisses this incident as the mainstream media's attempt to "put Obama in the limelight." Newsflash: he's been in the limelight for the last 4 years, and the MSM didn't put him there...most recently, American voters did. I guess it never occurred to you that past assassins (James Earl Ray, Lee Harvey Oswald, Charles Guiteau, etc.) were not the brightest apples in the bunch. They were social rejects or as you call it, "trash that line the streets." Yours is this same attidude that caused us to miss opportunites to protect the people during the events of September 11, 2001 where we had information that terrorists would attack but dismissed it because we didn't believe those social rejects on a larger level (terrorists) could pull it off. Law enforcement did their job in this situation. They intercepted what could have been an assassination attempt on the nominee of a major political party during an election year. Explain why petty criminals/meth dealers would be armed with rifles, bullet-proof vests and radios during the convention. The press also did their job. This is an important election and when ANYTHING happens to either one of these candidates, it should be reported. One of these men (McCain or Obama) will be the next leader of our nation. Everything that they do or that happens to either one of them is newsworthy. Kudos to law enforcement and the press for doing their jobs. Once Barack Obama wins the presidency, I'm certain that he'll do his.

Plain and simple the post's here range from intelligent to just pure ridiculous, Center10 was simply stating that their is plenty of ignorance however he/she was leading by expample. Adirondack was right on point. Congress needs to be held accountable for the troubles we are in as well as the current administration trying to appease the other side of the aisle. We would be in a far better place if Reagan or a true conservative was in charge and actually leading by true conservative values small goverment and strong military and true fiscal responsibility.
