Comment: n a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide the largest morgage bank in the world,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 wall street firms. Also, Fanny and Freddy Mae which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States.
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. If they didn't the entire financially system would virtually shut down, the stock market would crash and we would suffer beyond what any of us have seen before.

McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.

Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He either didn't care or didn't realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime.
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a tanking economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?

The chairman of McCains campaign recently said that people don't vote on issues they vote on a personality composite. Which means he is trying to sell you personality instead of results.

He believes people will vote against their own interests.

Let's teach him we are smarter than that .

    Elect Obama Biden 2008

    Comment:

Sarah Palin is a fraud. She was pregnant before she got married, has had an affair with one of her husband's friends, her 19 year old son is rumored to have serious drug problems, her 17 year old unwed daughter is pregnant, and she has used her political power to get even with people who disagree with her, yet all she talks about is being a "good Christian" and doing God's will. As a Christian she is a hypocrite who can not walk her talk, and as a politician she is completely unqualified to be Vice President. Her interview with Katie Couric showed her to be a woman with a disorganzied mind, a woman who is in over her head, utterly unprepared for the twist her fate has taken.

Even committed Republicans who support McCain have to ask themselves if they really would take the risk of putting our country into Palin's hands. Sure, being VP doesn't necessarily take a lot of skills, but being President requires great intelligence and a clear-eyed world view, one untainted by religious fanaticism. Look at the mess we got with the under-qualified Dubya, and even he seems smarter and less fanatical than Palin. McCain is 72 years old, with high cholesterol and high blood pressure; his father and grandfather each died of heart attacks at age 72. McCain's Vice President HAS to be ready to lead. And by lead, I am not referring to a full speed charge into Armageddon.

For those of you who don't know, Palin belongs to a fundamentalist church that believes the end of the world is near: that war, financial distress and famine will kill off the sinful non-believers, and that when this holocaust occurs all good Christians will be taking refuge in Alaska. Furthermore, her church conducts witch hunts -- they actually use prayer to locate "witches" in their community, then publicly brand them as witches, and hold them responsible for everything that goes wrong in town. (Honestly, I think the long winters must be getting to their minds.) You can go on YouTube and watch videos of Palin participating during sermons like this. She stands on the altar facing the members. The congregation stands with outstretched hands, trancelike, speaking in tounges while the priest prays to "keep Sarah safe from all forms of witchcraft."

Could you REALLY feel comfortable knowing that a woman who holds these beliefs would have the power to declare war and deploy nuclear missiles?

Got negative on Wednesday and got really nasty tonight.
You know come to think of it he was negative in April when he was here in Indiana, bashing us the people of Indiana. I was willing to give him a chance and actually voted for him in the primary but after learning about his vote on the BAIPA I can no longer support him. I don't own a gun so I cant't cling to that but I do live by the principles of Christianity, something I would say Obama does not. If he trykly was a Christian he would not have supported allowing babies who are born alive to die.

Comment: How about Regan when he was governor of California. Nobody criticized him about signing a proabortion bill in California when he was running for president. The right still voted for him. The world did not stop if Obama becomes president or McCain. There are a hundred and one other issues besides abortion that people are more worried about.

Comment: Straight up I'm an Barack Obama voter and always will be but I don't see it. Gore ran laps around him and had the crowd wanting more and I really really really hate to admit this but both Clintons were better. And Joe Biden looked like a president last night and bored tonite. Obama looked totally hot but he kept looking right and left squinting at the teleprompters. He needs to learn how to play to the crowd not them to him and he better start believing what he's saying. Nobody here at work believed it when said it's not about him but they cheered when Biden came out. Why I don't know. And those Hillary nuttos were screaming because he didn't call her Senator and never mentioned Clinton's presidency and were cackling at Pellosi's tears and they threw stuff when Matthews and Olbermann went on and on. I'm a fan but I don't get that either. C'mon man get it together because my co-workers aren't getting it either and they don't want Mccain and there never gonna stop laughing at me. I cant take three more months of this.

Maliasha, you are very observant. You see without teleprompters Obama can't put 2 thoughts together because he is too inexperienced. He needs the teleprompters to tell him what to do...guess what....
THERE ARE NO TELEPROMPTERS to tell him what to say in the Oval Office, in international negotiations, and there is no TELEPROMPTERS at 3 AM when he gets that phone call....

