Treason is the reason, some, have never trusted the Bush Crime Syndicate.
Paleo-conservatives have always distrusted them. Fruit rarely falls far from the tree.

In the BBC Radio Document program, The Whitehouse Coup, John Buchanan suggests President Roosevelt stopped the investigation for a political deal: "The investigations mysteriously turned to vapor when it comes time to call them to testify. FDR's main interest was getting the New Deal passed, and so he struck a deal in which it was agreed that the plotters would walk free if Wall Street would back off of their opposition to the New Deal and let FDR do what he wanted". [45]
The 2007 BBC radio documentary The White House Coup said that Prescott Bush was connected with the plot.[45]
On July 23, 2007, the BBC Radio 4 series Document reported on the alleged Business Plot and the archives from the McCormack-Dickstein Committee hearings. The program mentioned Bush's directorship of the Hamburg-America Line, a company that the committee investigated for Nazi propaganda activities, and the alleged 1933 attempt, supposedly led by Gerald MacGuire, to stage a military coup against President Franklin D. Roosevelt aimed at forcing Roosevelt to resign (or, failing that, to assassinate him) and at installing a fascist dictatorship in the United States. [5]
Pedigree: Bush was born in Columbus, Ohio to Samuel Prescott Bush and Flora (Sheldon) Bush. Samuel Bush was a railroad executive, then a steel company president, and during World War I, also a federal government official in charge of coordination and assistance to major weapons contractors.
Bush attended the Douglas School in Columbus and then St. George's School in Newport, Rhode Island from 1908 to 1913. In 1913, he enrolled at Yale University, continuing a family legacy as part of the skull and bones society; four subsequent generations of Bushes have been Yale alumni. Prescott Bush was admitted to the Zeta Psi fraternity while at Yale and Skull and Bones secret society.

My Grandfather was a Klansman, but that doesn't mean any of his children or grandchildren are. One does NOT necessarily denote the other. I am not a Bush fan, but what his relatives did doesn't make HIM a criminal. It is his own actions that should define his role in history, not that of his ancestors..

Hillary was excellent and if Bill does half the job she did, it will further unite this party and make way for a real election and not leftover primary political whining.

Hey Newsweek you absolutely nailed it on this one. Thank God for CSpan2. MSNBC, ABC and CNN were so obnoxious that I finally surfed to CSpan2, watch the events as they unfolded, and then stuck around for reruns of earlier happenings during the day.

I couldn't agree more with this article. I was just saying to friends this morning that I've been watching on PBS because the talking heads are in the way of the convention. What ever happened to just listening to the speakers and commenting later? And when did 10:30 become "Primetime"?
I'm tired of the pundits. Let me make up my own mind. I could do it if they actually covered the convention instead of covered themselves.

      When did 10:30 become primetime?

      - When they decided to hold the convention in Denver which is a few timezones away from you..

I would like to make up my mind based on WHAT is said....not what the pundits are telling me was said. I can read between the line just like they can so LET me, Joe America, see it all. New reports and anchormen should be reporting the news NOT be the news. I have given up on mainstream t.v. for this very reason.

I was happy with CNN's internet feeds.

The pundits' hijacking of the convention events is merely one facet of the circus that elections have become in America. Voting for the president is one of the most important decisions we are called upon to make as citizens. So why are we expected to do it without clear, unfiltered information about who we're voting for? The media, with their overwhelming interest in ratings over true news reporting, and the campaigns with their spin doctors, have been complicit in taking away from us the ability to simply find out what the heck the candidates are all about! Add in the proliferation of new sources of information - and misinformation - like email, YouTube, etc. and you end up with an overwhelming mess. We are expected to sift through these mountains of nonsense in order to find the few rare nuggets of actual value, the FACTS, which will help guide us as we make our choices. It is a situation which is controlled completely by people who do what is in their own best interests, rather than providing the people of this country with what we most need at the time we most need it.

