I'm curious about the photo on page 29 of the September 15 issue of Newsweek which shows Sarah Palin "wrapped up in it" - literally wrapped up in the US Flag. Had her advisors/handlers not read the Guidelines for Display of the Flag issued by the US Department of Veteran Affairs? There it states under the heading of Other Things Not To Do With the Flag - "Out of respect for the U.S. Flag never ....use it as wearing apparel..." IIt appears to me Sarah Palin is wearing the Flag in a manner that constitutes disrepect. This from someone whose party reprimanded Barack Obama for not wearing the tiny Flag lapel pin! It is worth reading the Other Things Not to Do with the Flag because I think Sarah is committing several of the points outlined there that show disrepect for our country's Flag.

Why are we worried about what Palin wears and what it costs? I don't recall such pressing questions aimed at Hillary(always smartly dressed), Mrs. Kerry, Mrs. Gore, Joe Biden. What's amatta Anerica, can't handle a beautiful smart accomplished woman with style???????

    • Posted By: MYJV @ 11/06/2008 3:42:49 PM

While Palin is beautiful she is nothing of the sort when it comes to accomplishments & style. Where have you been? Did you not see here in her normal clothes in Alaska? Meet her at the RedNeck Clearance Rack!

She is Beautiful but I disagree on the accomplished woman with style...where have u been? Did you not take a glimpse of her normal attire in Alaska? Meet her at the RedNeck Clearance Rack

I don't understand why people are so taken with this woman? I just don't get it. I'm a working wife and mother and in fact she frightens me. I'm anxious to hear her take part in an interview and respond to questions of substance related to the economy, health care, jobs, national security. Let her off the leash, let's her what she has to say. SKS Indiana

There are a number of videos on her. Newsweek, for one. Alsom CNBC sent a reporter to interview her in the past. Try searching online.

Fnsstein: I am a working mom myself. three children I do relate to this fine lady. We live in the 21st century. Stop living in the past. This is the time to prove to everyone out there tha WE women can do it all. We do multitask on a daily basis and get zero recognition. Biden left his kids right after his spouse got killed and even after he was asked to stay behind and help his children cope he refused....but Oh no! Gov Palin is crucified because she went back to work after three days of giving birth. MY GO!! talk about sickening double standards. Please help us women stop this world from continuing to be a "men's world" sick and tired of ti. So, should you!!

You have got to be kidding me. Do your homework. Step outside of what the conservative media is feeding you and seek the truth before you do women the disfavor of voting in McCain/Palin. If you are going to vote, do your own research.

  • Posted By: jesejames11 @ 09/10/2008 4:39:43 PM

Palin is nothing but a smearing fraud. She seeks sympathy votes merely on personality and issues that do not relate to the election. She is as narrow minded and self consumed in her own personal agendas as her party. Americans should be voting on behalf of the people. Every single person deserves someone whom is compassionate and understanding to the actual problems america is facing. People should open their minds to all the different type of people that make us who we are. Except of putting their knows up to issues that contrast with their personal beliefs. Laws should not be based upon one persons view point but a median of everyone views. If you solely base your vote for palin on her personality. You should be ashamed of yourself. However, if you vote for Palin based on research about her view on issues facing America and how she chooses to change them. You should be even more ashamed of yourself. Plus McCain is the one running for President not Palin. She is only useful if McCain DIES! which is highly unlikely. Go vote for the right reasons and the right changes that Ameroica should put forth for the next 4 yrs. Not ones that are so sadly familiar with broken promises and empty pockets. I use to be proud. But the downward spiral america has tured for is just heartbreaking.!!!

I felt just like you - for eight years - that the Clinton's were in power. I feel your pain. Clinton, I think did a little feeling around himself. "What's that on that dress? Must be salad dressing." ha ha ha . As Obama said, "You People!"

