FYI: Sarah Palin is Governor of Alaska. That means she is Governor of 628,000 people. That is smaller than my local county. Smaller by 70, 000 people. Yes, Sarah Palin is not running for President, but it is definitely a strong indicator of McCain's judgment. He continuously criticizes Obama for being inexperienced. I'm beginning to realize that perhaps he just doesn???t know what "experienced" really means.

The population of Alaska is 0.2% of the national population. Wasilla's population is 1% of Alaska's. Can you imagine a major corporation choosing its second-in command based on this experience??? It would be like a $10 billion company considering the most qualified candidate to be someone who spent two years as the CEO of a company that did $20 million worth of business after having spent six years as the CEO of a company that did $200,000 worth of business. Somehow, I think that corporate leaders would laugh pretty hard at that prospect.

Its scary times. The barracuda and her partner lives on providing distorted information with a straight face. Yet they are yet to address the issues that impact my family - threat of jo loss, loss of my home value, high gas prices, high health cost and dwindling economy. It scares me if these folks believe what spews out of their mouth or they say them for votes. if they indeed do, it is sad day for us all.

"Noticed her good looks"? Could there be a more transparent puff piece? This is an insult to journalism, this woman is running for the vice president of the United States of America and you're talking about her "cheeky tees"?

Whatever Obama lacks in experience he makes up for in judgment. Whatever McCain lacks in judgment, experience cannot save him nor us.

I want the world to know where Gov. Palin stands on aerial hunting of wolves and bears. She supports it and also encourages it. Offered bounties for each wolf foreleg turned in. Now Governor Palin be accountable for that.

Remenber 2004 : Kerry reported for duty! Now Palin repoted for motherwood(no abortion). It was oke to prove Kerry's unfit for his military values. Now it is oke to prove Palin's unfit for motherwood's balues, including her children's behavoir.Children don't get to blame for parents' mistakes. But parents do get the blame for their children's mistakes.

Anne she said in her church that the Iraq war is God's work, that is troublesome for sure. She is just as scary as the muslim fundamentalists. They believe in forcing their religious views on everyone through politics.

I am also worried about who will watch Trig the downs syndrome baby who needs attention. The story is that its okay that Sarah has a demanding job like governor because her husband is a stay at home dad but at the same time they say he works for BP and is in the steelworkers union. Which is it and who watches the baby? Downs syndrome babies need a lot of attention and contact from the family. The baby was also too young to be passed around from hand to hand like that at the convention.

It's so weird how Sarah has not been allowed to talk at all, except to regurgitate bits of her convention speech like one of those dolls when you pull the string. Why do they need so much time to prepare her for the public? It's like wanting a job but refusing to go for an interview, or going and just reciting your resume. McCain is weird and I think maybe senile. He keeps changing his views like he doesn't remember what he said before. I think he is hiding something what really happened in Vietnam when he was a POW. These two scare me.

I would like to know more about the library book ban issue. did she odr didn't she want to ban some books

  • Posted By: BobDoro @ 09/07/2008 4:50:44 PM

Sarah's two best traits appear to be self-promotion and opportunism. 1) Bridge to nowhere - She was in favor of it until Congress killed it, then suddenly she was against it, 2) the ethics "celan up" of Alaska was based on legislation that was well underway before she became governor, 3) she is against earmarks, yet she managed to wrangle $26 MM worth of them for her hometown and Alaska leads the US in pork barrel handouts, 4) Her authority over the Alaska Guard ends once the troops are federalized into service...and the list goes on and on. Ask yourself why they have her locked away and won't let her talk to reporters.

Funny, that's would described the two best traits of Obama too!

THE PARTY OF JOHN (POW - PILOT- HERO) McCOMA

It's weird: I looked at the GOP Convention on TV and it was like the night of the living dead. I mean all I saw were a bunch of white-haired wrinkly old men and women. Not only is their hair white, though some have blue hair. almost all of the people were white. Maybe because that woman is from Alaska where everything is white. I was wondering if this were a meeting of the Ku Klux Klan I heard about years ago. Where do they hide their robes. I did see one black, red, yellow and brown face, and I noticed they were being shuffled around to catch the camera. Is this the new Republican party or the old? This is the party of inclusion? Not the ???race card,??? just the facts.

