Guess what people, Sen Obama does not need to be endorsed by the Clintons in order to lead the party and become the next president of the U.S. Part one has ALREADY happened and part two is showing in November despite what you, Rush, Ann, and Sean think and say. He will do it as he always has, by working hard, bringing hope to the people of this country, and remembering that he works for all of us, not just the wealthy and connected. But you keep hope alive and continue to rant and rave about false messiahs. Let us restore this nation to it's position as the leader and example for the rest of the world. Hell, we'll even let you share in the bounty of an Obama administration.

    • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 08/27/2008 6:13:22 PM

He works for himself - just like most politicians. He wants to "restore" our country into what it has never been - a socialist state. No thank you. Our country did not become a powerful leader in the world by giving in to what the rest of the world wants.... we got this way through power, ingenutiy and our own will.

      • Posted By: loriw @ 08/28/2008 12:39:27 AM

Obama is the epitome of politician...he tells us exactly what he thinks we want to hear and not what he actually believes. He has his own agenda.
When in IN he told us we were bitter and cling to our guns and religion. Then he goes on the Warren forum and tells us what a good Christian he is. He actually had the AUDACITY to quote scripture about "wahtever you do for the least" while he votes to allow infants to die and allows his brother to live in abject poverty. His Chritianity only applies to those who can VOTE for him.

RetiredMarine....in case you haven't noticed we are not so powerful of a leader and for the last 8 years we have been borrowing money from China. We need a strong leader, not a senile one.

    PROFILE OF A LOSER
Obama scams Clinton out of the nomination (not vetted until after the first 9 primaries), dumps her as VP, and then turns the responsibility of uniting the party over to her at Denver. I'd say he's a shallow prick.

    • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/27/2008 6:14:52 PM

Mr. Obama won the nomination with a comeback from over 40% down, Ms. Clinton opened her mouth and lied about a number of verifiable incidences, Mr. Clinton completely lost his mind in disdain and anger. Obama could not, in any context have Ms. Clinton as a running mate, no more than she could have had him as hers. Unity is by choice. If you choose to be the last word you used. So be it. But don't try the 1) victim extortion, 2) love me or I won't vote Dem, 3) you had better respect me and validate my pain, 4) I'm going to wait until 2012 and not vote for him - just in case I'm wrong and he is a good president - BS. Again. Unity is a choice. If you don't want to, don't talk about how we are not united.

      • Posted By: loriw @ 08/28/2008 12:32:16 AM

And besides that... Michelle would not have let him...

    • Posted By: Richard1327 @ 08/27/2008 5:48:04 PM

You are correct. Some people have no intuition about other people or are unable to "read" other people. Those people voted for George Bush and now they'll vote for Obama and "WHAT HAPPENED, THEY SEEMED SO NICE AND PRESIDENTIAL?"

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard. H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.
      George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950)

      • Posted By: Keepinguponfacts123 @ 08/27/2008 7:11:35 PM

I did not vote for George W. Bush either time. But I will be voting for Barack H. Obama. And by the way I have great intuitiion. Maybe perhaps it is you that can "read" people.

        • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/27/2008 8:33:02 PM

Well, you do stay the course don't you? You have picked a loser 12 yrs in a row.

    • Posted By: josemarti @ 08/27/2008 6:01:38 PM

How can he unite the party if the Clintons won't let him? Answer that smarty pants.

      • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 08/27/2008 6:10:08 PM

Typical of brainwashed Obama followers, don't accept responsibility - keep blaming everyone else for your failures.......

If he actually were the great uniter, he would be able to do so without crying and blaming the Clintons... He claims to be the unifier but seems to expect others to do the work for him. If he can't put up, he should shut up.

        • Posted By: Richard1327 @ 08/27/2008 6:22:26 PM

Since when is it the second place candidate's job to unite the party - it's never happned before so why is Obama expecting it? Ted Kennedy didn't do it for Jimmy Carter. Obama already stinks on ice.

          • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/27/2008 7:04:31 PM

Because HE is better then all presidents of past. Notice he doesn't look like any of the other presidents on the dollar bills? LMAO

          • Posted By: Keepinguponfacts123 @ 08/27/2008 7:04:11 PM

Hillary needs to let go of the past, so to speak. Not exactly unite the party. She and her followers need to pass need to move on. That is why SHE needs to unite the party. It is only in this instance that she needs to do this.

  • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/27/2008 7:08:37 PM

    Hilary supporters,
Obama didn't need your vote until now. Don't fall for the plea's for your vote now that it's convenient for him.
Do Hilary a favor, prove her 100% correct. That Obama is not electable and teach the DNC a lesson for shyting all over her. If they actually cared about winning the election they wouldn't have screwed over the sure shot candidate anyway. The Dems do not want the responsibility of accountability. Do them a favor, vote McCain into office so it will be easier to blame everyone else for their 9% approval rating and failures.