Comment: Okay, lets see what happens with the debates. I think your going to be in for a nice surprise. When a person does what he does with stammering, means in a LOT OF INSTANCES, that his mind is thinking three to four steps ahead, and what he is trying to say is behind his thought processes. And usually this happens to people who are above average or high intelligence. Your in the medical field, I would think you would have given that some consideration too before you rambled on about 3am crap.

Comment: lori, you are talking about the wrong candidate. Obama is the great orator and speech writer. McCain can't even speak a three sentence speech without having to read it. When he READS it, he sounds as if he is reading! He can't even sound natural. Not even for a three sentence speech. Last night, Obama wiped out McCain. Camp is reeling this am! I suspect last night has now changed McCains convention plans. Back to the drawing board for McCain...

You need to get informed on how little experience he has, the sleezy people he has looked to for guidance, and his questionable ethical principles especially in regards to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act where he promoted that born alive infants should be left for dead simply because they were born during an abortion.
Perhaps your co-workers are Seeing thru Peolsi's lame attempts to cover for Obama on the born alive infant's topic. Pelosi has the AUDACITY to tell the Catholic church worldwide that it does not know when life begins because believing that life begins at conception goes against Obama's voting record.

Comment: Now that HE has been crowned it may be the time for exposition. Please google: Obama's money machine and we will find how his team successfully raised enormous amounts of money through internet scheme and bundlers all under the radar.
Search you will find. The same money machine which worked for Obama stands to gain from him. From what? from his sleazy promise of going energy "independent" by investing 150 billion into renewable energy market. Who are these people behind obama, the same people from the time of Silicon Valley Internet boom, which left millions of retiress poorer exactly by the end of Clinton Era. So if it was internet bubble at the time of Clinton and oil energy bubble with Bush Cheney. ... wait till you see the next bubble.... with the pumping of 150 billion dollars into sham projects. I just have to post this theory since that is one way I can keep my consceince clean. Thank you. I don't mind if Republicans run with this idea and revelation.

    Comment: "BILL CLINTON & COMPANY"?

    You sir are a pig.

Senator Clinton is not "company". And you wonder why her supporters are so passionate and angry? She received the same amount of votes as Obama and is a former First Lady and US Senator. She has served this country, whether anyone wants to admit to it. She toughened up Obama so he at least had a chance against the GOP machine. She got farther than DODD, KERRY, DASCHLE, GORE, DEAN, BRADLEY, JACKSON, LEAHY, HART AND TED KENNEDY. And NOT A SINGLE RUNNER UP HAS EVER CAMPAIGNED FOR ANOTHER UNNOMINATED CANDIDATE.

Can't you say something positive? Especially when Sen and Pres Clinton went out of there way to do for Obama what he can't do for himself? And jamming Mr Clinton in the Pepsi Center and allowing Gore the loser (because he also snubbed Mr Clinton) warm up the crowd for Obama? It screams insecurity. Ted Kennedy passed the torch to Obama? A senator and failed presidential candidate passing the torch to a presidential nominee? Seems Democrats have forgotten the only Democratic 2-term president in 50 years. It will not be the Clinton's fault if Obama fails.

MICHEAL BECHLOSS calls himself a presidential historian and thinks Joe Biden's was the most important speech?? Great advertising to not read his written words. And the fact that you say they had something "to prove" shows how out of touch you are with loyal Clinton voters. And more attacks on the Clintons for not "doing enough" goes to the argument that Obama/Biden can't do it alone.

Here's a clue: Stop the Clinton attacks if you want unconvinced democrats to come out in November. Issues are one thing - continued disrespect of the only prosperous Democratic president and first lady is another. And it's time Obama reached out to the black community to "just chill" ala CLYBURN.

The Clintons owe him nothing. And the fact that Obama still isn't seeking counsel from President Clinton highlights his egomania and self-interest - elitism if you will. That's why they haven't been sold and won't be until Obama shows respect to both Clintons.

And the nasty remarks about a senior senator who served our country with distinction reflect extremely poorly on your self-named above the fray candidate.

Comment: Its so sad to see how truely scared Obama and his campagin is of the Clinton's. It's all about fear with them. Barak was so scared that Bill would show how he is so obviously more experienced and dare I say classier than the Obama's he just HAD to run out on stage last night to make sure the party did forget who he was. But, after Hillary's and Bill speeches I guess I cant blame him. It was unmistakeable how Hillary and Bill performed. They really showed them how it's done. But I guess when your too busy "Hating whitey" in church and making dirty dealings with a felon like Resko and an amitted terriost like William Aires one tends to not have that . Is this really the best the DNC can do? Why must they insist on giving us these choices??? First passing us Howard Dean who terrified the Reps for Kerry???? now to shoving the NEW AND IMPROVED KERRY - KERRY 2.0 down our throats with Obama to pass up Hillary????