    DIVERSE NATION - - - WHITE PARTY

Read between the lines. Neither republican candidate took time to examine the issues or propose solid solutions. It's not wrong to feel cheated. Contrast their performance with the hard-hitting specific program Obama and Byden proposed last week. Being only a heartbeat away from the presidency, Palin did not show talents other than she's a good speaker. The media is digging into her background to supplement the inadequate vetting to which she was subjected, McCain's having been imprisoned 40 years go does not prove anything about his leadership capabilities. His voting record in behalf of veterans contradicts his statement that he is the veterans' friend. Bottom line: He is a maverick. She is an unknown. He supported 90% of Bush's policies. She is under investigation. He's satisfied with her vetting. She was not properly vetted. Both support Big Oil and tax breaks for the very rich. I have seen next to nothing to be convinced they should have my vote. If they win, it will be 4 more years of the same. No thanks. Obam is a solid breath of clean air! More WILL be revealed.

I agree. I just learned that she supports book bannings and have fired librarians who refused to remove her banned books. Hitler banned books. Enough said?

      • Posted By: Charter09 @ 09/07/2008 2:44:51 PM

Actually, this has been debunked. The librarian cannot remember any books being banned. Some of the books on the list were not even published until AFTER she was governor.

        • Posted By: Hatful1 @ 09/07/2008 7:27:40 PM

The two-year old dossier included a listing of books she wanted burned, that old list that conservatives posted with Assemblies of God in the late 80's - The Living Bible and Why the Cage Birds Sing I remember specifically. The town intiated a "recall" campaign for Palin as Mayor, and when she saw people were serious, she backed off. The Librarian has moved away since then, but still gave comments to investigators abou the turmoil and invective she experienced. She was another prior "friend" of Palin's who she burned.

  • Posted By: tazrocks @ 09/07/2008 1:44:56 PM

She has more elected experience than Obama ever thought about having, and she is 2 years younger. Obama has written 2 book and no legislation. Yes that does speak volumes. Obama wishes he had half the experience that she has. Oh wait, he does only have half the experience, barely!!!!

    • Posted By: Hatful1 @ 09/07/2008 7:08:00 PM

I don't know where you get these lies from that Obama is not qualified. The Republicans are trying to rewrite history to justify such an inadequate pick. Palin has limited experience as Mayor of a small town that was not in debt when she started, but $22 million in debt when she left because of poor judgement is building a sports complex that is not being utilized and has resulted in a recently settled lawsuit.
The exaggeration of her accomplishments further distort reasonable and pragmatic expectations of a journalist over a lawyer - Obama graduated magna *** laude from Harvard, successfully directed publishing of the Harvard Law Review for a year; got high marks from his peers and professors at Harvard, and his students where he was a law professor at the University of Chicago - a premiere law school in the land.
To correctly assess and make judgments on governmental policies, Obama is more equip educationally (journalist versus legal polity). Furthermore, Palin is not a uniter, but a divider. People are complaining that she hired inexperienced people when she began as a Mayor and even as a Governor - because she hate people to challenge her viewpoints. This is a wide-spread claim, so it must have some merit. It sounds exactly like George Bush, hiring his buddies who proved incompetent, and now our government is a mess.

John McCain has proven that he wants to win more than he loves this country. He knows that Sarah Palin is not versed enough or mentally astute enough (her town says she never showed any curiosity about national matters or foreign affairs) to correctly move our country forward. It is obvious that Sarah Palin lacks the basics to engage our foreign allies, less on our aggressors! John McCain has failed America before he even assumes the role of President, I would hate to see what else he would do.

Furthermore, over the past couple of months, John McCain has shown some mental lapses which could be attributed to a lack of fitness. We can not overlook this, especially with Sarah Palin as the fallback person. She may be a great mother, and a good Christian - but we can not continue to act as if she would be considered for President if she were not a conservative playing to the religious right of the Republican Party.

I understand that Mrs. Palin has promoted and instigated a Gas Pipeline from Alaska to the Lower 48! She administered the politics of a small town and followed that up by doing the same for the largest state in the Union!~! Now, I am still waiting (for a year, now,) to hear or read about some ACCOMPLISHMENT of El Senor Obama!! What HAS HE DONE??? that enables him to be our Commander-in-chief???