      • Posted By: Shhh @ 09/11/2008 12:19:22 PM

I agree that we should not vote for someone because of their personality........and thats all Obama has!!! and its not even a good one.... And jesejames11 its amazing that your accusations and pointing fingers are all pointing to you.

Imagine Jan. 30th 2009......McCain is sworn in with Palin. He drops dead and Palin, who doesnt know enough about big government to interview with the press or campaign on her own and is of questionable character, becomes our President. Kinda like seeing Barney Fife of Mayberry RFD become head of the CIA.

Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air...amazingly the leftist are calling her a "movie star" "celeb"....amazing that is all that Obama has been running on - "rock star appeal"...supposedly. Now that Sarah is on the scene and Obama has been pushed out of first place....suddenly personality and popularity are "obscene"....

Get real Dems...many in America are tired of your anger, resentment and give away programs.

I thought Sarah Palin was running against Joe Biden. Goodness. Can we match the candidates appropriately - then compare? More of what I said in my comment going on here. Sarah against Obama and that's it? This is the first election where I here this much comparison between the presidential and vice-presidential candidates - ever.

Let's pick on Gov Palin right? Why not? I fyou all democrats didnt have compasion of Sen Clinton why would you even have a bit of respect for Palin right? You all democrats are so pathetic is not even funny!!
Go McCain / Palin all the way to the white house. You have my support and 40 other women who voted for Hillary Clinton in the primaries. Obama sucks!! the only thing he does right is...talk, talk talk, blah! blah! blah!! sick of him and his hypocrit democrat followers...

Obama doesn???t know what he is doing bottom line. He has not been a leader of anything. Joe Biden is full of himself with his comment of "my wife is drop dead gorgeous and has a PhD and that???s a problem, what kind of ego centric VP is this Hoe Biden.
The democrats and their candidates O-biden are in a panic and are scrambling. They and the liberal news media are out to bash the republican candidates, especially the VP. What they dont get is the more they bash with lies the more people are driven to listen to her speeches and once people do that they are hooked on Palin. Palin, who totally rocks would be able to bring it ON! If she ever had to step in for McCain, don???t kid yourself. Obama on the other hand is weak and only votes present 80% of the time, would go hide behind the sofa when that call would come in at 3 am.
News Update: We run small business and one of our long time customers came in and told us dont believe a thing about what is being said about Sarah Palin. This lady knew her quite well and lived in Wasilla, and worked with her on some projects when she was younger.
This customer said the person who was fired wasn???t doing his job of brining in new recruits and getting rid of those who were not working out. The state trooper was MIA he was suppose to be in certain areas and was not too many donuts. That same state trooper who everyone is crying over he used a taser on his own son.

Bottom line is you don???t do your jobee you get fired.

I see this was posted Sept 6. Obviously have not seen the more recent interviews with your VP candidate. Is she taking something?

You need to stop whatching Saturday Night Live for your information. This is so sad, turning this important race between discussions with women who are trying to right the wrongs of being overlooked over the past 200 years and not being considered equal to their male counterparts! There are times to fight these sidebar issues and times to stop repeating needless off-topic rhetoric. Our country is in DIRE crisis and we do not have time to fight about the PTA and Hockey mom. Sarah Palin IS NOT MENTALLY ready and lacks the acumen to conduct the critical analysis required to make decisions for the VP. McCain is showing a lack of mental acuity based on this judgement.
People are giving McCain a pass because he makes them feel guilty because they stayed home rather than serve. Okay, they did! He served, but since he has gotten home, he has been serving himself! He cheated his first wife, his country with the Keating Five fiasco, and now he wants to cheat the next generation out of their future.
You know this is a ridiculous pick. Let get real! Obama is not only a strong man, he is a wise man. You don't have to flex your muscles, swing your arms and scream to be considered strong. He will continue to show discipline and sound reasoning in selecting a cabinet to help get our country back on track. Some of the best minds of our times are attesting to his gifts and abilities. I'd rather stay on topic of governing not waste time comparing governance relevant to an Office Manager in the Mayor of Wasilla.
Another concern is the vast difference in types of policies, personalities, issues, and budgets relevant to the small span of control in Alaska and most districts here in the "lower 48" as they say.