We are not stupid. We don't need the information to be pre-processed for us by anyone. We will examine what is in front of us and make up our own minds, if given the chance. Instead, we end up being spoon-fed and spoken down to like children, and it is insulting to the point of being intolerable. What is even more dangerous about this is the fact that people are getting used to this treatment, and we already see the results. We all know someone who forwards every rumor-filled email, who repeats what their favorite TV commentator said as if it's gospel, and who may be making their mind up on who to vote for based on partisan ads rather than on any real knowledge of the candidates' policies. How can we expect the government we deserve if we're making decisions based on the rhetoric, hearsay, exaggerations and outright lies spewed forth by the media and by the campaigns?

    p.s.

Chris Matthew is the pits. I'm glad he's been relegated to outside the convention hall. He is the pundit's pundit. The biases he has exude from his pores. He foams at the mouth while he tries to impress us with his wit. Witty he is not - a pundit's pundit he is. He has not journalistic integrity - I hope his day is numbered on MSNBC. I have a feeling that the U. S. is craving for a return to true journalistic integrity. The American public cannot trust the media - they have fully exposed themselves. We're on to you Chris Matthews, et als.

I agree. I've been watching on PBS because I'm so disappointed with the network news coverage. Move the talking heads out of the picture and let me actually hear and see what the speakers are saying! I want to make up my own mind about what's good and what's bad about the convention. I'm not able to do that if I have to listen to pundits regurgitate the previous speech and pick it apart. We can't get the full picture if we're not able to see it for ourselves. John Roberts, Wolf Blitzer, and all the rest should sit the heck down and shut up for a few minutes. They might actually be surprised that there's something to learn.

CNN and MSNBC coverage of the Democratic Convention has been a monumental dissapointment. Why don't the talking heads get out of the way and so the audience can listen to the speeches? What a travesity. I'm now watching the convention exclusively on C-Span. I think the networks have totally miscalculated the national interest in hearing the speeches at the convention. Tim Russert would be so ashamed of NBC/MSNBC.

I stayed with CSPN - can't take the arrogant opinionated talkers -not newscasters on either MSNBC or CNN. The whole situation is really getting out of hand. They're no better than Fox news - oops Fox talkers.

I have never seen so many unimportant, uninformed people who thought their verbose opinions were more important than giving us the opportunity to hear the speakers themselves! I, too, was flipping channels furiously to try to find one that would shut up and let me hear what the speakers were saying. I even had the radio on NPR which was broadcasting the actual speeches, thank God. To add insult to injury, the DNC media coverage at large was far more "Enquirer" gossip than responsible, intelligent journalism.

Amen! iwas so disgusted with the "coverage" and the talking heads trying to stri up what was not necessarily an issue. They eed to get out of the way! If the rest of the election is going to be covered this way I will ban them from my house.

BRAVO!!! Great article. I am so disappointed in the lack of coverage by CNN & MSNBC. You are so right, it is all about the pundits. The point of the convention is to allow Americans to watch and educate themselves, but if there's no coverage/opportunity, how does that happen? The first night I listened and listened and listened to only pundits. Last night I watched PBS, how refreshing! They actually televised those speaking at the convention. I was able to watch, listen and form my own opinions. I am SO tired of the debate regarding the Clintons, the media is spinning the bad feelings--let it go! America's issues are far greater than speculating if feelings are hurt or mended.

Jackpot! I wanted to hear the comments from all the speakers, regardless of how motivating or boring they may have been. They were selected because they had something to say. I want to hear it. I want to be informed so I can make the best choice when I vote, or make any decision that will affect my life and my children's future. Get out of the way and let us listen. Stop teling us what they might say or should say or just daid. Give us credit for the abilty to listen and make our own decisions. Get out of the way and let our Democratic process work. As for slamming McCain, it was refreshing to hear people talk about what they CAN do, rhather than being the bully on the playground. As the old saying goes "those who think they can, and those that think they can't, are both right"

Actually, Jeremy Carter, you sound a bit like a pundit yourself, "Potemkin" and "psychodrama" that's your hidden agenda. Not enlightening at all.

I really cannot listen to another pundit. Who really cares what they think? It's just their opinion and I personally can decide what I like about a candidate by just listening to them and then I make a decision. We don't need all these talking heads that think they know what's going on.
