Comment: Democracy and human rights are tactics to disintegrate a family,
a society, a nation, and enemies. These protesters are merely covert agents of
the white man of the West. Their mission is to prevent the raise of the red star (more precisely, yellow power) and
to starve 1.5 billions of our people so that they can be slaved. Study the history. This is what the West has done
to the rest of the world in the past. The tactics and goals are the same but less brutal.
I came to live in Europe and US for democracy and human rights after my naive participitation of
the Tiananmen square demonstration, but I found discrimination, police brutality, and injustice
and the media (Chinese media, too) are silent. Wake up! Don't be fooled! Support our government's actions!

Comment: It's really sickening to read all of these abusive posts towards this quite innocent man. It shouldn't matter what country you're from-- the basic human rights of all people should be respected by the Chinese government, and yet they very clearly are not.
These brave and conscientious people (residents, protestors, reporters) are risking their own lives and safety in order to expose the ugly and bitter truth that China is indeed a fascist, repressive, and murderous country.
People all over the world should hold the Chinese government accountable for it's atrocious human rights violations. We all owe a great debt to people of such integrity as Brian Conley and the protestors from Students for a Free Tibet.
Exposing the Chinese government as a totalitarian state is both necessary and right. Stop berating the messengers!!!

Comment: I can't believe all these comments. Physical violence in response to verbal or non-verbal communication no matter how crude is the very definition of fascism. You all should be required to read 1984 by George Orwell. It misses the point as to whether or not you believe this fellow should be in China or with his family or not. All he was doing was filming. Maybe you all should be more respectful? Perhaps you all should be spending time with your families instead of blogging? This is why fascism is so terrible because it assumes that other idiots know better how an individual should be wasting their time better than that person himself. This guy filming may be an idiots but Silent-water, shiftmonkey and pugster - you guys are no better.

Comment: "I've been arrested overseas and I know what the laws are and what rights we have as Americans."
You think you can do whatever you like in other countries just because you are American? You should understand that the world is not the one governed by the US. You should know how to respect others, or else, nobody wil respect you.

Comment: In China, obey Chinese law.
    In USA, obey American law.
"although he says he was smacked around at the airport for making an obscene gesture at a police officer", what kind of guys would do such obscene things???
"Your firstborn is due at the end of October. Were you worried that you might not make it back in time?
", what's the difference of this question to that ask an imprisoner in American jail "are you worried that you can not stay with your family at the weekend???

Comment: They should go to China and put a sign 'arrest me' sign on his head.

Comment: I agree with zeroproof. This fools is gallavanting around the world when his wife needs him. It's obviously his firstborn, and he doesn't seem ready to be a dad. He needs to get his priorities straight. Aside from that, what was he doing at the protest if he wasn't involved in it? Personally, I'm sick of the "Free Tibet" garbage. How about doing something for our own poor if you want to help somebody?

Comment: I am sick and tired of this "China did well but did it do anything to its democracy" type of comments. Well, US did will swimming, but did that do anything for the civil rights of black Americans?

Comment: Are you all ever tired of "China did well in the Olympics, but did Olympics do anything with China's openness" type of typics?
Well, US did well in the Olympics, but did that help the US stop illegally invading other countries?

Comment: Here's a guy with a PREGNANT WIFE in China participating in a free Tibet protest. Maybe he should be more focused on let's say, PROTECTING HIS FAMILIES FUTURE. He's right up there with the guy who died while trying to climb Mt. Everest and left a PREGNANT WIFE behind. There is this thing called RESPONSIBILTY that some people have trouble grasping.

Isn't it ironic: Xerox is hoping it can profit by teaching companies how to reduce their printing.