I commend Sarah Palin for doing the RIGHT THING......fired "inefficient" public workers who have been dipping in our taxpayers money. Every government workers MUST be held accountable in the highest of the highest standard. YES, this is what Sarah Palin has been doing for Alaskans. Now it's time for our next Vice President to make every government employee submit to what they should have been doing for a long time. Many "violators" are now afraid of Sarah because it's "CLEANING TIME!!!!!". We're behind you Sarah in prayers and in God's care. We Love You Sarah!!!!

    • Posted By: disbelief8 @ 09/28/2008 11:49:20 PM

The only cleaning John McCain and Sarah Palin are going to do is cleaning out the spare change in our pockets after this 700 bil bailout.

    • Posted By: iamawoman @ 09/07/2008 2:30:24 PM

Areyou nuts?? Why do you "love" someone that you do not know. Get a life!! You think she's going to clean ulp this corrupt republican government???? Think a mother who exposes her unmarried pregnant child to the world is a fit parent or just out to promote her own selfish ambitions? Think she's going to put county first????? Is that what you call good character?????????

      • Posted By: louisianavoter0985 @ 09/12/2008 6:42:10 PM

She certainly did not "expose" her pregnant daughter as you are saying here. It's not really something that can be hidden after a certain point...

She has been nothing but supportive of her daughter, and that certainly gives her my respect.

    • Posted By: fccFH @ 09/08/2008 4:01:51 PM

Simple logic- try simple minded! Have you completely overlooked how wasteful Alaska has been with money appropriated to it from the US Government? And if every government worker must be held accountable in the highest of the highest standard, how has almost every member of the Bush administration been able to evade this? And one more thing- keep your religion out of Americas politics!

  • Posted By: marysusanna @ 09/07/2008 3:41:20 PM

Does anyone notice how mean spirited some of these comments are about Sarah Palin!? I think they're scared...
She just got tapped less than two weeks ago!!! She just jumped in. She hasn't been beating the campaign trail for the last two-four years. She was focusing on Alaska, taking on a job and cleaning up a mess that not many would take on. She might not have made perfect decisions in the precise timing 100% of the time. Who would, or even could. Tell me one who ever did! Some think that 80-90% are pretty good odds. She's got guts and morals and believe it or not ,there are a lot of out there who consider these things important.

    • Posted By: fccFH @ 09/08/2008 3:55:46 PM

Your write: ???She just got tapped less than two weeks ago!!! She just jumped in. She hasn't been beating the campaign trail for the last two-four years. She was focusing on Alaska,???

While this may be true, this, coupled with her reluctance to step out into the spotlight only highlights the fact that she is not ready for a position on this level. And basically what it seems like what you are saying is that you support her, just because she is getting her feelings hurt by a little press bashing. And her morals appear questionable considering her track record of ignoring the constitution. Are you missing the fact that as a potential president you do have to be right 100% of the time, otherwise we end up with four more year of Bush. Put aside morals and guts, I want a leader who actually has a brain!

      • Posted By: marysusanna @ 09/09/2008 9:28:51 AM

There has never been a leader in the history of the world that has gotten it right 100% of the time. There is only one who will do that and His time is coming. Until then, we have to put up with the inadequacies of man/woman. Beware lest you put your faith in a man who is a mear mortal, has no respect for God and has never created a change that meant anything. He has no track record, his accomplishments have been personal, for him and his ambition. Besides, brains without morals have proven themselves over and over again in history. Beware of the "changes" Obama has in store for this nation!!!