    Did you see her?

Do they just want to lose again?

This is not the Democratic Party I know.
Hillary Clinton is an unparralelled stateswoman, patriot and will be a legendary President some day.

Almost an embrace: By the end of the address, Michelle Obama was smiling broadly and applauding generously as it became clear that Clinton had climbed aboard the Obama campaign train.

Obama, who is slowly working his way westward along the campaign trail in a series of toss-up states, watched Clinton from the home of a family in Billings, Mont., and later called both Clintons, thanking them for their backing.

"She did a great job. I think she made the case for why we're going to be unified in November and why we're going to win this election. She was outstanding," Obama said.

Obama is a pay to play Chicago politician who expects votes to be delivered instead of trying to earn them for himself. Here's an Obama Tale for you about how politicians in Chicago deliver votes for their overlords. In a campaign influenced by Walmart, instead of backing the pro-labor candidate, Obama backed a "Walmart tool."

There was little surprising about Obama's endorsement given his self-interested allegiances to the politically powerful City Hall regime of Chicago's Mayor Daley, with whom Obama shares the same big money campaign super-consultant (David Axlerod) and numerous big money sponsors.

For the first time Mayor Daley had vetoed an ordinance by his normally obedient City Council, and he did not want the council to bring the measure up again. It was originally passed by the council under pressure from a remarkable grassroots campaign, and would have required giant retail corporations like Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes, and Home Depot to pay workers a modest minimum wage of ten dollars an hour by 2010.

Wal-Mart and Target announced that they were putting a number of "big box" retail developments on hold in Chicago, and launched a preemptive public relations strike, threatening to disinvest in the city unless a "favorable business climate" was restored. Daley made a special point of wrapping his veto in the flag of racial justice, claiming it was required to permit the flowering of economic development in the city's abandoned ghetto neighborhoods.

Pat Dowell, the recipient of significant support from the Service Employees' International Union (SEIU), was running against Tillman, and Dowell had strongly criticized Tillman for siding with Daley and Wal-Mart.

Obama needed the support of the powerful campaign finance magnet Daley, and endorsed Tillman, over labor-backed Dowell.

Obama's wife Michelle then received $51,200 in 2006 for attending a few board meetings of TreeHouse Foods, a giant firm that relied heavily on its close business relationship with Wal-Mart. The granting of high-pay/do-little board posts to the spouses of politicians is a longstanding tool of the "old," corporate-dominated politics that Senator Obama claims to reject.

Mrs. Obama resigned from her position with TreeHouse in the summer of 2007, citing "increased demands on her time" in connection with her husband's presidential campaign.

After reading so many of these comments, it is obvious that the democratic party is doing McCain's work for him. McCain won't have to run on the issues, he won't have to prove he is mentally capable, he won't have to do a thing except sit back and watch the democrats rip themselves apart.

To Obama's supporters - it is not Hilary's job to make the party endorse Barack, it is Barack's job to win the party over with his invitation. She did exactly what she was supposed to do - endorse him for president and pledge her support. Bashing Hilary does not diminsh Hilary, it diminishes Barack.

To Clinton's supporters - She lost. If you want her issues to have a voice you will need to vote for Obama, it is that simple. McCain WILL NOT champion Hilary's causes. Bashing Barack does not diminshe Barack, it diminshes Hilary.

Do we wish Hilary had less baggage? Yes.
Do we wish Barack had more experience? Yes.

Do they both represent the ideals of the Democratic Party? Yes, yes and yes.

They aren't ideal candidates, either of them. Admit it, swallow it, and move forward.

To all democrats - if you don't endorse the DEMOCRATIC PARTY, the republicans will win in November.

      Your choice.

And it came to pass that the national anthem was played and the ONE placed his hands over the wrong place. Some wanted to stone him, but his followers rose up and said "ye who have not fondled yourself, cast the first stone". Thus he was spared and he traveled the land, speaking to the crowds while often raising his head heavenward, as tho getting cues. And yea tho he walketh in the shadow of Wright, his charisma is great, and he plodeth on to achieve stardom. Then came a great gathering of the faithful in the west, and lo and behold, the appointed ONE came forth from the Greek temple, saying "A light will shine down... from somewhere. It will light upon you. You will experience an epiphany... ". The crowd rejoiced and awaited the blessed event, and waited, and waited, and waited, and.......

blinders on -- clearly an obama supporter trying to make peace with HRC fans now that they will get their young cool black presidential candidate nominated

Reminds me of eight year olds who wheedle and whine and pout and get their friends to say bad things about their opponent until they get to be in charge of the class, permanent line leader, and then act all sweet and nice because they got their way, even if they created a rift in the interpersonal dynamics of the classroom that will continue to cause problems for the rest of the year.

