We should never vote for the color of a person because that is bigotry . His color does not make him any less or more capable of running this country. As far as I am concerned, I accept your analogy and lets place Obama on the moon!

Will Obama`s experience match that of Ronald Regean? Have Americans forgotten the hero and main man from stage and screen? When did they raise the bar for president of the United States? Did anyone have any questions about his experiences? Was he looked upon as too weak to lead in spite of his actor abilities? Is an actor the same as a senator or community leader? One more question, and that is,where did Barack go wrong in his quest for the white house? I am thinking maybe if Barack take some time off and sharpen his skills in the actor and movie business then perhaps those who question his qualifications and experiences would finally be satisfied once and for all,and then maybe not. Obama is caught between a rock and a hard place due to the fact that he is a shade too dark for America.

Ok. Those are your reasons NOT to vote for Obama. Where are your reasons to vote FOR Obama? Or is he just the lesser of two evils?

Holy sh*t. Check out when Palin begins speaking, McBush is checking out her ass in front of the nation. Watch the replay.

    • Posted By: jh35180 @ 08/29/2008 4:54:33 PM

Dare270. McBush? How original. You leftists are about as stupid as you can get. McCain has veered from the Republican Party several times. Obama never reaches out to make compromises. Of course all you socialists can do is get into name calling because Obama is a man of no substance.

        jh35180,
And the capitailist have shown in the last few months that they really got it right huh?
Consider yourself lucky if you have a job and a house in a months time.

    Vallihi,
    A little praise for Pailin?
How about little praise for Pailin.
    What a dunce.

    Disgusted in Colorado,
    Don't throw away you vote.
Use it to send the Republicians home.
End this war, and bring us peace.
    Reconsider your position.

  • Posted By: tender @ 09/19/2008 10:50:00 PM

    Adjmr,
You would rather have an out of touch old guy and a dunce to represent you?

  • Posted By: tender @ 09/19/2008 10:44:59 PM

    Chuck Goodman,
What on earth are you writing about.
Ford is an admirable person, but so is Mr. Obama.
Do you think McCain and Pailin are going to be the choice in November?
    Please

I agree that having a black as one or both of the presidential nominees is a great leap forward. It is such a shame it wasn't one of the many better qualified blacks that are ethically more upstanding like Ford from Tennessee. I will not be able to vote for Obama as he has caused me to lose all faith in him. I do not feel Obama is honest and most certainly lacks integrity.
Not enough experience either and his do nothing record speaks for itself.

I agree that Barack's nomination was a historicial event. I really do not care if he becomes President -- but the nomination was the true celebration of all Americans. The job as President of the most powerful country on the planet is not an equal opportunity position. But again hurrah for the nomination.

Yes, Howard , maybe it would have been an historic time ,if obama had actually been Nominated instead of Chosen by the DNC. They should have gone with Hillary (the sure winner) but since they did not, I am protesting against their Choice with my vote.
It has Nothing to do with him being Black ,as the blacks are so fond of saying .
He never could win ,with no experience and his constant waffling on every issue .

  • Posted By: disgusted in colo @ 09/16/2008 5:45:55 PM

Yes , Howard , maybe it would have been historic if he actually had been Nominated , instead of Chosen, above Hillary , The one person who could have assured the Dems of the win.
But , alas the DNC has spoken and LOST my vote.

As an American I stand in awe to see a true moment in American History! Yes, I truly believe that we are on a special time and moment in history and the only thing that really bothers me is how the so call God fearing, high moral country first Republicans can't for a moment knowledge the fact that Sen. Obama has what it takes to be a leader for this country. They engage themselves in nothing but cheap politics, smearing good Americans and what is worse, lying to other Americans , just to win an election. Please Sen. McCain, STOP IT!
You are an American first, why do you lower your campaign to such ugly tactics that only produce division, hatred, resentment and shame? I'm a proud US VETERAN and I served my country with honor! Many have given their lives for this country we love so much and yet you do not hear them day in and day out bragging about their heroism. The Bible says , Let others do that for you. Don't let your right hand know what your left has done, otherwise you have already received your reward. As a Minister of the Gospel, I'm proud to give my vote for an American that I believe will represent all people, in regardless of race, color, religion, etc.
May God give you wisdom, love and peace so that you may make good, righteous decisions, even if it means that you don't win an election. I rather win a good standing with God and my fellow citizens.

    i agree with valihi...
FINEMAN you must acknowledge the fact that whichever party man win, the republican or democratic, it will be a new and exciting chapter in U.S History. So be fair, give Palin some credit (no matter which party you may favor)

  • Posted By: vallihi @ 09/05/2008 1:20:15 PM

As a partisan Democrat Howard Fineman supports Liberal candidates and slams Republicans repeatedly. Those of us who are Republicans expect nothing less, but what does Howard say about Gov Palin being the first Republican Vice Presidential candidate ??? Zip.
Just for the record Obama is the first half black/half white candidate to run for the Presidency from either
party on a major ticket.. If he were white, he would not qualify for such a high honor. Despite his black father, it was his white grandparents who welcomed him into their home in Hawaii. The raised him until he went away to college, but his community service in Chicago was in the black community. Has he ever performed community service in poor white communities?
He established his credentials among the black community as a path to high office.
Let us see what comes of his candidacy, but Mr. Fineman , a little praise for Gov. Palin is long overdue!

Not taking sides? laughable. His nomination is historic not because he is black, because never in American history has a party nominated someone who is friends with so many unsavory characters in such a short life. His good friends, self described homegrown terrorist, non-repentant (Bill Ayers), convicted criminals (Tony Rezko) and racist Preacher (who Obama modeled his life after) is beyond troubling. His refusal to release important papers is not change, but politics as usual. . Historical indeed.

    • Posted By: AllTheWay2008 @ 09/03/2008 4:08:01 PM

This is my response to NYCnative.......we are all so blessed to have someone of such high, Republican moral standards such as yourself in our presence. Now read...
