Back on November 22, 2005, Michelle & Barack Obama gave a speech at the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations about the Bush administration claims that Iraq wanted to acquire yellowcake uranium for use with nuclear weapons.

???The President told the American people about Iraqi attempts to acquire yellow cake during the State of the Union. The Vice-President made statements on national television expressing certainty about Iraq???s nuclear weapons programs. Secretary Rice used the words ???mushroom cloud??? over and over again.

We know now that even at the time these unequivocal statements were made, intelligence assessments existed that contradicted these claims. Analysis from the CIA and State Department was summarily dismissed when it did not help the Administration make the case for war.??? Well, it???s been a week since the AP broke the news, ???US removes uranium from Iraq,??? but I can???t seem to find a mea culpa from Obama in the media. According to the AP story???


???The removal of 550 metric tons of ???yellowcake??? - the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment - was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam???s nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.???


Pretty significant in light of Obama???s comment back then. If Michelle & Barack would simply admit they were wrong, that would be some change I could believe in.

Great, yet another liberal driven agenda from newsweek. How can someone like Obama be "from earth" when he has no experience???? You talk about flexing military muscle, blah blah blah.... how do you think the US came into being a superpower? There will be a new national Anthem to include Black nationalism.
Maybe a new Flag, new coins, currency.
All Americans travelling overseas, will be required to know a second

Flag is banned as it may offend certain religion like Islam.

CNN and MSNBC will play 24 hours of only positive news on Obama. Fox
news is shut down. No criticism allowed.
Patriotism, Pin Wearing and waving the American Flag will be a thing
of the Past. Obama surrenders the sovereignty of this country to the
U.N. Obama will visit Iran, Cuba, North Korea etc to beg their
forgiveness for the so called crimes that past US Administration

J Wright, Farakahan, Ayers,the Chicago mob, all will have high
important post advising Obama and policy matters must get their seal
of approval.
Billions and Trillions of our Tax money will be given to third world
countries to buy their love and forgiveness for us. Remember, in

Reasoned discussions seem to escape the media since it takes longer than 30 seconds to make a point. regardless of who you think will lead best, we need to pick our leader based on their vision, not on their sound bites.

Bush was (and still is) totally boorish when it comes to foreign policy. His vocabulary doesn't seem to include the word "diplomacy" -- plus it has more than two syllables so it's too hard to pronounce.

Here is what I think about McCain's choice of Palin, summed up by a reader's comment in the Washington Post today:

Sarah Palin is in no way, shape or form anything of the stature and experience of Hillary Clinton. Most of her supporters will gladly vote for the Obama-Biden ticket. A formidable team, with complementary skills and capabilities, who inspire courage, optimism and respect around the world.

Contrast that with a 72-year-old man whose health is not robust, coupled with a 44-year old church lady with five kids and ZERO overseas travel, no foreign policy credentials. Guess who will be calling all the shots? McCain!

We will be the laughing stock among our enemies - easy target for picking off our president and allowing a totally shallow, inexperienced church lady to become our President.

Obama said "the idea that we are responsible for OURSELVES, but that we also rise and fall as one nation" but also said "we rise and fall as one nation" and descibed it as blending "individual responsibility and mutual responsibility." So you have to do what you can for yourself, but that you also have to do it for OTHERS.

But if EVERYBODY were to adhere to the first part, there would be no need for the second!