Senator Obama once again commented on the spread of Clinging to Guns and Bibles syndrome (CGBS). "I don't know what causes CGBS. I have heard several theories including that it is the result of a virus developed by the CIA. However, this is not likely for reasons I'd rather not go into. The fact is that as we look for answers, we have to try to prevent its further spread. I have asked some of my closest supporters to remove Gideon Bibles from their hotel chains and replace them with copies of Of Mice and Men. I hope that this will at least slow down the spread of CGBS."

  • Posted By: Richard1327 @ 08/27/2008 5:11:23 PM

Obama would have never been able to deliver a speech like Hillary did if the situation was reversed. By the way, Hillary talked more about the issues and solutions during her 23 minute speech than Obama has on the campaign trail in the last 90 days. Just hope no one is surprised when Obama is only able to tread water for 4 years and ends up a one term waste of time.

Sorry for the multiple post, something seems to be wrong with the web today -- I can usually tell when that happens

btw, I agree, should be Hillary Regina. That fact that Newsweak calls itself a journalistic periodical is laughable. Perhaps it was intentional, however, perhaps they were trying to subliminally connect her with the dinosaur, just one more swipe, one last cut, to nail the coffin. You don't think they are worried about the roll call do you?.

    DON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN
    -The Who

I hope THIS is the campaign message that leaves Denver and echoes from sea to shining sea.

Let's hope the DNC blasts that song loud and clear on Thursday night !
Hopefully, this will be my contribution to this campaign

(If you like this theme, pass the ammo! )

    • Posted By: C. MacLean @ 08/27/2008 4:23:28 PM

Even more important than "don't get fooled again" is the last line of the song, and it completely apples to McCain -

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

Schweitzer was great, Hilary was awesome, and we still have two more days. Republican ass will be kicked, have no doubt.

Don't forget, the best orators in the party, Bill and Barack, still haven't spoken.

The whole world will know it when they do.

    • Posted By: jms421 @ 08/27/2008 3:13:36 PM

I'm pretty confident they have a theme already. I would assume it will be a little more positive since that was lacking last night about Obama. I don't think negative is working for you guys all that well.

The winner will be Hillary, if we all vote McCain in November! What can an inexperience Junior Senator do at the Presidency? Look for hidden agenda that will sell out all of us and make Bush look like a Choirboy!!! Barrak is looking like Michael Bolts after the race in the Olympic. With the Russian front looming, Obama will lead us to the biggest downfall in world history!!! It's time to be heard and not follow in "PROMISED CHANGES" that will never work. Remember, you heard it here first!
On the OX year (2009), Obama (an Ox), will lead us into turmoil in which we had never experienced before. This is the fate we will have should he be elected!!!

I'm thrilled that Senator Clinton honored the suffragettes, including Harriet Tubman, who was as ardently involved in the suffrage struggle as she was in the Underground Railroad.

Thanks to the success of Harriet Tubman and other amazing suffragettes, women now have voices and choices!

We can elect a great candidate like Obama.
But most people are totally in the dark about HOW the suffragettes won, and what life was REALLY like for women before they did.

"The Privilege of Voting" is a new free e-mail series that follows eight great women from 1912 - 1920 to reveal ALL that happened to set the stage for women to win the vote.

This is no boring history report. It's a real-life soap opera!

Two beautiful and extremely powerful suffragettes -- Alice Paul and Emmeline Pankhurst are featured, along with Edith Wharton, Isadora Duncan, Alice Roosevelt and two gorgeous presidential mistresses.

There are tons of heartache for these heroines on the rocky road to the ballot box, but in the end, they WIN!

Exciting, sequential 10-minute e-mail episodes are perfect for coffeebreaks, or anytime.

    JEREMY

"be making no decisions tonight" even though she'd been mathematically eliminated from the race"

Senator Clinton is not mathematically or in any way eliminated from the race not until that roll call is made. If she were, Obama would have been the nominee and not the presumptive nominee.

And do you know Senator Clinton personally? Are you a senator? Are you a journalist of any sort? If so, you would know that it is improper and unprofessional for you to refer to her only by "Hillary" or even as Mrs Clinton. By referring to Senator Clinton as such it reveals a great deal about your unspoken words.

    • Posted By: jms421 @ 08/27/2008 3:31:29 PM

She gave out signs and asked people to chant "Hillary". I think it's OK. I believe the states are foregoing roll call.