        • Posted By: fccFH @ 09/09/2008 11:25:02 AM

God does not choose our leaders. The people of America do. And how can you say he has no respect for God. But more importantly, why is this the issue that torments you. Why are you unable to focus on Obamas stronger abilities to fix our economy, fix our education system, strengthen international relations that the current administration has so drastically ruined, and find a way out of a war and bring our troops home safely. The McCain ticket will only continue the mess Bush has created. It really seems like you want more people to die in vain in the name of the Lord.

          • Posted By: marysusanna @ 09/09/2008 5:10:08 PM

Just to set the record straignt... Bush did make a big mess. I totally disagree with this war. Our economy is a mess and I'm hurting as bad as anybody. But, how can we just tuck our tails and run and leave Iraq to the terrorists and/or Iran. I think Bush had his own ulterior motives and they were not in the best interest of this country. He has taken this country down a road that will affect generations. Whoever gets elected will have to deal with that mess. Obama does have abilities, to talk.... But, when has he ever demonstrated the ability to fix the economy, education, national security, etc? And, why does it bother you that I am a Christian and I want Christian leaders to run this country. Is that not my right as an American citizen???

            • Posted By: disbelief8 @ 09/28/2008 11:41:45 PM

Obama is a Christian and demonstrates this in his demeanor, his temprament, and his integrity. I could just as easily place these sames values and characteristics on a Muslim running for office. Obama is a decent man. I have yet to hear anyone make any reasoned attacks on his personal behavior and his actual (not made up by a smear campaign) policies.

            • Posted By: Rowdyboy @ 09/10/2008 10:46:52 AM

Dear Dear marysusanna, I suggested earlier that you were perhaps ignorant of the facts. Now I see that you know what the stakes are. Obama has not yet had an opportunity to demonstrate his abilities to "fix" the economy but niether has any of the other team. Look, you know that Obama is a Christian, we've been over this againa and again and it's time to accept the fact that he is indeed a christian whose vies differ from yours. YOur christianity does not bother anyone but ask yourself this.is it Christ like??? Can you cast the first stone Marysusanna????? I think you should try to find out more about the Obama ticket. I believe you'll realize that for this country you love so much to comefully in to the 21st century in needs 21st century thinking which is not forth coming from John McCain. And while SP might be pretty and fiesty her background simply does not warrant her beig where she is. In fact it is scary that JM would place her there. It really shows that he does not understand what's at stake here. I suggest a bit more research on your part.

            • Posted By: BaDgErFaN @ 09/09/2008 6:07:38 PM

freedom is the distance between church and state...it is not wrong to want a christian to be president at all! BUT are you saying you wouldn't want someone who wasn't Christian? And I do believe Obama is Christian so those beliefs don't really count here. And if you hurt so bad from the place your at because of Bush....why do you believe McCain will make it better. He voted with Bush 95% of the time.

            • Posted By: fccFH @ 09/09/2008 5:46:53 PM

I am Christian too. It obviously does not bother me that you are Christian, but I do not feel that a Christian doctrine should be guiding our country. So yes, if you are asking if I feel it is wrong to elect a leader based on his or her religion, I would say yes it is. Because I feel that one's ability to lead is not based on faith. This country is a melting pot of different religions, beliefs, and views- having someone lead with a hard-line, Christian perspective is unfair to many in this country. I agree with you on most of your other points, especially that we cannot leave Iraq in the mess we created. My concern is that McCain will continue this war into Iran where it does not belong. Obama has a clean track record of following through in his goals for education, the economy, and security in Chicago. His years as a law professor and his affiliation with Harvard shows this man is well educated and aware of issues that clearly Palin is just learning now in her international policy and domestic issues crash course. I agree that Obamas tenure in Washington has been short. But while McCain has been around longer (and really that is more of a reflection of his age), it has been his poor judgment in how he voted to help our economy, education, and national security that scares me. As you pointed out, Bush did not have Americas best interest in mind as he piloted this country- I want a leader who I feel I can trust. I feel we will get more of Bush with McCain, and that is why I lean towards Obama.