Oh, well when one loses I guess they get use to it.

P.S. was I not the only one who

    1. Saw the disgusted look on Michelle's face during Bill's speech
    2. See when Obama came out, Kiss Biden's wife Jill in the mouth. I mean in her mouth. She's a married woman. What???? No one but my husband is allowed that . She should have slapped him. But, when he calls us "Sweetie" I guess the thinks he's intitled. Bill would have decked him on stage!

Comment: I think you meant the smirk and eye-rolling when Sen Clinton was taking in her well-deserved applause. I think the most important thing Mr Clinton did directly for Michelle Obama is he made her human--which her own speech did not accomplish. When Mr Clinton mentioned her and Barack and their beautiful children, she softened visibly and in that moment became an authentically proud mother and wife. She also exchanged a look with her own mother. It was unmistakable, undeniable and absolutely 100% genuine. Any black woman (especially Michelle Bernard, Donna Brazile and Susan Rice) who saw that and recognized it's significance and still carries ill-will toward the Clintons should be ashamed of themselves.

And there better be more than the familiar 18 million cracks better for my daughter line and real praise of Mr Clinton's civil rights activism. He needs to reach out to his black voters like Sen Clinton did to hers. Michelle Obama, herself, was helped by Senator Clinton's generation. And she would never have the chance to be first lady without a strong independent professional mother preceding her. These are the things Hillary's followers are waiting to hear to vote for Obama and not just the Democrats.

Stylist to Obama camp: the round adornments at her neckline made her face look hard. Keep to the soft unadorned necklines. Don't be afraid of bright colors or heels. Remind her that the camera is on her 24 hours a day and that her clapping should never cover her face -- it is uncouth, especially abroad.

The "radical San Francisco-style social experimentation" promoted by Barack Obama and the Democratic Party is not what is best for the country.

The Denver Post reports 358 radical homosexual delegates are in Denver for the Democratic National Convention, the largest number ever to take part in a major party national convention.

A special DNC program called "Pride With Your Potty" was set up to recruit more homofornicating delegates and anal masturbating delegates of color.

      CoCo
Very well said--thank you. That is Obama's fundamental problem: he does not come off like he loves our country or that he is going to put the American people first. Whether or not it is true is up to Obama. He has some big shoes to fill after some fantastic speeches. Michelle clearly has a long way to go in the sincerity category but showed great promise. I don't think it was wise to lead off with her. President Clinton should have been first with his endorsement so Michelle had more of a chance to be heard. It was another example of arrogance and political inexperience clouding the big picture. Someone please remind Obama that he has won nothing and even with all the pomp and circumstance (and more to come) and MSM adoration he is tied in the polls with a 72 y/o Republican who would follow 8 years of Bush. Reps Lewis and Clyburn please rein in this man's ego or the down payment will remain a down payment and it won't have a thing to do with racial intolerance. Food, gas and shelter mean more to regular Americans than does historical significance. And how historic a moment is it when a man who stood bedside Rev MLK is not present to bear witness?

Senator Clinton's speech was the absolute standout and the most important of all. However the MSM and the Obama camps have tried to diminish her, she received the same amount of votes as the eventual nominee. Please imagine for a minute if the races and genders were transposed. Mr Clinton was really quite shocking in his presentation--how good it was. This also highlights the arrogance and inexperience of Mr Obama, who is seeking counsel from presidential failures: Dodd, Kerry, Dean and Gore and not from the most prosperous and only two-term president since the great FDR. Please tell the MSM/Obama camp to stop the Clinton bashing because they have done everything. If they keep whining and asking for more - it will underscore what many longtime (proven to vote) Democrats believe: that Obama can't do it alone as commander in chief. Every shot to the Clintons is a shot for Sen McCain. Obama must decide if he wants to win or if he was just a pawn to make sure Sen Clinton didn't win.

Sen Biden was masculine and real and appeared every bit an authentic statesman - which was sorely lacking on the ticket. I was thoroughly entertained and energized by him. He showed a spirit and vitality that Obama needs and a president must command. I think it wold be good for him to overshadow Obama to get working people to believe in the ticket.

John Kerry showed why he was swift-boated.

Conclusion: Senator & President Clinton have given me the OK to vote for Joe Biden.

