    It is sad to see bigotry is firmly entrenched in all corners of the world. And America is no exception! The religious zealots even in this country are ready to become mass-murderers once given the chance to go medieval by a quirk of history. Lingering hate and hostilities created instant war criminals in places like Bosnia, Serbia, Cambodia and Rwanda within recent memory. I bet you there will be several entries on this discussion which will celebrate the Iragi bigotry killings! Don't fool yourself to think the stone ages have left this country. Maybe one day we will discuss the 'religious war' criminals from this nation's darkest corners.

        Liberal thinking is ok until it effects your life personally, isn't it?

        We have a tradition in the USA of eating turkey on Thanskgiving. What if PETA successfully pushed a law through the government banning the slaughter of turkeys in an attempt to slowly stop the eating of meat in the USA? This is an example of liberal thinking ruining tradition. It probably would never happen. But as small groups slowly get more and more of what they want, the majority of society is forced to abide by their rules, and at the same time be quiet about it or be labeled a monster or bigot.

        If that is what you think the "brains of the world" is, then I'd much rather be stupid.

        Yes, I applaud societies that stick to their traditions and not let them be changed by the squeaky wheels. We have given up far too much tradition in this country to appease small groups. Prayers and anything to do with God are banned in a lot of schools. Ten Commandments are being taken down all over the place. People want "In God We Trust" taken off money and out of court rooms and public buildings.

        People don't like what the confederate flag means to themselves and want it gone. Some people don't like calling it Christmas time and have made it into the "holiday season."

        American society has become too tolerant of every little liberal idea that comes along and will change tradition on a whim anytime someone claims they are offended.

        You really need to do a little research on Athiesm and what it has done in this world. I see you raddeling off on how great athiests are all the time here on these boards and to me you seem like a little child. I already replied to you explaining how communism was based on athiesm and how many millions have died because of athiest ideals with their courrupt State controlled "churches". Without God there's no right or wrong and we are at the mercy of our own governments. Would an animal rant back and forth on message boards like this? NO! We are spiritual beings with souls that go on after we die. Where will your soul go? That is the most important question you can ever ask yourself. There is no point in discussiong anything with you untill you look deep into your heart and actually want to find out the truth. Yes the word Liberal is a good word. It means progress. But when misled people with power turn progress into domination it becoms communism or a dictatorship. That's where some "liberals" in this country are heading.

      I agree. The one and only thing to say confidently about the Muslim religeon is that they don't waiver from the basics. In the U.S, if you won't like what your church is teaching you, you find a different church that you agree with. Maybe it's one located in an old Starbucks location, maybe it's one where the pastor rides in a Rolls limo and rips off the elderly or gullible. If you can't find a different church, you find a different Bible. Dozens have been written and interpreted in the name of God. But you don't change yourself to conform to it. No. Don't control yourself to conform to the oldest teachings. So form the Gay Church of Christ. Remember to bend over at the altar.

        A lot of those countries that do not define a child by being less than 18 yrs old are also those that draw a substantial income through the child prostitution trade or child labor. The have a financial interest in NOT defining what constitutes a child or passing laws that would protect a child's rights.

        Children are children are children. Some cultures force them to "grow up" sooner than they should. Many of those cultures force these children to "grow up" sexually sooner than they are granted adult rights by these same cultures(especially those that oppress women).

    I think it's sad that the persecution of anyone still happens. I'm married to a Muslim, but he certainly doesn't push his religion on me and I certainly do not push Catholism on him. It's the same with the gay community. Who cares? Let them live the way they want to live. They aren't bothering me or pushing me with their lifestyle and I won't push my lifestyle on them. No one is right or wrong with their sexual lifestyle. It's the way they choose to live as long as anyone involved is not forced. I'm definately never going to be gay, but I'm definately not going to persecute anyone for being gay. It's their choice, not mine.

    On this "force" subject, I think it's a double standard that it's ok to rape a gay, since you aren't the one being penetrated. If you commit the act on someone of your own gender, you are gay or bisexual as well. Plain and simple.

    There are lots of articles being written about others who are killed in Iraq. These people are being targeted because of their sexual orientation. Reporting on 430 murders doesn't seem sensationalist to me - it's called reporting the truth.