        • Posted By: disbelief8 @ 09/28/2008 11:38:05 PM

Yes, I'm scared. Tax relief for 95% of Americans, health care that is affordable and will no longer put cancer patients in the poor house, economic reform and regulation, an energy plan that is well organized and feesible, and oh yes, equal pay for women. I'm terrified (please note the sarcasm). I will be voting for Obama and Biden come November...I just hope the votes get counted this time.

  • Posted By: Anne Lamb @ 09/08/2008 9:19:08 AM

Her religious views are really troublesome!!!!! I still think politics and religion are not compatable!!! I heard that she does not like Catholics and dosen't cozy up to Jews, can you imagine what she thinks of Muslims?
SHE IS SCAREY!!!!! ONE HEART BEAT AWAY!!!!!!!! SCAREY!!!!!

    • Posted By: marysusanna @ 09/09/2008 9:47:02 AM

When did it become so taboo to be a Christian. To have morals and ethics. Our forefathers were Christian men, they worshiped God, they prayed for guidance and they took it serious. As far as Muslims are concerned, it is their goal to bring their way of life here to America and the entire world. Their beliefs are totally contrary to the freedom we enjoy because of the sacrafices of men like John McCain. Obama's ties to the Muslim world are what is SCAREY!!! If you feel more comfortable with that, then I bet you are scared. I bet every Muslim in this nation, or the world, would cast their vote for Barak Hussein Obama!

      • Posted By: disbelief8 @ 09/28/2008 11:27:26 PM

Speaking of ties to Muslims, what ties does the current administration have with the Muslim world? The oil is not raining from the sky, but is corrupting our world. You use the word Muslim as if it is a bad word - reminds me of Palin's "bad guys" comments. This rigid, black and white world view serves no one, not Christians, not Jews, not Muslims, and not the American people who are a mix of these and hundreds of other religions.

      • Posted By: Rowdyboy @ 09/10/2008 10:28:14 AM

marysusanna, are you aware that so called "christians" have waged war on the world to"spread the gospel"???? How does that differ from what you accuse Muslims of wanting?????? Christian freedom depends on which side of the conflict you are on does it not? How many peoples of different religion have you met???? Hoe many Muslims do you know/?? Ever talked to one??? Budhists???? Have you ever experienced someone of another religion, or culture, or race????? Educate yourself so you don't sound so ignorant. Only ignorant people are afraid of things they know nothing about. Ignorance breeds wickidness and as the good book says "the wicked fleeth when no man troubleth"...........

rowdyboy...why do you find it so necessary to be so mean???? This isn't a hate forum...I don't think.
Now, to answer some of your question. I was once married to a Christian Egyptian. I have traveled to Egypt, I have been in their midst. I have supped at the Ramadan table with Muslims I loved and cared for. I don't claim to be an expert but I have studied Islam, from a Christian viewpoint, of course. I have also studied early Christianity and most of it is dispicable. Now, enough about me.... Obama was born a Muslim. The Muslims claim him as one of their own, apostate or not. They would be laughing and dancing in the streets if was elected and the terrorist would be licking their chops.... McCain/Palin'08

      • Posted By: BaDgErFaN @ 09/09/2008 6:13:55 PM

Any time Regilon gets involved in Politics, it is going to be a culture war. It makes the greatest country so divided. It is sad. Repulican is good at using this to divide people. It worked in 2000 and 2004. I hope this time people will wake up sooner. I believe Obama/Biden can overcome it this time!!

How arrogant of you to imply only Christians have morals and ethics? Does that mean Jews, Atheists, Hindus, and yes Muslims, do not have morals and ethics? Stop your hypocrisy and and narrow minded judgement of others. .