Comment: (self explanatory copy follows and is offered as truthful answer to HollyRoller, debunked, sharenews, and all of the other garbage)

    Dear Family & Friends:

I am breaking my own rule by sending this letter but after being attacked personally and directly I feel compelled to do so. This is about politics and I do ask that you simply take the time to read this as I have no intention of bothering you further.
My wife and I live on our entitlements and depend on my Veterans Administration benefits and now the Republicans, including John McCain, are advocating privatizing both Social Security and VA Benefits. The private accounts for Social Security will likely break the system (affecting everyone), raise the deficit by a couple of trillion dollars and no doubt see Social Security eventually converted to just 401Ks. The VA medical benefits would be all but eliminated, except for treating service connected problems, and veterans would just be given an insurance card. In neither case does it sound like anything near the same level of care now offered.
Over the last eight years we have witnessed the performance of the worst, the most dishonest presidency America has ever seen. There is no doubt that they have been boldly focused on benefiting Special Interests and a select few (action they label as being conservative) who return both overt and covert support, contributions and then promises for kickback compensation after leaving office. George W Bush has even arrogantly bragged that he will pass his father and Bill Clinton in wealth shortly after he leaves office. All of that being done while they simply give only apathy, the costs and subterfuge (lies) to the average (Republican, Democrat and Independent) American (their style of conservatism). They simply label everything they don???t want to do as liberalism, even when it benefits the majority of people or is aimed to pick people up and make them more productive, benefiting the whole economy ??? including the wealthy. They literally try to con everyone, from conservative Christian to the high middle-class, to the Katrina survivors and of course the vast middle-class about everything from their honesty, about education, immigration, bringing drugs back into the US, Global Warming, whether they exposed the CIA agent???s identity, and on and on as it is unending. Check anything they have done or proposed and see who would greatly benefit, what they said to sell it and what it really cost America and the average American. A great example is of course the Iraq War which was falsely justified, has cost us dearly and has only greatly benefited a few insiders. Wouldn???t it have been far more rational to have kept after the al Queada in Afghanistan and then to seek to make a democracy there and in Pakistan? But of course the Special Interest people then wouldn???t have been satisfied.

    • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 08/28/2008 3:56:01 PM

      Comment: (continuing from above)

The Republicans, after having too much power for too long, have developed dirty politics into their art form. They hesitate at nothing, demonstrate no conscience and aggressively use any tactic, Karl Rove style, with boldness and arrogance. They attack with half-truths exaggerated to sound like something, with total lies forcibly and continually presented, always with anything to distract attention from the issues and slander their opponent, including using 3rd party agents. They seek to appeal to people???s biases, prejudices and emotions in order to avoid truthful consideration of the issues. John Kerry failed to respond in kind to them and lost; now whenever Barack Obama does respond they cry foul and seek people???s sympathy. John McCain has advocated and now demonstrates his full support for and participation in all of this, including his intention of continuing the Bush-Cheney policies. As far as I am concerned, that is not acceptable.
Four more years of this stuff and I don???t know how much would be left. We already have lost the status we once held across the whole world and have alienated allies and even lost the respect of our enemies. We already have a badly declining economy, a humongous deficit, sadly decaying infrastructure, rising medical costs and many neglected problems here at home. We just can???t afford more of the same. I realize you may disagree with me and while I am hoping to have you understand my reasoning and that you will be objective, I really don???t want to argue with anyone. I of course recognize and respect that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and allegiance. What I ask is that you simply rationally consider everything, while maintaining an open mind with blocks set aside, and just listen to Obama???s positions and then make your own conscience driven objective decision. I am simply scared that, like in 2000 and 2004, they could again possibly succeed in smoke screening their way in. And, as I???ve explained, it is just too important to me.
Thank you for your patience and good luck to all of us.
      Sincerely,
      REG

He should've gone on Further and say...

43 Yr old John F. Kennedy was also Mocked by the Republicans and his own Democratic Opposition Lyndon B. Johnson as being "Too Young & Too InExperienced" as well

Ronald Reagan was Scorned Early on by the Press and his Republican opposition as "Being Too Old & InExperienced and just a B-Actor vying for the White House" and also it was said, "That Running a Single State is not like Running 50 states" but later on one of the Most Beloved Presidents.

Jimmy Carter was called "Too Southern, Too Out of Touch and He has No National Or International Experience", yet Carter did 2 Great Things in his 1 term as President,

    1. Carter Brokered: The "Middle East Peace Agreement" an Agreement that has lasted to this day, Between Both Israel & Eygpt.