      Why are Muslims and Gays less worthy of a voice. Christians are not the only ones persecuted. Should the media only care about one perticular group. And isn't not the same excuse Christians use to break other nations laws, persecute and opress and even kill poeple because they are spreading the word of God?           What killings are you talking about? the killing of Muslims by Christians? the killing of Homosexuals by Christians? the killings of Homosexuals by Muslims? The killing of Hindus by Christians? The killing of Women by Muslim? I could go on like this many religious people see it fit to kill of anyone that deffers from their views. No one claimed that the killing of Christians was not happening or that the are only happening in a book. I did read the article that you mentioned. It is just as sad as this story where humans are killing for their beliefs. There are probably more instances of Christians being killed around the world that we will never know about. The only reason that we are made aware of the killing of Homosexuals in Muslim countries is because there are juornalist in Iraq and Afganistan due to the war. Please explain why the news media would report on the imaginary opresion of the Majority. Over 80% of the US population consider themselves Christians. How can the Majority of the population be opress by the Minority? Throughout the world the Major religion is Christianity. Other religions and groups like Homosexuals are persecuted by Christians. Even in the US, Muslims, Homosexuals and other religions are persecuted by Christians, yet Christians still claim to be persecuted. Why? Because other groups and religions ask for the same rights that is theirs to claim under the constitution. Because Christians want a country that is run like those like the Muslim countries. Christians want to take away the rights of other that do not follow their ways like Homosexuals. By the way the only way Hindus spread peace is by not forcing their religion on others. Hindus are not going door to door trying to convert others to their religion, they do not condem to Hell does that do not follow their religion. What is liberal media? I was under the impresion that journolist were suppost to report the events of the world. I have notice that some orginizations focus on some groups more than others. There are several magazines with focus on only Christian news and their editors are always claiming that the are fighting to have their vocies heard. Conservitives have their own priorities as well.

    I believe in one god, Jehovah. If you know the bible, you know how Jehovah felt about this situation. All will be judged in the end of days. You choose how you are to be. Everyone will answer to Jehovah in the end. I have no hatred and would never judge anyone. I was taught by my late father to love and respect everyone. No matter what happens. It is very sad that these people were murdered. The people who commited the murders will be judged. We are all one, but we are not the same. From the beginning of time. Christians hold that Jesus you lord rose from the dead after three days from when he was cruxifiade, so your lord has already resurected. Unless you are God you cannot know for sure who will burn in Hell because only God can pass judgement on humans, which is another of your religion's teachings.             Why the hell can't the illegals fix their own country so they can make a living on the other side of the border? If some of them are such great business owners surely they can do something to make a change. EVERY 4 YEARS, Washington and the USA are broken and need change. Well Mexico is the one that's really broken and needs to be fixed. That's how we control immigration - make them want to stay. At least they aren't killing gays - to stay on the gay topic.

      No, but I can imagine how hypocritical you are. The continent of Africa doesn't require nearly the amount of resources that the US needs to sustain itself. They have fewer highways, less industry, usually more condensed housing, and the list goes on. It can change in the way that China is changing. If you think we are bad, China has little environmental controls. Much like the USA in the ealy 20th century and the industrial revolution. So sell your home or get a smaller apartment that used no resources in its construction. Sell your car and ride a bike. Don't you dare fly. You bike from New York to LA if you want to go somewhere. Open your eyes. Petroleum and carbon footprints are all all around you regardless of when it was made. It starts with you. And what's this got to do with gays and Iraq?

          No, smarts to your emotional crap. You discredit and underestimate potential of the continent of Africa. No US official has threatened to nuke them if we don't get what we want. If we supply guns to destabilize governments and raise rebel armies, we should stop that. I don't think a lot of that goes on. Resources are offered on the open market for trade, that's why there are exchanges. The US tried to help some countries in Africa to stabilize their governments with disastrous results. You can't have much progress when a new government comes to power every other month. Stealing of resources would involve the US forcibly taking natural resources from them. Of course everyone knows that Africa is a source for gems, and those are "stolen" by deBeers, a European company. But one of its countries is the only source of the material for a tantalum electronic component that makes your Ipod possible. My point is, African countries need their own houses in order before they can begin to prosper.

    This is so sad. Just another example of what our troops are fighting for in Iraq....freedom.
    These poor men/boys should be given asylum in the U.S. where they can live and not be oppressed by their government and others. We have freedom here and we are trying to bring it to Iraq as well. God Bless our troops. I don't condone homosexuality. But if we could just bring these gay men here to the U.S., their lives would not be in danger and we could show them God's love and I know they would choose the straight path.
    And only a government as whacked as Saddam Hussein's would think of a "don't ask, don't tell" policy....whoever heard of such a crazy idea. Thank god we took that dictator out !