      • Posted By: fccFH @ 09/09/2008 11:12:48 AM

Thanks for the input you country bumpkin- but just for your information it is no more taboo to be a Muslim than it is to be a Christian. Not all Muslim???s are fanatical terrorists any more than all Christian???s are bible thumping half wits. You cannot make such gross over generalizations. I am Christian and a Republican but would be truly offended to ever be likened to someone as lowly as you!

One heart beat away... we are also one heart beat away from seeing the Veep be the President. Perfectly healthy Americans die suddenly all the time. Do not realize that Obama (as a black male) has a higher chance of a stroke than McCain does. Look at the current Veep everyone has excepted him to die for the last 8 YEARS and he is still around.

So, I was talking to this little girl Catherine, the daughter of some friends, and she said she wanted to be President some day.
Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there with us and I asked Catherine, "If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?"
Catherine replied - "I would give houses to all the homeless people."
"Wow! What a worthy goal you have there, Catherine." I told her, "You don't have to wait until you're President to do that, you can come over to my house and clean up all the dog "stuff" in my back yard and I will pay you $5 dollars. Then we can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $5 dollars to use for a new house."
Catherine (who was about 4) thought that over for a second, while her mom looked at me seething, and Catherine replied, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and clean up the dog "stuff" and you can just pay him the $5 dollars?"
I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

HORAAAAAY!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!! YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!! i HATE PEOPLE THAT ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A HANDOUT!! There are true people with problems and those need our help to get on their feet.... and then they can go to work like the rest of us!!! And the two comments that didnt agree should give all of your money and belongings to the next guy you see standing on the side of the road with a sign that reads "HUNGRY".

Do you realize that a large percentage of the "homeless" and destitute are people who have worked most of their lives, have developed cancer or another debilitating illness, and cannot afford their medical bills, food for their families, etc. From your window in the ivory tower, can you see them?

Your right you didnt say it exactly but you insinuated it... If you are so down on America then please do move to another country..... We will see how scared you are for your children then..... I am blessed to have been born here and am grateful my children were too... If a woman is raped and becomes pregnant then an abortion should be her choice but it is not okay to use partial birth abortion in any case ..... its inhumane! Americans have a great system setup its called Congress.... The president cant just do whatever he wants unless Congress approves it... So your probably safe with Roe vs. Wade.... The reasons that we are in Iraq is not to push our beliefs on anyone, I mean we are America which contains many diverse people and beliefs.... It is to make things safer for everyone in the world.... Iraq is even a danger to themselves.... Their people are so repressed.... Dont you see that...? How stupid would it be for all of the men and women who have died for all of us and the greater good to just pull out and let things go back to the way they were..... My only brother will be on his third trip over there in January... He is a doctor and is on the front line in all of this.... he has had the opportunity to retire after 18 years of service but not until things are safer. We ARE seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. And about the sex education in school..... the children do get sex ed in school starting in Jr. High. But really; take out prayer(which has already been done to your liking) and lets teach them about sex..... sounds kinda self destructive.... Oh and how about instead of the school teaching about sex ; you teach your own kids about it... And take out science? Where did that come from? Never heard that one and since I work for the school system I probably would have unless that is targeted just toward your school. And as far as the brave men and women comment ; I agree entirely.........BRAVE very BRAVE which is exactly what I as talking about in the first place ;MCCAIN! And one more thing , Think Global.... obviously you are the one with your head up your ass! If you are scared by my comments, you should be.... the facts are there and Obama is not right for President of the United States!