    2. Carter Brokered: The Strategic Nuclear Missiles Agreemnet between Both The USA & Russia. These 2 Agreemenst thus far have NEVER BEEN BROKEN !!!

Carter did it without BloodShed and Mass Murder or Mass Destruction.

THINK ABOUT THAT, WHEN YOU CRITICIZE JIMMY CARTER.
    -------------------------------------------

My fellow Democrats, sixteen years ago, you gave me the profound honor to lead our party to victory and to lead our nation to a new era of peace and broadly shared prosperity.

Together, we prevailed in a campaign in which the Republicans said I was too young and too inexperienced to be Commander-in-Chief. Sound familiar? It didn't work in 1992, because we were on the right side of history. And it won't work in 2008, because Barack Obama is on the right side of history.

His life is a 21st Century incarnation of the American Dream. His achievements are proof of our continuing progress toward the "more perfect union" of our founders' dreams. The values of freedom and equal opportunity which have given him his historic chance will drive him as president to give all Americans, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability, their chance to build a decent life, and to show our humanity, as well as our strength, to the world.

We see that humanity, that strength, and our future in Barack and Michelle Obama and their beautiful children. We see them reinforced by the partnership with Joe Biden, his wife Jill, a dedicated teacher, and their family.

Barack Obama will lead us away from division and fear of the last eight years back to unity and hope. If, like me, you still believe America must always be a place called Hope, then join Hillary, Chelsea and me in making Senator Barack Obama the next President of the United States.

The Clintons' name isn't on the ballot and they can never be blamed for barry's loss and will certainly not get any credit if barry wins. The more you focus on the Clintons - the more ridiculously weak barry looks. Can someone convey this to the messiah? Clinton supporters have gotten the nod - it's barry's job to close the deal - and continuing to denigrate the Clitnons is going to forever alienate them. Whatever happens now is up to barry. And if his supporters and MSM continue to focus on the Clitnons and whether they "did enough" will prove that the ral mission was to take out the Clintons not take back the White House. It is what Bill did with the facts regarding his carnal mistakes--he brazingly lied about them--before congress, the American people, and before a court of law, and he did so while trying to make Monica out to be the liar. That is an act of an immature, self-centered person who shows no care or concern for his high public office, or for his family and the American people. And dawn-brady, if the "eyes of the world" sees Americans as immature because we are offended by infidelity and the lack of character in our principle public officers, so be it. But it is that point of view that makes this Republic great and the envy of the world.

How old are you? Do you really think the people who got one of the 25 MILLION new jobs under his presidency care about that other crap? Get over it. You are no one to judge. His family and the American people have forgiven him. And in case you didn't notice impeachment was the price the president paid so let it go. The Commander in Chief brought us prosperity only matched after WWII. So take out your damn bible, play God and then talk to the people who have no job, home or health insurance and ask them if they'd like to have Mr William Jefferson Clinton back.

What is your opinion of Thomas Jefferson? The man who penned "All men are created equal" while slaves filled up his inkwell?

Comment: People do care about "that other crap" then as they do today--just ask John Edwards. And what is this nonsense that I am "no one to judge"? The important question is how old are you, Ludicrous? I have the very same right to judge the character of my leaders who are in office, or who desire to be in office, as the ones who impreached Bill Clinton, else my vote would be as useless as a brainwashed vote that is registered in China. And for your information, Ludicrous (because I see you're not too abreast on past history) that all throughout and at the end of Mr. William Jefferson Clinton's stay as president, there were people,as there are today, who didn't have jobs or homes or health insurance or access to a quality education. If you are going to make a point, you best start out by having one.

Comment: The same ones who impeached Bill Clinton? Like Newt Gingrich and John McCain, who both had extra-marrital affairs. Gingrich, while he was damning Clinton for doing the same thing.

Comment: With you ire, MR HUCKTWAIN, you missed his point. More people had jobs and homes when Mr Clinton left then they will when Bush leaves. When Clinton left the White House after the "carnal mistakes" and "other crap" his approval rating was 65%, there was a budget surplus, economic prosperity and the nation was not at war. And when Bush leaves?

Comment: I think Bill's judgement is a mute point. IRT your last sentence, I sincerly doubt that the rest of the world envies an economy that is in the toilet with no signs of recovering, a global opinion of the USA being a bully and forcefull, and the American Dream being exactly that now - a dream, not possible to attain because we n