Shhh: This is K Brock. Your comment is excellent and thought provoking. What is happening is America is this: There is an insidious hatred of America by many in other parts of the world. They are what I call the "Elite." They look down their noses at the backward-boorish Americans who have the audacity to actually believe that God exist (What a bunch of American Stupid???s) and who might believe that the SUN has something to do with climate change (ever wonder how the Great Lakes were formed?) But getting back on point - This insidious-elite group has infected Americans. Our elite movie stars want to live in France and have their children there, or England - anywhere but America who has given them more than almost anyone in the entire world could hope to have. They then join in the whiners who are down on America because they will not be in the "ELITE" and erudite thinkers of the world if they don???t'. You must hate America and everything it stands for to be a part of this group. (How many times have our men and women gone to Europe to die in their dirt to save their asses?) Yet, we are looked down upon and now Americans are starting to believe the elites who can't live together for more than 50 to 100 years before they are starting another war on one another. When Obama goes to Europe and basically says to the world "I am here and I am you," how disgusting. What he is really saying is that "You are the elite and I represent the elite thinkers in America! I am one of you!" Then we get these weak spined whiners on the web who can only cry because they have to actually live under a system that has chosen a Republican to lead. I am sick of the elitist, with the power of their press, crapping on the good people of America and then turning their nose up like they are better than us stupid people who do the work, fight the wars, and pay the taxes that mostly go out as handouts that are hands off to anyone changing because the system has set it up as such. It is time to change America and to start noting the whimpering elites who want to make us more like the people that Obama spoke to in Europe - Un-American.

Sign off your "handout" directly to the Fortune 500 because that is where all of the handouts have gone the past 8 years. Hardworking? Hard at work stealing middle class money I'd say.

You are having a hard time finding it because there isnt one.... Oh wait community leader.... There you go, Obama's career : Community Leader... ha

The last I checked, Obama was a Senator. The "experience" line is tired. Let's discuss competence, composure, and integrity...sadly lacking from the Republican nominees in 2004 and again in 2008.

It has been a classic 'American marketing' achievement: Sarah Palin, despite her dismal national and foreign affair experience relative to any vice president candidates ever, has energized and turned the Republican Party around, and became the overnight front-page ???pageant-like??? celebrity. Now, the hottest items in stores are Palin eye-glasses, Palin dolls, Palin shoes, and on and on. It is almost unthinkable that she may even become the first woman President of the United States, should ???God forbid???, anything happen to John McCain, the oldest presidential candidate other than Ronald Reagan. It is where the pageantry, charm, image, ability to relate to others and crafty communication (despite her accusations to her opponent and claims of her credentials were not always truthful) are not the only things, but everything that count.

What is everyone's problem?? Why don't you ask the people of Alaska and see what Palin has done for our state. She has turned this state around and done many wonderful things. We are such a unique place with so many different people and social structures. When Palin came in to office, she got rid of the luxuries that the previous governer had in order to save money for our state. She is giving money back to the people to help our economy. I am proud to have Palin as my Vice President. You don't always have to be sucked into the political games in order to be a good leader. I think that is what will make her an awesome vice leader for our country. I know she will not refuse to put her hand on her heart for the national anthem, nor will she deny her patriotism like Obama did, lest you forget. The media is very biased and you should look at the facts, not just what the media is telling us. It's a joke anymore.

Alaska is not a country, it's a state. And when oil prices fall to $65-70 a barrel, your state won't be singing such a happy tune. Her sucess can be attributed to the rest of the country lining your pockets with taxes we had to pay for that gas at the pumps.

Th people of your sate seem to think we aren't having troubles in the rest of the nation. It's like you are in another country when you refer to us in "the lower 48" . , like you aren't a sate in the UNITED STATES.

I have yet to read or hear anyone state any of Obama's achievements that qualify him for president. He wouldn't be hired as a CEO of any company on his experience. I've never heard of a company hiring anyone for an executive position because the applicant was a good communicator and he knows how to bring people together. Have you? If so, who? (just an aside: McCain has crossed party lines on bills and policies over 100 times. Obama approx. 15 times.) So, he's not even that good, really, at bringing people together who don't think like him. The reason people are comparing him to Gov. Palin is that she's had more executive experience than Obama, who has had none. That should give people in his corner reason for serious concern. This isn't a game and the future and safety of our country is at stake, Can anyone name just one of Obama's accomplishments that would qualify him for the presidency?
